San Benito Tire Pros & Automotive in Hollister

I dropped in here while visiting from out of town to get a low tire looked at. It was late Friday afternoon, near closing time. They looked at it right away, patched it, and had me out in just a few minutes. And the price was more than fair. It’s so great to find people who go out of their way to help.

My battery died while I was on my lunch and some people were helping me try to jump the car, but we couldn't get it. Rey stopped and helped. He got it jumped with ease and said I should stop by the shop to get my battery tested and said they have like a 5 year warranty. The service inside the shop was quick and the price for the new battery was fair.

San Benito Tires' second location in downtown Hollister is what every car repair shop should be like. Their honest about what and how much for repairs and maintenance of your vehicle. Ed is very professional and makes my car repair or maintenance experience a little less stressful. Doing a great job. I'm happy you're here in Hollister.

They treat repeat customers super well and will admit mistakes when they happen. A tech broke my tpms sensor when changing a tire and the lead technician had a new one installed for free. Another time, an older technician diagnosed and fixed a loose and creaking sway bar end link for me for free because it was just one of those "i have no idea where it's coming from" things. My dad and I have been getting our tires here for ever and they always give honest upfront costs. Very honest place with super knowledgeable people. I will always recommend them.

Both locations are good and I have trusted their quality and dependable service for my family’s automotive needs for 25 years. Everyone treats us well but Ed always goes the extra mile to repair my vehicles and save me money and time. Thank you SBT! Kathleen Church

I took my car into San Benito Tire on 11/22/22 because my tire wouldn't hold air for more than a few days. I called Ed the day before, told him what was going on and scheduled an appointment for the following day. I showed up the day of my appointment and told Ed which tire was giving me issues and gave him the key and left. I didn’t hear back from anyone so I called in about 4-5 hours later to check on my car and Ed said that he was doing invoicing and my car should be done “soon”. I never heard back again that my car was ready so I decided to show up after a few more hours. I picked up my car to find out they did the wrong service on my car. They never looked at the tire that wasn’t holding air and instead did an oil change and tire rotation which I never asked for. I brought this to Ed’s attention and he apologized and said he would perform the correct service the following day but still charged me $115 for a service I never asked for. He said he would “take care of me” for his mistake the following day. The next day San Benito Tire found the issue with my tire and replaced the tire. When I showed up to pick up and pay for my vehicle, I was expecting the charges from their mistake to be taken off my bill. Ed could only offer me a 1/2 refund for performing the wrong service on my vehicle the day before. Also the refund is not listed anywhere on the invoice which makes me believe it was never discounted. Overall I feel cheated and scammed by San Benito Tire. Not only did they perform the wrong service and delay my vehicle but they charged me for it. I would not recommend this business to anyone. There are many options in Hollister so please stay away and take your car somewhere else.

If you want to go to a mechanic that will treat you like family... look no further!! These guys really put in the work and make sure they don’t break your bank at the same time. I was so worried when I moved to hollister that I wouldn’t be able to find someone who wouldn’t rip me off. So grateful for all these guys!!!:)

What can I say? These guy are the type of people that you can leave your car without knowing what is wrong with it and they'll call you telling you exactly what it is that's the problem. And they wont go and try to get you for other fixes that you don't need. I've been to them a few times and each time I'm so thankful for their sincere honesty on things. I fully reccomend this place. Oh and also price is VERY reasonable compared to other shops in the area.
