It's a locally owned and operated family business. They do honest, quality work. They diagnose the problem instead of just throwing parts at it. They explain various options and the costs associated with each without any pressure to choose one over the others. Me and several people I know have taken their cars here. Shops like these are getting harder to find. Definitely recommend it.

Both our vehicles are in great shape thanks to them. Almost 20 year old car and truck, with Gilroy Car Care doing most of the maintenance. Friendly service and always a fair price.

As far as mechanics go, I can't give a higher recommendation than Gilroy Car Care. My family has used this place for as long as I can remember. When I started driving, I felt like the expense was too much and sought less expensive options. After being fleeced by a couple of other local places, I realized the value in having a competent mechanic that you can trust. I came back to Gilroy Car Care and never looked back. Their prices are fair, their work is good, and their commitment to ethics is on point.

Matt, Dave, and team were fantastic in getting my 1978 Chevy K10 stepside truck back on the road. It needed a complete fuel system refresh, from dropping and flushing both tanks, to installing new sending units, to all new fuel line hoses, to installing a new fuel pump, and doing a complete rebuild of the carburetor. They also flushed my brake fluid too. The truck is back in great shape! Honest, trustworthy, professional, and knowledgeable folks I will continue to take my car issues to for great resolutions!

I have been bringing my 2002 Lincoln Continental into this repair shop for over seven years for service and repairs, and have spent in excess of $4000.00 for those. On November 14th, 2024, the coolant reservoir was replaced at this shop ($250.31). I drove the mile home, and before I could park it the radiator literally blew up. I phoned Matt and suggested that perhaps a hose or line was not clear, that maybe there was an air pocket, or a hose was not connected, and he replied that it wasn't possible. He told me that I needed to have the radiator replaced, but that it would be over a week before he could do the work. The radiator was replaced on December 5th, 2024 ($822.81). The cost of the coolant reservoir and radiator was over 3/4 of my monthly income. After the radiator was replaced, Matt took my car for a test drive and it was still overheating. He replaced the thermostat while I waited, free of charge (he said it was a holiday gift for me), took it for another test drive and it was still overheating. He and another mechanic then attempted to 'bleed' the coolant air bleeder screw which did nothing. He said that I could take it home, and could drive short distances safely, but that I would need a new water pump installed (for $500.00 +), and I made an appointment to do so for December 17th, 2024. I needed to run an errand on December 12th, 2024 and when I turned the key in the ignition there was nothing, not a single sound. My son-in-law attempted to give me a jump start and still there was nothing. I had the battery tested and it is at 100%. I phoned Matt and all he could say was 'I'm sorry'. He offered no suggestions, help or advice. My engine is seized as the result of shoddy workmanship. My car is no longer operable. I listed it for sale, but no one wants to buy it. Because I cannot leave an inoperable car parked in front of my house I am forced to donate it. This is quite a dilemma for me, and I am actually quite brokenhearted. I am a recovering cancer patient with Rheumatoid Arthritis, and I relied on my car to get me to medical appointments and the stores. I am elderly and disabled, and my Social Security income is just a little over $1300.00 per month. I most likely will not be able to ever afford to purchase another car. I know that something was not done correctly when the coolant reservoir was installed, and as a result of this I will no longer have a car. Note* Outside of losing some coolant, my car was running perfectly prior to having the work done at Gilroy Car Care. I have owned my car for over ten years, have kept it well maintained, and this is literally breaking my heart. I have attempted to contact the owner via email and Facebook messenger with no replies, which is why I have posted this review.

This place was fantastic with my car fix. Car broke down Wednesday, called this place Thursday and they were able to help me out Friday. Got my car fixed ASAP and was extremely happy with the results. Worth every penny to me
