Best Western Rose Garden Inn in Watsonville

Minimal parking. Hope you get there early and be prepared to stay put. Staff service is minimal, that is if you can get anyone to come to the desk. Janitorial staff helped find them. Apparently there was an all staff meeting in breakfast area. Tried to book for 4-5 adults, got 1 room with 1 king bed. I thought it would be a suite for that many adults. Planned an extended stay- left after 2 nights without help for different accommodations. Safety: Likely safe. Often times the assigned key wont even let you in

Beautiful rooms, friendly staff, superbly managed. Great amenities, the pool is amazing, fitness room, will stay here again. Rooms: Super clean, I loved the shampoo, conditioner and body wash in the shower. Really comfortable. Nearby activities: Located near Target, Main Street, Starbucks, Grocery Outlet, Dollar (&1/4) Tree, Super Taqueria & Chipotle.

Wonderful staff quick easy checkin. Rooms are so fresh and clean. We had a sink, microwave, coffee maker, stove with oven, everything was fresh and new. Bed was very comfortable, great pillows. Breakfast lady was wonderful. The breakfast selection was great. Hot French toast sticks, ham, eggs, biscuits and gravy, bagels, toast, yogurt, cereal fresh fruit, juices and coffee. Cleaning staff would text in the morning to see if you needed service. (Which we appreciated because then you don t have all the noise of them knocking on the doors) Heated pool was in use adults and children. We stayed a Friday and Saturday night and there were no issues with parking. Parking area is small though. Pet friendly, park is short walk. About 125.00 a night. Good value. We would stay again.

Room was nice and clean, bed for the most part was comfy but thats preference. The staff was very friendly as well. Jusy make sure you dont say in the low 200s. Street gets noisy outside early. Only complaint. Plenty of places to explore within walking distance.

This place looks decent from the outside. Looks are deceiving. These rooms are nasty, out dated, dirty. And very loud traffic My room had clumps of dog hair, black long hair in sink, I m blond. Tiny 24 in tv Mold in bathroom. Loud refrigerator. Broken shelves. The first thing I asked was is hot tub working. And it was, I was told, smh. Reason why we chose the place. Achy body been needed that hot tub. Well I go get one toe in first and I was like wait. Put the whole foot in and it was lukewarm water. Damn it. It was too cold to sit more than 10 min. I called front desk asked if they could turn up heat. And maintenance guy had already left for the day. There goes that. Horrible experience I will be calling corporate. This place is disgusting.

The room was surprisingly nice. The location is an issue. Next to a busy road with loud traffic and sirens coming by constantly, all night long and early the next morning. Outside the room smelled strongly of either a skunk or Marijuana smoke (which is legal), but when commenting about it, the staff shamed me for my uncomfort. Shaming someone for feeling an emotion is NOT OK. I recommend steering clear of this location unless you enjoy staying up all night and taking a toke or two right outside your door.

Traditional motel in a good location, well-kept complex with pool, very large and clean room (two king-size beds), friendly staff, comparatively good breakfast selection, fair prices. Gladly again!

So the room was beautiful. The check-in process was smooth, and the breakfast was better than just continental. A few things I would say is that the parking situation was a bit subpar, when we arrived at 9 there was no parking left in the main lot and we had to drive around the corner to a different lot and had to carry our stuff a little further. The breakfast was all microwaveable but better than just pastries cereal and fruit and warm. It is worth noting that this location did not have waffles or pancakes as most Best Westerns do.

It is a lovely hotel with no carpet on the floors. Colorful flowers outside, polite staff, clean rooms, great breakfast, and eco-friendly.

This is a nice location, and a nice facility. There is a choice of food options nearby. You will feel as if you are in the neighborhood rather than at a hotel. The location is only 30 to 40 minutes from all the Monterey Bay activities making it a good home base when in the area.

Room was clean but very humid. There was condensation in the windows, the bathroom fan was not helping. The ac did not have a dry function. Very unpleasant. Breakfast was very good. Don t expect to find any fancy restaurants around, there is only fast food and many Mexican restaurants. We did stumble upon the most delicious clam chowder at The Rustic Table just around the corner.

An average hotel. My family came late at night, and left the next morning. When we arrived in the parking lot, it was completely full. There was very limited parking. The lady at the front desk seemed very bored, as if she didn t want to be there. From first glance the rooms were quite nice. The beds were comfy and the ac was very quiet. There was a mini fridge, a microwave, and a tv. Then I walked into the bathroom and immediately changed my mind about this hotel. There was hair all over the walls, and the toilet constantly got clogged. The shower would not drain at all, which was absolutely gross. The wifi password wasn t stated anywhere in the room, you had to go to the front desk to connect to the wifi. This isn t a problem, but it s quite annoying. The walls were very thin, and I could constantly hear my neighbors talking. I got an ok night s sleep. The breakfast at the hotel was below average. The eggs were slightly powdery. But the worst part was, there was no sink or hand sanitizer at all in the breakfast area. For a less than 24 hour stay, my family ended up paying 280$ bucks for 1 room. This hotel was not worth it.

They updated their rooms. They have some rooms with kitchen in them. Employees are friendly. There is a pool and off street parking. Their breakfast is ok it could add other items to eat ex pancakes or waffles etc. I will be here for 6 days. I will add more comments. Food and drinks: There are many restaurants in the area also close to downtown Watsonville.

Nice motel. Room is big enough and kitchenette is convenient. My only complaint is the water pressure in the shower. Half the holes on the shower head are clogged and it affects the pressure. Besides that its good here. Update. They replaced the shower head a day after posting the review. Good customer service Nearby activities: Pretty much down town but still only 10 min from beach. Cant beat that

You can hear absolutely everything. We were up all night because the room next door was very loud opening and closing their room door and smoking outside of our room. The cleaning service were also very loud slamming doors etc. The room was very clean and nice

This is a nice place. Not really a luxury stay or top of the line by any means. You get what you pay for. My room was clean but the road noise was loud. Maybe invest in thicker doors. I would recommend this place or the place across the street. Also a nice motel 6 close by. Rooms: Kind of old furniture. No USB ports. WiFi was weak. Could have used a desk or table. Typical low rate hotel setup. Nearby activities: Food is walking distance. Reasonably safe to walk and buy food. Car would be best. Close to main street and a bar. Close to freeway. Walkability: Safe to walk inside the compound like to the gym and pool. Taco spot like half a block away is not terrible.

Alexandria was a great help, helping us adjust to our room, appreciate her helpful spirit! Need to initiate a short input regarding heat/AC unit, as to where the switches are, for those too dumb to read!

We love this hotel. Rooms: Beautiful. It felt like Taj Mahal. But with no locks. Nearby activities: Pool and spa. Safety: It feels very safe. Walkability: Close to a lot of stuff. Food and drinks: Lots of restaurants and fast food close by. Delicious biscuits at breakfast. Noteworthy details: No locks on the interior doors. I understand no lock on the bathroom door, if you are staying in a standard hotel room . But we splurged for the whirlpool suite and we couldnt enjoy it much because there were no locks. Its tough to relax when a child could pop in at any time. We will be getting the start room from now on (unless they install a lock on that master bedroom door.)

Friendly staff, reasonably priced, and clean! We rented the Kitchen Studio. They did have some dishes but certainly need to be upgraded with a complete set. There were only 2 forks. We purchased a set of 3 to donate to the room. Breakfast was pretty good. Do wish they had a waffel maker. But the employee taking care of breakfast, was amazing, attentive and a hard worker! Overall, we really liked our stay and will likely stay again

It was in Watsonville ca. Wow did not have to take a sleeping pill, best king size bed ever amazing pillows and it was so quiet, best breakfast ever. I will stay there again.

This is a great place if you get it before its sold out. Quiet and very clean!! They allow dogs which is a huge plus in my book. The beds were comfortable and clean. Our room had a fridge and microwave. The sink area next to the bathroom had a Spanish tile design with great lighting, and there was also a makeup mirror with a light attached to the wall. My husband and I enjoyed the spa for a bit that evening. Very happy overall. We will be back for sure.

Dont stay here. Lots of street noise, parking lot full of trucks, breakfast has powdered eggs and stale bread and rooms have not been updated in years.

Very reasonable rates, and clean. Friendly associates and great breakfast. We rented the studio with a full size kitchen. Unfortunately, the kitchen is limited in stock with paper plates and plastic utensils. It would be nice to have mugs, glasses, dishes and silverware, but maybe they have grown legs in the past and continue to disappear. ;) Would definitely stay again.

Nice and clean room while visiting family in Watsonville. Very surprised to learn that they have a heated pool! One evening I heard kids playing in the pool in probably 40 degree weather in Feb 2023. But the pool seemed to be letting off steam so it was probably very nice. The only downside was the odd service situation I ran into. A customer in front of me got two bottles of water free of charge but we did not - even after asking for water, the receptionist told us to visit the breakfast area where we could use a water machine. It was a very odd feeling because the receptionist literally right in front of me reached down, gave this one guy two bottles of water and we were not offered the same courtesy. Not a good look for them at all but whatever. Keep your 25 cent bottle and make a husband and wife reconsider their hotel on the next trip to visit family.

Pet friendly and next to a park very convenient

The hotel is beautiful and located next to really great restaurants. But, the hotel check in office was locked and it was difficult to check in or get help when my hotel room key stopped working on day two of my three day stay. There were also some issues with the cleanliness of my room. Hopefully, the staff will get a wake up call. I like the hotel, but the staff, (office and house keeping) had issues that will make me hesitate to stay here again

The room is nice i cant hate on that but if your like me and you like your room cold and like the soind of a fan.. go somewhere else .. the ac doesnt go lower than 66. And you cant have a constant fan.. im dying in here ..

Last time we stayed -- 2018, I think-- this was excellent. This time, the front desk person was not at all helpful, the so-called kitchenette was almost not provisioned and pretty much useless, and the floor was dirty. The only excellent thing was Denise in the breakfast room.

Its a nice place. The room are attractivly decorated. Very clean. The pool and spa is open.

Great little place to stay. The inside was clean and very pleasant, quite cute actually love their spanish decor. The price was very good considering the kind of room we got and for only $10 extra we were able to upgrade to a 1 king bed with a whirl pool tub which was clean and quite large and was nice to use. I think this is a great little place to stay at if you are going to be visiting Monterey area definitely a little cheaper to stay in Watsonville if you dont mind a short drive to your destination. In the morning I was able to hear a little bit of noise from people leaving the building/parking lot but in my opinion not to bad. The continental breakfast was good also. The fact that they had almond milk as a option for your breakfast won major points with me.

The room itself was great, very clean, well maintained, and super spacious (we had the suite with the jetted tub). The tub was big enough for two. The room had the usual amenities; coffee maker, microwave, refrigerator. Coffee maker is small, makes small cups. If your a coffee drinker youll need to get extra coffee from the front desk. The breakfast room was exceptionally clean and well taken care of. The two employees Denise and Sam are phenomenal! The attention to detail and care they provide made all the difference. Food was good, scrambled eggs, sausage patties, biscuits and gravy, plus all the usual pastries, yogurts, fruit etc. But Denise and Sam kept the room spotless and the food fresh and stocked. Overall the hotel is really good, but the staff made it remarkable. We didnt need maid service while we were there but we got extra coffee from the front desk and they happily took care of us. We will definitely make this our place to stay in Watsonville.

WAY overpriced. Very very limited parking. Very limited. Maid ignored the No Serivce Needed sign, They do not give itimized receipt. Oh yes, front loby door is ALWAYS locked. Makes me think of a cheezy hotel in a low rent district of some flea bag town.

The room was very clean and cute. Heater was great to, but felt a draft from door.

Different kind of room arrangement. Kept losing the closet which was covered by mirrors. Toilet clogged very easily. Breakfast was ok. Soft serve yogurt machine didnt work. Not much in the way of fruit or protein choices. Bed was comfortable. Room was on the lower level but heard no noise from the room above us. Staff were friendly and helpful. Parking was easy as was the street access.

We were put in the back. Very loud and did not feel safe.

It was kinda gross. Inspection wasnt thorough, they missed a dirty pair of mens socks and some crusty stuff on the table. We had a suite because we cooked but there wasnt any utensils. We appreciated the two staff members who brought us extra things though. Also wasnt enough towels/wash rags.

The stay was fine , it was the six different charges on my card that was unacceptable. Six different charges for different prices. I called them and no one was available to talk nor did anyone call me back. The bank locked my card and i had to spend an hour on the phone with my bank.

Great Service

Nice hotel right near downtown Watsonville but the whole experience was pretty awful because there was a group of people partying loudly and drinking in the parking lot until late at night. I like to drink and party too but not in a spot where others are trying to get some rest. Apparently this is a regular occurrence. Called the front desk who promised to help out but did nothing. Felt unsafe.

Nice room, pleasant staff. The down side is theres no elevator, and this little 24 inch TV. Honestly Ive never seen such a small TV in a hotel room. Other than that the room is pretty decent.

Everytime we go to Santa Cruz we stay here, we get the same room every time and I absolutely love it! Great prices for great rooms! So clean! Everything is close because youre basically downtown

This place has really gone downhill since I was here a couple of years ago. No one has cleaned sidewalks or stairs in months, shoes got so sticky, stayed sticky while walking on vinyl floor in room, ew. Front desk guy looked like he was sick, Covid? Couldnt talk much, no acknowledgement, no smile. We got a deluxe King with whirlpool tub $250, with a 27inch TV, really? Lots of screaming, yelling laughing, outside drinking partying until 3am! Vagrant with no mask smoking near front door, ew. i used to come here a lot and it was great.

I stayed in town & booked the BW for one night to visit family. We booked the 2 queens, kitchen & patio room for just under $270.00. Since my 9month old is crawling and learning to take a few steps, I thought itd be spacious enough for her to practice and explore a little bit out on the patio. As soon as we got into the room I had to open up all of the windows because it had a heavy old smell. I didnt turn on the fan since it has layers of dust on it. My husband went to the bathroom & was going to take a shower but saw pubic hair and long womens hair stuck to the shower. Right away I put my daughter in her stroller so she wouldnt be on the floor because there was layers upon layers of dust on the floor. There was also long black hairs, pistachio & peanut shells all over the floor & all over the dining seats..kinda like when you get a booth at a restaurant and theres food all over the seats and wedged in the nooks and crannies. Because I had convinced my husband to book a room in 5 years I didnt flip out or try to make a huge deal out of it. So I took matters into my own hand and went to the front desk to ask for a broom and lysol wipes so I could clean everything myself. He got out of the shower and removed the covers because it had little white hairs & white stains on them. Im EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED with our experience at the BW. I WOULDNT RECOMMEND THE BW IN WATSONVILLE TO ANYONE

The hotel staff are very friendly and easy to work with. The woman at the front desk with the short brown hair was very helpful and even upgraded our room. The pools were well taken care of and it was very quiet at night. The breakfast was also fantastic and had a lot of options available. Honestly the best hotel service Ive had.

Clean, updated with a Spanish vibe, customer service was excellent from the front desk to the breakfast room. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Breakfast included a nice spread. Eggs = Scrambled or boiled Biscuits n gravy, Sausage links, muffins, bread, bagels. Waffles, oatmeal, cereal, yogurt, fresh fruit, milk, almond milk, juice, coffee. Also, this is a great location 30 minutes to Santa Cruz 35 min to Monterey. Would definitely stay here again.

The property was ok the parking situation is a joke not enough spaces when we checked it we were just given our room keys and that was all no mention of what amenities were offered had to call down for the WiFi password had to call down for breakfast hours and location the tub in the room was huge loved that but getting out was a pain I slipped every time I got out.

I really like this BW property. Clean, cozy rooms, well decorated. Too bad I stay here for business all the time, the rooms are quite romantic! Guess I need to use some points and bring my fiance next time!

Stayed in family suite.. Excellent room. Clean, safe, and spacious. Breakfast area was large and food was plentiful.. good variety, excellent coffee machine with latte option.

ATF hotel to stay at while i work in Watsonville. Costumer service is A1, especially Ashley, shes the Best. Rooms are throughly cleaned and really updated. It has a Mexican accent to it and its beautiful. They are slowly upgrading everything so far they have: Gym room and laundry unit. Soap is even provided!! And not to mention the breakfast its SO good! So many options and made fresh. Parking can be a hassle but they have 2 parking lots and surronded businesses that will let you park there.

It was nice and clean and staff didnt mind extending my stay a little longer. The only bad experience was that I got an ear infection after swimming in their pool and my boyfriend had gotten an ear infection also a month ago that we stayed here and swam, I think they just need to improve on cleaning the pool more often.

Stayed in a family suite. It was pretty nice! Had a small patio and kitchen with all appliances! Kinda like a small studio. Would definitely check this place out. There is also a good taco shop next door haha

The guard Rosen Best Western in and Watsonville is great the rims are nice they have a pool and a hot tub they have a gym they have a laundry room and I serve a great breakfast and his clothes to shopping including a Kmart and a Straw Hat Pizza and I cant wait to go back in September of 2020 and go to the Santa Cruz County Fair in Watsonville

For a motel, the place was pretty good. You could hear others outside your door and in adjacent rooms well. But the interior of the room was nice, and they had a few nice amenities (like the continental breakfast). Its also a little hard to navigate the immediate locale. I found the staff accommodating.

As always my stay at the Rose Garden inn was very Pleasant. I just wish I could have stayed longer.

Breakfast is open until 7 am and for this reason the small place fills up immediately.

1 star service, 2 star accommodations, 4 star prices. They charged me double the price that they advertised on their site. I couldve stayed at a four star hotel down the street for the same price. When I was checking out they told me that they had double charged me and that the second charge would go away. It didnt and then they fought back when I disputed it. Their staff is also incompetent. The receptionist didnt book me for two nights like I had asked and they tried kicking me out the next day. I had to spend time clearing up that miscommunication while I shouldve been getting ready for the wedding I was going to. The room was ok. Clean enough and comfortable enough. Although most of the pillows had an off-putting smell of industrial grade memory foam, and the pillows that didnt werent very comfortable. I manged to get enough sleep though. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Lobby was nice and seemed the place was being updated. Staff was nice and friendly. Parking lot gets filled up at night. So overflow is across the street. Room needs to be updated (in process). My room was small and so was the restroom for the price and location at least. My opinion. Walls are thin. You can hear footsteps from room above. And conversations from neighbors. Goodnight sleep though. Bed is comfy. Pillows as well.

Under construction now, no exercise room

3 stars, moving towards their 4th. Prices where low during construction, the new Breakfast Hall opened during our stay 2/23/19 to 3/4/19, is impressive, the staff is super friendly. Room 214 has a deep whirlpool tub and a cozy fireplace.

This is the hotel you want to avoid ,very loud people and kids yelling ,they told me that its ok to be lout until 10pm Not when you work all day and need to get up at 1:30 am.
