AAMCO Transmissions & Total Car Care in Thousand Oaks

I took my car in thinking the car needed a new transmission because it was making very loud noises when the gear was changing from first to second... A couple friends who know a lot about cars told me that it had to be the transmission. I took the car in to have it checked out since AMMCO in this location specialists transmissions. Marco the guy in the office was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. They did a free analysis and found out it's not the transmission but the spark plugs and ignition coil. So they had my car fixed and it's runs great!!! Wow. Thank you Marc and the mechanics at the shop. You saved my car because I almost paid some to tow the car and looking to buy a new car or spending lots $$$ to have a new transmission. I highly recommend this place because they are honest and knowledgeable. 👍👍👍

The Aamco shop in Thousand Oaks on Newbury Road is a 5 star shop. I had a noise coming from the front of my 2014 Murano, and thinking I needed a brake job, I made an appointment with Marco, the manager. I drove to the shop, and Marco drove me back to my house nearby, instead of me having to take an Uber or Lyft. About 30 minutes later, Marco called and said I didn't need a brake job, it was just a backing plate that was bent and would rub against the brake rotor when I turned. They bent the plate back, and everything was fine, no charge. After having Marco rotate the tires and change the oil, he stopped by after running errands and took me back to his shop when the car was done. I hung around his office, admiring the photos of Steve McQueen taken by a local photographer, and other auto and motorcyle memorobilia. Marco is definitely service oriented and it is obvious customer satisfaction is his number one priority. I can't think of a better place to get my car serviced.

Top notch auto repair. My son trashed the transmission in his 1500 Silverado. Aamco recommended an upgraded rebuild to allow him to tow with room to spare. They were very straightforward with explanations and kept us informed of progress and cost. I recommend with no hesitation!

Please someone do something about the terrible music that blasts out all day from the mechanic bays. After spending an hour here I feel like taking a long walk off a short pier.

I recently had my car serviced at Access Transmission and I have to say, I was extremely impressed with the level of service and expertise provided. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a friendly and knowledgeable staff who made me feel at ease about leaving my car in their hands.

Got stuck here coming back from a northern CA trip, with still about 100 miles left to get home. Alternator completely died. Marco helped us feel cared for and welcome as we waited for family to arrive (AAA totally let us down getting a tow home). He was accommodating of our stranded situation, and super kind to myself and my daughter. I ended up leaving my car there for 3 days while Marco ordered, got, and installed the part. There was no price gouging, and he did not try to oversell me anything else. In fact, he was reassuring that everything else on my car was fine. I have to share my story to show how good and nice Marco at AAMCO Thousand Oaks was to me. I have a 2015 Ford Escape. I’ve always taken it to Ford dealer for service. About a month ago my Ford service advisor told me I need to do transmission fluid service and since I trust them I did it. It was first transmission service. After that my transmission would over heat when I turned on the AC. I took it back to Ford ( they gave me an appointment more than a week later ) They charged me $190 to look at it and then told me I need a new transmission and I need to leave a deposit to order it, it’ll take about two months. I took my Ford to AAMCO in Newbury Park for second opinion. Marco told me he’ll check it at no charge and it will be ready in 3 hours. Marco called in and said my car is ready and my transmission is okay. The over heating was because there was too much oil in the transmission. He said he brought the oil level to where it should be and the car is not overheating anymore. He mentioned that the oil was very clouded. I’m suspecting that technicians at Ford forgot to flush the fluid and just added oil. I was surprised that Marco didn’t charge me anything for fixing my transmission. That would’ve cost me so much. I really appreciate his work and honesty. I’m never going back to Ford for my services. I just found someone whom I can trust to do all my car services. Thank you Marco
