1011 La Salle Ave, Seaside, CA 93955, United States
Relaxed rooms, some with whirlpool tubs, in a laid-back motor inn featuring free Wi-Fi.
Great rooms for the price. I'll be staying there again next week and I have no complaints. I stay in hotels a lot and that place for the prices the best quality you're going to get.
Front Desk was super nice from the moment I was checking in. I had to call them at a weird hour to ask questions. I thought most likely no one would answer it. No, Front Desk did and answered all my questions patiently, Additionally, due to hectic travels, I quickly developed some sniffles, sour throat, and minor coughs. Given what I am going to do in the area, I asked for if there is a mask I can have. Front Desk went above and beyond and located one for me. I wanted to thank them for their super friendliness, empathy, and go above and beyond to take care of their guests. Although it is a basic place, it is clean and equipped by all travel necessities. I highly recommend the place if you are looking for basic descent accommodations!
Worst than a motel 6. Check in was grimy. Man at counter just automatically asked for my credit card and I asked him what for, it was the first words to come out his mouth. VERY DIRTY stay I have ever stayed at. There was food left in the room from previous visitors. Both gray and black hair left in the bathroom. I tried to cancel my second day reservation. Staff said it was not possible. Did not even apologize for the dirty room.
I am a teacher at a high school 2 hours away. My school needed a place to stay with many rooms filled with high school students. The owner of this hotel was incredibly kind and amenable. He went out of his way to accommodate our stay. He gave our school an incredible deal which was much needed as many of my students are low income. The hotel was clean, beds were comfortable, and all of our needs were met. I can not stress enough how kind and caring the owner was to my students. I know that high schoolers are often annoying and routey and therefore not always met by kindness from staff. But this owner helped my students repeatedly over two days and offered extra help that I haven't received even at some of the nicest hotels/resorts. I highly recommend staying here if you need a low cost, safe, and friendly stay.
Friendly, gracious people, well-lit, safe parking and a comfortable, sparkling clean room! This property is also conveniently located, walking distance to Costco, Auto dealerships on Del Monte, restaurants and shops. ||We were fortunate that Sand Castle Inn had vacancy on New Year's Day. Our son had car trouble traveling home. Sand Castle Inn was a comfy and welcoming place to stay a couple of nights whilst he and we awaited the auto dealership in Seaside to service his car. ||We'd happily stay at Sand Castle Inn again and if you're traveling through the Seaside/Monterey area, we recommend it.
Positive: The location is good, but the front staff are rude. Everything is done through a window. The old guy yells at customers to present ID and credit card instead of asking. We pay for the service and should be treated this bad. Negative: Try to stay somewhere else. Owners are cheap and rude. Diversity in the country is good, but when these people work with customers, they need to be respectful, provide customer service, and have courtesy. Rudeness should not be allowed.
Like going to a liquor store in a rough neighborhood. The location is great. My experience: We stayed one night as family trip. The floor was dirty and sticky stuff on it like soda or something some sort of sugar and water all over it. They only give you one key for your room. They have Keurig coffee machines and as you know, they are all plastic and keep old water in the tank. We stay away from these machines. The beds are comfortable, but the pillows are hard like a rock. My wife and I woke up with neck pain the next day. The worst: there is no customer service in the front desk. In fact, they are rude. When you come to them and you say good morning, they don't answer you back. The old lady seems bitter and has an attitude. She doesn't ask for things, she demands things from you. She says "ID!" The old guy does the same thing. There is an office, but it's locked. They only use a small wall window. If you have a family, don't send your kids to the office. They are rude and will yell at your kid if they come ask a question. I believe in diversity in this country, but if you work in customer service, you should learn to be respectful, have manners, and try to be friendly. This is what happened to Quizno's and Subway. No one wants to go there anymore.
Location is good and close to freeway and stores. Beds are comfortable, but the pillows are thick and hard like rock. I woke up with pain on my neck. There is zero customer service with the lady in the front.. I am all for diversity, but the lady in the front is rude, just to check in. The floor in our room was dirty and sticky. It had glossy and sticky stains throughout the floor. Given our experience with the rude lady at check in, we didn't even bother to ask them to clean. Owners seems very cheap and dirty. We only got one key. We don't plan to come back. If you can, find something better. Not worth staying here.
Walking distance to Target Store. Rooms: Clean & spacious but need a desk & chair + need box of tissue. Nearby activities: Nearby Monterey Aquarium, Carmel & Point Lobos State Park. Safety: Quiet & feel safe. Walkability: Costco & Target is 5 min walk. Noteworthy details: Its a decent Inn just to sleep & shower when youre on the go, but if youre staying more than 2 days, get a more luxurious hotel.
We continue to stay here as we pass through. Still a nice clean place and a good price!
Excellent I just stayed here omg for the price I received and service I will definitely be back thank you and only 3 min from the beach
Very comfy beds, spacious room with microwave and coffee maker, and friendly staff. highly recommend staying here if youre looking for a budget friendly option
There are a lot of sole proprietor hotels in this area. I ve stayed at a few. This is one of the better ones. Straightforward and clean. Not much else to say beyond that. If you have a choice given the pricing is close. Choose this one.
For the price, this is an excellent choice. Very clean and quiet. Helpful front desk. Very reasonably priced in a high price area. 10 minutes from Cannery Row.
Stayed here for one night on our road trip. Very affordable and exceeded expectations. Very clean, beds were comfortable, and had a cute beachy vibe to it. It s not brand new but it was still great :)
I NEVER write reviews but my experience here forced my hand. Stayed here for one night and had a horrible experience. When checking in, the desk clerk told me at least 3 times that there was no smoking. When I entered the room I was immediately hit with the worst smell of cigarette smoke - it was baked into the room. The desk chair felt like it was going to snap in half when sitting in it, and when I went to put leftovers in the fridge there was a slice of moldy pizza from the previous guest in there. Additionally, there were a couple of stains of something on the bed sheets. I called the front desk multiple times without answer before giving up and trying to go to bed - where there were people setting off fireworks into the late hours of the night (granted, that wasnt the motels fault). I would not recommend staying here - find another cheap motel to spend your money on. I would give 0/5 stars if it would let me.
The room itself is not so bad but the bathroom is outdated for sure. I wish I had picked a hotel instead of the inn. That s my wrong choice. The check in was smooth and Costco is 2 mins away that is nice. I will not stay here again though. I will stay at Monterey or Carmel next time.
Check-in and out was a breeze. We had a guaranteed 1st floor room, because I was recovering from surgery and couldn t climb stairs. We liked that parking was right in front of our room. Our room was right next to the laundry, which wouldn t have been a problem except that a pipe burst late at night and people were freaking out, trying to stem the flow of water, banging on the door and other things in that room. It sounded like they were IN our room with us! We peeked out a few times to ask them to please keep the noise down, and they did for a few minutes, but then it was back to the noise. Other than that the room and bed were comfortable and clean. The TV channels were great! We also really liked the mini-fridge that had an actual freezer compartment!!! Sad thing is I left my hand magnifying mirror when we left. So sad about that. I m not sure if we d stay here again in the future? Maybe if we were guaranteed a room away from the laundry. It was actually really convenient to Monterrey, Carmel and Big Sur. Saved a lot of money staying here versus there. So maybe.
Rather poor on the outside, but highly recommended, super clean rooms, room cleaning daily, very clean and well maintained, we felt at home
I had my wallet stolen out of the room while the maids were cleaning it, it was in one of my bags. I don t know why they were going through my things but my wallet is gone and it was the last day of our vacation. I did call the cops and file a report. Front desk said there was nothing they could do, they couldn t ask their staff or check the cameras. 0 stars from me.
Clean rooms, good price, great front desk experience.
Free parking & great service! Well be back!
Really nice property with very clean rooms and one of the most comfortable hotels beds I ve ever slept in. Excellent value for the price, would definitely stay here again.
Our stay at the Sand Castle was wonderful!. Clean rooms, comfortable beds. Perfect location close to everything. The management was great. Rooms: Room was updated and very comfortable. Nearby activities: Close to all site seeing attractions. Walkability: Easy walk to shopping and the beach.
Clean room, good bed newly freshened up. No breakfast no wifi, ok for a one nighter
Great place to stay! Clean and quite, slept well.
Clean and quaint. Friendly staff. Close to restaurants, walking distance to Costco, Target, Panera, Marshalls, Ross, World Market. Very quiet even though it is sitauted between two main thoroughfares. Just minutes from the beach.
Nearby activities: Walking around the beach Rooms
The Sand Castle Inn is a solid choice for either friends or family traveling on a budget. Our room was larger than average and had the feel of a business suite with 2 writing desks. Everything was clean and in well order, but the bathroom exhaust fan did not work and the refrigerator made an occasional whine during the night. Not a very scenic location, but close to all the basics.
Rooms were okay but nothing special, service wasnt that good, its very close to the ocean.
A motel that was clean and functional for its price. It was quiet at night and the bed was comfortable.
Considering the price this one of the best places I ever stayed at in the US. Super clean and has all the necessary equipments a 5stars hotel has.
The room smelled good when I first arrived. We dropped off our things and went straight to dinner. When we arrived back to our room the good, clean smell was gone. We found an old dessert in the refrigerator (gross) and the toilet was seat up like a guy had used it, not like it had been cleaned and sanitized. The chair in the room is stained so badly we had to put a towel over it to make it manageable. It was late, so we went to bed and let it go. Overnight we found change in our bed; change money in between our sheets. We paid a lot for this room because we had a dog. I do not recommend. Not worth the price, and possibly not even clean when you get there.
Great service!
Decent rooms
Enjoyed are stay here. Good value for the money. Good location near all the attractions. Room was well furnished, beds were comfortable. My only complaint was the pillows were much too large and firm, hard to sleep. Nice fridge with separate ice compartment. I particularly appreciated the water dispenser in the laundry and ice machine room to fill up our water bottles.
The room was ehh, its a motel so I didnt expect too much, but we did pay 140 for one night and the place was much more run down than the pictures lead you to think. Honestly, just pay a bit extra to not be in this area because it was super sketchy where we were. Didnt feel safe or comfortable there, and youre right next to this large alley that is heavily trafficked by the homless community. Constant screaming, firework pops, and the like. Safety: Felt incredibly unsafe. It is right next to this back alley thats frequented by screaming homless people.
We started our HW1 descent from SF to LA and spent one night here on the way. The double room is large, comfortable, and as described. The dune is right next door, as are the basic shops and restaurants, making it easy to stock up on supplies along the way. Good service and a quiet room were very much appreciated! We arrived quite late and left early, so we didnt get to explore the hotel much further. Rooms: Clean and supplied Nearby activities: Shops and Dune on foot! Food and drinks: Restaurants on foot
Great place to sleep. All amenities available, spacious rooms with everything you need for a comfortable and enjoyable stay.
I stayed here a couple of weeks ago and absolutely loved it! The workers were very welcoming and nice. The hotel rooms are pretty nice and very clean. The nights very very quiet and peaceful. Plus, this was the cheapest hotel I could find. Great location close to Monterey, Carmel, etc. I will definitely be staying here again!
Rooms: Simple and clean Rooms
Room was nice but overwhelming smell of bleach. In a good location close to coast line. Employee was extremely helpful.
I think its run by the same company as the nearby Sand Dollar Inn. This one is a little more expensive, but it has a coffee maker and the service is good too.
Clean and comfortable hotel for a one-night stay. Laundry service is available for $6 per wash and dry. The staff is very friendly. Rooms: Clean. Neat. Not luxury, but very nice and comfortable. They have a very comfortable refrigerator
Decent budget hotel in Monterey area. Room is clean and bed is comfortable. It is located next to a major shopping center. Therefore it is very convenient but a bit noisy during the day.
Clean and remodeled rooms. Comfortable. Easy access and parking.
Stayed here for one night. If you like things clean don t stay here. Location is great. Pet fee higher then Holiday Inn. Rooms
Clean and quiet budget hotel.
I originally booked this hotel with a friend who was coming on vacation with me. Unfortunately, last minute she couldnt come and I worried if I would feel comfortable and safe staying somewhere alone. I was very pleased with The Sand Castle inn. I had parking right in front of my room, I was near the office and the room was great. Everything was very clean, quiet and comfortable. There was a fridge, microwave and coffee maker in the room. Plus the location is great! Theres a shopping center a block away and many good choices for food. I stayed for 3 nights and will definitely stay here again when I vacation. Thank you!!
When we arrived our rooms were not ready. Twice this happened. The room smells with strong chlorine. The chair in the room is stained and looks dirty...Yucky!!! Air-conditioned makes a very loud noise.
Decent enough place, pet friendly, but watch out for the additional $40 per night per dog.
The location is good near shopping and restaurants and a short drive to most attractions. The room is ok, no sound proof, you can hear everything going outside or in the next room. The chair in the room was dirty. You will have to pay for late check out. The coffee machine in the room did not work properly
Cute and clean motel near the beach, restaurants, Monterey, and other sights. The room had all amenities that we needed, the staff was friendly, and there were small touches we enjoyed such as a picnic bench. The place felt safe too. We would stay here again when in the area!
Room was nice. Bathroom very small
Very friendly staff and clean rooms.
Up all night with noisy people next door. Owner said hed fix it but did nothing. Talked to him the next day and all I got was, Im sorry. Next time Ill stay somewhere else.
I m pretty sure whoever manages/ owns this hotel also has their family living here was woken up at 5:30am to a bunch of pounding (which sounded like furniture being rearranged) as well as hearing kids laughing and running around sure enough I look outside my window to a little girl playing with the window blinds and 2 little ponies . Like cmon there s people trying to sleep here that don t want to be placed next to a literal daycare overall if you re looking for a nice quiet place to sleep go ahead and skip this noisy child care facility!!
I am very impressed with this hotel. We are in town to visit family, and booked this place based on points on the site I was booking so we got an AMAZING deal. We walked in and you could smell how clean it is. They have bottles of soaps on the walls which is something I prefer to the small sample bottles, and it s super nice/good quality. I do recommend this place! Beds are comfy, rooms are cozy, but we still have enough space with our kiddos.
Rooms were decent enough. Beds didnt look all that clean. I got bit 5 times on my hands by some sort of insect. Dunno what. Service wasnt the greatest. Its fine if you get it for cheap, but avoid otherwise.
Great staff, Updated and clean rooms. Close to many good restaurants and shopping area.
I really enjoyed my stay here. The rooms were clean; what more can you ask for. My major issue is I was told there would be no cleaning service yet they did. In the process they threw out the lid to my tervis tumbler. Its less than $10 but its just the hassle and the fact that they came in and did that when they said they werent going to. As much as that irritated me, the folks that run this seem to be good people just trying to do the best they can so I would stay there again
Quant little inn with all the bare necessities for your Monterey or Seaside trip. Check in was flawless, had room key no more than 2 minutes after we arrived. Our room was clean, bed neatly made, towels and toiletries were present all without stain or blemishes. Only complaints I had was the TV being boarded up on the sides (made difficult to hook up game console, maybe have an extra HDMI hanging slightly out for guests), and the giant shipping container in the parking lot (it s tucked away but still an eyesore as to get to our room we had to walk past it, maybe hire an artist to paint it, would add some flare to the parking lot) But all things considered you get what you pay for and in terms of the Sand Castle, that s a very good thing- it s clean, modern, decently quiet, and close to the beach, all you need!
Very nice room. Newly remodeled. Clean. Comfortable.
Worth the price. Room is just fine.
Fine for one night if you re on a budget, but next time, I ll probably spend $50 more for a better hotel. Location is good. Felt like a safe part of town. Nearby several big box stores and chain restaurants (Target, Lucky grocery store, McDonalds, Wing Stop, etc.). About 10 minutes away from Cannery Row and Downtown Monterey. Check in was quick, but I had to check in at a window because the lobby was locked. I arrived midday. Don t know if this is a covid precaution, but it made me feel unwelcome. The room was clean and updated. I still think it could have used a deep clean, like shampooing the carpets and wiping down walls, headboards, etc. All of the metalware in the bathroom (toilet paper holder, soap dispensers) was completely rusted, which made me uncomfortable touching it. The room was spacious. Had a mini fridge, microwave, and coffee maker which I appreciated. It had a little balcony which was cute, though the view was the highway and Costco. Comfy bed. Other guests were respectful, not loud at all. Overall, it was fine, but I probably won t be back.
Stayed 3 nights. The room was nicely updated, the beds were comfortable, and the staff was very helpful. The location was amazingly close to Aquarium.
I stayed here for 2 nights (Sat & Sun). Nice room with modern interior, comfortable bed, and all the basic amenities. Its in a really convenient location off Del Monte yet very quiet at night. I had to get up very early for the Big Sur International Marathon, so I was thankful to have a good sleep beforehand. Check-in and check-out was easy. Staff are not on-site during the morning hours, so you just leave your key cards in the drop-box at checkout. Good experience overall, and happy with my stay.
Great prices and room and location!!!!!
I enioyed my stay(5 days). The room was clean and everything worked including the ac. Its close to many restaurants and stores. Negatives: No pool and no breakfast. Hole in the headboard ? and broken dresser drawer handle.
Sketchy location, possibly in the heart of the ghetto.
The room was normal and clean, except for the bathroom door which was full of hair. Parking and WiFi available. Everything was good.
Unless your tone deaf or enjoy trying to sleep next to the loudest road then I suggest not staying here. We use ear plugs and even with them we had a terrible sleep. The rooms are spacious and clean and the staff are lovely.
Very clean and comfortable only complaint being the she shower was a bit tricky ;)
Great place, very close to everything, the room was very clean and fresh! The bathroom was clean and clean towels, worth for the price , great location as well!
Very Nice room with modern interior, comfortable bed, and all the required amenities Nice central location , definitely we come back!! Rooms
I didn t expect this place to be so good. The room and the sheets were clean. I highly recommend staying here. Great budget find!
Room was OK. Horrible parking. Never enough for occupants. Had to use other businesses parking lots. No elevator for elderly, not disabled but a difficult climb on stairs. Office staff knew little about the Peninsula. Could not answer simplist of questions. We should have done more research before committing.
The room was super clean, we were surprised, the room smell clean and nothing else.
We have stayed many times and love it.
Inexpensive cute little room right off hwy 1 for a quick rest.
You always wake up with fog, noisy pre-war air conditioning used as heating. Clean bathroom but aesthetically unsightly. Mattress too soft. Horrible carpet but only in the upper rooms. Strategic location for no more than 2 days, convenient petrol pumps, Thai restaurant opposite worthy of a dinner.. Bring tea and sugar provided by the motel, only coffee with small sugar sachets.. Very clean. free wf but very slow.
I stayed here?
Very nice clean rooms
Newly renovated room was a great value for the price!
My room was very clean and comfortable! Lots of towels, very nice bathroom! Easy check-in process too
One of the cleanest hotel rooms I ve ever stayed in. The women at the front desk allowed us to check in an hour early and was extremely nice and helpful with getting everything set up since I forgot to bring my wallet that had my cards in it. We got food and forgot to get plates and silverware so a young man at the front desk was helpful enough to give me plates and forks to eat with. Checkout was extremely quick and easy and I appreciate the fact that they want to make sure each guest has a good stay and feels accommodated even if you have pets. I assume this is a family run business because the boy and little girl looked just like that lady that helped me check in. And it s great to see a family dynamic that works hard to provide a good service to its customers. We will definitely be staying here every time we come to Seaside!
Nearby activities: Beach is only 10 minute walk from the motel, very cool. Rooms
Pleasantly surprised with the room quality and cleanliness. Beds and pillows are comfortable, kind service, very clean comfortable near shopping. Would definitely recommend and stay again
Nice clean place and close to everything we did.
Wifi is God awful , have to relog in every 10 min. Rooms too close to street can hear all traffic
This is a great spot to stay in if your goal is to see what this beautiful coast has to offer. Its a clean, safe place and very affordable. Its an easy 15 mins drive to Carmel. Plus, there is a nice, safe beach right around the corner that has shells and sea glass. My only complaint is that there was no coffee, but that was because of covid. I would definitely stay here again, but would bring my Keurig. [Coffee is life]
Beds are Confortable Really Clean and spacious Room. Outside little Patio table and Chairs Staff is super friendly Definitely will be staying here again. Rooms : 5/5
Really clean rooms Staff was accommodating to my needs. Rooms
Very clean rooms and its a nice quiet area.
The rooms are really nice! Beautiful modern style. Well cleaned and maintained. I would stay here again! The reception lady is nice and friendly. The only issue I have was theres no coffee maker in the room. I didnt try asking the staff though. Maybe they have it on order.
Great location to stay bed was clean and comfortable.
Great clean always pleasent
Great spot! Comfortable and clean. I slept well and loved their shower.
Friendly place with great pricing
Well for starters I have stayed all over seaside and the lovely people at sand castle inn to there cleaning staff to there front desk to the management all amazing and just fantastic. The rooms are very clean and the beds are very comfortable I give them a 5 out of 5 and will be returning here again love this place!!!!! Always has a clean room ready for check in!!
Hotel is clean and ok..staff and owner dont seem to take instructions very well ... Do Not Disturb means guess what ?? Do Not Disturb !
For a 2 stars hotel is very affordable! The room is clean, organized nicely with a good smell. There is a refrigerator, microwave more than 2 mirrors and a lot of space!
So clean!
I was actually a little skeptical at first but I will say in the end I didn t have any issues at all. Everything was pleasant and I was a loner travel by myself so I always worry. The only reason I m giving a 4 is because there was a chair in my room with a lot of stains on it. Please replace it, other than that this is a MUST BOOK!!! Everything is pretty close by!!
Really clean, good location, great staff. Only thing to recommend is a coffee maker in the rooms.
Wonderful experience. We arrived a bit earlier than their check in time (3pm), but they let us check in early because they had a spot. However, there was some sort of issue with my payment card. Instead of making us wait, the owner (manager?) gave us the room key and said hed try it again later and give us a call if something went wrong. It all worked out, but I was very happy with how it was handled. Especially for the price, I was happy with the amenities. Internet was fast enough for streaming, though it wasnt a secure network. A/C was powerful, the TV had cable, and the fridge was surprisingly big. The entire room was spotless, with the only smell being the faint smell of cleaning products. If youre looking to stay close to Monterey for cheap, Id highly recommend Sand Castle Inn. Its close to a shopping center, but far enough away where its quiet. The singular complaint I have is that the internet network isnt properly secured, anybody can log on without a password. Luckily I have a VPN, but its worth mentioning. 10/10
Extremely dissatisfied with this hotel and especially the rudeness of the management. We stayed in an ADA room for one night. The hotel is very old and noise factor is annoying. My biggest complaint, however, is the visible black mold on the underside of the shower bench (which is a vinyl covered padded bench- not at all sanitary). Upon bringing it to management s attention this morning, their first response was, we cannot refund you for the night because you stayed here - why didn t you mention it before? I informed them that I noticed it this morning when using the shower, but they didn t care. I finally got them to refund a whopping $25 for the night, and was able to find another hotel for the rest of our stay. I do NOT recommend this hotel to anyone!
Nice.
Great place, next to everything, very clean I Would give it 5 stars but the older gentleman that works there was very rude and unpleasant upon check in.
I was very happy with this hotel! Rooms are clean, location is great. Walking distance from beach. Price is reasonable.
Excellent place. Clean and very close to Monterey and Carmel attractions.
Clean, comfortable, and the staff was friendly. Will be visiting again
Check in was quick and efficient. The room was neat and clean. The bed wss comfortable. Close to restaurants and shopping. Rates were very reasonable compared to other sites nesrby.
not clean
It was a very good value for the money. The room was clean, smelling good and the property looks well maintained.
Amazing motel!
Specious. clean and very nice front desk clerk and maids, pet friendly with 40$ per pet extra per night,,,,great location near stores and restaurants, very pleasurable stay
Room was clean and recently remodeled. Also featured a sizable balcony. A short drive to more than one public beach, its a great deal for the area
Super clean room. Hotel was super quite. It is super close to everything!
Clean and staff is friendly
Balling on a budget this gem is hidden right behind my go-to Seaside hotel where I am obsessed with keeping my Diamond rewards going strong, so I havent been so brave in Monterey when it comes to trying new spots. This place is clean quiet and doesnt smell like my former psychotic homeless life in 1997. Youd be surprised how many still do. The manager is on point with his state of the art smoke alarms that alert the neighborhood if you even think about burning some popcorn to cover up the smoke odor in your pipe. Dont lose that cash deposit buddy. In summary this place is the best $99 Ive spent this year and I was in a room on the bottom by the office A+
Great room great price
Very clean and well maintained. The staff were friendly and helpful. Close to everything. I would recommend staying here.
Driving from San Fran to LA on HWY 1, I stopped in Monterey for dinner and needed a place to sleep for a night. I didnt want to spend a fortune. I started looking around on Google for motels, and was lucky enough to find the Sand Castle in Sand City! This place is a GREAT value! Its been recently updated: the inside, outside and parking lot are all clean, fresh and new! I felt very safe, check in was easy, the hosts are friendly, and you cant beat the price! I will def be staying here again!! THANK YOU!!
Excellent customer service at the front desk by the owner. Gorgeous rooms inside. Very clean and updated decor. Comfy bed. Shutters for window coverings. Granite countertop and freestanding sink.
You get what you pay for
Clean, great bargain for the location. Interior of room looks much more modern than the exterior would suggest, but the hotel in general is in good condition.
I always stay here in my business trips, is a nice quiet place. They used to have LAN connection now they only have Wi-Fi.
We ve been on a two week road trip and stayed at hotels ranging from $100-200/night. This was the cheapest hotel we stayed at on our entire road trip and it was the top two cleanest and nicest ones as well. I would definitely come back to this hotel if I were staying in the area again.
The Homeless surrounding the Sand Castle property can be heard yelling obscenities and rummaging through trash throughout the night. The Sand Castle website suggests its close to Cannery Row in Monterey, however its miles away in the worst part of the neighboring community of Seaside. Theres no coffee maker in the room or breakfast offered like the nearby Econo Lodge.
It is located perfectly in Seaside and is located only minutes away from some major eateries and shopping locations. The rooms are very cozy and the bed are so comfy.
things are good. good repair, new furniture, luxury beds. But the floor is dirty. Maybe not supposed to walk barefoot.
The room was clean and modern. The shower felt great, and the bed was comfy. If you dont like a very soft mattress, though, you might not like it. Only issue I had was that I could easily hear guests walking around and talking outside my door late at night. But I guess thats how motels are.
I really enjoyed my 2 night stay at this Inn. Seems like all the rooms were recently remodeled and they all have working appliances. Its a great locationince Its walking distance to the beach and a shopoing center. Everyone was very kind. The only reason for 4 stars is that I heard some scratching in the walls from some mice most likely. All in all, I will be staying here again.
Great place, quite, clean, great spot 5mins from everything u need or wanna be.
Beds and pillows were super comfy, room was clean and bathrooms had plenty of towels. House keeping was excellent and so was the front desk staff, really enjoyed my stay here!
Polite staff and nice cozy affordable rooms
clean and spacious, and the price is decent for the area too.
Great place for its perfect location
Great price clean room
Well priced, clean room, microwave and tv, nice staff.
Nice little motel in seaside, quite, clean bed was comfortable, and not to expensive .
Really clean and very spacious and super quiet.
It was a nice room! Comfy bed, fridge and microwave in the room, large walk in shower (handicap accessible), linoleum flooring.
Decent little motel in seaside California. cheaper than staying in Monterey proper definitely cheaper than staying in Pacific Grove
This hotel was very clean and quiet. Wonderful experience visiting Sea Side. Very accommodating and comfortable.
Heartless, cruel and rude to people even in difficult situations. Worst hotel experience in all of my travels... which has been vast and all across the country. Dont support mean people, stay somewhere else!
Loud obnoxious people still and its past 2. I know the office can hear them.
The Sand Castle Inn was pretty awesome. There was ample parking. It was easy to get to. The staff was helpful and I believe their front desk runs 24/7; when their doors are closed, their window (with bell) is open. The rooms are in very good shape; the decor is nice and up to date; the room itself was very clean; it was stocked with usual appliances, but they were of good quality; the linen/furniture was nice and soft; the water was hot and pressurized. The room was comfortable, inviting, and smelled good. My partner and I paid $99 for a room for one night on Saturday night into Sunday morning with no reservations, and its located near the ocean. Not that Im hard to please, but I was highly impressed with the room for its offer of quality for its price. I would definitely stay here again, it was very comfortable and enjoyable;^{)>
Clean refurbished rooms.
Indian-run hotel, hygienic
Clean, quiet, and close to the fairgrounds
It was good for an overnight stay. Beds were ok, towels looked very dated. We checked in late in the evening but the reception staff made us feel so unwelcome that I almost felt bad for being a guest at this hotel.
The pillows are so uncomfortable. The room just ok. There was a uncomfortable smell when I enter the room.
Everything was very good! :)
Very very clean...such a nice staff and beautiful place
The manager was most accommodating in every aspect
Beautifully manicured gardens .The rooms are nicely remodeled and clean clean clean! Well worth it.The only thing that would make it better would be a pool /game room
Its not terrible.
One of the nicer motels Ive ever stayed in, and at a rate thats unbelievable. I highly reccomend if youre looking for a sport and dont necessarily mind being a mile from the beach
They have bed bugs. Seriously a lot of bed bugs. I sitted on the bed for 20 minutes, and got 25 red bumps all over my body, shoulders, legs, arms and butt... I had a terrific night and had to throw away my suitcase just in case I wont bring any bed bugs eggs to my house. When I checked their sheet, I see a lot of tiny black dots. These are but bugs themselves, but the blood of other custumers, including mine.
Clean and close to a lot
Clean room
Bed was NOT comfortable. The rooms were nice but the bathtub faucet leaked heavily and kept me awake
Nice motel to spend one or two days....
Sheets had stains, the bathroom shower felt far too narrow, and though large the bed bowed in the middle in a way that would be considered comical if it were not so uncomfortable. The room felt otherwise clean, no roaches to speak of. The sign claimed there was still vacancy but if so their parking lot certainly didnt seemed equipped to handle it. Would not recommend.
The room is okay. They dont have complementary breakfast. Just coffee and tea in the office. They are very rude the owners of the hotel. Im sso glade we are leaving monday. I will not stay here again. Rooms
I love the hotel!
What a lovely spot! Love the microwave and little refrigerator in our room. Would definitely return
This place is an amazing value. The rooms are super clean and spacious and either recently renovated or built. Very nice customer service as well. The location isn t great as it s on an auto mall but if you don t care about that then you re good.
Is it more or less?
Nice clean rooms updated.
Correct quality-price hotel, clean rooms with everything you need to rest.
Looks weird and motelly from outside. It is located near a lot of car dealerships. Not much to do around. But the accommodation itself is lovely. Once comfortable beds. Clean and well maintained. The staff/owners were lovely too. We had no issues at all
Accommodation located near Carmel and Monterrey, less than 10 minutes by car from the 17 mile drive or the start of Big Sur. Numerous beaches and other marine attractions. It has parking. We stayed in a room on the second floor, with recently renovated furniture. The room was clean. The bed was comfortable and silence reigned throughout the night. Bath and shower operated at adequate temperature and pressure The staff was friendly and helpful both on arrival and departure. The wifi worked well. The quality/price ratio was acceptable. The area is quite expensive and this was one of the motels that offered the most for its price.
So far so good great people at the front desk great room immaculate housekeeping close to every The Price is Right
Problems with service dogs and laws. It seems a common thing for these types of places to be confused about the actual laws when it comes to service dogs. It is against the law to ask for proof or paper work for service dog because these registeries literally do not exist. Service dog paper work can literally be purchased on amazon making it really trusting and confusing to us who have real trained medical alert dogs. Please update your business practice. Google is free. It is against the Americans with disabilities act to deny service to someone or charge extra or even ask for proof due to a service dog. My medical history and disability is no ones business just mine and my doctor who gave me my diagnosis.
Clean rooms, closet space was small but okay since I was the only one there. Small sink outside of bathroom/shower which was fine with me. Toilet flushes from the room upstairs seemed loud? Fast food restaurants nearby & small shopping mall also close by.
This is an inexpensive hotel. It was fine for the night I stayed there. Monterrey is a great place.
Good facilities just a little out of the way
The room above me would not be quiet the entire night. I even went upstairs and talk to them. that didnt work so I can call the hotel management and that didnt work and they wouldnt help me.
Very clean & fresh... This place was much better than i expected...i was very surprised how nice & new everything was... It came with good quality hygiene products...my stay here was as good as some higher piced hotels ive been to... Definitely the best rooms & value you can find in the area! Would happily stay here again in the future
The Indian guy in front desk is rude. Not recommending this
Great service the room was clean and dog friendly
Nice, clean and friendly service. I booked a room for a friend who visited us here from out of state and she really liked it.
Very clean and in good shape and excellent price
