Rick's Mercedes Works in Scotts Valley

Rick did a very fine job with my 1981 Mercedes Benz W123 diesel. While other Santa Cruz independent Mercedes shops willfully dismissed this car and myself as absurd relics, Rick and his colleagues did a thorough and complete service with a skill that I can well recommend to others with enthusiasm. He was able to focus on the most pressing needs present in the car and set doable priorities for the vehicle's maintenance now and in the future. I can especially commend him for the restoration of the driver's seat. After 44 years, this item wears out on these vehicles. He secured all the relevant parts of excellent quality to repair the seat. His shop features a parts depot with materiel of excellent quality.

Rick is very experienced at what he does but newer Mercedes are not really his thing. He would always over complicate things and cause the price to be insane. He was quoting me double what I was getting quoted at a difference Mercedes specialist in San Jose. Nice guy, knows whats he’s doing but just be ready if you’re going to him with a newer car.

My car died in the Santa Cruz mountains. Had it towed Thursday at 5:15. Rick was still there. We reviewed the car's current problems he said early next week he would be able to work on it. Rick called the following day and diagnosed the problem!! Awesome job. Love Rick's Mercedes! Top Notch!!

I took my sprinter van here and I'm really glad I did, Rick and his crew did an amazing job with my van . This is the absolute best place to take your Mercedes (or sprinter van ).

Very knowledgeable about all things Mercedes. Not your run of the mill shop, Rick is a great mechanic with decades of experience. Very professional with a knowledgeable staff exceptional customer service. Familiar with all eras of Mercedes’ and capable of dealing with your vintage Benz.He can find the parts that no one else can. Don’t waste your time going to another mechanic for your prized Benz. He is currently fixing my 1965 Unimog that was incorrectly serviced and damaged by a very expensive “Mercedes”” mechanic in Monterey.(review to follow) Highly recommended!

Best local Mercedes mechanic in SV! Rick always takes time to personally explain what’s going on with repairs and service. I have bought numerous new MBZ and ALL service has been done with Rick. The ‘stealerships’ deliver my new car (always pre-purchased via a car buying website), but they never see that lot again after I drive away. It’s nice to know there’s an honest mechanic out there!

12/10 recommend Ricks. The day my check engine light came on they took my car back for diagnostics, Rick called me himself and in terms this layman could understand explained the issue(s) and worked with me on a treatment plan. He verified with me before he charged for any labor or parts and was aware of costs. He felt like an uncle, I trusted him immediately. They are my go to for all services my Mercedes is in need of, oil changes and light bulb replacement included.

A master at his craft, Rick is professional, meticulous, detailed and very results-focused. He's been here a real long time too, as has his tech Willy, and they make a great team for any of your MBZ needs. And they service Sprinter too!
