Tony and his assistant are very competent, courteous, flexible accommodating and customer service oriented. I also learned recently that Tony is an exceptionally honest person. PRECISION is the best.
Tony is incredible . One of the most efficient guys I’ve even met . Also with the highest integrity . He has been tuning up my sister’s car for decades and so wonderful to her . Now I just go to him as well.

First I would like to say thank you for your service. I love to service my truck on this spot. Because they are very friendly. And they know about work quality. This past week we brought my truck and my son sport car. And we were very impressed. On how serious they take the work they both of those two guys working there.they both make a perfect team work. The guy working on the desk. It’s always on and out. Helping. All Santa Clara neighbors should try that at least once.
Went there for a basic tune up told me it would cost 850.00 to change the spark plugs and wires in my car is a 1998 Toyota so I checked around found 3 shops charging 200 to 300 for the same job I got it done for 280 my car runs great I wrote this review so others know what to expect from this guy
Just be more careful if you go there. Those 2 guys there (especially the shorter ones), he is ready to give you all kinds of lies to sell you any service they can with almost double the market price. My daughter went there last week for a smog check, and they charged her $65 and told her you need brake pads replacement (we did them 2 months ago)!! Smog check anywhere is about $50 or even less (29.99 plus 8.25 certificate). Just make yourself a favor and find honest people to work with.
Precision Tune Auto Care is the only place I bring my vehicle to when I get the dreaded DMV smog test/certification letter. The cost is reasonable and the customer service is friendly. You can call ahead and get a rough estimate of costs/turnaround. I've been coming here for years and have never had a bad experience with ANY of the employees here. When I do get my vehicle smogged, I can drop it off and walk to the many stores that are walking distance from this shop. But honestly by the time you get to Target or Chick-fil-A, you can expect a phone call telling you that your vehicle is ready to be picked up! The shop doesn't look like much but it's definitely a diamond in the rough waiting to be discovered.
They got me in and out for an oil change and tire rotation, less than half hour, I may have gotten lucky going on labor day weekend, but good service without the arm and leg charges.

These guys are honest and kind.
They were reasonable. Paying for failed smog test never feels good. So one star deducted .
On the phone they said different price. Tried to charge me $10 more upfront. If you do inspections for your lights they will charge you $20 for small 50 cents bulb
The stereotype of a mechanic trying to rip you off is very real here there s no prices on the board in the office for a reason called in for a quote for my brakes when I arrive I paid immediately right after they tell me I have a special type of brakes and it s $90 more even through I told him on the phone what kind of car I had I ended up giving him $50 extra after he already processed my card it very shady and sketchy I only giving 1 star because they did a good job otherwise

Fast and friendly service. Prices are competitive especially if you can find a coupon. Would have been even better if they wore gloves during this pandemic. I would not mind paying 25 cents extra for the cost of their gloves.
I called and talked to them about the price of oil change I told them that I changed all the time $65 can you do same they said yes when they change my car oil they charge extra and explain why they said it is our price.

They are honest, professional, transparent and price competitive! They send me pictures for the evidence to change and ask for approval. Also pretty fast service!
Tony takes care of his customers. Had a smog check done in less than 30 minutes even with a few cars ahead of mine. Ive been a regular customer for several years now. This is my go-to place for a smog check. Keep up the good work and thank you!

These guys at the Santa Clara location are the most honest mechanics I have been to in the Bay Area. Tony is a gem!! Ive been going here for a decade and persuaded my sister and brother to go here too. They are the best! Also, Ive taken older cars and new cars here - the great service is always consistent.

Charged me $140 to smog my Jeep because its a 1991. When I tried to smog my 90s Miata here a year or so ago it was the same story. Other places can smog 90s cars for 90 bucks. They also seemed to imply that they couldnt smog it at all. I had to push them to even do it since I was under a time constraint. A very poor experience. I hate to leave bad reviews but this place left a bad taste in my mouth.

My brakes started squealing, so I went in to get the pads replaced, but the guy did a quick check and told me it wasn t my pads, then gave me a few things to look for when driving, and told me a couple ways I could get the most likely problem fixed most economically if I wanted to later. Friendly, knowledgeable, AND honest! Very pleased with this shop!

I went today in the morning to get an oil change and the owner was great! He was honest and friendly but overall the service was fast. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE I will come again for any future service on my car.

Did the brake and lamp inspection for dmv. After failing the test i was given a free retest and many options on how to fix it. I chose to fix it myself and got brake and light inspection certification.
Got my Brakes done. They did a wonderful job. Very good recommendation of services given by the owner. Will go back to them again. Cheers :)
Pressure of one my tire getting low in 20~30 days, they not only fix that tire but also checked other tires without any charge.I highly recommend this place for any auto service/repair need.
Smog check here not too long ago. Very quick smog test. Star Certified smog check station as well.
Removed a nail and patched up a tire quickly and inexpensively, with no appointment on a Monday afternoon. Great service!
Very friendly, fast, and courteous service. Went in for an oil change and brake pad replacement and discovered that I needed new rotars as well. Job was done in less than two hours which I appreciated. Will definitely go back.

I have been using this shop for a while mostly for oil change, brakes etc. Recently had power steering pump replaced at very good price. No issues so far. Good Service. updated 7/28/17 Its been a while since I used precision tune Santa Clara. Need to get some repairs done recently-timing belt, water pump and others on my old lexus GS300. Tried few places but finally decided to have it done at precision tune. No hassle, got ride back to work. Car was done same day.
I was in bay area week ago. I bought used car for my husband . The honda odyssy salvage title The seller go with me to DMV to transfer under my name the DMV ask me brake & lamp certificates also smog certificate . I search on line every shop I call they only expect aappointment and dont have enough time due to I am 150 mile away from my home I call precimsio tune auto care santa clara they told me walk in any time 8 to 5 Monday to Saturday . I Drove from DMV to this location guess what I was out with in half hours. They give me brake and lamp certificate and smog certificate price was good. The person on counter was very helpful I recommend this place
They Done Brake for my car same day they return my car back to me and price was good they did front and rear rotor pad the surprise for is they did free oil change for me with brake service

Last year my old VW wouldnt pass smog. Another place wanted to do lots of expensive repairs. These guys cleaned out my oil system and added a good quality oil and cleaned out the engine for me. Passed like a charm.

Caught them in a lie! I arrived at 11am on Sunday 9/29/13 for a 90k service on my vehicle (called first to arrange it). At almost 5p they said my car was done. I was at the shop for MOST of the service and was skeptical as to what was done, as the shop was quite busy and I didnt see 6 hours of work done on my vehicle. I had known that my brakes were bad going into the service (as they have been for more than a year). When I asked, how are my brakes at the time of checkout, I was told, they look good. At that point I told them I knew they hadnt checked them, a service included in their 90k Maintenance Schedule . After a lot of excuses from Precision Tunes staff, including an offer to give me $30 off when I wanted to get my brakes done, they submitted to refunding me $50 of the more than $500 I was charged. When I arrived home I checked their Maintenance Schedule to find that spark plugs were to be replaced as part of the service. I, however, was charged an additional $99.80 for them. To be fair, it does mention that platinum plugs are extra however, at no point was I asked, or did I consent to getting platinum spark plugs. At this point, I don t know exactly which services were and weren t done. Needless to say, I m pretty upset. I m checking to see how/where I go about finding somebody/someplace that can verify ANY of the service that was supposed to be done. I d like to give these guys some credit, as they were very busy and there were only 2 to 3 of them throughout the day. However, hard work is one thing and honesty is another. Until they get the honesty part down, I d steer clear of Precision Tune Auto Care.
I am going on this location for long time I will say more than 10 years. They are always treat me good and give ma a good service.
They asked me to leave my van there and my car increase 140 miles over weekend, and did not fix anything. There was crashed on my van on right side. I asked the paper for leaving my car there, and he did not give to me. Finally, he told me that he doesnt want to repair for my car and do not go back. My bad luck!
Been using these guys for a while. Always less expensive than his competitors. He is very accomodating, caring and easy to work with. doesntrecommend something if you dont need it. Would HIGHLY recommend these guys (this specific store).
