Coastal Auto Repair in San Diego

We love the team at Coastal Auto Repair and have been going to them for a couple of years now. They are honest, happy to take your care whenever they are open, and all around good people. They always let us know what things really should be done and what things can wait, vs a dealer who tells you everything under the sun is an emergency. There’s no place we will take our cars as long as we are in PB!

I am not one to usually write reviews, but since I relied solely on reviews to find this place I can confirm they are excellent! Time efficiency, cost, and communication exceeded expectations. Happy I found a local spot to go to for all my car needs moving forward.

We had a GREAT experience at Coastal Auto Repair. We've taken our Shoreline Community Services van there several times for work. We like that they give an honest diagnosis and don't try to upsell (the worst!). The are efficient and friendly. Excellent service - on time and on budget!

Everyone I interacted with was honest, demonstrative, and acted with transparency to get my car fixed. I felt like the owner, Ian, tried to work not only to repair the car but looked out for my best interest and that is an honorable and rare way to conduct yourself professionally. I miss this place since moving to Escondido and encountering less-reputable mechanics! They always treated me well here, gave me options based on what I needed for my desires and how long I was trying to keep some old cars going. I came away from my experiences here trusting them, and I love the front desk guy. He’s so reasonable and grounded and made me comfortable. It made sense that he was an ex-Marine.

Clear, direct communication, great and timely work. Solid pricing. Everything organized. Great energy at this auto shop, day and night difference compared to a different shop I had my car at before and knew I had to come here. I am very grateful to the Coastal Auto team, Ian, Justin. 5-star experience at Coastal Auto Repair!!! From start to finish. My alternator went out- got towed there. FRIENDLY, HONEST team here :) 110% RECOMMEND! Got everything fixed for a decent price, no price gouging. Quick work. Got my car back within 24 hours. Thanks Justin, Ian, & the team. Will be back for any other auto repairs.

The only place I will take my toyota tundra 2006 pickup. I actually live in az and drove it over just so these guys can work on it. Amazing job as usual. Also super fair pricing.
