Tony, David, and the team at Monterey Transmission in Salinas were incredibly helpful and professional - I cannot recommend them enough. We limped into the shop late on a Saturday afternoon while traveling down the 101 towing a trailer. Without missing a beat, Tony identified the problem and gave us an on-the-spot estimate for both time and cost. His estimates were fair, reasonable, and ultimately spot-on to the actual cost and time needed with no surprises. He was very communicative throughout our repair. In a little over a week with our truck, Tony and the team replaced our transmission and radiator, upgraded our trans oil cooler, and completed several other items that I had been putting off to avoid down time in a shop. Most importantly, Tony carefully considered how we use our vehicle and made transparent, honest, and reasonable expectations based around our needs and use of the truck. They did a differential rebuild for a very reasonable price. The people are very friendly and provided great service. I have a 2012 Shelby GT500 and wanted to also replace my differential cover. They were really good about following the correct torque specs for the part I wanted. I would recommended to anyone who values their car and need service done! I had been having troubles with a different shop and this place was able to get me in and do the exact work I wanted with all the Ford OEM parts of my request.

Amazing service! They installed my rough country lift kit 37 inch tires and 2 inch spacers on my 2022 Ford Bronco Sasquatch i really recommend this place tony and David always go above and beyond! Anything you need for your vehicle! 5 star place! Definitely will be coming back here!

Tony from Monterey transmissions in Salina’s took care of my ram Promaster van. My transmission was blown 5 hours from my home, I got stuck In Salina’s 8 min drive from Monterey transmissions. Luckily for me I was towing my race car so I contacted Tony and dropped off the van on a Sunday and drove back home with my race car Tony was very kind and made sure the transmission rebuild will be 100%, he used aftermarket billet parts and also he installed a much bigger transmission oil cooler because he knows I am towing often. Very happy with the results ,everything works perfect and I do recommend Monterey transmissions!

Came to Monterey Transmission in need of a new transmission on my 2014 Hylander. They found me a new transmission from the Toyota dealership with a 12 month warranty unlimited miles. I brought it my 98 Ram 1500 for a new transmission rebuild. I ended up getting a lot more than that. My truck got a new alternator, tension pulley, brakes, shocks, tune-up, oil change. The guys over at Monterey Transmission are the real deal! They build all kind of transmissions from stock to wild drag racing transmission. It was extremely hard to find a reliable shop that would build my 1000hp corvette a transmission capable of holding the power, but the guys at Monterey transmission were able to figure out my prior issues and get me going with all the upgrades needed. Tony and his dad at Monterey Transmission did a great job on my transmission upgrade and axle rebuild. The attention to detail they provided was exactly what I was looking for on my custom truck. They are currently rebuilding my Dana 44 axle with all new parts. I am eagerly waiting to see it finished as the 12 bolt rear end, 700r4 transmission rebuild and transfer case I have received are exceptional. They are very knowledgeable and fairly priced.
