Motel 6 Marina, CA - Monterey in Marina

In response: yet it has happened before. Why would i pay and risk returning to the same? Mold in the shower, (we cleaned it ourselves),but otherwise ok.

This is the best motel 6 I have ever visited. The staff is helpful and the beds are so comfy.

The room was over priced for two nights and the room wasnt cleaned properly.

Tiny uncomfortable rooms with quick cheap reno (paint peeling off) no soundproof (can hear neighbors tv), not clean (hair in shower and sink), strange vibe overall Seems they care only about money

Very well located, we stopped on the way to Big Sur

So arriving there on September 20th because September 21st going to be my daughters 9th birthday that will book there cuz you want to go to the aquarium Monterey so were about to fall asleep and we noticed the sheets they were staying and when I go the front desk as you can see with the photos the phone have filthy was and then the little thing that they give you know they can put your thing it was broken so I told him to remove it cuz they didnt want them to think they was us and we could charge for it other than everything was fine but the best stain oh god he will see what the photos

Rooms: Simple, but clean. Nearby activities: Beach, Dennys on site, nearby shopping. And the racetrack - Laguna Seca. Safety: Cameras and quiet. Food and drinks: Theres vending machines and they offer fresh coffee in the morning. Noteworthy details: Great price for the location.

I have stayed in other motels... this is a very quiet motel.. Sleeping Here is wonderful.. I am still here after 10 days.. If I get hungry I walk to Dennys.. if I need other stuff like a case of water I walk to Walmart... The Beach is 5 blocks down the road.. Super Clean Room.. Staff is friendly and smiles.. all the time...and if I need towels their service is great.. 5 stars.. Today is my 20th day staying at this Motel 6.. Thursday October 24th...1030am. I decided to throw my trash out.. On opening the door I saw a plastic bag with pieces of bread. I picked it up and was going to put it in the trash can. I saw a man walking by me and I asked sir do you work here. He looked at me and said no. Sir if you do you walk by here every day.. No.. if You work here you could at least throw this bag of thrash sitting here by my window.. He ignored me and I was walking talking to his back.. I saw him enter the employee door to the office.. I saw him there and I asked his name and he covered it up.. The young man in the desk heard and saw.. his behavior. I asked the young man if that man was the owner of the Motel. He said he is maintenence. I saw a card on the counter Regeena Lal General Manager. She was just arriving. I mentioned to her the very RUDE and Disrespectful behavior of the maintenence man.. She said she would have a talk with him.i just wonder HOW many other GUESTS have encountered and dismissed the behavior of this employee representing Motel 6. Customer Service cannot be learned by counseling it comes from inside the person as well as being respectful of all MOTEL 6 GUESTS. Rooms: Very clean Room.. Love it.. I was surprised when I walked in the room so neat and fresh smelling. I highly RECOMMEND this motel... I am an Army Veteran 24 years Military Service.. Walkability: Walking distance to Dennys Restaurant.. Walmart.. Gas station.. Beach.. Food and drinks: Walmart is 3 blocks away.. for all your needs.. Water.. Sodas.. they have a Deli.. cheaper than Restaurants in Downtown Monterey

In general we love it and it make our stay in Marina very good and comfortable. I put 4 stars because of the hair on the towel and the old bathroom. But overall everything clean and new.

Large motel that we chose because it was the cheapest in the Monterey area But we didnt get the room right.

Great example of you get what you pay for. Rooms werent anything special and had a few ants. Never got the wifi to work. When we got there at check-in they said our rooms werent ready and to come back in an hour. Thankfully they just switched us to 2 other rooms so we didnt have to wait. The location is phenomenal, just a quick walk from the beach. Nearby activities: Its walking distance from marina state beach.

They are still using COVID as an excuse to not put out basic toiletries while allowing websites to advertise the rooms as fully functional. Such a bait and switch. The room was dirty, and the owners are cheap and rude. Just because you own a business doesnt mean you should be doing customer service. Never again!

1st, the checkin was amazing. The lady who checked us in was very professional, courteous, and friendly. She was very professionally dressed as well. Great 1st impression. We had originally scheduled a three night stay, we stayed one night. The place has deteriorated in recent years and now it doesnt feel safe. The person at the counter requires an ID for every adult staying in the room, that is not a requirement at other hotels; I wonder why Motel 6 is doing that. The windows do not have blinds and the curtains do not block all light specially when you are trying to sleep. Another thing, they only had one person at the counter on a Saturday evening and she was so busy with so many ppl trying to check in. Whoever runs this place should have at least two ppl at the counter. Safety: Unsafe

The room was clean and the staff was friendly and attentive. I was looking for a place to rest on my trip, nothing fancy, and I got exactly what I was looking for. Bonus: the pillows are soft and comfy and theres a Dennis right next to it Nearby activities: Theres a Goodwill a short drive away if you like thrifting

Good hotel for an overnight stay on the stage, beach within walking distance, and a Walmart right next door! Dannys Breakfast is right next door! Coffee is also available at the motel in the morning, and the staff is friendly.

Clean. Close walk to the ocean and beach. Safe. Good value. If youre just looking for a comfortable place to sleep this is a good spot. Its no frills beyond there. The location is great, sure. Service was great, yep. Dog friendly, mmhmm. But the room and experience? Awful. There was dog hair in our blankets. When I walked barefoot on the floor, my feet had a nasty yellow/broken film on the bottom. The water pressure in the shower was non-existent. And finally, we could not sleep. We stayed over the weekend and we were kept up all night because we could hear everything--people partying, music, people showering, flushing toilets, and one dude who left his TV on all night. Youll save some money staying here, but I wish I had spent some more so I could have enjoyed the whole trip all around.

Rooms are great except that the AC smells like a wet dog.

I chose this hotel to visit Monterey and Santa Cruz, clean, quiet with attentive staff, in the morning there is coffee but if you want more there is a Dennis next door

Quick walk to the ocean across the highway. Denys is right next door. Its arguably a great location. We booked the trip with the idea of not being in the room for anything but sleep. The room was perfect for that. The room itself is small, and I mean small. We brought our own everything and only stayed the one night. The walls are thin, and the rooms are packed together tightly. Lots of people smoking just outside.

Great location, simple motel, you have a bed, shower and TV, thats it....camping in a motel Rooms: Small room, no coffee maker, no hairdryer, you can ask for extra towels, useful if you are there for 5 nights. Not a special motel, but you only sleep there. There is no cleaning, after 3 days everything smells like wet laundry..

This motel 6 only cares about the money and it is NOT worth it.... The bathroom door would get stuck constantly and almost locked me in. The doors paint was peeling off and would get everywhere. In the room someone stuffed a nasty sticky gummy between the wall dresser cubby things and there looked to be some kind of poop or blood smear on the wall. The bed constantly moved. No microwave no mini fridge. Stains on the towels.. And yet with no amenities they charge ridiculous prices. Charged us over $250 for one day. And when asked if we could stay an additional 3 days they wanted over 500 dollars!! It is not worth it!!! Motel 6 hotels are acting like they are 5 star hotels but they are not! And its not just this location many Motel 6 locations are doing this. Its very disappointing..

Have stayed here before and have had a overall good experience. There is plenty of parking. Located close to restaurants, the beach and Monterey. The exterior is a bit dirty. ( Motel 6 vibe) New security lights which are good but they are placed RIGHT outside your room and the curtain cant darken the room. Which isnt ideal for sleep conditions. Surprisingly quiet despite being next to highway 1. Cell mates which relatively quiet . Dog friendly Staff was welcoming.

5 stars for the most powerful faucet, literally sprays in my face every time i turn it on.

Booked this place last minute on the way up to SF. I was pleasantly surprised with especially the room and the property being clean and quiet. I did not have much expectations but it was the only hotel showing reasonable prices and availability for a last minute booking. Check in was efficient and the room was not bad. It was a bit small but we got an upgrade for a room with Microwave and Fridge. I m satisfied with my stay majorly because of cleanliness.

Overall it was okay. The location was nice as it was next to several restaurants and a Walmart. The front desk staff was friendly as well. However, the cleanliness of the room wasn t the best, as there were several hair/fur on the bathroom door and the bathtub along with stains. Shampoo and lotion weren t provided and you had to purchase them separately. The bed was comfortable but the blankets were pretty thin so I got cold overnight.

I had the chance to meet 2 German men traveling on motorcycles. They were real excited about here and loved the rooms they had. Real nice motel 6.

We have stayed here a few times in the past and loved it. The last time we went I had forgotten my drivers license (my husband was driving) at home. They wouldnt check us in because they said they needed to see both our licenses even though my son texted me my license to show them. The lady at the front desk was incredibly rude. I have NEVER had a hotel or motel ask for both of our ids before. We wont be going back to this one which makes me sad because we liked staying there.

Bed was really comfortable. Bathtub is small. You have to pay $20 a night for basics like coffee maker and fridge. No cleaning service unless asked. Im ok with no cleaning, but others may not be; there is sand from all the beaches:). Close to everything and Monterey Bay. Walmart next door.

I got a room here a couple of times while in Marina. Clean, comfy but sometimes squeeky beds. Ask if you need a fridge to make sure your room has one. Clean bathroom and you get a soap, towels are clean. It s like 15-29 min into Monterey and only a few min to marina center with bars, food, shopping. Good and safe parking and super close to walmart but also walking distance to the beach. Good and safe for families.

So close to aquarium . Checked in here because they have late check ins . Stay was comfy

No elevator for 2 women in 80 plus years and steps are pebble and fairly steep. Was told I had to request a bottom floor when the reservation was made. Gave us a bonus room with frig and microwave. No coffee maker or hair dryer. This was our most expensive room on our west coast vaca. and least amenities.

Front desk lady was nice, but the property needs updating. Door and windows need new seals (you can see outside), shower needs a need adjustable option, can barely rinse your pits. Washers are dirty. Definitely not kid friendly with the stairs and paper thin walls. And dont get me started on the drug addicts smoking near the doors when you are told loudly at check in that smoking is to be done over by the Cal de sac.You can t use, smoke, eat or vape adult-use cannabis in public places. It s illegal to smoke cannabis in locations where smoking is illegal that means beaches, parks, sidewalks, bars, restaurants, hotels and buildings open to the public are all no-no s. Similarly, you can t use cannabis within 1,000 feet of a school, day care center or youth center while children are present.

Hello, I would like to share my experience as a guest at this hotel. The location is very good, but the person who works there is not. Well, Im referring to a particular woman named Luz Solis. The next time I stayed, she opened my room and stole my jewelry, cell phone, and cash. I politely asked her where my things were, and she became very arrogant and rude. She said she didnt know that the housekeepers were the ones who opened the rooms. Not to mention that I had already called the office to stay another day. When I asked one of the housekeepers, they told me that the room I was staying in hadnt been opened. That same day, I observed the aforementioned woman (Luz Solis). She enters rooms and takes all the valuables and hides them in a bag where she keeps her recycling. She also mentioned that when I was observing her, she speaks very rudely to the housekeepers and the managers on duty. I dont know why shes still there if shes such a bad woman. PLEASE PEOPLE BE CAREFUL WITH YOUR THINGS AND IF YOU ARE GOING TO LEAVE A TIP FOR THE HOUSEKEEPERS, GIVE IT TO THEM IN YOUR HANDS. DO NOT LEAVE ANYTHING IN THE ROOMS BECAUSE THAT WOMAN STEALS EVERYTHING.

i actually have stayed at this motel 6 a few times and have liked it. however, this time i had left my purse in the room. unfortunately i didn t notice till i got home. i detected it w an apple air tag. i drove 2 hours in the middle of the night to retrieve it because i had my blood pressure medication in it along with a lot of cash and some irreplaceable items. stupid of me not to realize it sooner but it s what happened. i was told to come back in the morning so i stayed in another hotel in the area so that i could. when i came back i was told there was no bag turned in and that the general manager would not be in till noon. i had to go back home and get to work and was told that the general manager would call me. i ve called several times and i haven t heard anything. my purse was stolen by staff plain and simple.

I have stayed at probably every motel 6 from the Bay area down to Monterey at this rate and this one is by far my absolute favorite. The staff are amazing and truly genuine in their interactions with you. I forgot to get the name of the man who checked us in (hes got slighty longer hair and is maybe hispanic) but he was so bubbly and friendly and immediately made us feel welcome. We had gone 7 months prior (the rooms were already soo much better than the other motel 6s) and went back a weekend prior to this review and they had remodeled. The rooms are the cleanest and most welcoming ive ever seen and the TV was wall mounted so u dont have to crick your neck to watch it at your feet. The grounds there were in tip top shape. Cant wait to go back again and I wish all Motel 6 followed this example.

A comfortable place for a one-night stopover on a trip through California. The room has everything you need for a comfortable stay. The only issue, for me, is the noise from the freeway, as its very close and quite audible (if youre a light sleeper). The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful.

Shouldnt even get one star..I was given a room with a credit card that I used last time but was not allowed to use the same one today..they sent me in circles and in the end said I had to pay almost two hundred security fee with a different card.They should be equal was with everyone and management deserves to be fired. It was clean and remodeled rooms. Very small and no extra stuff like other hotels have but for the price its expected. One of the nicest Motel 6 ive seen or stayed at for sure.

Was very friendly. But the rooms were tiny and felt cramped. I couldnt even walk to my side of the bed. Had to crawl into bed, and thats hard to do with my overweight problem. Rooms: They are too cramped and small. The room that have double beds shouldnt have double bed, for I had to crawl into bed. Noteworthy details: That all rooms should have microwaves and mini fridges no matter what.... I wasnt able to reheat my food....

when traveling I try to get the best room for the best deal. I dont have a lot of expectations. Go0d price, clean room, comfy bed. I dont put a lot on amenities as it can vary especially on finding deals. This Motel 6 checked all those boxes, I was very pleased. Clean, comfy bed, quiet, excellent location. All good for me.

Everything was correct and clean, the location was good, and the beach was within walking distance. However, for the hefty price, I found the amenities a bit lacking: no pool, no microwave, no coffee maker. Other motels have had all of these for less money.

Great motel 6, just felt the floors could be cleaner. I believe it is a motel 6 problem in general.

The rooms appear to have been recently updated, which made probably the nicest of the Motel 6 rooms weve stayed in. We felt safe, even later at night returning from our events. The lady at the front desk was very pleasant during check-in (forgot her name.) An extra chair (one w/o sides/arms) would have been helpful. The room amenities are the same as at other Motel 6 locations - so no fridge or microwave (though some of the rooms in the location are equipped with them.) The Wifi reception was also better than expected. Close to Monterey w/o the traffic/parking hassles.

The price/performance ratio isnt right here. + Rooms are renovated clean - Very small rooms No refrigerator No pool Water pressure is very weak I can live with the negatives, but not at this price. Other Motel 6s have been much better. Check-in was Friday for one night in a two-bedroom. Price: $194

Theres plenty to do this is where you hang out before you go. Inexpensive and friendly. Moteling vs.hoteling. You know the difference right . Excellent choice

Ridiculous and intrusive policy that all adults have to show their ID to stay at the hotel, not just the person booking the room. My husband is in IT Security and knows how often customer data gets hacked, so we don t like sharing our personal information unless absolutely necessary. We have also personally experienced identity theft, so this policy alone will keep us from staying at another Motel 6. The lady at the front desk just told us to show our IDs or we could get a refund and leave. Not even apologetic or friendly about it. THEN, we get to our $200 room and our feet stuck to the floor. Our family of four all showered and the next morning I noticed the bottom of my husband s feet were filthy. We looked at our feet and they were all black/brown with crud! It was disgusting!! We had to wash our feet before putting on our socks & shoes. Also, only three towels (for a 4 person room) and the hair dryer didn t work. Never again staying at a Motel 6! It s all about location.. about a 8 to 15 min drive everywhere that you would want to see in the area. And not to mention about a 300 dollar price difference within those 8-15 min.. clean.. assessable.. quiet and everybody was pretty friendly..

Location was only good thing. I coulda got a cheaper and better hotel off any online site.sucua cheap hotel they dont offer shampoo or even coffee in the rooms. Plus the maid only comes on certain days of the week. (Might explain the dirty room) old soap in corner of shower, tub was filthy. Curtain didnt even cover the window, and to top it off we were forced to pay an extra $20 a night for a microwave and fridge that we didnt want or need. Outside was dirty and even scary to be. The railing felt like it was going to give, completely rotten in spots. Next time I will stay elsewhere!

I stayed here over the weekend, and it was very nice! 15 minutes from Monterey aquarium, very good and safe location. Walmart is right around the corner. The room itself was small but very cozy, it was super clean, and a great place to stay!

Staff was great from the get go, property is conveniently located and really close to Monterey and Carmel. Only detail is that no shampoo is provided, it was my first time at a motel 6 property and dont know if that is normal but it sure was something worth mentioning. I found a decent price for car week and the room is actually pretty nice. New flooring, some newish stylings as well. Location is 6 miles from the aquarium, which is sort of centrally located in Monterey. Easy to drive. Rush hour traffic jams though. Avoid driving south in the morning commute times.

it was a Monday night and not full up. vary quiet, and the lights where left on for us. Rooms: clean as new. Nearby activities: close to what we needed. Sand! Safety: good quality cams at strategic locations. Walkability: flat to our room from parking. many rooms up stairs.

At first they wanted to give us a room, a dark hole. You can do it with tourists. We fought back and then got a room in a better location. Breakfast was coffee, a bar and an apple. Oh well. We wouldnt go there anymore.

It s been awhile since I attempted to stay here but I still feel horrible about the situation. I was made to feel incredibly incompetent and disrespected by both the clerk and manager on separate occasions. I haven t even been back to the area due to how I was treated by the staff here.

Very nice service, although check-in took quite a long time. The fridge was defrosted and spilled on the floor and it was difficult to ask someone to come with a mop, but it happens, no big deal. Apart from that, the room was elegant, had a quite pleasant garden, a rather safe location and close to the highway (but you couldnt hear any noise)

Enormous lodging! We adore Motel 6s because they offer the convenience of accommodating our furry companions. Arriving quite late, we were warmly welcomed by th receptionist. Although they were nearly at full capacity, they made a genuine effort to meet our request for a secluded room. In the center of the property, there lies a charming garden that unfortunately does not permit dogs, but fear not, as there is an ample pet-friendly area available. The room, of moderate size, was clean and wellfurnished.

The rooms are very, very noisy. You can hear every noise from the neighbors, and the light from the hallway illuminates the entire room throughout the night. From the outside, the hotel looks very run-down. The rooms are clean, but theres no safe. The entire hotel is very budget-friendly. Rooms: Very loud and bright

I had put up my disabled 63 year old brother for a few days there he was kicked out after having a fall that broke the toilet. Only being there for 2 nights. When we checked him we made sure they understood his balance was poor and was using a walker and cane to get around. He lost his balance and fall. They will be hearing from attorneys soon on this matter!

No hot water many times during 2 week stay. Front desk had varying excuses such as the workmen using the motel all take showers at the same time, or it needs to run for 30 minutes to warm up, or we just replaced the boiler last week so there shouldnt be a problem, or well investigate. No fridge or microwave, although advertised as having they wanted an extra $40 per night for them. Rescue and police were there multiple times. One time appeared to be a drug overdose. At least 2 different people living out of their vehicles in the parking lot. Loud and boisterous people roaming the grounds at odd hours of the night. The shower walls were filthy as was the floor--room 123 has accessible shower. Small bugs flying around, mostly in bathroom. The general manager, Regina Lal promised to give a 10% refund for the lack of hot water but never did. I called to inquire and she yelled at me that my service dog should not have been on my bed and I left dirty towels and supposedly the comforter was ruined. I stored the comforter on the chair as it did not appear clean when I first checked in. As I started to reply she hung up on me and then when I called back she hung up as soon as she picked the phone up and when I tried again she put it to a recording where I left a message informing her Id be filing complaints with the CA attorney generals office of consumer affairs, the BBB and the Monterey County Board of Health. I will also file a dispute with my credit card company for the refund she promised, and I hope if Regina Lal continues to provide this type of accommodations to others than they will also file disputes. She may then correct the shortcomings, however that appears unlikely and very doubtful due to her arrogance.

For the price of a room a night, I was hoping there would be at least a mini fridge and microwave. Nearby activities: A Dennys is right up front, Walmart just a block away, and the beach down the street.

Very clean newly refurbished room. Comfy bed and pillows. No grungy carpet on floors. Location is tricky long driveway around behind Dennys. Less than a mile from Marina State Beach. Only shortcoming was all lighting in room was very bright overhead spotlights. Need a lamp on desk or put a dimmer on the overhead light switch. Nearby activities: Dennys in front of motel. Beach less than a mile away. Marina has Stater Bros nearby, good food at Lees Chinese restaurant across street from Staters.

They have nice landscaping. Our room wasnt very clean and you get the bare basics but we were just passing thru the area and needed a place for the night so it worked.

Quietest Motel 6 in the area. Jessica (on the evening shift) is super helpful and hardworking

The room itself was fine, blanket could be a bit thicker, but otherwise totally acceptable for a Motel 6. My complaint is that a party was happening in the room next mine. Loud music and loud people.i called the office and the attendant bsaid he would take care of it. I would not be writing this review of the party stopped. Totally unacceptable for a small motel to allow partying to happen.

$184/night and the ice machine is broken. One would think at these prices the ice machine could be maintained. The grounds are run down as well.

The lady at the reception was really great to me and understood me even though I dont speak English very well. She explained to me how to get to the beach and also since I didnt have my credit card, she suggested I order online for the restaurant. Really nice

Typical Motel 6.

The location of this hotel is great for the campus. The cleanliness not so much. My hubby and I have short light hair. There were looong black hairs in the bathroom, on the floor and on the freshly laundered towels. Sand and grit were all over the faux wooden floor due to no weatherstripping on the door. Ice machine for the entire complex was on the fritz the whole weekend there. Water pressure in the bathroom sink was so poor we used the tub faucet to take medication. I think the mattresses came over on the MayFlower springs and all. Definitely will rethink staying at a Motel 6 ever again.

MOTEL6 always accomadates

Room was good and large. Grounds were wonderful. Dennys next store. State beach down the street. Nice set up.

Hotel workers are amazing and I love talking to them, they always remember us when we come back. I see alot of people carry electronic stoves up. I brought my lizzards and they loved them.

The Puerto Rican receptionist was very friendly.

In February 14, I stayed there for 2 days. I ve been staying there off and on for the past few years when I m in town. Most of the time in Monterey. I just shower, sleep then leave to do my thing. When I came back a month later. The person working that night said, I was not able to stay, because I had been banned from staying there. I asked him, why? His reply was I had to speak with the manger the next day. So I took off and came back the following day. The manger said there was a report from the cleaning person, that the room smelled like tabaco and maybe there was a party that took place and drinking involved . I told her I don t drink, I don t smoke, I don t party . I was just there to sleep, shower, then take off like I have done every time I ve spent the night there before. I told her, but the people staying next to me were smoking and I don t know what else, because it s none of my business, but there were more than one person there smoking outside and their smoking was going into my room. I just didn t want to complain, because I was tired when I got to the room and just wanted to sleep. I told her you have cameras look at them and you ll see that 1.I was alone 2. I wasn t the one smoking. ( For me to get banded for something I didn t do is unfair. ) You have cameras, investigate this before making harsh conclusions. She said, she would and removed the banning part and was going to look into them, because they were still staying there. My advice to anyone staying there, if your neighbor is smoking or partying.. do report them, before you leave to clear your name. Because, it s obvious they don t know how to investigate before making harsh decisions. It is a quiet hotel overall to stay at and overall it is clean.. they just get a little cuckoo with their judgments. Very annoying she didn t even apologize for the inconvenience. Very unprofessional. I m a truck driver, I can t drive hungover. Motel 6 management and staff.. So, NO! I don t party! Be kind to your guests and do thoroughly investigations, before making those rational decisions. You have cameras there use them!

Nice enough motel 6 but during the covid they arent doing any house cleaning so the rooms wasnt in that greatest shape but it was fair.

Rooms are smaller then what they look on pictures there was no fridge , microwave, or hairdryer in room and it smell like a smoke and is about 20 minutes from downtown monterey Service: I went in first thing in the morning to check in as they stated on website 10:00 am they didnt have a room ready then they call me at 3pm to ask all about my information but still didnt have a room ready until like 8 or 9 at night when I drove back and finally was able to check in .

Clean rooms and friendly staff

No shampoo in shower, bad coffee, still using white sugar, and staff sadly still wearing masks when other businesses have moved on... please allow your people to breathe! its 2022... lets move on with our lives! For a $100 a night... sadly disappointed. I expected more... :(

The manager at this motel 6 is a total shrew and a real B#$%h.....and she will retaliate against you if you complain to the motel 6 guest services about her. She will blame you and be angry for mistakes SHE made. She should be cleaning toilets, not dealing w people at front desk. Go somewhere else.

Rooms were very clean. There is a Dennys walking distance, and there is a Wal Mart not even a block away. Beach is close and the staff were excellent. It looks like they were doing some construction which I see as a good sign.

For being a Motel 6, this is a really solid choice! The location is awesome, quite close to Monterey and significantly more affordable than most of the motels/hotels in the city. Staff are really friendly (special shoutout to Minako for being fantastic) and the rooms are old but clean. The motel is right next to the entrances onto the PCH and the Marina State Beach (prettier than any of the beaches in Monterey) is walking distance away. A solid and affordable choice if you want to see the Monterey Bay Area. A massive caveat to this review is that its a Motel 6 so you should really expect bare bones. Our room lacked really basic amenities like an iron, a closet, a microwave, kettle, or fridge. It was also quite small and the bed gave the impression of a fold out. The walls are also quite thin so you can hear the neighbors and it does get quite humid in the rooms. All of this to say, just know what to expect Monterey Bay hospitality, particularly on summer weekends, is stratospherically expensive.

Not bad considering only place available!

Very clean and friendly. Loved all the plants in the middle area. We stayed on pride weekend and even with it being booked it was not loud at night! We will definitely go back!

We made a reservation and the stay was confirmed.And on the day of stay ,half way through our journey receptionist calls and informs that all of us staying should have physical if cards.The person who booked had the ID while the other person had soft copy in the phone and it was so unprofessional and rude for totally not making any effort to apologise about them not informing us in prior. 1)we weren t informed or told that all the people who need to stay need a hard copy ID.Person who booked had a valid ID. 2)It was during check in time,reception informing us.Wasting our money of travel all the halfway through the place and we had to come back to our home, spoilt our trip and mood.

Location was great, next to freeway and next door to a Dennys. The room was clean but outdated and worn decor. The interior grounds were clean and well kept. There is plenty of well lit parking and a major plus was the Dennys next door. For the price, this is a good option.

Little pricee not bad

A place to sleep. Clean, safe, and comfortable. Nothing else. No coffee maker, refrigerator, or microwave. Front desk was welcoming.

We paid around $170 on a Friday for a room with a king bed. What you get for it is almost primitive. Bed is anything but king size, room is generally very small and dingy. I cant really recommend the hotel. A night here would be worth a maximum of $60 to me.

Overall clean room but no amenities

This hotel was sufficient for what it was. The ocean was steps away. It is close to Walmart, 7-eleven and a short drive to restaurants and more. This hotel has a little place to get ice and candy if needed, front office is nice as well. I was surprised it was so peaceful at night, however, first thing in the morning, you can hear all conversations around you, doors slamming, housekeeping carts and anything else. Comfy bed. Felt safe.

This Motel 6 has character & quality that is more than you would expect from a lower rated motels. It has great grounds with character, safe surroundings, updated simple and clean rooms. You will get a great nights sleep. Sheets & towels were on the dated and skimpy side, but smelled clean at least. The front desk was efficient and pleasant for both check in and out.

Not that cleanly.

I saw a price on the website and decided to call to speak with a real person to book. While on the phone I was given a quote of around $170 per night or $700 for the whole trip and they went to apply a military discount and the price went to over $1,000 with the discount. The agent put me on hold and transferred me to a supervisor who had no idea what was going on. I was then told the price had changed while I was on the phone, but before I could book or confirm the reservation. Im now being told there is nothing they can do and the price has more than doubled for some nights. This was underhanded, dishonest and unprofessional. I feel like they were attempted to defraud me by bait and switch, if you decide to book here, beware that they could do the same to you. No motel 6 room is worth over $400 a night

Clean and quiet. I slept good. With tax was $305 for 3 nights. There is a laundry and vending machines aswell as ice. I will be staying there on my next trip. Dennys restaurant next door , and Walmart just up the road, easy freeway access.

Very friendly welcome, a very pleasant receptionist who spoke slowly, so it was great for us English beginners As for the rest, its a motel; dont expect high-end amenities; it was clean and cute. There was no hairdryer, and the bedding was very basic, so it wasnt very comfortable. Its fine for a short stay!

Its a joke go pay elsewhere. Youll find better beds and better hospitality elsewhere. Also I wouldnt recommend applying here they prey on younger girls.

No fridge and microwave in the rooms those rooms are 20 dollars more. No room service due to covid. Proximity to the beach and a dinner is amazing. Good location. Service is lack. But if your gonna spend all day on the beach a good hotel to stay.

The worst rip off ever.I simply can not believe that this place is on the monterey peninsula

Was a little nervous with this being my first hotel stay since the pandemic. But Everything I needed for two days worked fine. Plenty of towels, peace and quiet, wifi, hot shower and a bed. The only cons are the door knob on my room (146) is on its last leg. I had to push the door shut with all my weight just to turn the deadbolt. And not a big deal to me, but the room phone didnt work at all from the moment I checked in. That might be an issue if a future guest needs it. Other than that it was good stay and Ill definitely return. Kind of weird though that they still have covid restrictions (no housekeeping unless requested.)

We stayed two nights and they couldn t even give us some clean towels. Housekeeping needs a little more practice, just my opinion.

Price increased with each inquiry. At time of check in, refrigerator would be additional charge. With previous three inquiries and booking room, nothing was stated regarding additional charge. Bad business practice. I canceled the booking.

A very sterile and simple Motel the price reflects such a good business short stay. Noteworthy details: Their remodeling so you may experience noise and clutter.

Motel 6 should be renamed to a more apt name - Motel Minimalist No Shampoo No Conditioner No Body Lotion No Iron No Hair Dryer No Fridge No Microwave Dirty Bathroom a Double Bed advertised as Queen Bed Hotel staff insisted on showing ID for all staying in the room. Thats a first across all Hotels I have stayed in. Someone kept knocking the Door next room and kept shouting.

Manager is rude

Its all about location. This place is perfect for the price. At most its a 10 minute walk to the beach. Good spot if your visiting downtown if you dont mind a little bit of a drive. At the end of the day its a Motel 6. So you are getting what you pay for... a room to sleep in. If you dont plan on hanging out in the room its a great spot for your base of operations. Would definitely consider staying here again if in the area.

Not much to complain about! I only wish the rooms here had hair dryers and thicker blankets than the ones that were there. Everything was clean and newly renovated so that nice. Staff were friendly and quick with the check in/check out process. Marina State Beach is just up the street so it s the perfect spot.

Nearby activities: Beach and Dennys very near within walking distance. Pretty courtyard with seating. Food and drinks: Dennys restaurant very near, can walk to it.

first time staying at this motel 6 location. the bed was my all time favorite. The mattresses have a plush, pillowy top that provides support while remaining oh-so-comfy. hadnt had a actual good night sleep in a comfortable mattress like the one i got in YEARS! yeah you heard right YEARS. i woke up feeling amazing. happy. relaxed . will definitely come back

Front desk was extremely friendly and helpful. The room was clean and freshly remodeled. Although it does need a coffee pot and fridge. Close to shopping

Rooms have been updated since my last stay but that was years ago beds are much more comfortable now. It would have been nice if they had coffee pots in the room but they do offer coffee in the lobby but for a limited time people of the deaths were very very helpful it was quiet a lot better than I thought it was going to be I was really happy with my stay

Perfectly ok motel, right next to the highway. Very clean. There is a Denny s right next door and retail stores like Walmart and Target nearby.

Stayed here with my dog during a trip down to Big Sur. Place was clean and quiet and close to lots of different food options and not a long drive down to some scenic spots along the coast like Garrapata State Park. Also price was very reasonable for the area! Staff was friendly and helpful. No microwave or mini fridge or coffee maker in the standard room - would ve given 5 stars otherwise

This motel is very well kept. You can tell they ve put a lot of work into the landscaping, planters, etc. They also have mats outside all of the doors to wipe feet before going into the room. Theres designated areas for pets to go potty, and nice little pathways in those areas. The service was great! We even got a pre-check in phone call the day before to make sure we had all the information we needed to know for check-in. The room was very clean and well kept. The only complaint we had is that the mattresses are not super comfortable. Other than that, you can tell the owners really try and make this Motel 6 as nice as possible for their guests.
