We were traveling to Cambria, CA from Fresno, CA and my water hose busted on my Tahoe. I called Javier stating I was stranded and he immediately came out and fixed the issue. Javier was very informative and helpful. Thank God for putting him in our path.
Javier at "Javier Auto Repair" came thru for me in a big way!!! I got into town on a Sunday after my car was overheating on route 46. I was extremely nervous/upset not knowing how I would get back home on Thursday to the Bay Area. I was able to get into his shop on Tue. am, and he figured out the issue right away. I left my car, they ordered the parts that day, and he was able to fix it on Wed. am. His wife and him gave me rides to and from my motel, and couldn't of been kinder!! I have the utmost respect for both of them!!! The price was fair and I highly recommend this shop to everyone, and I am happy to know they are there in Cambria!! They are the "BEST people" ever!!!
Javier is awesome! He knows cars ! What a great find in Cambria ! My oil change was done in 1 hr and he fixed some other things too!!! Best find in Cambria . He and his wife are so sweet and friendly 🥰
After a two day weekend spent in Cambria for my birthday, my car was overheating. luckily, Javier’s auto shop was less than a mile away and i gave him a call explaining my situation and he was more than willing to help me out despite being 40 minutes away from cambria. He was able to assist me and my wife with our incident and ensured me that he would get us back on the road. Thanks to his expertise and attention detail, me and my wife were back on the road to our hometown in no time. While heading back home, Javier gave us a call to ensure that everything was running smoothly. He is an extremely humble and generous man that is willing to go out of his way to help his clients regardless of the circumstances. Me and my wife will definitely be returning here for future trips to Cambria to visit Javier.
Javier it truly amazing! He saved us! We were leaving Cambria after a wonderful weekend stay and our Jeep broke down. He left breakfast with his family on a Sunday to come help us get fixed and back in the road. We loved this little coastal town so much and he made the end of it so much better than it could have been. The people out here are just so super nice!
I was having an issue with an emergency parking brake while on vacation and spoke to javier and his wife on a Friday afternoon, they were kind enough to give me a number to a nearby towing company to have my car towed to their yard to get worked on the following morning. I spoke to the towing company, and they also arranged for me to call them the following morning and that they'll get the car towed to Javiers shop as they were neighbors. I called the following morning to both companies, and neither one answered. I decided to drive the car over to the shop with a messed up caliber and slightly smoking rear brake to find that they were not open and not answering their phones. I waited about an hour outside and continued to call, and there was no answer. Another couple showed up while I was there and were experiencing the same thing, except Javier had their vehicle and were told to pick it up that morning. Unfortunately, they were also on vacation and were waiting to check out of their hotel or have to book another night to wait for javier. I left my car parked outside the shop all day and received no call back from the auto shop or the towing company. I had to get someone to pick me up from 3 hours away, then 3 hours home, pick up my truck, and trailer drive back to cambria and another 3 hours home. It would've been okay if Javier and his wife had said no from the get-go, and I would completely understand if they had an emergency or something, however, they knew they had out of towers waiting around with no transportation, a phone call could have been suffice.
Javier was closing in 3 minutes, and I was a mile away. Javier was kind enough to stay open and repair my tire. His card machine was down, and he was okay with me returning to pay in cash next day. Now that is the service my parents use to experience in times past. Tire repaired, loyal customer earned. Will always use him in the event that I ever have auto issues in a Cambria again. Thank you Javier!
Javier Auto Repair on Bridge Street in Cambria provided a front brake line replacement due to corrosion and a break in the line. As a first-time customer, they provided professional service in a friendly manner. The repair was completed within two days, and the vehicle was picked up on a Saturday. It's always nice to be able to support a local family operated business which services locals as well as those just passing through.
Managed to hit a rock on Highway 1 just north of Cambria and bulged the front tyre. Looked online and saw this place so I decided to chance my arm and popped in to see if they could help. Even though I was unannounced they dropped what they were doing and swapped the tyre out for the spare and even gave a restaurant recommendation as well as good conversation whilst they finished up! Great to see places that still offer good customer service! Very much recommended if you are in need of a garage in the area!

Great service most honest place
Javi and Javier were literal lifesavers. My car stalled on RT1 and luckily I was able to make it the 7min drive to Javiers. They got to my car ASAP and spent hours, and I mean hours, working on a hard job replacing and flushing my transmission fluid as well as fixing a leak in the pan, surrounded by years and years of rust. Other mechanics in LA didnt want to touch or try it, but Javier and Javi spent 12+ hours working to make sure it was fixed right. I really appreciate them and they were so chill and fun to work with. Cambria is lucky to have them around!
Driving down to Cambria from Santa Cruz the covering of the undercarriage of my car came loose and made a horrible slapping sound at speeds over 50 mph. A simple fix but I can t do it!! I called the number listed for Javier the next morning and he met me at his shop and repaired my car within the hour. I was extremely happy to have found him and be helped in a kindly and timely manner. He s the best.
Super helpful! Drove out to where my car broke down and helped us get to the shop so he can do his thing. He also helped us in a timely manner knowing we had a long way back home. Overall, great funny guy and his son was helpful and friendly too!

I arrived in Cambria with a nail in my tire Sunday morning I called Javier he charged me $100 after he put a plug in the tire yes he didnt patch my tire he used a 30 cent plug and charged me $100 now Im going somewhere else to have a patch put in this guy is a criminal he didnt give me a receipt he charged me 5 to 10 times what it Should cost so this is how he does business you bring your car in there he doesnt tell you that hes going to charge you 10 times you say to him what do I owe you for a flat tire and he says $100 if you dont pay me I will call the sheriff he dialed the sheriff because I said I didnt want to pay.
Had a car problem while on vacation at the beach called up the shop spoke with Javier Jr and he said take it in , he was very nice and him and his father changed my spark plugs. My car is running better and I made it to my hometown safe and my car ran great Thank you guys again!!

Javier Jr. and Javier Sr. provided outstanding proffesional service in replacing a radiator coolant sensor at a moments notice.. In a couple of weeks thereafter the water pump and belt in our 2014 GMC Acadia was replaced on a Sunday for a reasonable price. We are vacationing from Arizona in Cambria for about a month. Thanks for the small town hospitality and superior customer service!!!
My Family and I were passing through San Simeon area from Big Sur with San Diego as our home destination in our 1995 F-250 7.3 diesel truck w/ 1960 Holiday cabover on it and out of nowhere the engine cut out and we were stuck on the side of the road in a desolate area. To make matters worse; Triple A wouldnt tow us due to the cabover camper on the truck (I was not aware I had to change my coverage w/them for assistance) AND there was no private towing companies in the area with a big enough tow truck to get us into town. We were approximately 12-14 miles north from Cambria. So I found Javiers Shop to see if they had any ideas for towing/diesel help and thats when I was greeted by his son who was an absolute pleasure speaking to over the phone, calm, informative and helpful - I told them our dilemma and they generously offered to drive out (despite it being about an hour before they were scheduled to close) and take a look to see what they could do to fix it. Javier drove out in less than 30 minutes and was great with his approach ensured all the basics were working and methodically began to pinpoint the problem. However it was late and weather got worse, we had a toddler that needed a better/safer situation at a motel and he needed more tools so we all decided that we would address the issue the following day. Javier was even kind enough to drive us into town to our motel and even offering up places to eat along the way. The Next day Javier called us to check in - as I was still waiting to hear back from a towing company - who did finally agree but told me it would not be until much later in the day - I informed Javier of this and he said no problem- that he and his son would go out to the truck remotely again so he picked me up and we went out there. That day he found the problem and fixed it - a faulty fuel pump that had shorted out due to an electrical issue that I thought might be happening myself but could never pin point it, and an alternator that was overcharging the system - all in all he and his son worked from sun up to sun down for us - they both had such great communication with us the entire time and eventually after a tricky couple days we were on our way down the coast and safely back home. I know this is lengthy review - this also our first time writing a review on any social media platform because personally we like voting with our dollar and if its a good business we return however in this case we obviously dont live there and we arent trying to break down anytime soon! That said, we felt compelled to let anyone know that needs to here it how impressed and thankful we were for Javier and his sons hard-work, honesty and kindness. They are truly great people and we are thankful they were there to help.
Javier met us after closing time to change the radiator. He was really fast, after about an hour abd a half he was finished. When all was said and done he gave us a discount!

I cant imagine what we would have done without Javier. We had a power steering breakdown in Cambria. All other shops told us that it would take days to a week before we could get help. We were just passing through on our camping trip. Javier understood our need to get back on the road and dropped everything to fix my truck. He saved our camping trip. We are indebted to him and highly recommend him if you ever have a breakdown anywhere near Cambria.

Can I give 10 stars? Javier and his sons Javier Jr and Ricardo were phenomenal. Had an alternator belt snap on my old 84 Land Cruiser while driving up the coast to go camping. Rolled into their lot with my battery getting low. They immediately lent a hand for a very reasonable price and got us back on the road within an hour. Incredibly nice guys and Cambria is a great town.
Javier auto repair is the best! We were driving to Big Sur and had an issue with the alternator belt of our truck. Javier and his sons were incredibly kind and fit us into their schedule with very short notice so that we could still make our trip happen. Top notch service, you cant ask for better!
We were driving up to Big Sur from SoCal when my cars engine broke down just outside Cambria. It was 4:30p on a Friday and I was already assuming our weekend was shot. We were able to get the car to Javier, where they diagnosed the engine fault, got the parts, performed the installation, and returned a fully functional car in the span of just 2 hours. I was blown away by the quality of their service. If I lived anywhere close to Cambria, I wouldnt hesitate to go back. Thanks Javier - the weekend ended up being a blast!
Just want to thank Javier for diagnosing and solving the problem with our Ram Promaster City. Something our dealership in Colorado Springs was unable to do. We were traveling from Santa Barbara to Cambria. We were able to locate him and get his help on a Sunday, which was very nice. He did a great professional repair. I wish he was located in Colorado Springs. Its hard to find a knowledgeable and professional mechanic as Javier.
My jeep blew a seal and was leaking transmission fluid on a Friday night while I was on vacation with my family visiting Hearst Castle. Javier was one of the only mechanics open on a Saturday. I called right when he opened and he let me get it towed to his shop first thing and took care of it so we could leave for home on Sunday as planned. He found the part, picked it up, and installed it in less than a day because he knew I needed to get back home. 5 stars. Great Service.
Traveling from Seattle to LA over the weekend. Our Mercedes broke down on a Sunday on our way back to Seattle. Javier was able to get the alternator, replace it and get us back on the road again within a couple hours. Thank you!!!!
