We ve had SunAir do three projects for us in the last two years. All have gone very well, despite some challenges posed by the age of our house (built in 1912). First, we had them convert the house from gas to electric. This invoved replacing two gas furnaces with a single Bryant heat pump and installing a heat pump water heater. They also installed a new electric a circuit to allow us to replace the gas range with induction. We re very pleased with the Bryant system - it s quiet, efficient and the controls are a pleasure to use. Second, we had them install a Fujitsu mini-split heat pump in the top floor, which had no functioning heat. The unit is effective and efficient, but, as Peter warned us, the controls are not nearly as friendly as the Bryant system. Finally, SunAir installed a Franklin house battery and tied it into our existing solar system. Peter soldiered through consolidating multiple panels left over from a century of remodels into a sensible arrangement. Peter is very ptofessional and is knowledgable in multiple areas. He is an excellent problem solver and very easy to work with. I d highly recommend SunAir to anyone in need of HVAC, solar, or electrical work.

Peter and his company Sun Air went above and beyond what was needed for our unique project where I wanted the house to become completely zero emission using the installed solar panels and battery storage. For that we needed to replace a propane fired furnace and a propane fired water heater. Both are expensive to use and heavily poluting to the environment. We wanted to convert to a Heat Pump HVAC and a Hybrid Heat Pump Water Heater. Peter was one of seven local/regional contractors that I approached for a bid on the project. Peters knowledge, innovative/collaborative approach and value for money made me decide to choose Sun Air. In addition, Peter does not try to sell you a system that overqualifies; he rather understands what the customer wants and needs. In realizing the project Peter and Sun Air did an amazing job considering the many challenges during COVID-19 times. His work was delivered on time, in close collaboration with the permitting division at the County as well as with the contractor who upgraded the panel. In addition, the space for the new water heater and airhandler in the basement as well as the heat pump outside where left behind as if it was a completely new home. After three months of use during cold winter days (2020/2021), the system has performed excellent. In fact, already the electricity usage compared to the propane cost has gone down dramatically while becoming zero emission at the same time. According to my calculations the entire zero emission system will pay for itself in 5-7 years. In addition to his excellent work Peter is also a great guy to work with. Highly recommended !

I interviewed four different HVAC companies for the installation of a 4-zone mini-split system at my house. Pete was the only one that took time to really assess my crawl space for line placement, as well as recommend an electrical panel upgrade. The other guys glossed over these details, which in the end made a huge difference. Pete is a professional and a perfectionist - exactly the kind of guy you want to do this type of work. He sweats the details, making sure you are 100% satisfied. He was very responsive and didnt even require a deposit to secure my installation dates. I really trusted him and his team with this project, which at $22k was a significant expense. But in the end I know I made the right choice, and couldnt be happier with the job these guys did!

Solar system installation: SunAir did an excellent job installing a new solar system for me. The previous system I had was solar shingles, which at nearly twenty years old, were starting to buckle and fail, and my even older electrical panel needed to be upgraded as well. Peter met with me to discuss the job, and when I mentioned that I was looking for a good roofer to redo the roof prior to the solar install, he recommended two highly-rated local companies. As we finalized the contract, he went out of his way to save me money without any reduction in quality by making sure we met the deadline for keeping the solar system under PG&E s NEM 2.0 rates. In scheduling the job, he coordinated with the roofer so that the solar install began as soon as the new roof was on. He and his crew were careful with my garden, kept the worksite tidy, and left it neatly organized at the end of each day. They let me know at the end of each workday what time they expected to return, and they showed up when they said they would. His communication was clear and timely throughout the process. His knowledge guided me through the various bureaucratic hoops that PG&E required, and he made sure I had the appropriate documentation to get rebates and tax credits for the work he did. All in all, a top quality experience. Electrical rewiring and installation of EV charger: My home is nearly 80 years old, and the electrical system was long overdue for an overhaul. SunAir did a thorough job of reviewing the existing electrical wiring and making recommendations to bring it up to code, making it safe and more than adequate for my needs. Peter was communicative throughout the entire process, explaining what he planned to do and why, ensuring that I understood the pros and cons of various options. For instance, he explained clearly why it would be unsafe to install the EV charging station where I initially wanted to put it, and suggested an alternative location that, although slightly less convenient, was the right choice. After the job was completed, I acquired an electric stove and when my partner went to install it, we discovered that the 3-prong plug that came with it was incompatible with the more modern (and safer) 4-prong style that Peter had installed. I texted him to ask what we could do about it, and he and his crew came by, without charging me, and not only swapped out the stove cable, but also installed the anti-tip bracket for the stove. He really went above and beyond at every step of the way, even after the job he was hired to do was done. If you re looking for top quality work at a fair price, SunAir will deliver it to you. Heater troubleshooting: A year ago, Peter was VERY helpful when our wall heater wouldn t turn on. He responded to my call in less than 3 hours, spent a good amount of time on the phone and texting with me to explain how I could easily fix the most common problem myself. When that didn t fix it, he came over, even though it was after his businesses closing time, stayed until the problem was resolved, and charged what was a very reasonable amount for his time and expertise. I will definitely be calling him whenever I have a project that his company can do.

Peter and team are tremendous at heating and air conditioning installation and more. They replaced our entire HVAC, air filter system, whole house fan, duct work, etc. They moved our exterior base unit to a more remote location to reduce noise and reconfigured our interior vents for maximum efficiency. They are complete professionals timeliness, cleanliness and excellent workmanship. Love the SunAir team, they provide high value results and we recommend them without hesitation.

Were about to leave the country for 2 weeks when our propane fired furnace under the house went south. I had just enough firewood to cover us for a few days after we returned, but after that we had no heat, and the morning temps were hitting 36 F in our area (Santa Cruz mountains). Based on a neighbors recommendation I contacted SunAir to see if, short term, they could get the old furnace running, and after that advise me as to replacing the 40 year old furnace with a new one. I contacted them late on Friday and they responded that they could stop by on Monday. When Peter showed up I went under the house with him to troubleshoot the furnace. To make a long story short we both agreed that trying to get the 40+ year old furnace running (dead control board) would be a waste of time. Also the ducting (mostly over 40 years old) was in pretty bad shape and installed in a sloppy manner. I got a quote from Peter for replacing just the furnace and another quote for a complete furnace and ductwork replacement. I decided to rebuild the whole system. Peter quoted 3 days to complete the job and was able to start a few days after that. Unfortunately, in the middle of the job we had a day of rain that ended up flooding under the house where the furnace was located. It turned their work area into a mucky mess, but they kept going and finished the job on time. Im fairly certain that many other contractors, confronted with the same circumstances, would have halted the work and left us with no heat for many more days. Kudos to Peter and his crew for putting up with the terrible working conditions and getting the job done on time as promised.

Highest recommendation. Sun Air replaced two aging gas water heaters in my home with new heat pump water heaters. Both required running new 240v electrical lines. The bid I received covered all aspects of the project from installation, disposal of the old units, and required permits, and the price was extremely reasonable (be sure to ask Peter about the generous rebates and tax credits that are now available). Peter, Adrian and Jacob completed the project on time and their work was excellent. Peter knew what he was doing, was responsive to my questions and concerns, and was very easy to work with. He was the ultimate professional.

Im really happy my wife and I chose Sun Air to replace our gas furnace and sub-panel. Peter was very helpful in explaining all of our options and offered a good range of solutions. Great service. Peter and his team installed a Fujitsu mini-split heat pump for our 2 bedrooms. Works great. The external module is hidden behind a lime tree and the pipes are covered with a plastic trim that match perfectly our siding. The installation went very smoothly and Peter was always very responsive on email.

Peter responded immediately to my first email late on a Sunday night. He was out the next day, and made a band-aid repair for free so that the heat would work until he could come out for the full repair. When he came back to do the full repair, he noticed a few other issues that he fixed without changing his original quoted cost. Would use them again.

We have worked with Peter and Sun Air a number of times (moving furnace and new tank less water heater to our attic, re-doing all of our ducting, installing a small split AC unit in our second story) and they have always gone above and beyond. Our most recent job with Peter and his crew was a complete re-do of our two bathrooms and kitchen simultaneously. We moved out during this work (& out of the area) and had no concerns that the job would not be done on time and up to our high standards. Peter dealt with all issues that arose (items which took longer as a result of Covid, confusion on timing from subcontractors we hired) and our additions and worked hard to complete the job in the time frame he promised us. He is always neat and attentive to our home. Additionally, he brought some things to our attention that he thought would be better done in another way-and every time he was right! He made what could have been such a stressful process so easy for us. We are thrilled with how it all turned out-the subcontractors he use have the same work ethic and are perfectionists just as he is. He got the last details finished once we moved back in done in a timely manner as well (with contractors we have worked with in the past this part was like pulling teeth-took a lot of work to get them back to finish-not so with Peter-he had each trade scheduled to come by in take care of the final touch ups). We cannot recommend him and his crew strongly enough. If you hire Peter for a job, you will never be disappointed! We know we will use him again in the future.

Pete and SunAir did great work, super timely, super flexible, and super responsive and communicated well. He has a super crew and business. Super duper all around. Peter and Adrian are great. They are amazing and skilled at what they do and, a rarity in the world of contractors, Peter, the owner, communicates well and often and is responsive. We had a very complex central heat and air installation in an old house where there wasnt one prior, no crawl space on half the house, and a flat roof that required custom fabricated ducting. It was BIG job. A lot of companies wouldnt even call us back when they heard what we needed. So, we got only two bids. A large company that starts with B and rhymes with yellows, and sun air. Sun Airs bid was a bit less, but that wasnt where the value was. It was in being listened to and actually giving us what we wanted (the other company spent hours telling us what they wanted us to have--just because it was easier). We got so much more value in equipment and installation for a lower price than we could have otherwise. Peter gave us exactly what we asked for, and then went beyond that. At every turn he would do something extra, from hauling away trash that wasnt his, to adding something that would just make things easier or look better. The benefits of having an owner on-site every day are immeasurable. You know that the work is done right by someone who has his HVAC and general contractors licenses. He was creative in solving the inevitable problems that pop up on an old house. We appreciate the time and attention they poured into our new central heat/air. And, always a good sign, our dog was smitten with Peter--she still looks out the window hoping she will see him there. We appreciate the time they spent with us, the work they did, and right now, we are really enjoying the air conditioning!

Our very old furnace went out (cracked) in early February this year while it was still very cold. When we thought it could just be fixed, we called many companies, and Peter was the only one who answered the phone and came by right away to see if he could fix it. When we found out it was not repairable, we checked Peters reviews, and they were really excellent. Peter and Adrians work was exactly what you hope for. They worked hard, were extremely knowledgable, were very conscientious, and were a pleasure to work with. Their ductwork was particularly impressive. Peter was also very careful when he had to put the cold air return in the hallway because he knew I had just painted it, and didnt want to have to redo it. His attention to detail was also excellent, and he seems very well regarded by not only his customers but by other professionals in the business. This is several months over due but I want to make sure I let everyone know how amazing Sun Air is. They did some work for me back in January. We were having heating issues and during the cold winter we had you can imagine how unpleasant that was. So we have a second house on the border of Santa Clara and San Jose. Our home had old wall heaters that weren t effective, or efficient, so we had SunAir install Central Heating and Air Conditioning with new ducts. They are experts in their field and the installation process took about 5 days. Their work is clean and the ducts were strapped tight to the girders and subfloor, so future work that requires crawling under my house will be an ease for me or another contractor. Peter took us through the step by step process to assure that we were pleased with the install. We wanted the A/C installed in a rural location that was tough to get to and they installed it there with no questions asked. Our ac unit is out of site and you can barely here it running. He is very conscious of his craftsmanship which is a hard trait to come by now a days. He and his crew were great to work with and it feels like I ve known them for years. We would use SunAir again without thinking twice.

I was having a hard time finding a heating and air company to come out to clean my dryer vent. Places werent calling me back and I could smell burning, so I was worried about a house fire. I saw a Sun Air van in my neighborhood and spoke with the owner, Peter. He offered to come by and check it out. Peter and his team were outstanding. I wouldnt hesitate to recommend them to anyone. Our AC went out on a very hot evening. Peter was at dinner with his wife and emailing with me about our HVAC issues at the same time. He showed up the next morning and spent an hour trying to figure out if it was just a quick fix, he was really only there to give us a quote to the old system. We had old wall heaters and we were for looking for quotes on an Hvac installation. Peter installed an EV charger in my garage a few months ago and did a great job. I had called a few electricians, but he stood out as being fully capable, straightforward, efficient, and reasonably priced. The result was a clean installation that has been working trouble free. A couple months later I called him back because I was having trouble with my dryer venting. He came out and diagnosed the problem right away - the previous cleaner had made a total mess of my dryer vent, actually damaging it, and making the problem worse. In short order, Peter fixed the problem, cleared the vent, and repaired the damage caused by the previous contractor. Not only that - he checked out my attic rat problem while he was here! Sun Air just finished installing a furnace and AC unit at our home in San Jose today. I saw their truck at a house on our daily walk one Saturday in Aptos where we ve been living and called. Peter has three contractor licenses so you re getting a full service contractor who knows all aspects of building not just HVAC. Peter looked at the job, gave me a bid in a timely fashion and when I accepted his bid he set a start date and was there as promised. He and Adrian, his helper, stored stock in the empty house on padded furniture pads. When I said that wasn t necessary because we were having the floors sanded he said that s not the way he works. Peter works to a high standard with quality equipment. I was very pleased with the end product, his last comment was that once we move in to give him a call if we wanted any adjustments made. Also, we were interested in Solar panels and a point of use water heater but Peter said to wait a year to see usage to get a history to know what we need, unlike others who have tried to sell us panels without that info, he said our hot water heater still had life and to wait. OH MY GOSH!!!!! Do yourself a huge favor a call Peter Cross of SunAir for all your Heating, Air Conditioning, Ventilation, Electrical and Solar issues. You will not be disappointed. I do property management, and a tennant had issues with the air conditioner on the hottest day ( 105 degrees) of the summer so far. I called 4 different HVAC companies and left messages. I was greatly surprised when within a hour Peter of SunAir called me back. I told him about the problem and he came out the same day to service the AC. Peter found that there was dirt and debris in one of the units that was making the horrible noise. He also went through the house to check the air flow in each area of the house. Finding some differences, he asked me where the crawl space was. Peter went to the trouble of checking what he could and made suggestions about what air filiters would help with optimum airflow. He must have spent at least 45 minutes with us and didnt charge me anything for his time, knowledge, talent. I dont know about you, but as a property manager I deal with many a service provider and I have NEVER had anyone not charge me at least a minimum for coming out. Peter is professional, prombt, and very knowledgeable about HVAC Repairs. My furnace died and I had no heat during a very cold and harsh time of year. Peter responded to my request for a quote very quickly and did a thorough inspection of my entire heating system. It turned out that the previous company that had installed ductwork at my home years ago had done a horrible job. So, I needed all new ductwork and a new furnace- a very large and time-consuming job. Although he already had another job he was working on at the time, Peter was able to fit my job in and work tirelessly over a weeks time (including into the evening and weekend!) so I could get my heat back as quickly as possible! Peter did a fantastic job on my air conditioning installation! Beforehand, I had researched the best practices for brazing refrigeration lines, leak checking and charging the system with refrigerant. In every instance he met or exceeded industry standards. He also used all the latest professional equipment to evacuate the system and then charge the system to proper refrigerant levels. Everything worked great after the installation yesterday (temperature 90 outside). Im looking forward to running the AC this afternoon, when the predicted high is 93 degrees. We recently purchased a home in SantaCruz, Ca and the home inspection report disclosed that the Heating & Air Conditioning system was infested with rats and rat feces. The ductwork needed to be replaced as well. Needless to say we needed our system overhauled, so we decided to reach out to SunAir for guidance on a full Hvac replacement. Peter came came up with a solution that would not only remedy the situation, but also fell within our budget. He wasn t the most expensive, but not the cheapest either, so the price was fair. The quality of the installation and equipment were outstanding and we are 100% satisfied with the services. They kept us well informed on the progress throughout the whole process. Peter and his 2 helpers removed the old heater and all the old ducts and disposed of them! Then they installed all new insulated ducts, installed the new heater and air conditioner AND a new thermostat, WIFI enabled! (I can set the unit from Starbucks, McDonalds, anywhere I get a WIFI signal !!) Cant wait for warm weather to use the new AC unit that replaced 5 fans and 2 window AC units. I am so thankful for this company and for finally having heat after freezing for a month! It was really hard getting contractors to come out for estimates on a new heating system. We needed all new ductwork and a furnace which had been destroyed by rats. Long story short, bought a house, wasnt told about the heating issues, turned on the heat and not only did it not work properly, but we all were sick with allergies for weeks. It makes me sick to think of the water, nest and nasty yuck that we breathed in for a month. I tried to call so many heating companies and no one answered their phone. Finally, a different hvac company came out to see what the issue was and lo and behold, the fun started. That being said, even that company took weeks to try to get an estimate done for a new system and still had issues following up. I had a few other companies come out for quotes and then I called Sun Air. Peter came out the next day, saw the issue, got us a quote by email super fast even though he was also booked with other clients. I did my homework and read online that the cheapest HVAC quote is not always the best. What makes a good furnace is how well it was installed. I believe that now. I had no idea how involved the issue would be. This was a week before Thanksgiving and Peter squeezed us in the next Monday. The team was super helpful and they gave me great advice in dealing with another incompetent (read my review) pest control company and tried to keep my spirits up. When you havent had heat for weeks, it is wet in cold in Boulder Creek, your toddler is sick with the sniffles and you just got ripped off by another company you need all the encouragement you can get. Everyone was so friendly. It is now the week after Thanksgiving and we have heat. An entire new system. They didnt just throw it in, they were artists! I have never looked at a heat duct and thought WOW! That is beautiful! They tried to help repair a damaged water heater pipe that we didnt know was damaged (thank you again home inspector). We have heat, rat proof aluminum flex duct work and an energy star Bryant furance. If you are going to replace an entire heating system do it right. Dont try and jenk something together with piano wire (oh it had been done on my system). If you need heating installation, get a few quotes and then come back to Sun Air. It is more than the price, it is your health and happiness. I am really grateful for these guys and hate to see them go although it is nice to have quiet again. My son loves them and that means a lot. They are welcome back anytime for pie!

I have used many different heating / air conditioning companies and all of them have fallen short of trying to fix our wall heater. within minutes of sun air coming in he found the problem and fixed it and our heater is in great condition. to top it off he came over at the end of his workday when It was completely dark and got back to me within minutes of me calling him when everyone else that I had called that day would call me a lot later or treated me like another number. I m so thankful that we have found our new Guy. My husband and I highly recommend this guy to you ! no need to look any further!

Great experience with Peter the owner today. He came to our house on time and with another employee just in case he needed help. He was professional and courteous even though we could not duplicate our concern. He helped us figure out it was probably just a temperamental thermostat on our wall heater. I worked with Peter Cross to redo our heating and ventilation in our home in Los Gatos hills. All of the ducts with eaten through by rats and he went in and fixed everything up so that our heating and AirCon is back up to speed. He also went out of the way and did more work that what was expected. He wanted to make sure that we were happy and that he gave us the best service possible. I will hire him again if any problems arises, but sine he has done the work we havent even had a hiccup.

Im a fan of Peter Cross. We live in Willow Glen in San Jose and continue to use Peter because of the work he does. Peter had done some work for us previously to upgrade our AC and heating system and to address problems cause by the prior installers. Peter gave a fair and accurate estimate and suggested an upgrade to address a need I expressed for an even more powerful system. He worked on our AC flow issues adjusting the balance, but more importantly, fixing the serious negligent work of the prior installer. Peter. corrected major faults at no additional charge. He just made it right.... And he did the same for our daughter, putting AC into a condo that didnt have an easy solution. As soon as he got into the job, he found issues that any new homeowner fears with a system put in by an unknown installer by a prior owner. He identified and corrected all issues, including fire hazards. All done without any extra expense and requiring additional time on his part. I highly recommend Peter. We called SunAir Heating, Air Conditioning, Electrical, & Solar for our furnace that needed repair at our home in Saratoga. We were extremely happy with their quickness, and response to our needs! Our furnace was repaired in under 20 minutes! We were so grateful to get heat back on! The price was very fair, and Peter was gracious, as well as timely. We decided we will be using them to replace our upstairs heating/ AC unit as well. We highly recommend him!
