The price and selection were good even during covid supply chain troubles. I got the exact bike I wanted. Kenny was very knowledgeable and helpful. It was simple to schedule my first service/tuneup and it was done a day earlier than expected. They are next door to some of the best trails in Nisene Marks Park and I will be taking advantage of their rental bikes to demo for my next purchase. Thank you for getting me riding again because bikes do change lives. I would recommend Epicenter Cycling to everyone I know.

Take the shuttle up to the top of the redwoods ride the front side down easy or take the full challenge do a loop in Demo then ride down the front side. I would be more than happy to show you the trails . Trail Smith Dave

I came into epic center cycling( first time ever) needing a repair. Chad (maybe the owner) checked me in, asked what was happening with my bike. Through my bike up on his stand, snatched my back wheel off, took apart my rear cassette, took care of two other customers at the same time, put my bike back together and sent me on my way no charge! I was in there (10 mins) ready to drop it off and come back a day or two later! I loved the energy, the customer service, the authenticity of being part of the community. Not sure but it could have been his sons working with him and were equally attentive to customers, the quality of service was next level. If you re ready ready to drop money on a repair or new rig, go here, you will be taken care of for real. I m in a market for a new bike, I m coming here, because you can tell they stand behind the products they sell in their shop and the services they provide.

Salesman Jonas at Aptos location was phenomenal. There re so blessed to have him. Knows everything & very personable. Also their maintenance program unparalleled at any other bike shop. Only problem I cannot use it as I am not from the area.

Sean and the Crew at Epicenter Cycles Aptos helped me with my purchase of a Trek Powerfly 4 e-bike yesterday. I was able to use the pedal assist to cycle around town, on some hills I ve been unable to negotiate. I ve been a road biker for the past 16 years and love riding on my own leg power, but some hills around here are too much for me! Now I can keep up with my husband and look forward with confidence to the Crater Lake ride next weekend!

Inspected and assembled a Specialized VADO with documentation and upgraded parts. Did the work very well within the time that was requested. I fully appreciated the knowledge, communication and changes assembled on the bike and would fully recommend them in the future!

Well, I left my bike (that I bought at Epicenter) here for week to get a Level 1 service. They said they d get to it by Wednesday and didn t have it ready by Friday.

Bought a Ponto Go! Ebike from Aptos Epicenter, they worked with me for a while before I narrowed down my decision. In the past 6-8 months I had some strange electrical issues, brought the bike in and they fixed it up quickly each time. Great shop, good folks.

I rented a bike and it worked great. Whole process was easy and staff was friendly.

Went in to get old road bike modified to allow son off road riding. Within a few days my bike was ready to go off into Nisene Marks park and elsewhere. The price was fair and the turn around time was short. Fully satisfied with Epicenter Cycling.

Also, you were very understanding and helpful regarding how I dropped of my bike. We presently quarantine at home. You came out to by my car and picked up and dropped off my bike, I didnt need to go into your store.

Do not go to this bicycle shop if you bye a bike from them and if you do not like the bike they tell you can t return it bye state law you can return your bike after 30 days my friend bought a bike because the bike was too small for her and she had to return it to get the right size I took about an hour and a half to get a new one

Theyre extremely friendly and incredibly helpful. I drive in from Prunedale just to have my bike service done at Epicenter. Im ordering a new Trek from them this week. they won t work on your bike !!! had a pierced tire and they sent me Bike in Santa Cruz instead of of shop nearby called Cyclepath in Aptos village. . First no help while I have been a Custumer for years and live in aptos and was far away from home unable to make any repair but no help telling me a store os close by !

The bike I got from here is amazing and the helmet I purchased has probably saved my life a couple times already. Everyone is always very helpful and they keep my bike in great shape.

The best bike shop in Santa Cruz County! The staff is amazing, and I cant say enough about how great of a guy Kenny is. He always greets everyone with a smile and genuinely listens to your problems before offering his professional recommendation on the best course of action to get it fixed. Really a great spot and they really know their stuff!!

POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE - Although there were 3 techs in the shop and no other customers, they refused to fix a flat tire claiming that they dont fix tires on Specialized Bikes. They later amended this statement by adding that they dont fix flat tires on any e-bikes other than Trek. This was verified by another rider that had the same problem trying to get a flat fixed there. The funny thing is that if the wheel is off the bike, it become just a wheel and could be from any bike. I have NEVER had such POOR customer service.

I suppose they are nice people. Alas my experience was less than pleasant. The mechanic did not perform the full drive train service eg; re pack bearings etc. Mind you I paid 360.00 for the service. The mechanic was misinformed about compatibility I suppose. Though it worked fine when I came in, it no longer shifted properly when I left....unfortunately I had to leave the bike and have the service done. Irony is Ive worked on bikes for over 40 years and thought Id treat myself. Trick or treat maybe lol They do have rentals which is great for the state park.....just up soquel though is a nice little shop. Personalized and professional not snooty...

Aptos shop has a great crew that takes care of the customers. They have kept me stoked on buying from them in the first place. Honest and quick repairs and tunes. They got me into a great bike that exactly fit my needs. As I m starting to look for a second bike, I will be looking at Epicenter first. Updating, as we are on our third bike with Kenny and crew in Aptos. Great service and sales.

Service department made time for my request, got me back on my wheels for a really reasonable price and - best of all - didnt judge me or my really low key bicycle! Good folks.

Worst of Santa Cruz, I came here after sitting in gnarly traffic after work. Shop was closing and I was going on a riding trip to Oregon that night. I needed a new chain ring and small sprocket. I needed ANY set up so I could pedal. I talked to the dude putting g the bikes away outside and he said talk to service. I was there for product not service. I went to service and he told me they were closed and he couldnt help me. I told him it was 445 and they close at 5. I then realized both employees wanted nothing to do with selling me anything or helping me. They just wanted to go home early and close the shop. I would have spent $500-800 but instead I left with nothing. So heres to you not epic epicenter cycling.

After not riding for a year, I was ready to get back on the road. Wanted a little assurance that my bike hadnt fallen apart while it sat getting dusty in my garage. Appreciated the no judgement (at least to my face!) on all the weirdness I have going on with my bike, the pleasant service and peace of mind I got to help me back out there. Thanks!!!

Came in May 17 asking about a tune up. They said, bring your bike. Came back with my bike May 31, they said, make an appointment. You want to be sure youre wearing bike shorts, and clip shoes for these dudes, nothing like good old biking for fun. Oh, and bring your bike in to schedule an appointment for a month out.

My first time in. Looks like a nice store. 3 weeks for bike repair though. Seems long.

I m constantly impressed with the level of customer service and quality of products at Epicenter Cycling. I went in recently to have a new Ritchey stem put on my road bike for a better fit, as well as having my saddle adjusted. The service was efficient and personable, and I left knowing my rides are going to be more comfortable from here on. I also needed to exchange a pair of clipless shoes, and again received superb customer service. This is definitely my go-to bike shop the guys who run the place are knowledgeable, patient, and have never tried to up sell to me or push me to buy something that I didn t need. That level of trustworthiness will keep me as a loyal customer for as long as I live in the area!

Friendly staff and good customer service. Shopping experience felt a little rushed due to the current COVI 19 situation. Felt they could attend three customers at a time if they keep them 20 feet apart and brought the products to them and establish a rotation system to make sure all customers had a chance to see the products they want to shop for. Overall, following the COVID19 protocols and maintaining a professional environment.

These guys have a lot of good stuff, staff if very friendly and helpful, a lot of shops I ve been to lately are pretty out of stock due to COVID-19 but Epicenter is well stocked up.

Good local bike shop. Very focused on serving the Nisene Marks mountain bike crowd. The only downside is that their service department can get really busy during peak season.

Nice helpful people, and they organized max number of people to go in in Covid time. Me and my friends bough 2 Marlin 7 bi-cycles We got 15% off on our helmets/ locks, etc. I was looking for Specialized/ any mountain bikes. No other bi-cycle store has a mountain bike availability under 1000$. I was very lucky to get brand new Marlin 7 cycle here. Nice people are here. I highly recommend.

Good experience. Had to get a new tube to replace the new tube a shop in Bakersfield had just installed about 12 hours earlier. Tire was flat without riding yet. The guy at Epicenter told us the rim band was old, so he replaced free of charge. This is the good service I should have had the day before in Bakersfield, but did not. Fantastic staff! My husband and I ended up having to go to both stores the Aptos store and the Santa Cruz store since we were at the Aptos store but the Santa Cruz store had a bike that I wanted. All the staff at the Aptos store went out of their way to help us from one staff (Kenny I believe) calling the Trek credit department because I didn t have my card, another staff member ( I can not remember his name ) installing the bike carrier on the back of our suburban and showing my husband how to use it. Then finally Matthew helping me actually pick out a bike and helmet and everything else he was extremely patient with my pickiness and lack of knowledge on the bikes. At the Santa Cruz store we were helped by Chris who even though it was closing time was still very patient with us and helped fit me on the bike and made all the adjustments it needed. He took his time and made sure I was comfortable leaving with the bike with no more questions and even recommended a great place to eat!

Rented a bike and used their shuttle for Demo Forest and everything was fantastic. Great advice on which trails to ride and provided several alternative options for the brutal climbs which were very helpful. Only had one day to ride this time out so Ill definitely be coming back for some more Demo trails and shuttle goodness.

The staff is always friendly and knowledgeable. Great rentals and the Aptos one has the shuttle up to the demo forest so you can ride back down into Aptos.

Worked with Kenny, he was very patient and informative. Very pleasant experience ending up with a good purchase thanks to his insight. Probably would have just looked around that day but he answered all my questions/provided comparisons between different models and made the sale a breeze. 10/10 would shop again. Service team did a great job installing all my accessories.

Yes the bikes are awesome, yes the prices and the free tune ups for life are really great, yes its right next to some world-class trails, but the atmosphere and community is why you should go to Epicenter. Aptos store has been very helpful.

The folks who work at Epicenter are regular, friendly people. Too many bike stores are run by pushy salespeople, so its nice to feel comfortable shopping casually. The shop is right at the entrance to Nisene Marks park where lot a of dirt riders end up stopping for last minute forgotten gear (co2, spare tires, gloves, tune ups.)

It has been more than 10 years since I bought my first bike in the East Coast. My buying experience here was totally different. The attentive and friendly service totally impressed me! Highly recommended.

Love this bike store. They always fix my bike on the go! and off i go on my bike ride. !!!!!

I fouled my chain badly and thought I was looked at a wrecked gear train. The mechanic freed the chain, carefully inspected the chain and sprockets, explained what he was doing, relubricated the chain, assured me there was no damage, adjusted the derailer, carefully wiped all the grease off the bike, and returned the bike to me without charge (because I bought it there), all in about 10 minutes. This is not the first time I have had great service, both here and at the west Santa Cruz location.

I visited this wonderful shop in April. I had been shopping for a bike from Livermore down to Aptos and by far this was the best shop in the Bay Area. They fit me on a bike, changed out the stem, watched me ride, etc. The only personalized service I have ever gotten. Awesome!

Epicenter Cycling has always given me great, personalized service. The employees know their stuff and are easy to work with. The locations are great too.
