It is a place we would always go back to!|The great location , the warm welcome, the facilities make it ideal for a family with children. |It is a truly a harbour of peace, 2 steps away from the gorgeous national parks. Kids have a lot of space to play around while parents can relax after a day of unforgettable hiking |We definitely recommend!
My wife and I recently enjoyed a truly special stay at the charming St. Anna's House! The breathtaking panoramic views from our porch made every moment feel like a postcard, and the cozy atmosphere in our room was the perfect way to unwind after a day of hiking. The owners, Anna and Bogdan, were very friendly and went above and beyond to ensure our comfort, even recommending hidden local trails for stunning sunsets in the Sequoia National Park. We can't wait to return for another magical mountain getaway!
The whole experience was above and beyond expectations! The maintenance and cleaning staff were very accommodating, when we arrived, ( before we had our door lock codes)! I highly recommend these accommodations if you’re in the area! I hope to book again next time I’m in the area!
We visited St.Anna's House as we truly wanted to experience Sequoia National Park in the winter. We stayed in Room B in the Blue Mountain Lodge. We had a wonderful stay and we would like to come again next winter season. The hosts were very kind and helpful, giving us many recommendations about the sights in the area
Booked a room at this "hotel"(which upon arrival turned out to be a cheap scummy airbnb) the other night thinking that it would be a nice quiet and minimal stay near the parks. When we arrived after dark, we pulled up to a trailer home that was obviously cut in half to convert it into two "hotel rooms". When we entered, the trailer felt lopsided and had an odd smell that was off putting and foul. The furniture, room and shower were all dated, but that isn't a big deal. There were glue traps for bugs and mice all around the room. The fridge was dirty and the freezer had some sort of dish with a mystery liquid and a stick of butter in there which was again concerning. It didn't look like it had been cleaned very well. The bedroom was dim and had a window AC unit. Went to sit on the bed and there were bugs in the bed. I'm no expert but even in Florida our hotels and airbnbs don't have bugs in the bed... we left immediately and did not stay the night because of how disgusting this place was. It wasn't expensive, but for the same price at a motel 6, at least I know my bed is clean. Tried to get a refund and wasn't given any of my money back. Will never stay here and I am planning to report this listing as unsafe and unsanitary.
My wife and I stayed here Oct. 4 - 7 for a trip to Sequoia & King's Canyon. We had Room A in the Blue Building at the top of the hill. Previous reviewers have mentioned how quiet the property is - I agree, and that makes it highly desirable, especially after a long day in the National Parks. The provided amenities (fridge, coffee make, dining ware, etc.) were all very nice. We especially enjoyed the DVD player and the collection of older films (Casablanca, Shawshank Redemption, etc). In my opinion, the room was exactly what you want to come back to after a long day when the point of your vacation is to disconnect/get away from the city for a few days. Thank you to the staff at St. Anna's - we will certainly consider staying here again should we find ourselves in the area.
I booked a month ago, all was good. Today, the day of my stay, I departed on my 4 hour trip to stay at this place and 1hr before my arrival the booking got canceled...... No warning or any prior communication. I had this booking for a month, they could have canceled it at any time, but chose to do it when I was already on the way. I'm just lucky that I was tired and chose to drive through Fresno instead of the mountain roads, so I was able to find alternative lodging.
The room was quaint, comfortable bed the shower was nice. The room amenities included coffee maker, mini fridge and also a set of dinnerware and wine glasses. The tap/sink water was reddish/orange coming out of the tap when we got there so purchased bottles waters at a local store. Secluded, not easily seen from the road and road noise was minimal when we were there. Great location, off the main highway but close enough to get to the Sequoias or Pine Flat Lake within an hour or so.
We felt at home into our charming King Room with mountain view wich gave comfort due to all facilities but also privacy having a lot of space around. The porch with a big table is a great place to enjoy the sunset in the evening with a glass of wine. It was an excellent base to discover the unique Sequoia National Park a truly natural wonder. Our hosts gave us great tips to discover the region. We want to come back in the summer 2025. It is a very good accomodation and it is so close to the park entrance.
Its pretty good by I got jump scared on arrival
I had a horrible experience with this place and its owners, Anna and Bogdan. I booked through Airbnb, but upon arrival, we discovered there was no water. We couldnt flush the toilet, use the fridge, or even take a shower no water at all. When I contacted Anna and Bogdan, they promised to fix the situation and provide a significant discount. So, I didnt report the issue directly to Airbnb. Little did I know, this decision left me without recourse for a refund, and they took advantage of the policy. We had to buy gallons of water first thing the next morning just to have basic necessities. Additionally, our bathroom still wouldnt work, so we had to use the bathroom of another property. They wasted a great deal of my time, pretending they would refund me, only to wait until my review window closed. While I understand that unfortunate situations can arise, its how they handled it that truly baffles me. I want to caution others about this experience, and I hope this doesnt happen to anyone else. Please be aware that Anna and Bogdan, the owners, are not trustworthy. EDIT: I am absolutely referring to your property. Your response only further demonstrates how deceptive you can be. :) Please be cautious when dealing with Anna and Bogdan.
The pictures are a lie... Dont book here... Extremely deceptive... Service is horrible and theres no one on site.
Good place to getaway from the hustle and bustle. Nice COLD A/C comfortable beds with Clean Sheets. DONT FORGET your Telescope great place for Stargazing o got to see a few meteor
The bed was comfortable. The room was very small and basic but it met our needs. It s about a 35 minute scenic and winding drive to Kings Canyon. Host was very kind!
Cute, cozy rooms in a nice location, though a bit isolated. Nothing extravagant, but nice for a one or two night stay. Rooms equipped with A/C, mini fridge, microwave, coffeemaker, and a small set of dishes. Nice shower, but the water temperature was very fluctuant. Could not get a comfortable temperature and keep it there. There was some confusion upon arrival surrounding checking in, but an email with all the necessary information was provided. A number to call was also provided in the email for any issues or questions.
Insect infestation. Bed Bugs, cockroaches and large spiders. Filthy. Dangerous Electrics. No fire precautions. Stained and threadbare towels. Unauthorised card debit. Owner Bogdan wrongly stored card data and charged a substantial unauthorised card debit resulting in precautionary cancelation of the card. Rooms: Filthy infestation. Fire risk. Bedding left outside overnight. Risk to health with unclean ice machine next to open refuse. Safety: OPEN ELECTRIC POINTS and NO FIRE PRECAUTIONS
Landscaping could use maintenance.
It was a horrible experience. Normally i dont write review but this time i choose to write to alert others about my horrible stay. After such horrible experience owner is least bothered to revert my stay price was also bumped up without my notice I wish i could give 0 starts. We were completely deceived . Called the stay 2 hours before arrival and owner mentioned room was excellent and he offered me 20 % discount on the stay. When our family arrived along with a child room was completely a mess. Everyone was so scared to stay in the room. - Used towels all around room - Bed was messy - Dishes all around - TV did not work - Bathroom was not good. - Room was like a month used and uncleaned Since it was too late to check other options we had to stay there. in the morning when i called management he assured to revert my charges but so far after 4 weeks i dont see any response. Better sleep in your car than such place.
Small, pretty rooms, friendly hosts. Price performance top.
First the good: the location is terrific. Next to sequoia national park and kings canyon. Rooms are in a scenic location right in nature a bit small but cozy. Bathroom was new and nicely built. But now comes the part Im really disappointed about. Instead of a quite rest in nature... We couldnt sleep because of a running generator (all night long!) waking the entire site. On top of that our room was infested with bugs, the first hour we couldnt rest because were squashing flies and earworms in our room. The walls have ears.. They are so thin you hear everything from your neighbors. To conclude the bedsheets were smelly and itchi and the night fee is overall too high given my explanation above. This place has a huge potential with its location and scenery, but a minimum standard is lacking to recommend this to other visitors.
This was truly an awful experience. If you want the most remote, difficult to get to place to stay in the area, this is it! The scenery around here is beautiful and that is its one redeeming quality. The room we stayed in could hardly be considered a hotel. More like a slumlord airbnb. As far as we can tell, it was a house divided into two rooms. The main place, room A had a beautiful front porch, where we stayed, room B, had a small set of stairs leading up to the entrance. The whole area was covered in live bugs, mostly moths and mosquitoes but also ants and other flying insects were present. As soon as you walk in, you have two squeeze by a huge double sink because the entrance is through the bathroom! After you walk past the toilet and shower, you get to the actual room. The room had a window A/C unit and heater, a microwave, mini fridge, tv, and coffee maker. The closets had glue traps and droppings, the floor was dirty and the whole place felt a bit lopsided and creaky. For furniture there was a table and chairs, and tv stand, a queen sized bed and little tables for night stands. It was dirty and stale but thankfully the AC and heater worked great. What didn t work was the WiFi there was a router but it flashed green and the owner just said use the other one it worked about half the time but was for the main house and was too far away to be reliable. We used hotspots on our phones (which barely worked out here). We didn t touch the tv. The main event though, the one that could redeem a million other issues is the bed. Unfortunately this bed was just awful. The whole thing was tilted at an angle causing the person sleeping on that side to roll towards the middle, super creaky and hard, the comforter smelled and we had a suspicion it had not been washed. And while you sleep mosquitoes dine upon your blood as a little nighttime snack. The bugs were outrageous to me. I literally bought bug spray and mosquito repellent to try and stay sane. The shower was disgusting and barely worked. The mechanism to turn it on required a shocking amount of strength and pulling in a way that made no sense to us, also the hot water is on when the arrow points to cold and vice-versa. I did not enjoy the stay and the hosts did not make it comfortable. They should consider renovating this place to make it more livable. Seal up the holes and cracks, fix the shower, and get a new bed and frame. If you choose to stay here, I hope it s improved since my visit!
In as few words AWESOME CLEAN TRANQUILITY. Nothing agaist this place at all I never give five stars to anyplace because I believe No matter WHAT theres always room for improvement
Nice quiet location, a little off-road off the road. The rooms are a bit noisy. The shower worked fine. The bed was okay. All in all a pleasant 2 night stay. Rooms
I would highly recommend St. Anna s Room for stay. Very clean, quaint room with a very large bathroom and shower. You have your own private entrance, which is nice if you re coming and going, you don t have to bother anyone. The owners are great at communicating, which makes it so easy to book. The stay was so comfortable and would highly recommend!
Nice location. A bit outdated house of which we had 1 room. But everything was there. Food and drinks: Only pizzeria nearby. But was enough for us.
Perfect, quaint & family-friendly location near Grant Grove.
I loved my room. Very quiet place. Bogdan was super helpful. Thank you
Life savers! Great room, shower and ac! Perfect!
Thank you Bogdan. Saturday 9pm, no reservation he got me room with 2 beds, TV, A/C and modern shower. This place is like a ranch. Reminded me my child hood. Animals and wild life around. Absolutely safe. Room was clean. With coffee machine and all kind of dishes, glasses and silverware. TV, WiFi House was very easy to find. We slept well. Thank you. I definitely will stop by again Bogdan is extremely helpful. Thank you PS liberals and complainers might want choose to drive to corporate hotels miles away. We absolutely loved stay here.
Anna and family were so warm and welcoming that we shared stories with them right upon our arrival! The Sherman Room was perfect for us, clean, great price and perfect location for our 3-day stay during visits to Sequioa National Park and King s Canyon National Park. Anna gave us ideas for restaurants and made sure we were comfortable. We would highly recommend St. Anna s House for a quiet retreat in the country and closeness to these two amazing parks!
Not a good experience,1- talked to the owner before booking gave me a price out the door he said it would be $120 this was on a Friday then when I checked my back noticed he had charged $148. 2-There was no bath towels for us to use. 3-Dangerous building materials right outside the rooms as you walk to your parked car. 4- Suspicious activity going on and around the property at night.. You decide
I got a traumatic experience here. Fleas left bites are still not healed after 3 weeks. Ruined my vacation. Now Im still struggling with the medical consequences. Safety: Dirt path drive way to the room. It didnt feel safe driving on it in the dark evening without any lights.
We stayed here for 3 days. This was a great place to stay at and was close to the Sequoia National Park. The room was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. At night it has a good vibe to it, and you can enjoy the night view with millions of twinkling stars. There wasnt anything that I disliked about this hotel. Everything was great.
We stayed old single mobile home, unit A. Its unkempt, miss-match old and cheap everything. But, has minimum necessities are met. We were able to cook, showered, slept. Watched TV and wifi, flushing toilet. Cheap $60 motel type in middle of nowhere.
Clear rooms with good service
A hidden gem - budget friendly, located very close to the park entrance, easy to find and get to. Spacious, clean, and super quiet, great WiFi. The host was very easy-going and pleasant to deal with. Me, my husband, and our 3 year old enjoyed the stay and will certainly book it again, I definitely recommend.
Amazing, cozy room. There is a small patio with a round table, made for a relaxing rainy evening. The shower room had an unusual, very spacious design. Plenty of room for parking. The host was friendly, accommodating and welcoming. Everything that was needed, was there, including wi-fi. 5/5 would come again.
Cozy and spacious cottages in a very quiet area near Kings Canyon and Sequoia National Park entrance. Had everything we needed and the owner was always available on WhatsApp.
Great Staff Clean Rooms
Super convenient to Kings Canyon, the Cat Haven, and Delilah Ridge Winery. Gorgeous chandeliers and a great big shower in the unit!
Some of these reviews leave me scratching my head. Its a Beautiful place. 3 bedroom home I approximate over 2000sq + feet. Gorgeous kitchen counter tops. A decent size Book And movie collection. The master bathroom Is like its own room. Amazing 2 person Bathtub. My children especially Enjoyed the tree swing that they have. The landscape is stunning in itself. Why stay in a hotel? when you could have a whole place to yourself. We felt the owners where very gracious and responsive. If you love nature and want all the extra space 100% I recommend this place for you.
Worst experience ever. We (two couples) booked two rooms and they said one room cannot be cleaned due to their cleaning staff s emergency after we got there. I called their property manager and he seemed nice to give me another option which is the closest motel. I asked him if the motel had a two bed room for four people and if he can do full refund in this situation. He said sure but when we paid $145 for the motel they still charged us $130 for one of the st Anna s house rooms. If you cannot clean your rooms why the heck you let us pay for it? This place is just robbing customers money and plus their location is really hard to find and the rooms are dirty as hell.
This is a late but very well deserved review- we stayed there just right after Easter for the nearby Monastery visit. The owner and his wife were very warm hosts, communicated great and paid a lot of attention to all our needs. We will surely return when we visit the Monastery again- thank you! Rooms
This place is awful. So unsanitary, trash everywhere, not secure, animals on property being starved, ants all in the kitchen area, no one attending the so called Main House. This is no Bed and Breakfast, Cottage, or Airbnb as the website stated. This place needs to be closed down. One of the worst experiences ever. Please look at the pictures they do not lie.
Worst experience...... cleanliness no way.....worst.....
A very non traditional room situation offered by rural farmers, it was the closest we could get to Sequoia National Park. The rooms are in a remodeled barn and quite cozy. We slept well and enjoyed the solititude.
Great place to relax, enjoy nature and freedom. Perfect location to visit Sequoia and King s Canyon National Parks. Also an amazing location to watch stars! Great communication with the hosts, very friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and well equipped (e.g. King Bed, good internet,...).
We stayed with our kids at St Anna s house and we truly felt at home.Just a step away from beautiful national parks this is a great location to explore the whole region. The rooms are clean and the hosts always ready to help making your stay really pleasant.A place not to miss if you are in the area.We have not seen it all and we ll definitely come back !
We started in one of the trailers. Surfaces were clean but no one had cleaned under couches or beds in a long time: accumulated dust and plastic bottles. They were painting the outside. The local cats were friendly.
The owners are fantastic, affordable clean rooms, quiet and away from highway traffic, close to Sequoia National park. If your fishing the Kings River take the drive through Wonder Valley back to St Annas place .The best place to stay in the Sierra foot hills.
Cute property. Clean rooms peaceful place.
It was a wonderful stay for us! Off the beaten path and very quiet and peaceful. The staff were very communicative if we needed anything at at all. Would definitely recommend staying here. Great place to stay if visiting Kings Canyon or Sequoia National Park!
Nice and clean
Good place solid rooms
This hotel charged my card for multiple nights after I cancelled before my allowed check in time. They refuse to return my calls. Buyer beware this company!
Friendly staff, lovely place! Enjoyed our stay very much.
It s not too big but you got most you need for one night! The host is super friendly and easy hanging out. We enjoyed staying here and quiet night to rest . Because it s still new property for the host , they are still building up, hope next time when we come , we will see more structure outside, garden or swimming pool ..
Not a great value for money. A veteran wood chalet. Toilets and shower located in the entrance. Liked · Bogdan the owner is very kind and helpful and was giving us a warm welcome. Fluffy and big bath towels. Disliked · Room B has very odd design. The sink, shower and toilets are located in the entrance corridor, thus if someone use them you cant go out or in the apartment. Internet connection was very poor and actually not usable. There is a TV in room but you cant see nothing. The shower needs a remodeling The value for money is not great compare to other places I stayed during my trip
Lovely place to stay, nice accommodations and the hosts were very gracious. We plan to come and stay again sometime in the future. Very helpful hosts for area attractions.
Definitely not staying here again not even for free . The House was full of flys in ever part of the house. Couldnt eat or sleep Comfortably. Bathroom vent did not work and the extra bed we requested, Was so bad I ended up sleeping on the floor both nights. There was plywood covered large section of the kitchen floor that was sinking down. Looked like the place was under remodel /Construction. Totally unacceptable and Not worth what we were charged. Own was great on the phone but that did not make up for the terrible stay. Would not recommend this place to anyone.
Wonderful! We really enjoyed our stay at this cozy farm! Room B was comfy, decorative and clean. It was a perfect location (Squaw Valley) to visit and explore Sequoia/Kings Canyon National Parks. Bogdan and Brandi are fabulous hosts; from booking, places to eat, things to do, area information etc. they have all bases covered and are fast to respond to any questions or things you may need. Lovely in all ways! Cant wait to come back :) Thank you!
Grait place for hosting
Bogdan and Brandi where amazing hosts! They were extremely friendly and had tons of ideas for places to go for local trips. The House was close proximity for Sequoia and Kings Canyon both of which we were going to for holiday. There were a few local restaurants that were close to the property and a local gas station which was nice for Ice and snacks for our trips. We stayed in room B which had a king bed, mini fridge, wi-fi, TV, Coffee. All the basics were covered and a lovely location in the back woods! A beautiful location off the beaten path with a nice table out front to drink our morning coffee. We had a nice local cat that kept us company every morning! We had a large room and had a wonderful time! Mike
Steer clear! No hot water, trash littering the entire property, substandard construction, incomplete construction.
Bad, bad, bad. Fingernails on floor, dirty fridge, flat, stained pillows (their famed MyPillows?). The smells, the sounds. Yikes.
Very quiet location, pretty scenery.
We really enjoyed this stay. We stayed in Room B which was the king bed. It was plenty of space and the owners even cooked breakfast for us! It is not a 5 star stay, but was very close to the entrance to Sequoia and we loved the exclusivity.
Stayed here with my two boys 11 and 8 and my wife and we just love it. Its what living in the hills should be. Its close to a gas station and places to order food. The view of the stars are just amazing. If youre looking for a 5 star hotel than this place is not for you, but if you want beautiful rustic mountain view and feeling like you are apart of the outdoors, than welcome to St. Annas House.
Very quaint little place. Room was very clean.
Very nice accommodations. We stayed in the Sherman and Sequoia rooms. Clean and comfortable. Great location near Sequoia NP.
Cozy Air BnB in Squaw Valley near Sequoia/Kings Canyon. Lovely hosts and comfy accommodations!
Sleeping in the middle of nowhere. Too bad there is little in the area. You hear your neighbors!
Charming, peaceful, In the foothills of the Sierra Nevada.Cute, cozy cabin for 2. The long driveway needs to be grated.
Excellent experiance
Its a very nice and cozy place, it has all the necessary amenities: refrigerator, microwave, modern shower, Wi-Fi, clean and ironed sheets, comfortable beds... Personally, everything was perfect.
Wonderful place with wonderful people close to Holy Monastery The Theotokos. Comfortable and cozy, really pleasant and clean rooms. All Turturiches are incredibly, helpful and generous with their time and food. Seraphim is the best handyman that we met. We can t wait to go back
A very nice guesthouse, close to the national park and in a very quiet location. Room B was equipped with a refrigerator and microwave, and there were chairs and a table outside. Since there is no supermarket or restaurant nearby, you should plan on bringing your own food. Ana contacted us via WhatsApp on the day of arrival and was available at any time. We met Bogdan, her husband, at check-out. He is a very friendly person who gave us good tips for our onward journey.
