AAMCO Transmissions & Total Car Care in Walnut Creek

I was very pleased with the service Derek and his team provided. I had a leak on my Suburban from the rear main seal which involves removing the transmission. They warranty their service as well which is a huge plus. I had my vehicle back the same week and everything has been running great since, no leaks. My breather hose for my transmission was loose and dangling on the ground so it would have been nice to be told by the tech I needed a new clip but nothing a zip tie can’t fix. Definitely would recommend taking your vehicle to this location.

Derek and the crew at AAMCO are exceptional. Our 2003 Infiniti SUV couldn’t be smogged because the “Service Engine Soon” light had come on and the codes indicated a transmission issue (our regular mechanic referred us to WC AAMCO to address the issue). They thoroughly inspected the transmission, locating and repairing the problem, and gave us the vehicle back in much better shape. A rat had chewed through many wires in the electrical system, making the problem difficult to nail down and complicated to repair, but they fixed it all, comprehensively, affordably, and in as timely a manner as humanly possible, with courtesy update calls throughout the process. Derek and everyone at AAMCO are simply the best — super knowledgeable, communicative, friendly and genuine, and great at what they do (which seems like pretty much anything you’d need done!). This is a really good group of mechanics and service personnel. I use them for anything beyond an oil change (I do those) and they've kept my 2005 Explorer running very well. Derek has been extremely helpful and flexible. He showed up on his day off so I can pick up my vehicle. I appreciate this level of customer service especially since my work schedule is the same as his shop hours. I will definitely keep coming back and recommend others to give him a try.

Derek and Huang got my 1985 Saab up and running after it was non operational for a couple years. I was fearful that my old car was beyond repair but through tenacity (getting parts from a Saab reseller on the East Coast), communication (working with me to prioritize which repairs should be performed immediately), and specialized knowledge (Huang is a Saab expert), Derek and Huang got it running very well! Instead of the $9,000 in repairs my dealership quoted me, Derek and his partners were able to fix my transmission issue for only $2,300. My car drives great now, and I’m grateful to the folks at AAMCO for their honesty, technical knowledge and fair prices. I’ll definitely be back!

Didn't get service done but they were a lot of help anyway. I just bought a new car and was having some trouble. Derek took a look and at my car and told me everything I need to know about the problems, how to go about renegotiating with my seller, and how much repairs would cost. I had previous went to the AAMCO in concord, but the woman at the front desk wanted to charge $120 just to look at the transmission without repair, but here in walnut creek, I was given a full check and even a typer up document of everything wrong with my car. They were friendly and didn't seem like they were trying to scam me out of my money. 10/10 experience. I will definitely be coming back when I do happen to need a service next time.
