Pep Boys in Sunnyvale

Came in for a diagnostic on my AC for $30. Found nothing wrong even though clearly the driver and passenger AC had very different temperatures. All they offered was to recharge but they said it may or may not fix the issue. After my experience I’m skeptical about the competency of the mechanics here.

I had a very disappointing experience at this place. I brought my car in for an alignment, but things quickly went downhill. First, the staff didn’t even know how to start my car, which was already frustrating. The worst part was that there was only one mechanic available, and I was told I would have to wait five hours just for an alignment. This was completely unacceptable. I understand that things can get busy, but being told to wait this long with no alternative or assistance made me feel extremely neglected. Not only did I feel like my time wasn’t respected, but it also felt like the staff was unprepared to handle basic tasks. It was a huge inconvenience and left me feeling frustrated and disappointed. I had expectations of professionalism and efficiency, but this experience was the exact opposite. It’s really disheartening when you take your car in for a simple service and end up feeling more stressed out than when you came in. I really hope the management takes the time to improve their staff training and customer service. This experience has left a sour taste, and I would not recommend this place to anyone looking for reliable service.

I came in on Monday morning around 8am! The gentleman at the front desk was super helpful, I apologize I didn’t catch his name and I was super tired! He helped answer all my questions and got my realignment done in about 30 mins! I was in and out within an hour and I was very pleased with the teams service! even being able to watch them work on my car was so cool to see! Thank you for an amazing service! Will be back when I need my next one

Came in for an alignment under a 3 yrs purchased. Shared info of the service I needed. Asked if he need to see the orig purchase, he told me to wait. I waited. Then he went to the car to take info. Asked him again if he needed the orig receipt, he told me to go back in the store to wait. Why? It's my car, don't I have the right to see what a service provider is doing with my car? Back in the store, then he told me to get the receipt because it was done a diff store. How rude. I tried to explain that the work was done less than 12 mo and tires have excessive wear on inside edge that 2 tires blew out, that the current set of tires were brand new, and if he could let the technician know. He refused. I ask to speak with a mgr. Said he will let the manager know. Found out the mgr was out that day. The asst mgr was standing at the kiosh the whole time and said nothing! Another customer came in, ask for a free AC check seen on website. he said it is for diff states only. “Read the fine print” HOW RUDE!!!!

Should've trusted the ratings. My appointment was at noon for a simple tire rotation. After waiting for three hours they told me it would be another hour! I left without getting my car serviced. They clearly don't respect their own schedules. Don't waste your time here.

Unprofessionalism & Aggressive Approach from Counter Staff I recently visited pep Boys, Sunnyvale and had an extremely disappointing experience. The counter staff member, Jack, exhibited an unprofessional and aggressive demeanor throughout my visit. His behavior was rude and confrontational, which made the entire experience uncomfortable and distressing. Additionally, I brought my vehicle in for an inspection, and it was clear that the inspection was intentionally failed, despite there being no legitimate reasons for it. This appears to have been done purposefully, leaving me with unnecessary costs and delays. To make matters worse, I was offered a number plate bulb for $27 each, which I found to be overpriced, especially given the poor service and lack of transparency I received. I am requesting a full refund of $19.99 for the failed inspection. I feel that I was taken advantage of by being charged for the inspection while simultaneously being blacklisted from returning to the property. Zack even threatened to call the cops when I raised my concerns at the reception desk, which was completely uncalled for and unnecessary. The service I received was unacceptable, and I do not believe I should be charged for services that were mishandled or overcharged. I hope this review highlights the lack of professionalism and fairness I encountered, and I strongly urge others to be cautious when dealing with this business.

Changed my tires with no hassle. Took about 2 hours as promised, price was transparent online, tires were in stock. They did alignment on my tires with a noticeable improvement. Prices were fair. No wait to drop off or pick up, highly recommend!

They keep the doors locked and only allow 2 customers in the store at a time. It's 9:30AM and there's a line of people waiting to get in. Once you get inside the guys working here are actively discouraging people from buying anything or having their car serviced. It's the strangest thing I've ever seen at an auto repair place. The guy with the tattoos all over (NOR-CAL tattoo guy) seems very agitated and is talking to one of the customers in a very aggressive sort of intimidating manner. It would make me VERY uncomfortable but the guy he's talking to is handling it well. There are several reasons I could list as to why I never recommend bringing your car to a Pep Boy's for any sort of repair/ maintenance. However, I would avoid this particular place even if you just want to buy a bottle of car wax or windshield wipers. It is absolutely that bad
