I can't say enough good things about my experience with Mr. Joel Flick and his car repair service! After purchasing a used car from a dealer, I ran into a persistent issue with the TPMS that the dealership tried (and failed) to fix on two separate occasions. I even took the car to a local mechanic, but they couldn’t figure it out either. Mr. Flick was able to diagnose and resolve the problem in just half an hour while I waited! Not only was he able to fix the issue, but he also took the time to explain the entire TPMS system to me, making sure I understood what had gone wrong and how it works. As someone with little knowledge of cars, I really appreciated his patience and clear explanations. Mr. Flick’s kindness, professionalism, and expertise completely turned my frustrating situation around. I can’t recommend him highly enough! If you’re looking for top-notch service from a knowledgeable and genuinely caring mechanic, he’s the one to go to. He truly made my day!

Great business, highly recommended and I’m happy to share this little gem to people who look for German cars regular maintenance and stand alone repair. I came here for my Audi rear shocks replacement. The price was great and the parts they ordered is OEM. Repair time was within half day. Joel is very knowledgeable, informative, and trustworthy to customer. The experience was great and very efficient. The only two services not include in the shop are alignment and tire change but the owner do have recommended surrounding business to work on these two.

I was trying to replace my battery with just an adjustable wrench but there was a screw for the mounting bracket that was too deep to loosen. Costco wouldn’t help or even let me borrow a tool even though I purchased the new battery there. So after some failed attempts, I drove to a totally random auto shop nearby and explained my situation. The gentleman at this shop was willing to help loosen and tighten the bracket for me free of charge while I installed the rest of the parts myself. I insisted paying for his lunch since he was so kind to help. I didn’t get his name but thank you to whoever it was.

Joel did a fast, reasonably- priced job that the dealership wanted $800 for! At less than half of that, taking half the time, I'll be back! So great to find a knowledge, honest, fast, and reasonably priced shop!!

Phenomenal service! Joel Flink at German Auto Service is thorough, knowledgeable, honest, educational, patient with my and my husband's questions, and he provides excellent value. I brought Joel a 2013 MINI Cooper S a day after purchasing it from a private party. Yes, I did the buying process backwards! 🤣 I was so scared that I may have bought some unknown problems. Joel checked the car end to end and top to bottom, gave me context on some disclosed issues, explained other potential issues, and taught me how to prevent them and what to look for. Now I know exactly what my car is and I have huge peace of mind in my purchase. I also have a 2011 MINI. I will be bringing both cars to German Auto Service for all maintenance and repairs. I live in Santa Cruz and my experience with Joel makes the drive worth it!

I am happy to be writing this review for German Auto service specifically for my experience with Joel. Overall it was a A+ experience I brought a vehicle for a pre purchase inspection. Joel was welcoming, professional and quite thorough with the inspection. He found some repairs that the vehicle needed. I was then able to make a educated decision to purchase the vehicle. I gave Joel the thumbs up to do the repairs which were done that same day. I was very pleased with his communication and his knowledge of BMW vehicles. Thank you Joel for a quick and pleasant experience. I will definitely be returning for any future maintenance or repairs.

I've had my car serviced by him for years. Before starting his own shop, he worked at a dealership as well a previous location in San Mateo. Every experience has been phenomenal.
