Horrible experience. Ordered ahead, pickup took forever -- one associate seemed to be slooowly collecting dozens of individual orders for a single customer; the department was seriously understaffed. It felt like the Post Office and totally defeated the purpose of ordering ahead. Then my wife tried to get help from one of the associates to locate an item in the store, Angela (?) brushed her off with No ingles!. When my wife approached another associate, was told she is bi-lingual; shouldnt all employees be? My wife happens to be Asian -- was she discriminated against? Badly run store, unprofessional/untrained employees -- management should be aware!

I travel around and shop at a few different home depots and I have to say Santa Cruz is one of the worst. They are always out of stock of many items their isles are kaos with stuff everywhere. I hope things get better.

I own a busy surfboard repair business in Santa Cruz and have shopped at Home Depot regularly for many years. I had an emergency situation come up with a chemical spill that needed attention right away. Emergency responders were not immediately available. I am a Hazmat First Responder also trained in CPR & First Aid so I took action. I needed to soak up some chemicals containing deadly toluene. I had used up my kitty litter & available towels. I needed paper towels. Living close to Home Depot, Soquel I went there to get their large packages of paper towels. The aisle was closed while a female worker was stocking the shelves with a forklift. I couldnt wait for her and saw the towels within easy reach so I grabbed them and began to walk away. Ive worked in manufacturing and warehouses and have driven forklifts, I took a calculated risk that was completely safe. The woman told me she was working and that I had to wait for her. I explained that I was a hazmat 1st responder and that I too was working at the moment. Several other women working there proceeded to rudely inform me that I was in the wrong. Ok then. Me personally had I been her, I wouldve stopped, let the customer get what they came to buy and go back to work. Since when do workers make customers wait for them to do their job on the customers time that is responding to an emergency? Is what the workers are doing more important than a long time loyal customer is doing? Please stock your shelves on your time and listen to a customer when they have a special need. The customer service has really fallen off and I am tired of waiting to check out and being treated as though I dont matter. I am the customer and I am not going to put up with workers that think they are more important than me and my shopping needs.

Like most Home Depots, finding help is difficult. But when you do find someone, they are always friendly, helpful, and cheerful

My brother purchased a refrigerator, stove, washer/dryer for his new place in Boulder Creek. The stainless steel refrigerator was delivered scratched, the stove was installed without the propane conversion kit which almost caused it to blow up w huge flames coming out of oven and burners, and the washer and dryer didn t work. And now he waits for replacement washer/dryer and he had to hire a plumber to properly install the stove at a significant added expense. Incompetent and so incredibly disappointing and wrong!!!.

We ordered supplies for a home renovation project to be delivered because we dont have a truck. We paid $80 for delivery and we were given a 14 hour window for drop off. We waited around the entire day and they never showed. No phone call or anything. Just an email. We are so frustrated! Supposedly its rescheduled for 3 days later, but we will see if it actually shows up.

I had seen a local using a flashlight on the beach this thing was bright and I asked him where he bought it and he said home Depot so I stopped by the home Depot and I was fortunate blessed and just honored to meet Mr Ernest.. this gentleman guided me to the place where he thought they might have them.. anyway Im glad they did not have it because this led us into a conversation that I am glad I had with him.. Mr Ernest is professional, kind, all about customer service because on the way to the aisle to find the light he did not hesitate to answer a couple peoples questions as he was walking...it is obvious he is very hard-working.... I connected with him on a higher level this man is gifted with the spirit that is very hard to find... His kindness and showing care and love is intoxicating.. Mr Ernest it was a pleasure meeting you.. I hope the best for you. God bless you my friend.. even though I did not buy a light but I left feeling optimistic, joyful, and I learned a couple of things from you. Thank you for being you Ernest. Found what I needed. Took a while to find help but was very knowledgeable when I did.

Terrible customer service. I bought a shade and man who helped was wonderful. However I needed to make it smaller as he thought that might happened because of supplier. No one there today. Waited for help and no one came. Walked back and forth to from desk and no one available. It is always short staffed and no one helps!

This store carries a pretty fair amount of inventory. Most of the staff does not want to be bothered, only a few if you can find one will help you, but even then you are getting rushed and the brush off. The prices are better than ACE overall, and the inventory does save time by not going all over to ACE and other stores that don t stock inventory, also saving time and money.

Why are the people in the paint department so condescending? Ive been in twice, and each time, they were the worst people ever. Once was to get an item, that was in stock at this store according to the web site, and they shrugged and said good luck. Ive had reasonable experiences with everyone else in the store. Even good ones.

Very friendly crew, mostly knowledgeable of their products and off their dont know where it is in the store, they look it up on their phone and tell you which aisle and which bay.

This Home Depot is awful in my experience. Its conveniently located for me, and I have tried to give it a fair chance, but I am CONSISTENTLY let down by rude or non-existent customer service, ridiculous lines for self-check out where most are closed an hour or more before the store closes, and how impossible it is to get help. On more than one occasion I have walked the store and counted how many employees will even just greet me, or even make eye contact, let alone ask me if I need help. Yesterday I passed 32 employees and NOT ONE even acknowledged me. Today I went to pick up an online store pickup order. Email says it was ready at customer service desk. After waiting almost 15 minutes (I was 2nd in line), and showing my order (2 items) - the customer service person walked away TWICE to go somewhere else in the store to get my items. All in all it was 30 minutes before I got my 2 items that I could have shopped for myself in less time. And I wish I could say that these experiences are one-offs and rarely happen. But this is consistent. I encourage people to drive the extra 25 minutes to Watsonville which is MUCH better, or better yet just shop local Santa Cruz hardware supply stores.

Big store on 41st. Avenue just off Hwy 1 in Santa Cruz. Lots of parking, carts, food and customer Service employees all through out the store to assist you on finding items quickly and help make your shopping experience great. You can order most items online and pick up in store or have them delivered to you. Highly recommend this store for just about any home improvement or repair projects or household items you may need.

I like the drive up to pick up orders from the app. Going in the store is sometimes not as great. Its hard to find help to find what I am looking for.

Its a warehouse full of hardware resources great for home improvement. OSH has more service, soul and heart, but unfortunately less selection.

This home Depot is usually stocked with everything I need. Electrical section is organized and the man who works that area is really helpful. The garden section is nice too lots of plants and flowers that are in great condition.

A useful but miserable home to disgusting Republicans

It takes forever to get help if you have a question and when you do get someone, the staff is generally unhelpful. Now that I only order items online for pickup or use their website to find the Aisle/Bay locations of items in the store, my experience getting items at the store has greatly improved. Overall, items are typically stocked well, but sometimes the online amount in stock doesnt reflect what they actually have in the store. Compared to other local stores, the wood is cheap but terrible quality. If youre going to get large pallets of lumber delivered, ensure you account for at least 20-30% of it to have major issues.

I love going to home Depot they always have the most beautiful colorful plants and flowers my only issue with home Depot is the employees need to have more knowledge of the products in their store so that they can be helpful to customers when they want to ask a question or need to find something

Good for most of your home improvement needs just dont rely on the employees to help out to much there not very knowledgeable about too much but if your looking for solar for your house I found a vendor there Sun Run they hooked me up. The girl Heathyr that helped me was so knowledgeable and set me up with an appointment that day it was amazing.

We have recently moved into a home and had a gas stove. We went to Home Depot and they assured us that there was a stove which we could purchase that would be an adequate upgrade and fit our 110V hook up. We did this as we have a newborn. The Home Depot employee strongly persuaded us to buy this oven, assuring us that it would meet the dimensions and hook up of our house. I confirmed with them. Upon delivery two men came into the house, and while I was upstairs, they bullied my wife into pushing the stove into the house while she tried to tell them that it was not the right stove, and she tried to refuse it. They did not speak English. She was intimidated by the two men, and they took our stove which was a functioning gas stove. Within 10 minutes I called them and spoke with customer service and they refused to return our stove. To me that seems like stealing. I ve been on the phone with Home Depot three hours that day and approximately another two hours a subsequent day. I spoke with the store manager and also corporate Home Depot. They have been rude and the best offer they give us is that if we buy another new stove with them, they could provide us with a $200 discount. Because an electrician and it will cost $3000 in order to install a 220 V connection. So we had a functioning stove that worked l, at Home Depot, they convinced us to buy a stove which they assured us would work and then installed it but left without it actually it working or plugged in and took our stove and refused to help us. We have a family and been unable to cook for them for the past week. I would highly advise never to use Home Depot again. Upon returning to home I have names of each of the individuals that have had horrific customer service with us which I will post. Sad that this Home Depot staff has no human decency.

I dont enjoy this home depot... I feel vibed here. Cant put my finger on it. I can say conversations dont flow easy here. I do enjoy home depots in general and there are lots of other dogs here and my pup enjoys that! so a 4. I also dont feel like i find things here - i have to look harder and i feel blocked. It also seems like the choices are not as abundant as past home depot experiences at other locations. Hmm.

Never answer their phone close early with no warning, don t ask them any questions and they ll tell you no lies.. I d rather give the Mom and Pop Ace hardwares my business.

I am asking you please do not put up huge statues of laughing sadistic clowns, etc. this year in your store this location or any. Please consider your customers with young children. This is the absolute worst store in Santa Cruz for customer service, you could be actively looking for something obviously in need of help and be ignored. Staff stand around talking to each other and ignore you and when you finally find someone willing to help they are rude, unlikely to know where things are and generally terrible in their approach. Today while looking for a small part for my vacuum I was told well, I m sure most people would see that huge sign that says appliances and check in that isle it probably is in there wouldn t you think? I was floored - I told the man that yes I had looked there and didn t find it and he said - well then how about you follow that arrow up those stairs - might be someone to help you there, right?! And walked off - what the hell???

I have had a long, frustrating and hard to imagine experience after a custom door from this location. It took more than three months after paying for the item to have it available. However, the store never contacted me to tell me it was available, I had to call multiple times and pay several visits before finding out the door had been sitting there for a month. It was explained to me they were working with a new system, and it had not notified the installer that said door was available. Finally I was contacted by the installer and arranged for a date to be installed. Nobody showed up on that day and calling me installer and the store, nobody told me what had happened. Apparently the installer determined the damaged door was not suitable for installation and therefore was not going to complete the job. The problem is nobody at Home Depot or the insulation company bothered to tell me despite the fact that I had taken the day off work, and my family was waiting For this completed before we left on our Thanksgiving trip. Need to say it was another wasted day This one a little bit more impactful In a very long and dreadful episode delete is abysmal, the communication is nonexistent, and the attention to detail is a joke .

Typical home depot. The store is always under staffed and frequently purchased items are often up on the shelves and not replaced where they can be reached. They dont provide some products that are common for each trade like you might find elsewhere and they continually switch product lines. That makes matching a previously purchased item difficult sometimes. Their prices can range from great to why the hell is this more expensive than a small hardware store. They do have some good deals from time to time. However, watch out for items they display in heavily. They may appear to be on sale, when in fact, they are the same price when found in their typical location. As with anywhere you have some quality, helpful people who know how to get things done. You also have those where you question their level of competence as they have no clue and work at a snails pace. While returning items is fairly easy the line can often be long and slow moving. Theft has also slowed the purchase of higher priced products. I also find it lame when you finally find help only to have them say they dont work that department. They arent helping anyone else and are unable to take 10sec to go up the ladder and grab your item. They act as if the world would stop if the guy from plumbing has to grab something electrical. Im not talking about dragging them away from their department, this is while they are already walking down the same isle your part is on. Thats more of a reflection of store policy and not necessarily the reluctance of an employee. Having said that, Im sure if they were quick about it no one would in management would take issue. Its also frustrating when you know a product is not on a lower shelf but they insist on wasting more of your time looking for it when they could just grab it from a higher shelf and get you on your way. With prices constantly going up home depot seems to be a necessary evil in order to cut costs on some items.

Don t do curbside! Slow!!!! I ordered online for curbside pick up and they never brought it out. Waited and waited and nothing. Walked inside and was made to wait again by customer service employee James. Waited another 20mins in line. Terrible service!!!

As a former commercial construction lead, this place is my favorite amusement park. My only complaint is that they rarely have enough people working at the cash register. Im old school, and I refuse to use the self check out. This usually means a longer wait to complete purchases. Irritating, but relatively minor. Recommended.

Had what I needed with several options when I needed it, and a fantastic return policy providing purchasing confidence and even a credit policy for large purchases. Very happy Camper. UPDATE: Ordered online so I could get a water heater fast for a crew I had coming. HD pulled the wrong heater (tall, small) and tried to pass it off on me as the same as what I ordered (short, large). I had to sit there for an hour while they incompetently tried to pull the correct one I could see and touch on the shelf. I could have pulled my entire order myself and been out of there in 15 mins but it took them an hour to get me something I ordered in advance and they said was ready. DO NOT ORDER ONLINE.

Poor experience 2x here. First is the purchase of pedastals that they communicated came with installation. They did not. Next was an attempt to purchase contractor installed security doors. Contractor called days later communicating they did not install on manufactured homes. Still awaiting HD manager call back.

Dont bother calling to check product availability. They dont answer the phone, I sat with it ringing for 20 minutes today and no one answered. Cant make sure its the right fit for custom builds due to multiple options. Cant find out if they even carry them because no one answers the phone. Not going to waste the gast and time to get down there from up in the mountains just to find they dont have any of the parts Im looking at. Do better.

Couldnt get help if I were choking to death. An employee referred me to 2 employees upstairs. I went up and I couldnt get them to acknowledge that I was standing right in front of them. Chit chat and computer screens kept them from answering a simple question I had.

Tried to order a refrigerator from these idiots.. ordered it Monday, said they couldnt deliver until Friday. Then tried to delay delivery until Monday (I havent had a refrigerator entire wekk). Then took three calls to final get my refund for the refrigerator they didnt deliver. Says it takes 3 days to process the refund (interesting, they took my money instantly, what takes 3 days to return it?) Just had to order one from Lowes in San Jose. Lowes claim they can deliver a refrigerator tomorrow. Previously tried to have them install vinyl floors for me.. said they couldnt do round corners or stairs??? Ended up just delaying me two weeks on the project and went to San Lorenzo Floors in Scotts Valley. Less stock than most stores. Employees there was worthless. Ill be back to steal stuff, but screw this store.
