Came by Teknik Motorworks after my ‘95 Jeep Wrangler performed poorly during a “pre” smog check. I had the jeep out in Hawaii for 3 years, it had some aftermarket parts, and come to find out it didn’t have a catalytic converter installed. It ended up being more then I would have liked to pay to get it up to California standards, but Josh did outstanding. He was spot on with initial quote, very communicative, and did some excellent work. Labor cost were comparative for the area and josh got me a deal on the necessary parts. I walked away with a tune up, new spark plugs/distributor cap, air filter & assembly, catalytic converter and a complementary smog check. Thanks Josh! 10/10 would recommend

I highly recommend Josh and his business. He is extremely knowledgeable and professional. He is transparent on all the work that he does and called me when there were additional problems with my car rather than fixing them and telling me about them later. Furthermore, he didn’t just tell me about the issue, he showed pictures and videos of what was happening so I understood what was wrong. He was able to get my car in on short notice and he did excellent work. Great value for great service.

Awesome and amazing place, brought my car in needing a completely new brake system and Josh was able to do it for half the cost of every other place. Great guy, knows his stuff, and is actually honest with you. I'll be going here for any auto service that I need.

I have brought my VW in here multiple times and have never been disappointed. He never tries to sell you something you don't need. My car had issues due to previous mechanics using parts that should have not been used and he fixed all of them. I was informed all the way with what was going on and the issues he was finding. Nothing was done without my approval. I feel completely safe in my car now and would highly recommend coming here.

BEWARE!! I purchased a Groupon for a synthetic oil change from this shop October 29, 2014. The owner was very pleasant and my car was the only one in the shop that day, although he had tried to reschedule the day before because his schedule was too busy. I waited inside the shop for about 45 minutes chatting with his mother while he worked on my car. When he was finished he pulled my car out of the garage and then informed me that he had changed the oil but not the oil filter because he just didn't have the part. I drive a Saturn and apparently there is a specific part that you need to change the filter, luckily I have this part. I supplied him with the part and he agreed to change my filter. So if he did put new oil in, he then ran it through a dirty filter. I was not aware of how bad this is at the time. He went on to quote me $300 to change my front brake pads. Since that date I have driven my car across country and just went in for my next oil change. The mechanic at this other shop assured me that my oil looked so bad and was so low that it was highly doubtful that the oil was actually changed at the last service (less than 2 months ago). It makes me sad to see that there are still mechanics out there looking to take advantage of women because of their lack of knowledge of cars. The owner of Teknik was aware that I am a traveling medical professional and I put a large number of miles on my car a year, but he did not care about my safety, wellbeing, or have enough respect for me as a human being to perform a service that I paid for. I am grateful to not have engine damage after the carelessness of this shop. I would highly advise you to find a different service center, it's just not worth the risk.
