Warmboard is a leading manufacturer of radiant floor heating panels and systems in North America. Our products provide superior performance and energy efficiency, ensuring constant and consistent comfort in every inch of your home. We are the preferred choice of architects, builders, and homeowners alike when building a new home or renovating an existing one.
Absolutely the best decision I made was to put in Warmboard radiant heating! It makes my house completely comfortable and cozy. The customer service was superior. Thank you Kim.
Great product. Once you give them a set of your print's they'll set you up with a complete system with a set of prints for simple install. I'm a contractor and if the job warrants I always suggest using this system. You may want to have a plumber hook up your heat source and manifolds if you don't feel comfortable with doing that but it's definitely a good system. If I was building a new house for myself I would definitely install warm board.
I installed the Warmboard radiant floor heating system during new construction. The custom designed system precut and and color coded deck panels were a breeze to install and proved incredibly sturdy throughout the common mishaps of construction. The heating system itself is very efficient and quiet, delivering all the promised benefits. I am new the radiant floor heat concept as it is rarely offered or installed in my area , and have not been disappointed for one moment. It's The best choice for my open concept home in the northern US latitudes. I do not give it five stars because the WiFi operated thermostats do their job, but they do not sync or display stats or allow System changes on my phone app. All I can do is go from vacation mode to non-vacation mode on my phone. The temperature sensors are also slow to respond, usually showing one or 2° cooler than the room actually is for a time. They are a bit under par as far as thermostat technology goes. I understand at the time of this review they are rolling out an upgrade to the thermostat system, which leaves me feeling left behind, unfortunately.
We just completed a 3-year tear down and rebuild project on our 1977 mountain home in Zephyr Cove, Nevada. I was the GC on the project (Under Nevada rules the Owner can act as the GC without being licensed) Located at 7,000 Ft the house only needed heating (No AC) so we replaced the original forced air heating system with in-floor radiant heat. Our architect had not considered the heating system change in the design and the floors were not designed to accept the weight of Gypcrete so I chose to install Warmboard instead of modifying the structure to bear the extra load. The total area of heated flooring is 3,200 sqft. 1/3 of the Warmboard was installed over existing floors (Using the "Remodel" panels) and 2/3 as new load bearing floors (using the structural Warmboard panels). The Warmboard panels took a beating on the top floor where they were exposed to weather for 2 months while we were framing the walls and roof. There was no water damage despite many rain days. The panels are very strong and easily as stiff as structural plywood. We glued the panels with PL 400 and screwed them to the joists with Deckmate stainless screws. We did the same with the "R" panels over the old floors. In the basement we sealed the floor with Redguard and glued and screwed the R-board to the concrete with Tapcons. The Uponor tubing was easy to install as it just snaps in to the grooves. We walked on the bare Warmboard with the heating lines installed and system operating for nearly a year while we completed electrical, insulation, drywall, and painting. There was no damage to the Warmboard or to the tubing. Cleaning up the Warmboard at the end was quite easy. The entire house has tile and hardwood floors. Warmboard guarantees that you can use solid hardwood on their system while Gypcrete floors require you to use engineered wood. We went with hardwood and it looks and feels great. We nailed the hardwood to the Warmboard which can be done because you can see the heating lines while you install the flooring (Contrary to Gypcrete) Under the tile floors we used a Ditra membrane over the Warmboard. Overall a great product and a good installation experience.
In 2022 I researched in floor heating before I built my retirement home. Warmboard was the only company offering a proven complete system. Their staff was exceptional to work with. Their installation and operation documents and videos were excellent as I installed the entire system myself. Today 1/25/25 I am in my second winter operating the Warmboard system. It works perfectly and that is the truth. I live in Northern Idaho where it gets cold. The cost of the system compared to piecing a system together with various parts is comparable and well worth it because of the support and company history.
I just completed the installation of the Warmboard system in my cabin basement with the rest of the install ongoing. I am only operating in construction mode while I dry the cabin out here in Michigan this winter. I found the install to be very straight forward and when I had questions my project manager Sierra Morin came to my aid immediately. Based on my current experience with Warmboard, I would buy it a million times over! What a great product and my heavens, what good people stand behind the product!
Very high quality, we used the S structural version. 3 years in and it’s keeping the floors evenly heated. Ours is under hardwood and it works great. Instal was fairly straightforward if you are pretty handy.
I not only specify Warmboard for my projects on my custom single family residential design practice, but also installed Warmboard on our own home. After 15 years of yearly use of our radiant heating system, I can say there is no better system in the market.
Seemingly good product but proceed with caution. Some staff and the design software are not so great. -Kim Gentry can be unnecessarily abrasive and condescending -Their software missed our BTU requirements by a very large margin surprisingly bad -They said I d need to add warmboard to my second story to meet their over 75,000 BTU requirement. I didnt agree with their BTU requirement and chose to not add it to the second story. In turn, they refused to sell me any heating equipment. I consulted with another company and chose a 30,000 BTU unit, and now have heat to spare.
Excellent product. Works as well and bette than expected. Local rep (Mike) was extremely helpful. Cost was very reasonable, but the local plumbers and cost of installation was as my father-in-law used to say they sure know what to charge.
Warmboard provided a very thorough package of technical drawings and installation instructions. Follow up was quick and responsive from initial order through owner occupancy.
Imagine waking up this time of the year and getting out of bed without socks or slippers and my floor is warm ! Incredible Best decision I highly recommend pj cape cod ma
Warmboard and Brett were amazing. Proper follow up, responsive and helpful. This was our first winter with it and we love the feeling. Thank you!
We have been quite pleased with our experience working with Zak and Warmboard. Through the initial contact, design, and delivery, everything went smoothly and, equally importantly, with exceptional support and communication. The kit provided all tools needed to install and required no extra materials. Can only speak to the assembly process to date and not the actual operation of the unit as our plumber has yet to arrive to complete the final hook up but given the quality of the materials provided, I have no doubt everything will work as designed. Great company to work with!
Very professional and a great efficient system
Easy to install, great customer service, easy access when we need help. Price: Not on the low side
I love my warmboard systems in both my house and cottage. Canada is darn cold outside in the winter but I am always warm inside.
We recently built a new home in Harrison Maine and chose Warmboard to supply our heating system. This entire project had been a really rough project with contractor and supply issues. Warmboard was the one bright spot. They were professional did everything they said they would. Product arrived on time and went together flawlessly. This home has 3000 sq ft of floor space all heated by Warmboard. It has been below zero everyday for past couple weeks and the heat is great. Constant temperature in house and quiet as can be. These guys are greeat.
Ive been using Warmboard for more than 20 years. They have a fantastic product that is very easy to work with for both new construction and remodeling. The staff is very helpful and easy to work with and it provides a comfortable and efficient heating system, even under carpet.
I am not only a Warmboard employee but I am a customer as well. I have the benefit of talking radiant all day, everyday. With the recent addition of Warmboard in my own home I can honestly say, there is nothing more comfortable available. It was simple for my contractor to install during our remodel. Amazing controls respond to whats happening throughout every square inch of my home. I have invested my life in this company and now I put my money where my mouth is... and I remain wholly impressed!
Heat is uniform throughout the house, Warmboard met our expectations and delivered what they said they would.
I built my house myself. The heating system was very easy to install. The prints were very easy to follow and a complete plug and play system.
nice even heat. It needs improvement on it app. Now the app can just turn on/off the whole system.
The folks at Warmboard were very responsive to us answering all of our questions and concerns as we worked through the design and installation of the system as an owner builder. We live in the mountains of Idaho where it can get into the negative teens at night. We use a wood stove to heat our place throughout the day however the fire will burn out in the early morning so the radiant heat bridges the time that we are sleeping (the coldest part of the night). This is definitely the correct heating solution for us.
Every step of the process has been as easy as I could hope for. We ordered the materials early just to have it on hand and they had no problem delivering to where we wanted. The layout was perfect, the templates worked great, and when someone who will remain nameless accidentally ruined one of the templates they replaced it. Its amazing when a company understands customer service.
Ive used both the R and S panels and both products are well designed, well-constructed, and easy to use. The staff at Warmboard were also very helpful to this first-time, DIY installer. Would definitely use the product again.
We put about 2900 sf of Warmboard in our new house, paired with wood flooring that is engineered for thermal-transfer, and the whole radiant heating system is hooked up to a geothermal system and the comfort and costs to heat the house are impressive. Warmboard is not inexpensive... but it is probably the best product on the market.
Warm board has the best product and exceptional people to work with!!
Although the installer messed up our install, Warmboard offered great support throughout the process. The heating system is easy to use and keeps our house at great temps even in the chilliest of times. Nice to feel the floor radiating warmth when programming morning warmups.
I have enjoyed my Warmboard radiant floor heat for over a year. The multiple thermostats and quality heat from below is the best!
I am a home owner that designed my own bath and kitchen. I did not had CAD or architectural plans, but they were still able to develop radiant solutions for my bathrooms and kitchen. They were great to deal with and simple installation.
I installed Warmboard in an addition and found it is the perfect solution for radiant floors in a wood-framed house. You need plywood floor sheathing anyway, why not get it all done in one step? No mess or logistical hassle with concrete or gypsum overpour, shorter timelines, less trades. Floors have been operating for 2 years now and the comfort is sublime. My only regret is not also installing Warmboard in the original parts of the house.
I installed Warmboard in my northern Adirondack home. It s a fantastic product! The warmth you get from a radiant floor heating system is unsurpassed!
We love Warmboard. We just spent a few days at our cottage during a cold New England winter in comfort bliss. We were able to switch the system on remotely to allow the cottage to warm up from its vacation mode of 55 degrees before we arrived. The Warmboard system is expensive, but you have to pay for quality and for us Warmboard has delivered.
Have had the system close to 3 years now and it works great in our Northern Winters. So nice to have warm floors on a otherwise cold morning. Works well with our engineered flooring as well. Would highly recommend this product.
As an end user, I love my warmboard system. However, I had issues with one of my zones and am unable to use the original installer to help. I called Warmboard Technical Support, and Sal Benigno quickly helped me find local expertise to troubleshoot the issue.
Great Radiant Heating option! Easy installation as well as tech support for the planning of the system . We have specified this on many of our projects over the years.
We have used Warmboard in several projects, ranging from new builds to renovations, and in every case, it has performed exceptionally well. Operating in central Saskatchewan, we experience temperatures as low as -40°C (-40°F) for extended periods. In every installation, Warmboard has been able to heat the space efficiently without requiring auxiliary heat to keep up. One of our most notable applications was in our own home, where a significant portion of our living space was lined with windows areas typically prone to high heat loss. Even with laminate flooring, Warmboard maintained consistent warmth. When outdoor temperatures dropped to -40°F, we ran the fluid temperature at approximately 43°C (110°F), and the space remained comfortably warm at 23°C (74°F). My wife likes it warm, so we kept the temperature on the higher side, and Warmboard never missed a beat. Over the years, we ve installed various radiant heating systems, including Warmboard, staple-up, overpour, and slab. In my experience, Warmboard is the superior choice compared to staple-up, overpour, and competitor products with built-in channels. There s simply no other product on the market that compares to Warmboard in both my personal and professional opinion.
As a geo-exchange designer working with hydronic geothermal systems Warmboard is my go-to choice for providing effective hydronic heating on wood frame flooring. Ive found nothing better for heat transmission through engineered flooring and tile surfaces that can work at low temperatures in the 90 to 120 degree range for optimizing the efficiency of geothermal heat pump systems.
Love the way WarmBoard heats our home. It feels natural and the floor is never cold, always comfortable. We have several zones and it works well as some in the family like it cooler or warmer than the rest. The best decision when choosing the infrastructure of our new home!
We have specified Warmboard on numerous projects. The Contractors preferred this method rather than pouring lightweight gypcrete, we provided the drawings and Warmboard created plans of the layout. One of the standout features of Warmboard is how simple it is to work with. Unlike traditional radiant heating systems that require extra layers and complicated installation, Warmboard panels integrate the heating system directly into the subfloor. This not only speeds up the installation process but also ensures superior heat transfer, making the system incredibly energy-efficient. If youre looking for a radiant heating system that is easy to install, highly efficient, and delivers exceptional comfort, I highly recommend Warmboard.
Warmboard is a vast improvement over standard radiant floors. There is a price premium but well worth it with a big return in comfort.
We have used Warmboard in many private residences including our own new house. I would highly recommend Warmboard based on comfort, energy efficiency and sustainablity. Michael McKinley and Associates LLC is an architectural firm licensed in CT,RI, NY, Fl, MA and NJ and we specialize in residences.
Ive been a plumber for the past 30 years. Ive been dealing with plumbing heating air conditioning and more specifically the higher and Homes that have all of it tied together. Warmboard has been my favorite product to use if you cant put the tubing in concrete(In other words, any kind of framing involved) You can see the difference without any problem when you compare it with a thermal camera. The other awesome part about Warmboard is, theres no cold spots. A great example is if you know anything about framing wherever floor systems get tied together, theres usually headers..... Lotta the times at entryways or staircases you end up with cold spots due to the way that you have to frame. Warmboard covers all of that so there is none of this. The other nice thing is the size of the holes that you drill through the floor system to run. The tubing are much smaller because all of your looping is done above the floor..... And finally, the fact that you could run your water temperatures at lower temperatures Really adds to the efficiency, especially when youre talking about the efficiency you will get out of condensing boiler. Final point is rate of cheat...... Again, you take out that thermal camera and its amazing as well as your bare feet to feel the floor warming up and record speed because of so much less it has to work to get the heat to the body.... Anyway, you would think I was a salesman for Warmboard but honestly, Im not. Ive just been using their product for close to 20 years now.. Great product guys good luck in the future!!Geo
This is a great product with excellent support. Ive used them on now 4 separate projects and each time they have figured out what I need to make them successful.
I have specified Warmboard on projects over the years. They have done excellent work when clients have followed through. There are many ways to do hydronic heating, and Warmboard is the most convenient, imo.
Find another company! READ THE OTHER BAD REVIEWS! They dont back thier engineering and IF there is a problem they will not take ANY responsibility. If things go well the product is a good product but faulty engineering by them (which I had to pay for) led to my boiler ending up under water. I warned them about thus risk buy they told me they had tons of experience and they have it under control. The owner intentionally avoided speaking with me and sent an employee to tell me they wont take any responsibility. I tried to come up with multiple solutions to solve the problem and they wouldnt discuss any of them.
Best radiant floor heating system in the market!
I am living in the 2nd house in which Ive had Warmboard installed. The product installs relatively easily (says both contractors), and works really well. A bit of a learning curve required as it is connected via Bluetooth, but overall I am very satisfied with the product.
The warmsource boilers are excellent
Excellent advice and service. Excellent end result.
I ve installed over 20 Warmboard projects and when done correctly it is an excellent way to do radiant heat in your new or remodeled homes. Costumer service is great and I recommend them highly.
We love installing infloor heating on warm board clean, even heating throughout the room!!
My favourite heating system; invisible, quick response, even and long lasting heat. Weve used these for over a decade in numerous homes weve design and always had positive feedback. Well be using them in our own new build next year.
Warmboard performs like a sports car compared to gypcrete that performs like a tank.
As a builder of very high end luxury homes, we have used the Warmboard products for many years. There is absolutely no better way to install and provide radiant heat for a home. In a business where working with suppliers can be a difficult and frustrating experience, Warmboard will stand out as the most professional and reliable supplier you will ever work with. When I built my own home in the mountains of Colorado I used their Warmsource system with all parts and pieces supplied by Warmboard. It performs flawlessly, and it was very easy to direct subcontractors that were unfamiliar with Warmboard through the installation of the entire system. Do not make the mistake of trying to install radiant heat with a less expensive system. Use a flawless system from the start. Use Warmboard. You will standout above your competitors and your clients will appreciate a perfectly working radiant heating system. Dale T. Stokkers Stokkers & Company Inc.
tl;dr - the product itself is great! However, finding good installers and super high costs are the main downsides. The Warmboard technology is likely one of the, if not most, efficient and well designed products out there for radiant heating. Pricing is very expensive, but this is likely due to the fact that Warmboard is largely regarded as one of the top vendors in radiant heating, and so they can get away with setting whatever price point they want to. One of the few (but significant) downsides that I see is a lack of contractors that have experience and do a good job with the install. Although Warmboard claims how easy it is, most contractors prefer to operate in auto-pilot as much as they can and dont want to be bothered learning a new product, no matter how straight forward it may be. This is what Ive found the most difficulty with - having a framer and plumber familiar with installing Warmboard AND ones that do a good job. Warmboard may recommend a plumber near you if youre lucky, but given the scarcity of competition, its hard to find competitive pricing and theres no guarantee they will do a good job.
Kim in sales is the best! Very responsive and helpful!
I have used Warmboard on two projects. It is the best solution when you want the absolute best.
We had a great experience with our new construction project and remodel project. Love it
Ive done two projects with warmboard. Had incredible results. Technical support was very very helpful. Very responsive. Looking forward to my next project with Zack from warmboard. I highly recommend this company
Excellent service from all the reps there and a seamless planning process and delivery. This is the best radiant heating product in the market, you get what you pay for!
I am a project manager at Warehouse Direct Flooring and am always happy when my flooring clients are having Warmboards installed. In fact, Warmboards have helped educate hardwood flooring manufacturers about the benefits of having floors heated at a consistent temperature. Plus, we always like to see a local company doing so well!
I am a mechanical contractor and have to say that Warmboard works really well, it offers quick response time, low water temperature requirements and a very clean and non invasive installation method compared to a Gyp Crete / thin slab pour. Larry and Dave are responsive and great to work with.
We design projects in mountain resorts around the West and our firm has specd Warmboard for many years on several projects. The quality of their service and the delivered product is really impressive. A missing item can lead to long, costly delays in our remote locations, but Warmboard has never let us or the contractors down.
Great product and even better support.
Great product. Everything that was needed for an easy installation was included. Great to be able to work from engineered prints
This has proven to be a very effective and trouble free system to use under wood and tile floors. Warmboard transmits comfortable even heat when using a low supply temperature system. This allows for great efficiency and therefore low operating costs. It is also much more responsive than an in-slab system which allows for more freedom to adjust the t-stats. I have installed it as a plumbing contractor over many (20+) years in new construction as well as retrofits, remodels, renovations, and opted to use it in my own home.
As an architect I have used al sorts of underfloor hydronic heating over the years, nothing comes close to warm board for efficiency, response time, and overall comfort. I have it in my own house.
Great communication throughout the process, including installation and beyond. Few, if any, issues, but Warmboard was very responsive in addressing them. System working great for over a year now.
This is an incredible product. Wish it had been around when I was building a commercial building back in the 90s If only I could change out all my floors to heated..
Waste of money
Was skeptical at first as we decided to not use central heating and just go with radiant. It has changed our lifestyle completely. No blowers trying to keep up heating the cold . Just peace and quiet and stable temperature throughout the home. The boiler in the garage can be noisy at times, but inside, quiet, calm, and comfortable. Would never, ever, go back to central heating. We live up in the mountains and the home is over five thousand sq feet so we get quite the variety of climates. To go to bed at night without any sounds of forced air trying to keep the place warm is a feeling you have to experience to understand the benefits. Glad we made the choice. Warmboards? Professional quality throughout.
I replaced an old, archaic slab hydronic system with Warmboard - sent them a detailed floorplan and zones, got back everything I needed to do the installation myself. Great support - very happy with the experience.
We put warmboard in in our lake home on Lake Superior and it works great
Completely satisfied with the Warmboard installation we used in our log cabin in the Colorado mountains. Wanting to convert the home into a year-round getaway, the Warmboard design allowed us to keep the original solid log exterior construction while fully remodeling the interior. The low-cost gas fed heating system works just as advertised - currently 1 degree outside and a balmy 68 inside!
We ve put Warmboard into two buildings, the first back when the product was new (our home went up in 1998) and the second in the past year. We feel it s excellent. Installation is easy (though the panels are heavy) and they make putting in the hydronic tubing fast & perfect. 27 years has shown it to be a stable, excellent subfloor, even after a couple of water leaks that went through to the ceiling below. Zero complaints or concerns - fantastic product.
Installed complete system in new hose I built in upstate New York Absolutely love it!! Each room zoned is awesome. Customer service couldn t be better!!
We started our Warmboard experience in May, and this winter is the first time we have experienced it while heating, I will admit we had secretly hoped to feel the warm floors on our bare feet, and thats rare, mostly because of the way we layered the flooring and the subfloor. However, the temps in the house are even and consistent. We have found our comfort range in each zone and the system nails it consistently. We did foam/bat insulation for our envelope and the efficiency is unbelievable. This system with a hybrid shell of high level insulation, and an ERV (Energy Recovery Ventilator)for air circulation is hard to beat. Explore the options in your area, and if you have to spend a little extra, I promise you the power savings will prove worthwhile. Good luck with your Warmboard experience. Bud Munson Bend, OR
Installed the full Warmboard comfort system in a new build home. Generally the plans were good, but I did end up spending a lot of time reconfiguring the routing and making slight design changes based on wall proximity to tubing as well as tube runs that didnt make sense. The boiler and system are working well thus far, I am happy with how it warms the house and maintains. My biggest frustration is this is a second home and their App interface and functionality provide no ability to monitor the home when absent (no temp readings) and no functionality to change the home temperature remotely other than the Vacation Mode option. I have expressed my frustration with this to my rep, but it doesnt seem like they are motivated to change their system. The system seems so advanced, but then it lacks some very basic remote functionality. I hope they get the message and make some changes.
Excellent Subfloor Radiant Heating Company
The company doesn t stand behind their install instructions or recommended tubing if something goes wrong. Find another company to work with as this one you cannot trust to stand behind their product or guidance. Thousands of dollars of problems they won t stand behind.
13 years and still impressed! Worth every penny, most efficient radiant heating system that I have found, and no ugly baseboards in our modern house. Love this product and customer service was above and beyond!
I share in the last posts comments. Recieved a Lochinvar Boiler for a new install of warmboard. (2nd time using them, first time went well...so far x3yrs). I do like the Boiler they sent for first project better and overall product is well built and thought out, However...2nd install, not so well... Started the Boiler install in Sept. of 23, it wouldnt fire up correctly and threw an error code. Tried working with their engineer to solve the issue. Had us change intake and exhaust locations, twice... they sent us a bunch of parts to try, didnt work, same issue. Now its Nov. of 23, Finally they send out another Boiler. I pay thousands for the install and same issue. Long story short I, me alone find a Lochinvar Rep. in Woburn and after weeks (were in Dec now) find the problem was an incorrect gas valve all along...problem solved...but Im out thousands and they wont pay up. Sent several emails and bills...crickets! Very dissapointed in there professionalism in handling the Boiler problem...why did they not send a Rep or have one call us? Why did WE have to find them, its the Boiler YOU sold us!!
