Hidden Valley Automotive in Scotts Valley

Dan is an excellent mechanic and most of all is trustworthy. He helped me diagnose my failing truck engine and put time into finding a cost effective replacement. Even while taking up space on his lot he never pressured me into any decisions. He has a great team that I would return to anytime.

I've recently gone to this shop three times over last few months with various auto issues for my BMW and Volvo. They've done repairs and diagnostics and been very efficient in getting things right. Dan is the new owner and is easy to talk with and has a sense of humor which seems to be lacking in other auto shop owners these days.

Went to change my air filter and found quite a few issues I had to fix after they serviced my vehicle. I would NOT recommend this shop. They did not clip back in a cable that supplies power to the coil ignition and was resting on the engine block and almost burnt through it. They also did not properly seat the hose that goes from the air filter box to the intake manifold and tore a big hole in the side which I had to repair. I'm surprised it didn't throw a fuel evap leakage code. The younger guy working there seems jaded and disrespectful and the older guy just needs to retire. Although they fixed the issues with my car I was really hoping they would've done a better job as I had spent over 2000 in repairs...

I have been going to Hidden Valley for 30 years and I have always been thoroughly happy with their service. They have fixed every problem with all of the vehicles in the family. They are so easy to work with and are really nice people. They have won my loyalty.

My 2014 Mini runs like new! Hidden Valley seems to be one of a few auto shops near Santa Cruz who understand Minis. Old school shop, excellent service and a lot easier than going to the Mini dealer.
