Wheel Works in Santa Cruz

The guys at Wheel Works are friendly and professional. My last two visits for tires and alignment were problem free and I received a great deal on future alignments for my V10 M6 six speed manual BMW.

Techs 1/5 Managers 4/5 Wheel Works as an aggressive upsell company 2/5 Overall experience 3/5 I have a older but maintained vehicle with mileage between 75k and 120k during the time I've been to this shop. I've been here many times but my most recent experience I observed the technicians lack of professionalism and it will be my last visit. Most visits they try to upsell services that are not needed and claim you need them by doing a lot of 'free courtesy checks' most of which are mandated by the state of California for safety and efficiency. They have told me in the past that my battery was bad (same battery is still in use 3 years later) and that my suspension was shot (my brand specific mechanic said it was fine), both times they tried to upsell me on these services. Recently I was in to get a flat fixed. They told me my tires were done, which was true. James and Patrick, the managers, helped me get 4 new tires which went great. Unfortunately, the technicians were not careful with my car. It was scraped when taking it off the rack and the technician stalled the manual car when trying to park it. This was the only time I've actually watched them with my car and I wasn't impressed with the care.

Had an amazing experience at Wheel Work in Santa Cruz! We needed a tire patched on our van, and even though we didn’t have an appointment, the staff greeted us right away, fixed our tire quickly, and even did it for free. We’ll definitely keep using Wheel Work for any of our tire needs!

Came here at the end of the day on a Friday after finding a nail in my tire to see if they could fix it. They took care of it and I was in and out in less than 30 minutes. James and his team were great! The customer service and whole experience couldn’t have been better. Thanks James! This was my second time at this location (first was for new tires after trying two other shops) and I’ll definitely be back.

I've had Wheel Works do work on two different cars and have come away each time very happy with the service and staff. No frustration from them when I need to call several times in 10 minutes, no issue taking a look at any of my concerns and I have always felt that they wanted to make sure everything is done correctly and safely.

Patrick and his team were great. They were fast and efficient, and their pricing was great too. They really helped me out after I destroyed a tire, and I can’t thank them enough. High integrity people.

They made the whole process so easy, were very professional, courteous and clearly wanted me to be happy with my experience. The price was fair, which I appreciated! I will be using them now for any wheel issues I have, and their location is great because I can just walk to a number of great lunch places! ( already made appt for our other car.)

Six Stars Out of Five – Because Five Just Isn’t Enough Let me start by saying, this place deserves a standing ovation. Not only did they help me out immediately, but they also took on a challenge that, by all logic, they probably had no business saying yes to. But did that stop them? Absolutely not. They tackled it head-on like absolute pros. Picture this: I walk in, expecting the usual "Sorry, we don't do that" response, followed by the awkward shuffle toward the exit. But nope—before I could even finish explaining what I needed, they were already brainstorming solutions like a team of mad scientists. There were probably sparks flying, dramatic music playing in the background (at least in my head), and maybe even a lightbulb moment where someone yelled, "I HAVE AN IDEA!" And let’s talk about customer service—because wow. These folks weren’t just helpful; they were enthusiastic about helping me, like they had been waiting their whole lives for this exact moment. I half expected them to roll up their sleeves and say, "This is what we trained for." They could’ve easily told me to take my unusual request elsewhere, but instead, they took it on like absolute legends. They went above and beyond, and I left feeling like someone actually cared about my needs. 6 stars out of 5. If I could give them a trophy, a parade, and a lifetime supply of high-fives, I would.
