I was in the Santa Cruz area over the weekend and my brakes started making noise. I reached out to see if I could get an appointment. I spoke to a woman and she booked my appointment. Before the conversation ended, I asked how long would the appointment take, the woman said brakes is an 2 hr appointment. So Monday morning I arrived for my appointment. I was greeted by Juan. Juan completed my intake and prior to finishing I asked if I could pick up my car by 12noon. At that point another worker at the front desk jumped on the conversation. He was extremely rude and told me just because I have an appointment doesn’t mean they would start my car at time. I was confused bc I thought that was the whole purpose of the appointment. He continues to go back and forth with me justifying this. Then in the same breath told the customer behind me ( that just walked up, might I add) that they will start his car now. So the white man walks in and receives immediate service, and a black woman with an appointment has to wait. Sitting there this whole time Juan says nothing. Since I was in Santa Cruz, far from home, I proceeded to let them diagnose the car. Juan calls me 30 mins or so later and tells me that not only do I need brakes but I need rooters too. I’m skeptical of believing their diagnosis because of how I was treated. I let Juan know how I felt and validated all my feelings. He told me he was the lowest man on the totem poll and couldn’t really do anything, but understood how I felt. Juan is a person of color so when he said he understood I believe that. He said he would take care of me. I told him if it wasn’t for him, they wouldn’t have my business. Juan also tells me my car would be done in 2 hours. At that time it was around 10am and was quoted to have my car by 1130. Which is less time then the other worker said. Juan keeps his word and has my car ready at that time. Upon arrival I thank Juan for his help and he gives me his card. At that time I find out he is the manager. The manager witnessed his worker being rude and racist and said nothing. Then played on my heart strings like he understood how I felt, but really allowed this worker to act in that fashion and do nothing. If your a person of color, please be aware before doing business with LLOYDS because you are not a priority.
Left my tire to get patched for $35 and the wait went from 'about 1 hour' to over 3 hours before a call back, then picking up, the spare wasn't put back under the car it was put in the trunk. I seriously doubt the 'courtesy inspection' or tire pressure check actually happened.
Not bad service - went for a nail in the tire fix. Had a wait about an hour for the fix to be completed.
Lloyd's Tire goes above and beyond!! I recently had my car in for a suspension issue that led to me trying to use my extended warranty for the repairs. Nick and Sydney worked with the warranty company for days until it was all figured out. Then the mechanics did an amazing job and got my car back to me quickly. I can't say enough about how grateful I am to Nick for being willing to work with me and my warranty. I'll definitely be going back to Lloyd's for other work (not just tires!), in the future.
Fine place, usual tire shop with friendly and fast service. I went in to have one tire replaced on a car that had been sitting for a while, resulting in all the tires having low pressure. They put the new tire on, inflated it to the max recommended psi, but left all the other tires as they were. Got home and found the new tire was at 44 psi while the other 3 were still at 29-31. Not a big deal if you have an air compressor at home but lame snd sloppy nonetheless. Never been to a tire shop that hasn’t filled all 4 tires to an appropriate level when finished.
I came in to get new tires and alignment on my G1 tundra. I had suspected that my ball joints might need replacing being that as a common thing with these trucks. Julian showed me underneath that this was a safety concern so we went ahead and move forward. I appreciate your hard work and everyone else that Linda a helping hand to get the job done. I will be returning to get my suspension taken care of soon. Truck is riding smooth and I love the new tires
I live in Nashville but my sister lives in Santa Cruz and has a high mileage auto. She had a major issues with her car and she introduced me to Nick at Lloyd’s. I coordinated over the phone and found Nick to be top shelf. They did the repair which I covered to help my sister. Three weeks later another issue, unrelated, which seemed similar. It turned out to be a minor issue and an easy fix which Lloyds did within a short while. I trust them implicitly. I feel glad to know my sister is in safe hands with her car. Thank you Nick!!!
