Classic BMW, Porsche, Volkswagen specialist. Please call if you have any questions. Thanks!
Matt was very kind and professional. He diagnosed the problem right away. I really appreciate the time he took to explain the situation. Matt knows the Porsche! Highly recommended!
Love this place, I have a 1956 ford f100 and sca has done much work on my truck and always a great job. These guys are pros. Other shops tell it can’t be done, take it to Santa Cruz automotive and they can do it. Quick turn around in most cases same day turn around. Nice.
After a major breakdown in our custom diesel Landrover we 'limped' into Santa Cruz. We rang about 20 local garages, even those claiming to specialize in Landrovers, to no avail. Finally spoke to Matt who didn't say no but said he would research the job (which he had never done) and to call him back. Deciding that face-to-face is best we walked up to his workshop. Meeting Matt and Csaba and looking at his set up my husband (a qualified motor vehicle engineer) was impressed by what he saw and was very happy when they took on the job. We sourced the major parts - a replacement cylinder head etc - from Rovers North in Vermont and, once they arrived, Matt & Csaba did the job within 2 days. We were back on the road less than a week after breaking down - impressive. We can't thank them enough for helping us out in a major crisis. Mabel, our vehicle, is our home and my husband's 'baby' as he built it. Entrusting it to someone else was a big deal for him. We highly recommend Santa Cruz Auto Works. Csaba is an absolute star, so knowledgeable and experienced, he couldn't wait to get his hands on Mabels engine to fix it! @grandrovervoyager @santacruzautoworks
Excellent! My classic Chevy K5 got stuck in 4Lo -- meaning I couldn't go faster than 45 mph. This was the fault of the shop that handled my transfer case rebuild. They'd left the nut finger tight. Matt was there on a late Friday afternoon, crawled under the truck, and had me back on the road in high range in less than 10 minutes.
Matt put new shocks and struts in my BMW 335is. When the aftermarket M3 control arms didn’t have hardware to accommodate my self-adjusting headlights, Matt let me know and offered solutions. Matt transformed my daily driver into a track monster. The turn around time was phenomenal and the attention to detail was obsessive. Santa Cruz Auto Works is easily the finest auto repair in Santa Cruz, and probably the bay area.
Matt totally rebuilt my C5 Corvette F55 (magna ride) suspension. Diagnosed what a Bay area Chevrolet Dealership had severely misadjusted and damaged. Excellent job diagnosed damaged F55 shocks and incorrect leveling and damaged suspension bushings. Matt brought new life to what I was beginning to think was a lost cause. Car handles terrific. Not only did Matt fix it but educated me in the functioning of this type of suspension. Took the time to explain and even demonstrated what was wrong and the increased functionality from his repair recommendation and actions.
I am thankful that I finally have a mechanic I can actually trust with my car. Santa Cruz Auto Works took great care of my BMW M5 fixing not only clutch issues, but countless other things along the way saving me time and money in the future, including rewelding my exhaust. Matt has a keen eye for things that need repairs or if something wasn't done correctly by a previous mechanic, and he will always point it out to you and give you several options of what to do. This is the only shop I will be taking my cars to from now on.
Matt at Santa Cruz Auto works was a lifesaver over the Memorial Day weekend. We had a repair on our Volvo XC70 by another shop. They failed to install a bolt securing the ball joint. Huge safety issue stranding us in Santa Cruz and stopping us from getting back to Sacramento. Matt opened his shop on a holiday weekend and got us home safe. Nice guy. Shop is immaculately clean, prices are reasonable. We are BIG FANS.
