Chandler Automotive Repair in Santa Cruz

My dad took his Honda crv here for years and now I take it. They always answer questions about where to smog, get tires, etc very helpful pointing you in the right direction to get things done for your vehicle that they don’t do in the house. Great company.

These guys are not only one of the few shops I trust in this county but they have integrity and honor their work and their words. Auto repair always comes with unforeseen problems and difficulties. What sets these guys apart is they are honest about them. You know what is going on with your repair be it good or bad. They are excellent mechanics, some of the best in the area, but even the best can run into problems, unexpected issues and and tougher repairs than expected. They stand apart by working harder, keeping you in the loop and getting the job done correctly. Some things can't be repaired or are not cost effective to the vehicle owner to be repaired. These guys won't just charge you a bunch of money and give your car back like it's been fixed. They will tell you exactly what's going on, charge you fairly for the diagnosis and labor (if they charge you at all) and you can rest assured they have already tried all options to solve the problem. These guys have gone well above and beyond what I expected trying to fix an axle stuck in my wifes lexus. They tried everything one could try without taking the entire front end of the car apart. Fixing this problem would have cost 30-40% of what the car was worth. They tried for 2 days to get the axle out but it was frozen. They let us have the car and tried not to charge us for that labor. We paid it anyway and for the other work they did. I've never left their shop unhappy, with bad workmanship or feeling I've been wronged on anyway. I've also never had to bring a vehicle back for bad parts or repair but I know if I did they would do whatever they could to resolve the issue. Unlike the many other 1 star review auto "hope to" repair shops I've reviewed these guys not only know what they are doing and take pride in that they care about their reputation rather than hide under there corporate nanny. Plus they are pretty cool guys who do things like ride dirt bikes rather than childish little weasels who go home and troll websites while they are playing online games with virtual girlfriends like many other shops around here. They charge a tint bit more than the corporations but in the end you are getting a far, far better deal and it's well worth paying an extra 10-20 for knowing they use quality parts and the job is done correctly. These guys are awesome. I'm an idiot for going anywhere else.

They inspected my brakes and told me they were still good. I didn't need to replace them yet. I like that level of honestly in an auto repair company.

The name has changed from Chandler Automotive Repair to Car and Truck Repair. The two brothers have worked for Mark Chandler for several years and they are still continuing doing the same great work. You need to bring your vehicle or work truck to them and they are also going to have New Tires and repairs too. They are very friendly, professional and they also fairly priced for the work they do. This place is rad. I feel like it's hard to find a mechanic you have a lot of confidence in their honesty. I took my car in after running over a deer, to have them check it out. I thought it was going to be an insurance thing. They checked it out and since there ended up being nothing really wrong with it, they didn't charge me. Even fixed this weird thing that was going on with the battery. Took my car in there for an oil change, it was cheaper than big o. Plus they still do a safety and fluid check. Would recommend. Feel like they're very trustworthy. Which is pretty priceless to be honest

Chandler automotive came highly recommended. I am new to the area, and I am so happy to have a great mechanic in the area. They are very knowledgeable, have the clients best interest at heart and do quality service. If they cannot service you, they tend to have several other quality options that will work for your needs. I highly recommend this place to get your car, truck, or van worked on!
