Kraft's Body Shop in Santa Cruz

After getting rear-ended on Highway 17 in my 05 Subaru, I made the horrible mistake of taking it to Caliber Collision just down the street from Kraft. I gave Caliber FIVE opportunities to fix my car, and each time I was called to come pick it up, gaps between the bumper, trunk, and the surrounding panels/tail lights were completely inconsistent. Everything just looked warped. I eventually ended up meeting with the general manager, who essentially gaslit me for half an hour, trying to convince me that nothing looked off, and if it was, that's how it came from the dealership. I took the car home and ran a hose over it for all of 2 minutes only to have the trunk immediately leak/flood, indicating that everything was CLEARLY not fixed properly. AAA allowed me to take the car to Kraft Auto Body just down the street for a second opinion/to review the work Caliber did. Kraft discovered THOUSANDS of dollars in damage that Caliber had missed and refused to address, including frame damage, among other things. The same Caliber general manager showed up to a meeting at Kraft with me and an AAA rep to go over the findings and, embarrassingly, was now trying to convince everyone that the damage was from a previous accident. This was this car’s first and only accident. AAA acknowledged that the vehicle should have been totaled right out of the gate and that Caliber REALLY dropped the ball. Kraft was AMAZING and really did an incredibly thorough job getting to the bottom of everything. Communication was amazing; the team was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. My only issue with Kraft is that I wasn’t able to walk through their shop with kryptonite in my pocket without the entire staff collapsing.

Courteous, professional and efficient. Plus they did a good job and completed on time. Assisted in coordinating both insurance payments and a rental.

Could not give higher remarks for the service I received through this body shop. Was in a very minor accident. My insurance company asked me to pick a shop between here and two others. I chose this shop on a whim based on Google reviews. Right from the phone call to schedule my appointment, to working with their employee Brian, I was treated professionally and with respect. My appointment took MAYBE a total of 30 minutes. Brian took pictures of my vehicle per insurance protocol and then went inside to finish estimate. Afterwards, Brian came outside with a paint solvent and (at no charge) removed the paint from the other vehicle from my bumper, as well as another spot that was separate that I could not remove with a clay bar. Brian answered questions regarding some other body damage done to my vehicle from a separate incident. Brian was completely honest with me regardless of whether I decided to have the work done or not, and explained the whole process thoroughly. In the office, the staff seemed like one big family. It was great to see. Some businesses just get it right. I even witnessed another customer’s appreciation as he dropped off pastries for the staff as a token of his gratitude for how he was treated and the services he was rendered. Could not recommend Krafts Body Shop more.

Wow, I don't know what else to say. My drivers side mirror was damaged and Kraft was recommended to me by my girlfriend. I called, they said they were very busy, only did estimates by appointment and their next availability wouldn’t be for a week. I was a little annoyed (but I now understand why they are so busy). I tried looking for a walk in estimate at other auto body shops but they were rude and also claimed to be busy. At least Kraft was courteous and respectful on the phone. I finally got my estimate at Kraft and it was more than I was hoping. $1350 for the drivers side mirror, no other damage, but I was told this is because the mirror has cameras that will need calibration. Ruben who did the estimate took a close look at the mirror to identify any pieces of the housing that could be reused to try to save me money. I decided to pay out of pocket to avoid getting a mark on my hisory and I was cringing at the cost but appreciated all Ruben did to try to keep the cost down. He ordered the mirror and it took about a week to arrive. We scheduled the repair for Friday and I was told it should only take half a day if I bring it in early. I showed up at 8:30 am just after they opened to drop off my car and they offered me a ride home. I opted to walk but it was very nice for them to offer. I had plans that evening and I was worried I’d not be able to keep them. They said half a day but we all know how that goes and I was worried it would take longer. I got home and did some chores and was just about to sit down to relax when Kraft called around 11 (2.5 hours after dropping it off!). Ruben said the car was ready and he was able to save me some money. The total was $918. Obviously I was very pleased to hear this and I asked them to pick me up. A Kraft Tacoma was out front in 5 minutes and the driver was very nice and conversational. Solid small talk back to the shop and when we pulled in he said “by the way, I detailed your car, it was a little dirty.” He was not wrong about that, my car was in dire need of a wash and I was planning on going to a car wash after the repair but now it was not necessary. He did a great job cleaning my car and even vacuumed the interior and conditioned the tire walls. I have never had a better auto body shop experience. I hope I don’t need Kraft too often but if I ever have need of auto body work again I wont hesitate to bring it back to Kraft.

My hood was damaged in a recent storm. Kraft got me in a week after my estimate and it only took 3 days to fix my car and get it back to me. I appreciate the fast service and the friendly staff.

Kraft’s Body Shop did a fantastic job on repainting my HRV! I received excellent customer service. Ruben kept me updated and was a pleasure to work with. I received my HRV clean and sparkling inside and out. I would highly recommend Kraft’s Body Shop. I’m very happy with the paint job.

Very quick, efficient and professional full service auto body shop. I had a number of repairs needed and couldn't believe how quickly they got it all done. Rain or shine! I also liked how well they kept in communication with me about the status of my vehicle. Plus! They even picked me up from home when I needed a ride to go pick up my car.
