Mike's Transmissions in San Jose

We recently had to have our 1997 Dodge Ram 3500 Diesel dually towed to Mike's transmissions. It was a Friday around 5:00 pm and we coordinated the tow with Renee who is the new owner of the shop. This was our first experience under the new ownership (Mike sold about 2 years ago). Mike did a rebuild back in 2010 and he is a tough act to follow. Renee was extremely helpful with our urgent situation (the truck was disabled on the side of the road) and she assured us we would have a diagnoses and estimate at the beginning of the week. The transmission required a total rebuild and we were provided 3 options in her estimate, rebuild, used transmission or new transmission. We decided on the rebuild to include the torque converter. We met with Henry, Mechanic prior to the commencement of the work and he explained what was wrong and was very thorough in detailing next steps. We were impressed. Fast forward a week later, we received a comprehensive report with the diagnoses and work performed with a breakdown of the cost. The final price was in range of the estimate and was very fair. The truck runs fantastic and we also have a 2 year warranty. We can't say enough great things about Renee and Henry and highly recommend this shop! Debi K and Bill Jamieson

I wanted to give it a couple months after my transmission rebuild to give an honest review I originally called because of the great reviews and that it was a transmission shop and not just a general Mechanic. From the first call, I was already comfortable and after the initial inspection, I was given a price range which after always said and done my final cost was within that range. There was a lot of communication throughout the rebuild I have driven over 5000 miles since the rebuild and I have not had to bring it in one time for any adjustments or bugs. The staff is very friendly and the technicians apparently know what they are doing. What a great experience it was

I got my Van repaired perfectly with in it's transmission at a very affordable cost. It now runs like new. Big up to Mike's Transmissions Auto shop.

I had called around to least a dozen shops to get my duramax transmission repaired. I was way more comfortable bringing it here just based off the call alone. Definitely sounded more experienced than others I spoke with. Towed it to their shop and they did the rest. Kept me informed via txt with pictures and updates nd costs and turn around times. I picked up the truck earlier today and no issues so far. I will be back after 500 miles for an inspection. And will update this review. But I do recommend mikes transmissions for any sort of auto work or maintenance for your vehicle. My particular transmission I believe demands more experience than your average tech is capable of. These guys at mikes are clearly qualified and their work speaks for itself. Thanks guys!

This place is great. It does great work and keeps you informed and when we get our car back, everything works great they’ve done transmission work on both our GMC‘s ones in an envoy the other ones in Acadia great service. Great customer service. I recommend this place if anyone has any Transmission issues to go to them. Thank you for the great work.

Just sharing our experience as we really appreciated the consistent communication through our diagnosis and repair process. We had no clue what the repair of a transmission would be initially. I re-attached my differential here. Good experience. Renee is very kind and welcoming! Mike helped identified the issue and fixed it quick and neat, made it a half day clean shot. They also helped store my transmission(which I was about to do R&R until they identified the issue) for me to pick and return. Highly recommended.
