First time Volvo owner and first time got service here. Overall positive experience, polite, attentive. However it was sooo long wait time, as everything in US I guess. What the point to schedule client to specific time and just keep him in line while serving other cars? I could just came 3 h later and tech will start working on my car right away.
The work was excellent and car looked better than expected. There was a longer than expected wait to be helped the morning of drop off, but otherwise experience was as pleasant as could be and was very pleased with work done.

I recently visited Volvo for a routine maintenance and oil change, and while there, the technician discovered two additional issues with my car, one of which was critical and required immediate attention. Cheyenne, one of the Volvo service specialists, handled the situation with exceptional professionalism and care. She promptly informed me about the issues and made sure I was comfortable with the next steps. To make things even easier, Cheyenne went above and beyond by arranging an Uber for both my drop-off and pick-up, ensuring I wasn’t left stranded. The service center seems not at all interested in customer service. They had me wait for 3 hours in the waiting area before I found out that they had not even started service on my car.
They do NOT coordinate with the call center whose number is on their website, so what they promise can not be depended on.
Very poor experience. I brought my car there because they said they had the tire. My car was there for 3 days and then they said they didnt have the tire but was getting it in. Stayed there the 4th day and the tire never came. Very unprofessional and low maturity.

My Volvo had a propulsion system failure and had to be towed to Automation Volvo on a Saturday. Carlos was there, and he was very kind and helpful. They unfortunately did not have any loaner cars available, and told me to check with him at noon on Monday. I needed a car to get to work on Monday, so I texted him on Monday at 7 AM when they opened, and he arranged for an Uber to pick me up and found a loaner car for me by 9 AM. Then, he had my car repaired and maintenanced by the end of Monday! I was very pleasantly surprised as the last time I had a repair performed at another local dealership, the car sat at their shop for over a week before they started repairs, and were really difficult to reach for communication. I was able to get to Automation Volvo about 5 minutes before closing at 6 PM, and Carlos had said not to worry, and that he would be waiting. I have to give Carlos absolute props for being very responsive on text. He is a consummate professional. Only reason for not giving 5 stars is that Autonation doesnt have much wiggle room on loaner cars, has no option to get you a rental car, and when you call their office, you get transferred to a person who doesnt actually work at the site. But I give Carlos 5 stars. Thanks Autonation and Carlos!
Excellent work by Minh Dang (service advisor) and Andy (master tech). I will not hesitate to come back here for future service as these guys were great to work with. They replaced the engine of my 2016 Volvo V60 CC, under extended warranty, after it failed an oil consumption test. Minh called me to keep me informed of the status at every turn, provided ETAs, and even replaced my loaner vehicle on short notice. This was the best car buying experience Ive ever had. This is the fourth time Ive bought a car with a dealer and every other time, Id left feeling like I had been taken advantage of and oversold. AutoNation Volvo was able to get me a great deal on the exact car that I wanted. They were friendly, accommodating, and respectful throughout the entire process. I live in San Francisco and there are several other Volvo dealers closer to me, but I will definitely go back to AutoNation the next time Im looking for a car.

Overall AutoNation Volvo Cars San Jose Service Center provided a good service. My only disappointment the fact that I scheduled my appointment in advance but when I arrive at the time of the appointment - there were many others parked at the entrance waiting for service and it took them a while before they actually started working on my car so as a result I was stuck there way over the 2-3 hrs they initially mentioned it would take.

Big discrepancies on scheduling online prices for 40,000 mile service. Shows estimate of $801. Vs dealership sharing over $1200. Will definitely make me consider returning as false advertisement is bad. Supposedly, the website is supposed to be updated .

I had a great experience for regular service (20k miles) of my 2023 Volvo C40. I came in at 7.30, was out by 8.30, and they provided a full inspection report (and some recommendations). David Truong was informative and nice. Overall happy with the service.
I had my tires replaced and wheel alignment done and I am very satisfied with the convenience and quick response of the service.
My Volvo was in for a regular service Maintenace, due to the Call Service light came on. I told them I just purchased a new battery and still getting a reading low battery. When I pick up the car my Call Service light was still on. They had to keep my car to run a new diagnosis discover my car has 2 batteries they needed to order the backup battery therefore they kept my car for a couple more days. Come to find out the person who was doing the maintenance notice the light was on but didnt tell anyone and thought I knew, and I did and that is why I brought my car in for service. Everything was completed my service rep was really sweet making sure everything was taken care of, and she (Volvo) was ready to pick up this time with no issues. He even offered to call me an Uber if I was not able to get a ride.

Service team is short staffed at AutoNation but that didn t impact the level of service. My Volvo is just 2 months old but facing numerous issues. Serval alarms and lamps on dash etc. overall I don t feel good about new cars failing this badly. The service counselor, Carlos, was very knowledgeable and empathic. The overall workmanship was fabulous. And i received the vehicle back in 3 days. They provided a loaner so it didn t matter much. Thank you for the service and taking care of the issues.
The service center took time to get to the root cause. They also provided a loaner and the facility was clean. The cause was identified but they had to order a part. Waiting to see if they will follow up. Will visit again.

They failed to address simple problem of electric fan always turned on. They got too much complaining to me about , oh we can t figure out how to remove the front grill ; oh we can t figure out how to pop the stuck hood ; oh the battery will not take a charge- you need to pay us $660 dollars to replace . Side note , I had AAA come, tow my S80, I popped the hood open, and put my one year old Costco battery on my Smart Charge Controller. My battery is fine. I have planned to trade my s80 for a brand new Mercedes GLE450, this weekend. In the meantime, I plan to pull the fan tray , and replace the controller module; $32 dollars for the part. Your service dept. just busted another sale.

Minimum service option was selected this time. When the service was completed, my car came in with dusts. Probably because the minimum service was chosen? I had to clean the car afterwards. Not a pleasant experience.

I went to ANVOLVOSJOSE due to a recall on my car. My appointment was at 7 am. I arrived early at 645 for processing and stuff but the office didn t open until 703. I was called at 720. There was another client, a much older guy who complained about not starting on time as allegedly, he also has a 7 am appointment and actually arrived early as well at 655 am. The good part of the review is that when they told me that my recall repair will be done by the end of the day , I explained that I live in Santa Cruz, they accommodated my concerns and was done by 930 am.
Had AutoNation investigate a warning light. They updated the software and validated there were no issues. They were quick and efficient. You have to call the centre to find out the status of your vehicle.

Worst customer service ever. I used to do maintenance here until I had engine failure while I was driving. And had another engine problem 2 weeks after I fixed it at this place. Since then I ve been doing maintenance elsewhere and was told the car needs a more frequent oil change. I recently received a volvo notice of oil consumption extended warranty and scheduled a test today. But when I came to the shop, jamie said what other car shop said does not qualify for raising an issue. She refused to even do a test to investigate. If car engine failed does not count for a sign I don t know what else does. At the end it turned out that I was just a few month past warranty but she refused to do the check even before she found it out. Staff was rude and irresponsible. Service is questionable. Very disappointed.
They really dont treat you well here. This is a big reason why I had no remorse selling my volvo and buying a lexus. How they treat me at lexus is light years beyond.

I took two services due to check engine lights coming-up, and it turned out to be a bad catalytic converter. Symptom was fixed by replacing it, and Minh Dang helped me for the arrangement of repair/renting a car. I appreciate his help and he was nice and kind to try to do his best to help customers.

Quick and hassle-free service!
This place is a nightmare. I have tried twice to get service for my Volvo at this center, and failed twice. The first time they had to keep my car overnight, despite keeping my side of the morning appointment, but I still found the car unserved at the end of the next day. No apologies. Quite the opposite in fact, with a rude comment when I decided to get my car back that day. The second time, again arriving in time for my appointment, I was brought into the waiting room, only to see customers arriving after me being served first. Nobody came to my help, despite a room full of service advisors, all busy on their computers while avoiding eye contact with customers at all cost. So, based on customer service alone (since I cannot speak to the actual car service ;-), I cannot recommend this place.

I always go to AutoNation Volvo to do the service. This time is was easy to get available time within a week of my request. I stayed waiting for the service to be co.pleted because it takes 2-2.5 hours to do everything. After 3.5 hours I have to go to the desk to ask for an update. I wasnt impress for the lack of respect for customers time. If they are too busy, they should book less cars or prioritize those with scheduled appointments.

When I arrive at my appts the services are quick, and they provide me with a car loaner or a rental. They text you when your vehicle is ready to pick up and follow up one week later to check that your vehicle doesnt have the same problem. Thank you for your service!

Weve been using AutoNation Volvo for service of our Volvo vehicles for over 6 years. The service has never been that great but it has gone downhill over the years. On our most recent experience, the service manager working the car went on vacation and said a new service manager would call on Monday with an update. No call. Tuesday at noon I call and Im told Ill get a call back by 1:30. No call. I call again around 4:30 on Tuesday, again Im told Ill get a call back shortly. No call Tuesday or Wednesday. I call Thursday at noon Im told they are waiting for a Warranty approval, so I call the Warranty company directly and they had left a message approving it on Tuesday. So, I call back and actually get a service manager who says (again) that someone will call me back shortly to confirm everything (to which I asked for someone to call by COB). Around 4:45, still no call. So, I go in there and talk live to a service manager that tells me he will call me back the next afternoon since he is busy and the warranty places are closed now. Needless to say, I no longer believe when Im told someone will call me back...so I called the warranty place myself and handed the phone to the service manager (shock...the warranty place was still open). I finally have a target date for getting the car back. It turns out the service manager handling my car went out of the office without actually handling off my vehicle, no forwarding of voice mail or email and no one was taking responsibility to actually handling my car...I kept getting pushed off (4 times and possibly the 5th time which I didnt let happen). I think they were just waiting for my original service manager to get back. To add insult to the whole thing...my wife brought the car in due to the AC not being cold and was told thats just how Volvos are only to find out that it was actually leaking freon. Even worse, we brought it in over a year ago while it was under the original manufacturers warranty for the same AC issue only to be told nothing was wrong and we lived with it until now when we tried again. Worst customer service Ive ever experienced. If you tell a customer you will call them, then you call them when you said you will....simple!
I made an appointment to take my XC40 for a factory recall. The appointment was made on April 14, 2022, for a service date of May 31, 2022, at 7:40 am. I live in Santa Cruz, so I had to leave my house at 6:30 p.m. to get there in time for my appointment. When I arrived at the dealership, the service advisor (dont know his name, he never introduced himself) told me that they didnt have the parts for the recall (the appointment was made six (6) weeks prior), only two service technicians were working that day, and there were approximately 20 people ahead of me. I left the dealership. I sent an email to them explaining my experience and asked them to contact me. Ive not heard anything. At first, I thought my experience might be an anomaly, but after reading all of the 1-star reviews (and there are a lot of them!), I suppose its not. I scheduled another appointment for June 30, but after reading everyone elses reviews, theres no way Im taking my car there. This place is horrible!
Service scheduling is horrible, had an appointment at 9.30, got there in time, it is 10.14 and the advisor is still tending to the previous customers, there is no point in taking appointments if you can t respect them. Hopefully their work is better than their scheduling. Update: I get a text on friday evening that the work is done, ask to come pick up Saturday morning, I get a reply saying, yes we open at 6am. I get there at 7.50 and an employee waiting tells me they open at 8. My service advisor comes at 8 and I ask him about it, he s like oh I made a mistake! Good thing I didn t come even earlier! I am not saying a mistake is not human, but after the fiasco of the check in, you could pay a little extra attention, the repeating pattern might point to a real issue. So dear GM that replies, get your people a watch and probably more people to checkin
Parts & Service departments, absolutely AMAZING! Dennis (parts advisor) answered my call while I was in Elk Grove, CA in distress of need of a new wheel (tire and rim). All other locations did not have either part, but David assured me that he could order the parts asap and have it come as soon as 1-2 days. He was very transparent about the price and straightforward about what is best for my vehicle. He helped advise me that I could have a save drive home even with my spare as long as I stay under 50 mph and put the spare on the rear end of my car rather than the front where the impact took place. David along with everyone else in the parts department are so knowledgable and friendly. The service department is superr busy, but were able to replace my tire in a jiffy! I appreciate the kindness and extent they went for me to do the job. Please be patient with them as they have their hands and arms full with tasks. They replaced the tire with such thorough and precise care. I am so thankful to have David and everyone from this location help me.

I keep trying to give them the benefit of the doubt when I schedule service but they are ALWAYS late, they dont return calls, and have the worst customer service ever. When I purchased the car, they provided drop off and pick up, then they changed to reimbursing ubers, now they tell you maybe youll be lucky and get a rental car. This is the WORST dealership. I caution fair warning when dealing with the Finance department here. I have things to say about sales as well but at least the used sales manager is great so this review is only about Finance. Finance will flat out lie to you and lie some more to convince of what they are offering. In my case there were two examples where I recognized their deceit. The first was when they over inflated the cost of the Volvo warranty to try to convince me to purchase their AutoNation warranty (dont do it). I was purchasing a certified Volvo and wanted to extend the certification to 10 year (like it says on the certification brochure) but I was quoted nearly $5000. I ultimately received it elsewhere for $2000. Just to compare, I then asked about the Volvo VIP protection which was then quoted to me for 7k (what!). So obviously the best choice was the Autonation for $3300. I dont think so. For a Volvo I want Volvo genuine parts and service. I cant stand this type of trickery. The second example was when I asked for time (like a day or so) to think about what sort of warranty coverage I wanted. Wasnt sure if I wanted 6, 7, 8, 9, or 10 years. I didnt know how much milage or deductible I wanted either. I asked whether or not I can purchase a warranty for my car after the fact. The finance person said while this is an option for the Autonation and VIP warranties, its not an option for the certification extension because once I drive it off the lot the car is not certified anymore. On top of that, the warranties would be significantly more expensive if I didnt purchase at time of same. All this was absolutely not true. I declined all coverages and went elsewhere for the warranties. I can almost guarantee youll get much better service from some other dealerships. Tip, ask to take a timeout from the discussion to call a nearby dealership and ask what they think. Better yet (if you know youll be buying a car in advance), call some dealers ahead of time. Ask everyone the exact same questions and if they respond the same, its likely true. If you get different answers be suspicious. I wish I had done this but fortunately I know some people in the business. At this point, I would stay suspicious of Autonation dealerships. Happy car buying all.
