I had an amazing experience working with Nhan. My undercarriage covering of my Audi S5 got ripped half way off of my car in a storm. I messaged Nhan the night of and he told me to bring it in the next day. I dropped it off and he had it ready within the hour. Nhan was extremely professional and generous with his time. Firstly, he seemed like a really nice guy. It was quite busy so he came off a bit flustered but to be expected. Came in after scheduling for brake pads change and had a price quoted through texts but first question when I arrived was whether there was any vibrations. I said yes and then he said rotors would need to be replaced and that was now much more expensive and it would be 4-5 hours later instead of 2-3 hours. Got another quote elsewhere and taking my business elsewhere. Wish he would have asked the vibration question up front in texts as that wouldn t waste my time. Also parking is atrocious unfortunately.

Great service! Very reliable! Had 2 cars transmission fluid change and had my trunk cable fixed.Before trans I was at another mechanic to have my trunk cable done. This guy he refused. He said it will take me all day trans accommodated me with no problem. As for my 2018 Honda civic the old mechanic had me bough transmission fluid from the dealer because he said you want to use Honda s transmission fluid not after market I bough it then he refused to do it because I told him there are 2 filters he need to replace. He said take it to the dealer . Obviously I left that mechanic. Trans accommodated me again and took him those transmission fluid. He swap both filters and gave me the car back in the same day. Quoted me fairly. Tran also took critical picture to show you his honest work. No questions. 5 stars! Highly recommended. Trusted mechanic are hard to find!

Mr. Tran was highly knowledgeable and explained the issues clearly, providing a detailed and comprehensive analysis on my leak issue for a 2010 Honda accord. Turns out there is a loose screw in the back of my solenoid valve. Thank you again!

Im not big on ratings because its peoples opinions. What leads me to most is old school ratings. That is word of mouth. I have several friends at work that use Nhan. All raving about his mechanical talent and honesty. That is the reason why I decided to take me beloved truck to him. Nhan went through my truck and took care of all the necessary things. Some things I thought for sure needed to be done but he kept it honest abd said that it doesnt need to be done. He even thought of future maintenance. He gave me a magnetic drain plug. Something so simple to attract metal shavings from going through the engine. He went far and beyond. Needless to say I found my new mechanic. He takes the time to go through what he did and makes appropriate suggestions. So dont be taken and take your vehicle to someone honest like Nhan.

This is my usual spot for an oil change. One of the things I appreciated most was that Nhan was not pushy or aggressive when it came to recommending repairs. He took the time to listen to my concerns and thoroughly assess my cars needs before suggesting any solutions. he was able to diagnose and fix my cars alternator in around 2 hours while I went to the mall nearby. Not only did he provided excellent service, but he also took the time to explain the problem and the steps he was taking to fix it, which I greatly appreciated. The prices were also very reasonable, and I felt like I was getting a fair deal for the high-quality work he was doing. After seeing the reviews at T&N, I requested a quote for my BMW thermostat replacement. My experience was positive right from the start. I had sent my quote request to multiple places, and not only was T&Ns quote in with the most reasonable responses, I could just tell it was an honest and straightforward response. Sure enough, I made an appointment, dropped off my car (quick and easy at my appointment time), and it was done on time and no extra costs (even though he did some extra things for me).

This repair shop is top notch. I was completely taken back by the level of courtesy given to me. I took my mini cooper here and Nhan explained everything to me thoroughly. He diagnosed the problem and kept me up to date on repairs from time to time. Very honest and trustworthy plus excellent work ethic. I wish all places were this honest, helpful and nice. Nhan is simply excellent. I dropped off my car with break issues, and within a few hours he called me back with a full diagnosis with the recommended fixes. He gave me a reasonable quote for the parts & labor and provided additional services without charge or hesitation. I saved a lot of money and time by going to Nhan for these services. Its been almost 5 years and Im still coming back!! This is my #1 auto shop though I live quite far away. Ive been bringing all of my cars here. The service is very quick, professional, and direct to the point! Oil change was super quick (for me, its less than 20 mins most of the time). Nhan also did free inspection like coolant, brake check, etc. I did brake change here as well. He provided the pics of the old brakes and the new ones. Great! I hit some stuff on freeway twice and my car started making noise because of broken piece scratching the tires. Both times I messaged Nhan and got replied to bring the car in on the same day. He fixed them quickly for FREE! It was a quick fix but I wouldnt mind paying either because it was still his time. There was another time I brought my uncles car here for check engine light. He checked and guided us to get the part directly from the dealer because his shop didnt have it. Direct to the point! And again free advice! Anyway, highly recommended. T & N is great place to get your car fixed. My husband has Honda CRV and its 14 years old so it shows Light every now and then. We got it checked out other place and he ripped us. Then we found T&N Auto service thought goggle. Mr. Nhan did proper testing and he fixed every thing . After 10 days later the car was showing Engine lite again and my husband texted Mr. Nhan and he recognized and told my husband to stop by and he will get checked out. He checked and found that it was less oil so he filled it up and he didnt even charge it. They are very Honest and reasonable. He always answer via text . No one ever wants to deal with car trouble, the first thought that comes to your mind is its going to cost a lot! I had a slight issue with my car turning on after I put gas in it. It wouldnt turn on. I gave it a moment and I was able to get it going again. I also noticed my car making a noise when turning the steering wheel left and right. I wanted to deal with these issues so I searched Yelp since I moved to this side of town and needed a new mechanic. All the reviews seemed great and it was pretty close by so I sent a quote request and outlined my car issue. Tran messaged back fairly quickly and asked further questions about the issue. He recommended an appointment date for the week and I agreed with the day and time. I dropped off my car today and he said it would be about two hours of assessing the issue and hed let me know. After a couple of hours I received a text from Tran who outlined the issues he found. He also sent me pictures of what needed to be repaired. I asked him for a quote to get everything fixed and I felt his pricing was fair, so I agreed to have everything fixed. He messaged me again and said my car was ready. I had dropped off my car at 11am and everything was completed by 4:30 which I thought was great! When I arrived to get my car, Tran went over everything he repaired and even showed me the parts that were replaced and where they were made.The parts were made in Japan which I liked since thats where my car was originally built. He walked me out to my car to let me know how to continue maintenance moving forward and what to look out for. You can tell Tran really cares about his work and customers. This will be my go-to auto shop moving forward! Car: 2006 Mazda3 hatchback Issues repaired: Low oil- oil topped off (no charge!) Tire rod ends Stabilizer Free coolant and washer fluid top off, tire pressure check and general inspection were included.

Just took my car to this shop for the first time. My old shop was getting a bit pricey and I was questioning their integrity so decided to shop around. A very very good experience with Nhan. I had the front and rear pads replaced along with front rotors on our 2016 Tucson. My other shop had said I needed the rear rotors replaced too but Nhan explained to me that wasnt needed and why. He also took pictures of his work and showed me the old parts. This shop is honest, which is the most important, and also reasonably priced (without cutting corners). Im happy having saved over $300 through their honesty and fair prices!! Ill be back & thanks Nhan!

Nhan was great! I was overdue for an oil change and needed a refill of coolant for my cars AC. I sent a text over asking if it would be possible to come in the same day, and luckily they texted back very quickly saying they would be available in about two hours. The whole service only took about 30minutes, including the oil change, coolant refill, and Nhan even went the extra mile by refilling the windshield wiper and fixing my tire pressure as it was far too high, all without even adding additional charge for it which was super sweet. VERY VERY VERY reasonably priced, honestly I think they should charge more for such efficient and effective service. Nhan even provided pictures of what was done and explained everything to my bf and I before we left. Overall 10/10 wonderful experience and I highly reccomend!!! Thanks again Nhan!

For the service, not only did Nhan address my initial concern to replaced the major defected parts, but also he did a comprehensive inspection with no extra charge. I cannot express enough the outstanding service I received from T&N Auto Services in San Jose, particularly from Tran. I had been dealing with a maddening drive train issue in my car for what felt like an eternity. From the very first interaction, Tran exhibited an unparalleled level of professionalism and expertise. My 200+K mile Toyota 3MZFE developed a coolant leak. Wasnt anything obvious (to me), but T&N identified it quickly (somewhere in the valley between the cylinders) and repaired it a day later. They shared all the photos they took during the repair, showed me all the parts that they had replaced (gaskets, hoses, broken connectors), and then showed me under the hood where the repairs were made. While they were at it, they fixed a mistake I had previously made on the throttle body which was causing a engine code. Definitely my go-to shop in San Jose, and Ill recommend to friends! Just here to echo what all other people are saying :) Tran is great at his work. Very humble. Dropped off my car for routine service and it was ready in about two hours. Tran also pointed out that air filters is good and no need to change. He also showed me before and after pictures of replaced spark plugs wow no one does that. Price quoted was reasonable and less than dealerships. Only downside for some people could be, no large waiting area. but hey, you can walk to Oakridge mall or Almaden lake park. Highly recommend this local business.

Having not had to take a vehicle to a mechanic in over 15 years (dealerships on extended warranties), I was quite nervous when my wifes Mini Countryman started having some issues. I did as much research as I could and asked my smog guy for a recommendation... and when all was said and done I ended up at T&N. Now, Im ruined forever, in the best way. With all of the horror stories you hear about terrible mechanics who try to scam you out of money while NOT fixing your car, nothing could be further from the truth here. The service was quick, personal, and professionally done. A job we originally thought would be 2-3 days was done by closing time. I could not have asked for anything more than the service we received at T&N. We even sat around and had a great conversation before driving away. Cars running great for now, but if anything goes wrong in the future, I know were bringing it back here. Cant go wrong.

Took in my beater 2007 Honda Fit due to an electrical outage in the car after some DIY repairs. Feeling stupid and was ready to shell out 600-800 dollars for possible replacement of the alternator or starter. But Nhan quickly diagnosed and informed me that it wouldnt be the case, but it could be electrical shortage to the system if I were unlucky. Felt uneasy with those prospects, but luckily my car was fixed within 2 hours. He explained in that after testing, things were good, cleaned up and tightened connections that I may missed for my DIY, and charged me only a very reasonable and nominal fee of $50. what a relief! Hard to find a good and honest mechanic, but Nhan is definitely that guy. Thanks for all your help, Nhan!

The most thorough, ethical, and detailed mechanic I have ever encountered. My car has only ever seen the dealer and I have had some struggles lately with their service and care. Nhan got me in and talked me through the entire process and sent multiple pictures. He even told me what the dealership wanted me to fix for $1000 was not needed and a simpler fix was preferred. I have full faith in Nhan and his entire team. My car is driving better than it has in years. Highly recommend him.

Tran and his son make the best team. I trust them to be honest and diligent with their work. I get my oil change here for an unbeatable price. Given theyre a 2 person team if they dont pick up the phone on the first try give them a text - theyre faster at responding that way. One time I was late on my oil change and crunched for time and Tran fit me in for a 15 minute job, spectacular! 5 star customer service and quality work, cannot recommend enough!

Best auto care service in the Bay Area. My engine has not been that clean since purchased.

I m not one to leave many reviews but have to call out Tran from T&N Auto for the awesome service received today. Had check engine light come on in my old Honda Pilot. Needed the car this weekend so wanted to get it checked quickly to make sure nothing major. Tran texted me back and said come by at 3pm. He quickly read the scanner and said he knew the problem. Scanner was saying all cylinders were mis firing. He said that is impossible and bet me oil was low. Sure enough, oil was low and he filled oil to proper level. Fixed, on the road and no charge (even though I insisted) in 10min. He just won a new customer.

Wow: What an amazing service experience at T&N today. We suddenly discovered, on busy Monday, that our car was just about all out of engine oil. Nhan graciously accommodated us with a same-day appointment. When we arrived, we were pleasantly surprised to hear that we could return in an hour: for the oil/filter change and general inspection (it had been about nine months since our last tune-up, with our previous mechanic, who recently closed his shop). When we returned after an hour, the car was actually ready, right on time. Nhan surprised us by showing us numerous images on his cell phone of various places on the car that he had inspected, clearly and concisely and explaining his analysis/conclusions, patiently answering our questions. We had always been very pleased with our previous mechanic but he never did anything like that (and Nhan offered to send us all the photos!). He was fast and efficient but always pleasant, without making us feel rushed. The fee for all that was extremely reasonable and, to top it off, no one moved my seat so that it needed to be readjusted back to its original position, which I also really appreciated. :-) So glad we found T&N! Note to future/new customers: T&N is located within a kind of strip mall exclusively populated by auto service shops. Its quite crowded, so be prepared to drive very slowly and carefully after you turn in from Winfield. If you want to take a walk in the area while your car is being worked on, you can turn left on Winfield to walk to the Oakridge Mall (about 15 minutes) or right, to walk to Almaden Lake Park (about 10 minutes). Or you could play video games and hang out at Golfland on the way to the Oakridge Mall.

wow! truly a well run business and stand up person! we brought our 2011 Hyundai sonata that had burned and ran out of oil (without any indicator lights or error codes) and the owner filled it up with some oil and advised me to take it to the dealership for repairs. the owner did this for FREE - I even offered to pay him some amount and he wouldnt take it! this wouldve been the perfect chance to charge us or find some other problem and take our money. instead he gave me good advice. you now have a customer for life! Im so happy your shop is within 5 miles from us!!

Tran is, in my humble opinion, the best mechanic in San Jose. He performs excellent work at very reasonable and fair prices. I began going to him for oil changes after my old mechanic was forced out of business by astronomical rent increases. Tran has thus far done very good work. Ive used him for oil changes and one other service. My father once told me to find a solid and reliable mechanic and stick with him, and Tran has become that mechanic.

Tran was honest, straightforward, and extremely attentive. I went in with a slight noise in my transmission, and was expecting the worst. He heard the noise, but after very thorough inspection and testing, he found nothing actually wrong, and shared pictures of everything with me, and discussed things to look out for in the future. He topped off all my fluids and even gave me a clip to replace a fastener that had gone missing under my hood. He really took the time with my car, and with me to discuss everything, and in my mind went above and beyond. And he did the whole thing free of charge! If I had gone to the dealer, I feel that they wouldve tried to convince me I needed a new transmission. He doesnt really answer his phone, and communicates only via text, which can be a little off-putting, but his replies to me were prompt, and I really have no complaints with my experience there. Excellent auto service. Would definitely recommend and use again.

The service at T&N was excellent. They were very efficient, prompt, and straightforward, which is a breath of fresh air when dealing with a repair shop. The specific incident with my car ended up being more minor than my expectations, but T&N was very helpful throughout the whole process and made the process simple and stress-free.

I ve been going here for over 5 years and Nhan has always taken the best care of my car and all of its needed repairs. T&N Auto Services is owned by Nhan Tran, very friendly, punctual, professional, and truthful; he will treat you like family. My only regret is that I didnt find this place sooner! I have been their customer for more than a year now, and I am confident this is one of the best auto services in the Bay Area based on price, honesty, and quality of service. Nhan is very transparent and will explain everything he did to your car. He does not only repair cars but gives you some useful maintenance tips and teaches you a bit about car engines. What I like is that he does not proceed to unnecessary and expensive reparation for your car, he will help you save money while some Auto services will just proceed on overpriced and non necessary services. Lets conclude with pros and cons about this business. Pros: honesty, reliability, affordability, transparency, friendly, professional, and positivity Cons: (not really cons to be honest!) - Located next to many other specialized auto services, so the place gets busy quickly, its tight and crowded with cars, however, I think its convenient because everything is in one place! - Busy schedule, call or text him first.

Fast and reliable! I really recommend T & N because not only was the price competitive- he was really honest. He couldve charged me for extra services I didnt need (like my previous auto shop did) but he told me an honest status of my car and even showed me pictures that he took of it to prove it. I believe that T&N is an honest auto shop because Nhan didnt try to overcharge me. I needed to service my BMW 228i for whatever is required to remediate the brake warning light. I tried to get quotes from a dozen other places and the majority of them either gave me ridiculous quotes or, unfortunately, wouldnt even give me an estimate because they wanted me to drop off my car for a consultation first. T&N gave me a fair quote (with OEM parts) up front. From the moment I dropped off my car, I had a good impression since he inspected the pads *with* me and asked questions like if I noticed any vibrations when braking, etc. Contrary to what the other auto shops had told me, after he inspected the brakes, he texted me that the rotors were actually fine and only the pads and sensors needed to be replaced. When I picked up my car, he went the extra mile to show me pictures of exactly what he has done or replaced, which I greatly appreciated because I could hold him accountable for all of those fixes. The important thing here is... T&N couldve easily charged me the originally agreed upon quote and replaced the rotors even though they were fine, especially since thats exactly what the other shops insisted on. But thanks to his transparency, I only had to pay for the actual work that needed to be done - saving me hundreds of dollars. I got the feeling that he takes a lot of pride in his work and likes ensuring the customer receives an honest service. I will be coming here again in the future!

This is the most professional, quick, and transparent auto repair shop Ive ever been to. He often is very responsive to my requests via text, keeps me in the loop, and documents all changes via photos. He often even walks me through the exact place on the vehicle he did work, to make sure I know what had happened, and why. On top of the amazing work and great service, his rates are very reasonable. Cant recommend it enough!

Mr Tran was very professional. Was given a quick response to schedule appointment for a light replacement and oil change. He is highly requested so book ahead of time. When I picked up the car he explained what he did and showed me what was done . Plus he checked tired pressure and filled fluids that were needed. Those little extras shows his work ethics. Nhan is really a decent person and awesome mechanic who you can trust for your car maintenance, my friend introduced him to me, he did really good job on my M3 E46 for engine oil leak fix and regular maintenance, honestly I dont wanna take my car elsewhere any longer. If you get a chance to visit his garage, youll see its clean everywhere and everything is put in order, I rarely see a garage like this. Sorry for the late comment, Nhan! again, I do appreciate your great efforts on my car!

Nhan helped me determine what was the best used car for my daughter to purchase over the course of a number of days. He checked out 3 cars we test drove on a moment s notice! He was efficient, honest, professional, kind and patient, spending time going over the main parts of the each of the three used cars I asked him to check out in order for the car to be safe for my daughter. And, he didn t even charge me!!! I tried to pay him, but he said he was solely doing it to help me and didn t want to get paid. I have only had Nhan service one of my families vehicles in the the past. He replaced an alternator on my other daughter s car. I was extremely pleased with his service and that s why I went back to him when I needed his professional opinions about which used car to purchase. Nhan has a customer for life!!! I don t know if Nhan will ever know how much of an impact his selfless acts have had on me and my family, but I hope he does.Thank you, thank you, thank you Nhan!!!

He fixed my wifes air conditioning, and now the AC works great. I liked how he sent pictures of the broken parts, and how he explained what was wrong. He is very responsive to text messages. I have decided to use this place for future car repairs.

Was looking for an auto shop to do inspection on a used car we just bought from Shift; found this on Yelp and Im glad I did! The owner (Nhan) immediately responded to my text (voicemail was full), and offered inspection for free! At first I was hesitant because who would give free service these days?? But I took the chance and thought that as long I see what hes doing with the car, that should be fine. On the day of our appointment, Nhan indeed showed us how he inspects the car and thoroughly explained what we needed to know and what we need to do in the future when it reaches a certain mileage. His knowledge and passion for cars truly shows. Sooo, turned out our car was good (yay!), and Nan even added some coolant as it was already low. We tried to tip him for being so helpful, but he politely declined. So yes, we got the service and coolant for free, and Nhan just earned a loyal customer! Thank you again, Nhan!

The owner came out and quickly worked with my car, I needed oil change but theres so many small things that needs to be done. I told him that I might need to change the air filter or the cabin filter or both and the left signal indicator in my car and he was quick on looking into it. I looked up yelp to go into smaller businesses on purpose because of cares they give to their customers. As Im sitting here waiting for my car, I saw a customer walked in who seems to be a regular who he talks to as a friend. The price is similar to chain oil change places, but is definitely convenience and very attentive to car care. Will definitely be back for sure!

Just had my front breaks done by Nhan and the service was amazing! Ive searching for a good shop to just do general maintenance on our cars and we will be definitely be coming back. The price he gave was super competitive and fair. I was able to get an appointment the day before even though he was super busy, so Im super thankful for that! I was quoted on parts including labor and tax. He texted me when it was all done and when I paid there were no surprise fees. Nhan was telling me about his business and what he used to do for a career before. Cars are his passion so I could definitely tell that he put much care was into my car! He even topped off all my fluids I was low on. Overall, friendly service and fair prices. I will be continuing to bring my cars here for any repairs/services!
