Meineke Car Care Center(San jose, Hamilton ave)- The entire process was smooth, but staff was very rude to us. We had our valuables in car and just went to take the valuables. But the staff denied to take it, which I feel its not acceptable. The tone of conversation of one the male staff was sounding very arrogant.

Got me in and out quickly. Love it.

It s a horrible business, i came to this place only because of it s close to my work. I don t like that they always want to ripped you off, i told them I just changed the belt and air filter but they kept saying they don t have the record for it and wanted me to change it. Don t recommend go to this place they don t care about your vehicle, they just want to make money off you

Three things starting from the worst to minor annoyances: 1. They said my back breaks needed to be replaced - 3 mm, really should get them done asap! They quoted me $700+ to get the back breaks done. I took my car to get another quote at my regular place (stevens creek toyota). Not only was their quote less than $400, but also when they inspected my breaks, they said both front and rear were at 7mm and did not need to be replaced yet. I will never ever go to Meineke again for anything. 2. I brought my car in for an oil change appointment. When I arrived, they told me a minimum of 2 hrs for the service. So, I went to wait at a coffee shop in the mall. I called around the two hour mark to see if I should start heading over. I would not have called, but there were 0 updates for the entire 2 hours on the portal. The guy on the phone seemed frustrated I called I did tell you at least 2 hours, didn t I? - not super friendly especially that I only called once and only because they were not updating the status online. 3. They said they filled up the windshield fluid and did not - I ended up coming back after receiving my car for them to fill it up - to their credit, they apologized and did it quickly, but this just shows more sloppiness in communication. Adding more comments after the owner s response. Unfortunately there is nothing the business can do to remedy #1 - it was either a poor assessment or a blatant lie. Neither is good and the business has lost my trust forever.

100% trust this location , the manager is also very knowledgeable. Appreciate the kindness and transparency while moving along the process on my way to work .

This place is very professional & transparent. My questions are always answered & I never leave confused or questioning my service. I ve been in & out recently getting my battery replaced, fluids done, & all the minor details tuned up on my car. It drives so much better. I ended up missing the appointment for my spark plugs service & they rescheduled it for the same week without issue. This place is great for people who drive long distance & want to be up-to-date or know more about their cars.

Everything was very quick and very efficient. Very happy they were able to accommodate me so quickly.

I have been a long standing customer and have seen multiple change of managers and owners over the years at this location (at least 4 or 5). But I have been lucky to always have a positive experience every time i have gone in and I have gotten some of my custom off road work done here too. My recent experience with Jon, the new manager, was no exception. There were some mistake that happened probably because of miscommunication or misunderstanding of the request. But Jon made it right. Good to see the tradition of good customer service continues with the new team.

I had an internal error code showing up in my car. The 1st place I went to quoted me 3k without checking what s happening. At Meineke, they advised to run a quick diagnostic to first understand the problem. They also accommodated my car in their already busy schedule and sent me continuous updates on the car. Very friendly staff and the work was done in less than 1/3rd of what was originally quoted at another place.

Disappointed that I cannot give 0 score. Spent $1500 to this break expert but ended with no break at all. The car is not drivable.

0 stars. I know for a fact that they add extra labor costs to the price of services (Employees at the SJ Hamilton location have told me this.) When confronted about this internally, the owner will fire you because thats just how they do business. This shop is the reason the stereotype of mechanics trying to get over on their customers exists. Extremely bad business practices, no integrity, no morals. DO NOT LET THEM SCAM YOU. Look at other 1 star reviews. If you feel like you are being overcharged, ITS BECAUSE YOU ARE. Better off going literally anywhere else.

Hi, my names Flyn. We use to use this shop in the past. Unfortunately, the management changed and the service went to crap. We used another shop for some time and came back to this shop in the past few months. We have two cars both over 20 years old. They are great cars but of course have issues - I had some major work done and my car and my wifes car also needed some work. Id rather spend the money on these than end up with payments. When I came back to this shop I talked to Denny and told him of my troubles with the shop in the past. He told me hed take care of us and he did! I cant give a higher recommendation for an auto shop - since Ive come back Ive been 110% pleased with how the shop has helped with repairs and keeping our cars in great shape. We have some significant experience with the shop. Its been an absolute pleasure working with Denny and this shop!!

Today 11/8/24- I came in to have my tires rotated for my 2019 Honda accord and Ben\ the manager -was very helpful in providing all my options as they normally charge $29.99 but matched a mechanic for $25. David the mechanic was very helpful in how he provided solutions for my vehicle not being so smooth on the road and let me know to have my struts and shocks checked. I am very grateful that both of them helped me and made my wait very minimal. 6/21/24- Our sales rep Benny helped us replace my one tire for a reasonable price after it was unrepairable from a nail. It took an extra day for the tire to arrive but overall the service and price was great. They always kept in touch and made sure I knew what to expect. NO SURPRISES. I will definitely come here again for further services. Thanks Ben and David for making this a simple fix. Very transparent about future prices on any issues I requested.

Meineke car care center #2296 is fantastic, they have consistently done great work for me and my auto.

TL;DR Poor service, slow, and rude. Wont be back. I had an poor experience taking my CRV and Civic in for an oil change and inspection. The last time I came, I was in and out with both cars in 1.5 hours. This time, the CRV was done in an hour. I called after 1.5 hours to check the status of the Civic and was told itd be another half hour or so. I was told to come back 15 minutes later and the younger man at the front desk said they skipped the inspection since I was in the hurry - I never asked them to do that. In fact, I drove half an hour to come here because they usually do a very thorough inspection and I told him that when I checked in. That means it took 2 hours for the Civic oil change despite having an appointment and checking in 15 minutes early. I said Id wait for the Civic inspection so I did for half an hour and it just sat there in the parking lot. Eventually I asked the older man at the front desk what was going on and he said there was no space. The younger man was polite, but the old one was very condescending to me and other customers in person and on the phone. Later when I looked under my cars hood, I noticed they didnt bother to close the air filter housing completely.

Friendly people, great service!

I had mice eat through the windshield wiper hose in multiple places on my car and made the fluid useless. I ended up just removing the hose for a few years and manually cleaned the windshield. But now, hopefully the mice are gone and Meineke fixed my windshield wiper hose assembly now and things are back to normal.

Very high prices than other car repair shops. The employees do not understand what they are doing, they try to find a fool who does not understand cars and demand huge amounts of money from him to replace parts that will still drive 10,000 miles. I do not recommend going here, avoid this place.

My daughter had a tire blowout on her while on the freeway. The guys at Meineke were super helpful in rush ordering an exact replacement tire and installing it promptly. My daughter was on her way in no time at all. Great, friendly service!

I can t recommend this Meineke location enough! I needed my brakes changed and they were able to fit me into their schedule at the last minute, which was a huge relief. Every time I need something done for my car, I always come here because they provide such reliable and professional service. I have used this Meineke for many years and have always great service from them. I had a very dead battery, I took a walk to Meineke to see if I could get somebody to give me a jump start. No questions asked, Danny walked to where my car was and jump started it at no charge. I went to the store later in the day to get my battery looked at. The battery had been bought at a different company, but Danny got me a replacement battery at no charge to me. The staff is always welcoming, very professional and I m always contacted via text message and a phone call to let me know what is going on. Work is always completed to a high standard and on time.

I needed to come here to receive an inspection for my car. I set up an appointment for Santa Clara location for 1pm, workers failed to inform me they moved from that location to Campbell one. When I called to schedule my appointment, I confirmed the Santa Clara address with Jason . When I arrived I see its a tire shop and not meineke, the worker there explained they moved and to call them to find out new location. So I called and let them know I was sent to wrong location, and was told I am the second person to point this out. When I arrived I was met by two guys at the front one being Jay who checked me in. As I waited for him to tell me how to proceed he stood there staring at me as if I was a bother to him. Jay came off as cold and standoffish, after I continued to stand there looking at him. Jay then asked my name and begins to check me in. He then asked me how much the service was, as a receptionist you should already know how much a service cost. I told him I was informed it would cost 50, which he then confirmed that as correct price. I was told it would be about 30 min to inspect my vehicle, to my surprise it only took about 5-10 minutes. When I went to turn my inspection form in I was denied due to not having an official seal and missing address on the paper. I then had to drive all the way back to Campbell to have them fix it. When I arrived I explained to Jay the seal was missing from the inspection form and that I was denied due to this, if they could add seal on to my sheet. Jay once again stared me down and didnt offer a solution. Instead another guy chimes in and says they dont do seals and they only need state certification number. Upon looking at my sheet I noticed that wasnt added on to form, and asked if they could add it. To which they did, and was told I was the only person to ever complain about not having a seal. Well sir maybe if you did your job correctly and filled out sheet correctly , I wouldnt have had to complain about your mishap. I also informed them they didnt fill out the address on the sheet either. When I asked for Jays name he hesitated to tell me and begrudgingly tells me its Jay and that its his third day at work. Well I think it might need to be his last, with his poor attitude and lack of customer service its not too late to rethink your career path. I am very dissatisfied with the level of service I received at this location overall.

I am writing to express my disappointment regarding the unprofessional experience I had at at menike auto service shop recently. Upon my arrival at the shop, I encountered an older man sitting at the counter who seemed to be the manager . Despite my presence, it took a considerable amount of time for him to acknowledge me. When he eventually turned his attention to me, his demeanor was rather unpleasant. He rudely asked for my license plate number, to which I replied that I did not have it memorized and would need to retrieve it from my vehicle. His response was condescending and unwelcoming, stating that he could not assist me if I was not prepared. After retrieving the required information and returning to the shop, I was met with continued rudeness from the man It became evident to me that my lack of knowledge about car maintenance was being met with impatience and disrespect. In contrast to my previous experiences at other auto service shops where staff members have been courteous, approachable, and diligent in documenting details, my interaction at your shop left a bad taste in my mouth because of just one man the older gentleman named Benny It is essential for customers to feel comfortable and valued when seeking services at a professional shop . Regrettably, the behavior displayed by the old Man I encountered was far from accommodating. It appeared as though my presence inconvenienced him, and his dismissive attitude was off-putting. As a result of this negative encounter, I have opted not to proceed with the services on my vehicle at your shop. Customer service plays a crucial role in the success of any business, and the lack thereof during my visit has led me to seek alternative service providers. I trust that you will address this matter appropriately to ensure that future customers do not encounter similar treatment. Called the Hamilton Ave location to ask if they check & replace car batteries. They answered the phone, answered my questions, told me how long it would take, etc. Benny and the other gentleman at the counter were delightful to talk to while I waited for my car. The boys in the shop were all super polite, and got my car done faster than I expected given how stupid the manufacture of Ford Escape batteries are. Anywho, I guess I m a loyal customer now. Made an appointment indicating I would be waiting for my car during an oil change. When I checked in the asked if I could leave my car until the afternoon, after explaining I only had 30-45 min they assured me they could do it in that time. An hour and half later I was given details of items they claimed needed attention above the oil change. I was spoken to condescendingly when asked who maintained my car. I refused any further service. I was disappointed with this experience and will not be returning.

They quickly handled my issue even though I didnt have a reservation in the morning. Really rude service, basically told us if we dont like the price they give we can screw off and go with somewhere else, was speaking to the manager when this happened. Absolutly over stating charges to tell us to leave, charging 3x the average price of other repair locations. Manager said pulled a number out of the air, if you dont like it we recommened you go with someone else

Stop looking for an auto repair shop this is the one you want! After calling my Hyundai dealership (the folks I ve been going to for years!) with an error light on my car the afternoon before the 4th of July and hearing they couldn t get me in for two weeks, I searched for a repair shop in a mild panic. I saw the Meineke Car Care Center listing after hearing a few we can t take you for a week or so comments from other repair shops. Brandon answered and quickly put me at ease. He answered my questions with kindness and knowledge and assured me that they would take me in first thing on July 5th. When I arrived, I met Benny, who was equally kind and assured me that all would be taken care of. Both are very knowledgeable men! A thread of text messages came through after I dropped my car off, giving me updates on the progress and what was going wrong with my car. Love that system! Roel was the mechanic who worked on my car. Im grateful I was able to meet him when I picked it up. He was a very kind man who offered a hello and smile, too. And, btw, an EXCELLENT mechanic! My car has not run this good for years do not hesitate to think about where to take your car GO HERE! I am moving to southern California soon and was grateful to hear there is a dealership in Escondido that is associated with this shop. I will indeed be a customer there too! My recent visit to Meineke Car Service was a bit of a letdown for a few reasons: Service Inspection Issue: They didn t do a proper inspection this time. When I asked about it, they blamed it on their system being down, which felt like a weak excuse. Price Increase: Prices have shot up by 50% since last year across the board. That caught me off guard and makes Meineke a lot pricier than it used to be. New Ownership Concerns: With the new management, there s been a gap between what they promise and what they actually deliver. Despite assurances of better service, the reality hasn t quite lived up to it. Overall, my recent experience with Meineke Car Service was disappointing. Between the lack of inspection, steep price hikes, and unfulfilled promises under new management, I don t see myself going back anytime soon.

Using Apple iPhone not able to receive call from them for job is done. Have to call to check out status. Not sure why. They used to have very kind front desk to provide very friendly services but those people seems not working there anymore.

I brought my car to Meineke for my 90k maintenance. A leak was found and fixed. A couple months later, I brought my car back to Meineke due to low tire pressure. I asked Benny to help me check if there is a leak under my car again because I noticed some oil leaking on the floor of my garage. Benny asked a technician to check and fix it at no charge without question. Benny really values the customers and treats my car like his. Thank you, Vincent.

I had to schedule to do an oil change since my car has been needing it and I was able to come in today at 7:30am. The owner was very kind and we chatted for a bit. He mentioned to me that me there were some other things that were needed for my car and even helped me get a better price compared to other shops! Definitely like the updates they send via text messaging of the status of the car and even sending photos. Definitely worth it and I plan to come again!

This is the worst place I have ever been to....who charges 76.86 for an oil change. The old Mexican dude in there is very rude. When I asked why so high and told home that my appt got canceled and it was going to cost 29.88 he told me to feel free to go there the next time! Do not patronize this place of business. It was supposed to include a tire rotation and they did not rotate my tires

I was Not happy being surprised with the grand Total! When I have gone to other places to service my vehicle, I have always gotten the Estimate on Paper where I can see the Grand Total, and Im Not caught by surprise with $1,000.00 bill!! This is Not the way to run an honest business!

I could have given a negative star they make up numbers for inspection charges, recommend unnecessary fixes and heavily markup their prices. Unusually high labor rates.. probably better than what one makes in the Tech world there are better places nearby.. try Bluetech whose quotes are less than 40% of Meineke s

reserved and scheduled time to do SOMG check in advance. been told in the shop that they can not do SMOG due to ownership change until 3 months later. this kind of situation should be prevented when I was making reservation. other than that, their services are good as usual

As we entered he almost denied the service saying its already 4. The person was very very rude and did not explain the charges for different parts. So we had to settle for mere oil change. As it was 4pm today, he was eager to reach home although the store closes at 6pm

Had to bring my wife s car for AC problems. Danny was able to help me with this problem. The mechanics did an amazing job. My wife is very happy and thats the most important thing.

Bill is always so accommodating. My starter died on me at my kids school. He recommended the Meineke tow (free within 5 miles) which saved me the cost of towing to the shop. Was able to get me in and out within 3 hrs. I was able to get the car repaired before I had to pick the kids back up, which was amazing! Thank you for the great service and rapid turn around.

I am loyal customer almos for 5 years! All of the sudden things are changed with aggressive new employee I have rav4 and they lost my wheel lock key ( original from the manufacturer) and they broke the original key and change the bolt.It is really disappointing! And they do t even apologize! Wow!! What disappointed beside the problem is. Disrespectful manager. No respect for the customer at all!!!

Quality service and nice workers!

The service manager was very unprofessional. He asked me if I wanted to do the car diagnostic test but it cost $400. Which the day before the very sweet lady said that they will do a under car check for free. And when I explained that to the manager he got mad and told me that there is nothing free here at his shop and told me to come pick up my vehicle by 2pm or he will get it towed away. I was at work so I had to leave work and had to get my mother to come pick me up from work and bring me their before 2pm. This manager needs to learn how to speak to ppl with respect. That was the worst experience I ever had with a business. But all the other employees were so nice.

Came in to get my oil changed, but got way more. They did a general inspection and let me know that I also should consider changing my filters brake fluid and ... Theyre super nice, efficient. Definitely going to be a regular there because I know theyll take care of me and my car.

I went to Meineke on Hamilton with a complex brake problem; I was met with a very honest attempt at finding the problem including a test drive could not reproduce the symptoms; this lead to a computer reading being taken from my vehicle which they were kind enough to print multiple pages and direct me to the path I needed to get the problem fixed; all free of charge. I appreciate their honesty and integrity and warm and welcoming service, thank you!

I had a fantastic experience at Meineke Car Care Center for my oil change. The staff was friendly and efficient, and the service was completed in a timely manner. The waiting area was clean and comfortable. I will definitely be returning for any future car maintenance needs. Highly recommend!

Expensive and rude personnel. They do not get the service completed within the timeframe they give you.

Either you don t train your franchisees enough for them to be comfortable with online appointment details so that they have all information we put in the reservation or they don t appreciate the online business as much.

Excellent service!

Had a leaky tire that they were able to patch within a half hour complete with some helpful info about what caused the issue and what the previous shop had done to address the issue. Quick, easy, and cheap!

My oil change went fine. Got charged $38 dollars for supposedly fixing a tire that was losing air pressure slowly. Four days later the tire is still losing air pressure :-( I told Meineke to not rotate my tires, but they did it anyway. Not the best experience I ve ever had.

They were so amazing, I came in for the check engine light as a walk in and was fit in that same afternoon. They figured out the problem and Benny went above and beyond to get everything sorted for me and find out that it should still be covered under warranty and gave me all the info I needed for taking it to the dealership. Very personable and professional, very trustworthy. I m converted to using them for my future needs and highly recommend them!

My experience is very different from last! They have a new person who suggested work that wasnt needed coming up with a quote for $1,500. Luckily a second revision by a more honest and ethical person reviewed the work order and only did the work that was needed making the final cost reasonable. I have left other mechanics in the past for being dishonest charging me for work that its not needed or not done at all! I hope the owner of this shop reads this review and evaluates who he hires because having dishonest people is only going to affect his business in the long run. I may or may not return to this shop if I dont trust the person taking the orders and lying pushing for jobs that are unrequited. Unethical!

3/23/23 -Great quality workers who problem solve and get the job done within in the time they promise! I switched from Wheel Works to Meineke! Just recently visited on 2/15/24 for an oil chg. And I got a whole inspection on my car Which I did not ask for, only to make sure the brakes where ok. Benny helped me at the desk Very new associate to the store, not too sure if I want to go back at this point. I told him I thought normally when they do an oil chg they would come back and ask if the customer would like to verify if they should chg the filters for you as well. Buy Benny at the time of service said, that they didnt have time to do that and i would have to make another appointment to have that done. Really not good customer service. My car was not leaking oil before the oil change but it is now! 2/20/24 I went back to meineke and spoke to the owners Jon and Heather and they solved and presented all the needs that my car would need. They are fabulous people. Rest assured I know I can count on this meineke car center to fix problems correctly. Thank you so much for speaking with me.

Yet another car business that takes a look at the customer, sees that shes a woman, and tries to rip her off. Yep...came in for an oil change and before theyd even turned the car on to move it theyd found over 1900 dollars worth of problems...and I needed my wheels aligned and my tires balanced...all this just from looking at my car as it sat waiting for its turn for an oil change....took my car to a real mechanic ...one that actually is more than a glorified jiffy lube...and that treats people with respect... A1 Tire in Santa Clara ...and surprise I had NONE of the problems meinike said I did...so either they rip off senior citizens and women or they steal from every one and you should not go there

The meineke car care 4701 Hamilton avenue San Jose ca they refused to oil change service because of I repaired the previous recommenced to other cars repair Center.they also refused to tire rotation.the customer service was very poor and unprofessional

Fast professional friendly

Fixing a tire on Saturday early morning can be a challenge, unless you know about this place. I came as soon as it opened and was welcomed by the manager. I was able to get my car fixed asap and managed to return to my Saturday original plans. I can t thank you enough team Meineke.
