I called this shop looking for a place that could service an older car’s AC system, and they didn’t disappoint! Bill answered the phone and let me know they’d be able to take a look and see if I had any issues. I dropped my car off the following day and they had it for only a few hours - they were able to completely test my system for leaks and recharge it, it had already been converted to a newer refrigerant by the previous owner (which I had no idea of). Bill was able to tell just by looking at the system that it had been converted! The work that was done was quick, high quality, and very well priced. My AC is blowing nice and cold, and the compressor doesn’t shut off randomly anymore. Thank you so much!

This is what car shop experience should be like - High quality work, respectful and friendly attitude, fair and reasonable pricing. The only shop I could find to evacuate the old R12 refrigerant from my 1991 vehicle turned out a treasure hidden somewhere in San Carlos, CA :) Hope they stay in business forever. Thank you William!
Calvin and his business have renewed my faith in quality, honest, and professional auto shops. I took our ageing van there for an oil change and to look into fixing the air conditioning. Overnight Calvin had changed the oil and done a thorough investigation of the AC system. Long story short, enough of the system was in critical shape that a full repair would likely cost more than the worth of the vehicle. I'm extremely appreciative of the honest diagnosis and highly recommend Howard Ave Radiator.
These gentlemen are very honest! AC was not blowing out cool air in my 2004 VW Passat, so I asked Bill to check whether the Freon was low. It turned out the Freon level was OK, but the electronic(s) needed attention from VW dealership. They only charged a extremely low price for their service. I am thankful.
These guys are the masters! They can repair pretty much any radiator fast and cheap. Sometimes there's a problem later but that's unavoidable in the automotive industry and these guys do their best to be very thorough. 5 stars, thumbs up, love these guys! Great old school atmosphere too!
'92 GMC Suburban (now 200,000 miles and still going strong) with busted radiator; they enstalled a new one in a couple of hours. Price was fair, staff was nice. Radiator still fully functional 100%... that was four years ago! Now my heater core has plugged up. I'm going back to them; and I live in San Jose! :)
Dropped off an old worn out radiator from by Sunbeam Tiger resto project. The staff were friendly and kept me informed on the scope of the job. Picked up a beautifully refurbished radiator; I could hardly recognize it. Can't wait to drop it in my car!
