Weve used Lecter Brothers for mostly routine service on our two cars. They are trustworthy local professionals: honest, fair and excellent in client response/communication, problem diagnosis, repair and scheduled service.

Jeanette, Mike, and the whole team at Letcher Bros are amazing. We have bringing our cars to them for 20+ years and they have never done us wrong. We currently own four cars, including a VW Eurovan which need extra special attention. They are the best in the industry especially when it comes to Audi and VW. Needed to have two new tires on my 2001 Mercedes C240. During last service check-up, they advised me to check tires periodically because it was close for new ones. Thats the great thing about Letcher Bros. Auto Shop. They dont tell you a repair/replacement needed until its actually required. Wonderful experience with this business. They were quick to respond to a request for an appointment and were flexible with drop off and pick up around the appointment. They were transparent about pricing and quick to complete the service of evaluating our air condition in our Ford Escape. When picking up the car they were so easy to speak with and quick to address a question that was raised about an additional adjustment. I tried to order a replacement for the drivers side mirror on my car, but was unsuccessful. There were too many mirrors and I didnt know which one to order so I stopped by Letcher Bros. and Mike Letcher worked his magic and ordered the right mirror and it arrived the same day. A few hours later, he put it on and I was able to drive with all my safety mirrors intact. Once again, Letcher Bros. saved the day. My experience with Letcher Bros. Auto Repair was excellent. They were very professional and friendly. I went there to get an oil change and get an estimate for a water pump work as well as the 90K mile recommended for my car. For the water pump, I asked for the photos and they did not hesitate to provide them. They immediately detected the issue and provided an estimate. They understood that I was going to stay to wait for my car oil change and quickly worked on it and I was outta there in no time. I do plan to return to get the water pump fixed. Keep up the good work, guys!

I have used Letcher Bros. since I owned my first car over 15 years ago. They have never given me bad advice, their technicians are knowledgeable and friendly. They have amazing work ethic, and their prices are fair for the quality of work they produce. I have had the opportunity to watch them grow from a small business located about a block away from their current location to a significantly larger operation with many cars passing through their gates every day. Many times, the owner has personally worked on my old MK2 Volkswagen with a passion that many people reserve for their own cars, helping me to pass emissions tests numerous times with an almost arcane knowledge of just how much to adjust things like air-fuel ratio by hand and sound alone. His team has also installed coilovers and rebuilt my entire engine when the timing tensioner snapped. Keeping that car on the road for well beyond 200,000 miles. Just recently, I have taken my newer Subaru to them to have the AC serviced and they completed the service (replacing an O-Ring in the upper lines) within a couple of hours. My AC blows cold now and will be welcomed by my wife for this summer.

I have an older Mini Cooper that had a warning light sensor fail on one tire for tire pressure. I had been driving around with the problem because it seemed too small to take it in just for that. I developed a 2nd warning light for a different issue. They tried several different fixes for the second problem (replacing sensors, replacing parts, testing etc.) but ultimately were unable to resolve the issue as it appears to be a programming issue and will have to go to the dealer. They did not charge me for any of the fixes and they did replace the tire pressure sensor and didnt charge me for that either. They were very friendly, honest and helpful. As a single woman, being able to trust my auto mechanic is the #1 thing. They treated with with respect and I will be back.

UPDATE: MY CAR IS NOW TOTALLY USELESS! Took my car here for breaks and an oil change. Parked the car afterwards in my garage and went on vacation. No one drove it. Came back, started the car and heard a loud noise. Two weeks later it started making the noise louder and louder and stopped uphill. Took it back to check and they said it s a transmission problem. I told them the car was running smoothly with no problems before the break service. The estimate they gave me exceeds the cost of the car. I don t know what happened but my trust is broken. This is my only car and I m a mom. I had no car payment, now I have to spend money because the car won t drive or accelerate up any incline. The way this suddenly happened makes me question whether something was done to my car.

I had the catalytic converter stolen from my vehicle and the employees at Letcher Bros. Auto Repair couldnt have been more compassionate about helping me fix my car. They put a new catalytic converter in for a very reasonable price, a very seamless and (relatively) pleasant experience. Wish I could give six stars!

I took my Kia Van into this place on 8-2-2022 to have an estimate done because my Catalytic Converter was stolen, upon my arrival I received a warm welcome with excellent courtesy and compassion for my need . I do plan to do business with this company in the near future . Excellent Customer service!

Below is my first review. But my subsequent visit made me unsure about the honesty of this place. I brought a Lexus in to have the air conditioning recharged. When I came to pick it up, they said it was leaking coolant from a broken radiator outlet pipe, where the hose is connected. It didnt leak when I brought it in, so it was certain that the very young mechanic broke it. Then they tried to get me to pay $500 to repair it. If they would have said that is was brittle and got bumped or something I might have understood it was simply old, but they tried to cover it up. Im also a mechanic, so Im not easily fooled. I felt their assertive defensiveness meant they would next get angry and make a conflict if I said anything further. I just quietly will not go back there. They may be good most of the time, but I just cant trust them They did a complex diagnostic that another shop couldnt do and didnt charge any extra to reset the computer and all the systems. I thought I would be into this repair for several hundred dollars as an honest cost, but I got out for an amazing $156. Their shop is clean and new and upscale, well above average.

They diagnosed a water leak on my car as a failing water pump and waived the diagnostic fee when I authorized the repair. Theyre very communicative and straightforward about the repair, costs, and timelines and happily answered my questions about what parts they use for repairs. They also provided me with a free lyft ride home, which was a great plus

Its really good place to come to. Really helped me out in a jam. Had my car towed there after learning I had a bad starter. They were able to service and replace it same day!! They were all very polite. They even changed a brakelight that was out.

This is a very busy shop and usually requires advanced appointments but when my car broke down they let me tow it there and repaired it much sooner than expected at a price much lower than expected

I called Letcher Brothers based off a recommendation from my mechanic, since they were fully booked. After calling them, they provided me with a quote for a new AC Compressor, parts and labor within a few minutes, and their availability was excellent, about 7-10 days out. They did a great job, the AC blows cold, and thoroughly answered questions I had about the service. Overall, excellent job, would definitely recommend them to anyone seeking a great repair experience!

Friendly front office staff, got a complimentary Lyft ride back after dropping off our cars for cat cage installation. Me and friend got catalytic cage installed in our Prius. Hopefully this will deter anyone trying to profit off our catalytic converter. They were able to install in four hours.

Biggest joke of a shop there is. I have Took my car in because it was over heating spent $2,000 to fix but yet I m in there ever month with the same issue they charge me ever time and say nothing wrong with it. Don t waste your time or money there. They don t fix anything right the first time.

My wife and I had the transmission rebuilt by Letcher Bro. They also sent the torque converter out to be rebuilt. The transmission has NEVER shifted correctly and after taking it back three times to get it fixed we gave up. Paid a little over 8K and now the transmission has given out again, very disappointing and dissatisfied with their service, response and workmanship. Gave away 8K for nothing!!!

I gave it a 3 since they made me pay for a technician to diagnose what I told them the problem is. Therefore the price was $150 higher.

Good experience as usual with Letcher. They were quick to respond to my service request and set up a day/time. On the day, they quickly took all the necessary information and shuttled me home. An hour later, I had a full and clear estimate of the work to be done, and upon my approval, the work was done by the end of the day, including major recommended service interval, front and rear brakes, and new battery, and a few other minors fixes. Probably could have gotten brakes and battery slightly cheaper by shopping around, but the convenience of one-stop shopping was worth paying a minor premium. Will continue to patronize Letchers.

Great customer service, I was on a road trip today to Nevada, and I got my low air message, as I headed to my destination I passed by this auto shop and was attended too imidiatially, the manager was able to accommodate me with a comp air-fill for my tires that where very low. The best mechanic in the area, without question - they took great care of my car and diagnosed a really tricky issue for a great price. Everyone was incredibly nice, very helpful and very easy to get ahold of to get updates. Wouldnt take my car anywhere else

Honest reliable service. In the 10 years I have been doing business with them I have always had a great experience. I have moved to the North Bay but still bring my vehicles here for service because I know I don t have to worry that I will have to question the integrity of their work.

I highly recommend Letcher Bros. They provide first-rate customer service from front office management through technicians, mechanics, and shuttle service. Friendly, honest, expert work. Plan in advance for an appointment as they book up quickly, as those with a spirit of excellence often do! (To put it in perspective, I am a lazy person who hates driving like I hate hell, but I would cross a bridge for these people. {audible gasp from everyone Ive ever met} I know! For real.)

I was very excited to have my 2000 Jaguar serviced here, as I had heard good things. It took almost a week to get an appointment, which wasnt a huge problem. I was told that I needed a new starter, and had the work done. While driving home, I immediately found a new issue where my car cut off while idling at stop lights twice. I called them to let them know and was told that the computer needed to reset itself. Well it has been awhile now, and the problem is still going on. Not only that, but now I have a check engine light that has come on. This car has been garage kept, and taken care of very well over the years despite its age. The problem with the start was the first one I had since I owned the car. Also a side note, I was not too happy to find my car parked a block down San Pablo Avenue when I went to pick it up.

Mike (t)he owner) was very accommodating and knowledgeable. He and his shop handled themselves, and my car, very professionally. If I ever need service when I am in the area again, I will definitely be coming back!

Phenomenal Customer Service. Would highly recommend Letcher Bros. Auto Repair. Great ownership, comfortable waiting area, quick/timely service. Greeted promptly by friendly & receptive staff member. Transport service offered to and from work. Had an unusual situation with my car, which they immediately took care without question. Also, needed a quick repair on back light, which they fixed immediately. While I was waiting, listening to staff member on phone, they were courteous, patient and very helpful.

Both Mike Letcher and BJ have treated me very well. They have been up front and EXTREMELY fair with the repair bills. I looked up the price of parts if I were to do the repairs myself and found I could not buy the parts for the price they were able to buy and install. The workmanship is very good and my car (BMW 745i) runs terrific after they complete the work.
