This place was so wonderful, i ended up here after my old ford was having issues on a cross country trip. The knowledge, kindness and swiftness was greatly appreciated. I was in and out with a new to me (used) transmission in two days. I am so grateful I ended up at Gar’s transmission.

These folks are absolute experts. I was in hobble mode on my Jeep and they cleared the computer immediately allowing me to get back on the road. They really know their stuff and I trust them.

What a shame and disappointment. I honestly thought this shop was legit and honest. I had took my truck in about a year ago so they can reprogram the transmission control module to my truck and did a great job. A little over a month ago I took in to them to get a transmission oil change and everything went smooth.. so I thought. After leaving the shop for the next 3 weeks when I change gears it would be a little hard on the shifter. But didn’t think nothing of it. One day, I made a quick stop at the store, got off, and when I came back the truck would not move at all it was stuck on park. So I had to get it towed to there shop. After I got it there, I explained what had happened and they told me they would take a look at it. A few hours later they told me all this bull crap about the transmission… long story short they told me it would cost me 3500 to repair it they went to show me the transmission fluid and it was super dark. That’s when I knew they where laying because I had checked the fluid when that problem occurred and it looked exactly the same as to when I took it in the first time to get the transmission fluid changed. I told them I will have another mechanic take a look at it and called the towing company. So they got mad and told me they would not release my truck until I payed the 170 for a diagnose. I payed them there money. After getting the problem fixed and also speaking to several mechanics about my situation. Every single one of them told me that it didn’t make sense and they where obviously trying to get a lot more money out of me. Now I’m not saying they don’t know what there doing. But it’s sad how they pick and chose there victims. so if you never had them service your vehicle. I wouldn’t recommend you taking your vehicle there.

Had them regear my car, pick it up was leaking fluid, took it back they “fixed” it, turns out it was still leaking, dropped the car off for a 3rd time and when driving home my head gaskets went bad, had to have a the engine replaced. Called them they said there’s nothing they can do. DO NOT EVER GO HERE

Honest and honorable people who do great work!! I should NOT have had warranty coverage because I didn't follow the checkup schedule, but Gars stood by their work anyway and paid for repairs!! I'm still kind of in shock. Gars rebuilt my 1996 Dodge 2500 46RE after it failed catastrophically about 18 months ago. During the job, their customer service was excellent. I paid $6500 for a complete rebuild, upgraded torque converter, new catalytic converter, and some electrical diagnostics. I was very happy with their work, and they gave me one of their t-shirts for spending so much! Since they're ATRA certified, all of their trans work is warrantied (if you follow the maintenance/checkup schedule, which I didn't). My van drove like new for about 25k miles before the torque converter started to fail. I took it to a shop on the east coast, and I called Gars when they found brass in the pan. Gars worked with them and paid out about $1300, which they weren't obligated to do! I continue to wear their t-shirt with pride!

Highly recommended! Very honest, kind, and knowledgeable people. They gave me honest advice, which meant that they lost $3200, by recommending that I trade in my car instead of going through with the repairs. Additionally, they offerred me the option of calling them to ask for "car advise" when I was ready to purchase my next vehicle. Lastly, the quoted price was very reasonable for the work needed. I was quoted $1800 more for the same job , by another mechanic.
