Avoid this place like the plague! I drove two hours down from Bay Area after topping off my tire so I could attend a funeral in Monterey. The tire held pretty well, but had a slow leak (dropped few PSI after the drive). I requested to get my tire fixed - they pulled my car in, and then a bit later back out stating they could not repair. I went back to the car and the tire was hissing, and then went flat! I told the guy he screwed me and left me stranded. The owner absolutely did not care and after some choice words from me, he basically ignored me. I’ve never experienced anything like this. Horrible experience - not someone you can trust.
I stoped in to Pacific Grove tire and service by Goodyear. I had a puncture in my tire on 1/26, they said they couldn’t repair/plug my tire and they recommended 2 new tires due to puncture too close to sidewall and poor tread depth. I want them know that these tires were less than a year old, under 10k miles and still under warranty for road hazards which they wouldn’t help me with. I went and saw the puncture. It was not near the sidewall like they had stated why they couldn’t repair. Poor business ethics, I drove to another local shop where they repaired the puncture easily. Trying to take advantage to of me while traveling, shame on your management. Thanks Peninsula Tire for your honesty and speedy work in a pinch.
Super honest and fast! I asked for a new tire but they told me I didn’t need one and filled my tires at no charge. Really appreciate their service and honesty!
Brought in my car for an oil change. They were quick to greet me and show me the check-in process. They had my car done quick! It's a big shop with lots of tire options. Nice to find a local shop as the options have been thinning out over the years.
I am from Michigan and bought my daughter a set of tires here and I was impressed with their service and treated with the utmost respect. The price I was quoted on the phone was the same when i paid up. These guys were cheaper than Costco by $150 so give them a try.
Five stars for performing a Christmas Miracle Hundreds of miles away from home on a family road trip, wife and kids in the car, and me on the side of the road on a rainy December morning changing a flat tire I called three different tire shops that morning, something about Don's voice and personality over the phone that made me drive the extra miles and back track to their shop,.. and boy oh boy, am I'm happy and grateful that we did! Despite having a less popular tire size, and over packed Subaru, James was still somehow about to perform a Christmas miracle and get us all back on the road safely Thanks to James and Don, we were able to get home safely and if that wasn't enough they did it all while making our family feel like theirs
I've been going here for about 4 years. Never once had a problem. As a matter of fact they saved me about $600 compared to the dealer quote one time. Don's just an old-school type of dude and people get a little thin skinned about it is all. When it comes down to $$ and quality of work I highly recommend.
Stay away from this shop! For over 15 years I was a happy customer of this shop: professional and reliable job, good and honest service and fair prices. Last Saturday I brought my car there because of a sudden water leaking. Unfortunately, the old manager, Don, was no longer there, and the new manager immediately told me (from his desk) that it was a very costly repair job of the heating ($880 for eight hour work, plus parts). Foolishly trusting the manager that he had some idea about cars, I agreed. I also agreed to pay $55 for diagnostics, to be removed once the shop did the job. The VERY GOOD mechanic walked with me to the car and on the way explained to me that the problem could not have been with the heating, since it was a Toyota, so it must have been something else. According to his diagnostics, the problem was with the water pump. So they charged me $149.95 for a (new?) water pump that costs $29 - $45 ( I checked), and also charged me $55 for diagnostics, despite the fact they the manager told me differently. It was a rip off. Don’t repeat my mistake.
