Needed new rotors and brake pads on my Acura TL as my brakes were pulsating when I braked going downhill. I had an estimate at another nearby repair shop that it would cost $550. I called First Choice and they said bring it in right away. I did...and 3 hours later I picked the car up. The cost $360. FAST and excellent work. And theyre just a block away from MacArthur BART Station. Fantastic. This really is as good as it gets.

My car broke down last week no start. I called around shops no one was available take me same day found first choice auto repair in Google. Guy name prab answer phone I told him my situation about my car. He was so nice got me in same day. An hour later my car was dropped off to them. they called me, they found my starter went out car wasnt starting. He quoted me very good price parts and labor for my Honda CR-V. Got my car back on road same day. Very happy with their work and customer service. Very friendly honest mechanic. Now my car due for brake job.i am going back next week.

I have been going to these guys for a few years, for my 2007 prius, 2015 prius, and honda fit. Each time, they have been helpful in checking out the issue (I have had my catalytic converter stolen three times, tires flat due to pot holes and battery issues) and then quoting me a fair price and repairing it quickly. Im grateful they are close to bart so i can bart home after dropping off my car too. They have helped me install shield and rebar cage to prevent further catalytic converters from being stolen. They are very knowledgeable about cars and generously answer any questions I have on the phone and in person. I feel comfortable and grateful for their service. Thanks prahab and jeet!

Had a very pleasant experience the first time and have now returned for various work on both my Lexus s. Prab was professional, gave accurate time estimate and has a very fair price. I used to go to the dealer but now I trust Prab and only let him work on my cars. I have had my breaks, tires and a coolant leak fixed by Prab and every time I have been satisfied. It s hard to find a good honest mechanic, I m happy to have found this place.

Prab was a life saver. My alternator went out on my way home from Oakland. Prab was courteous and began working on my truck right away, even though I did not have an appointment. He worked efficiently and had me in and out in a few hours.

Glad I found this mechanic on Yelp. I chose it because of the high 4.5 star rating. They are fair and honest. Thats everything I want when choosing a mechanic. I came in for an oil change and brake replacement. Luckily, they squeezed me in their schedule. I was able to leave the car there for half a day and enjoy the rest of my Saturday by Ubering away. The price was fair and they explained everything before charging the costs. It is never fun to shell out money on car maintenance, but when you do, you want the mechanics to do a great job. Im highly satisfied with this place and it will definitely be my first choice. Im someone who likes to sleep in on weekends so it was perfect that they were open on a weekend and later than most other mechanics.

My Prius was having squeaking sound from the rear brakes and the dealership quoted over $2000 for a whole replacement of the rear brake system. Someone stole my catalytic converter from my 2009 Prius. I was calling around I found first choice auto repair. Luckily they had catalytic converter in stock got me in shop same day. Was able to finish my car next day. I was so stressed out this only car I use for daily. Also I was having some problems with brakes they took care that fixed everything. I usually don t write reviews but this one they deserve it. I am very glad I found them, in future I will be coming back if it need any more work. Highly recommend

They had the cheapest quote after calling around some other mechanic shops in the area, had my front brake pads and rotors replaced and rear brakes adjusted. Prab also generously replaced a rear brake light for free, without me even asking. Needed a bit more work after that to cut down on vibration while braking (machined rear drums). Now everything is running smoothly! I used to walk past this place every day on my way to BART, never thought of taking my car here because it looked so dingy. Went here today to fix a shim and was told I needed my brakes completely replaced. I agreed because my car was boxed in by others at the shop but, shortly after I checked my records and saw that my brake pads and rotors were replaced by Ford eight months ago. As such, I asked for the parts back to place a warranty claim. Attached is the photo of the pads that were pulled from my car. As you can see, they are all worn only halfway. Clearly a short sighted scam shop. Buyer beware. Also, this place charged me 20% more than average for a legitimate brake job.

I found these guys from google. I needed brakes on my car I called lots of places for price but first choice gave me the best price. I asked the guys at first choice showed me what was wrong with my brakes before they did any work. After an hour first choice called me I want to see what was wrong and what parts they were going to replace and they explained why I were getting vibration when braking and also a noise. I m very impressed these guys finished my car same day. After I picked up my car I went for drive to see how brakes are working and I don t hear any noise and I m not getting vibration. For their honesty and quick brake work I will give these guys 10 stars . I will be back for more work in future. Thank you first choice auto repair.

I m glad to give a five star rating to 1st Choice Auto Repair. My experience has been consistently excellent since the first time I found them many years ago. They have worked on four of our cars over the years and they kept them all road worthy, right up to my last visit, one week ago. 1st Choice has always been frank about the existing condition of the cars, but also fair in pricing for repairs. I couldn t ask for more professional mechanics to work on my cars.

My car noped out on me as I was driving home, and this was the closest place for me to make it safely. And boy, am I glad!!! I arrived at the end of the work day and they took me in, did a quick check (e.g. no way I was heading home in my car that evening) and agreed to take my car in and said theyd reach out to me the next morning with a more detailed prognosis. They did (inclusive of pictures and the multitude of problems my car had -- I hadnt changed my brakes in years), and they offered to fix it up that same day. Picked up my car near the end of the next day and the car hasnt driven like this in years! Things that have been weird in my car for years are now gone, as well as the obvious emergency situation. And the price was more than fair considering all the things the car needed. Im extremely happy that they were the closest option for me when I was on hazards on the highway. Very impressed by this shop! And even though I live a good 40 minutes away, Id not hesitate to go back here if my car starts failing again. Thank you!!!

First choice auto repair was amazing. They are no-nonsense and honest. They dont try to nickle and dime you. The bumper came off my car after I reversed over jagged piece of concrete and they reattached it for $250. Other body shops wanted me to buy a brand new bumper for thousands of dollars. So glad I found them. They were referred to me by a friend.

Pram was helpful, kind, fair, and was able to fit me in and replace my brake pads and rotors quickly and efficiently. He gave good advice for other car troubles I have and I highly recommend his shop.

My Jeep had the engine light on and I was having trouble finding a mechanic to see it the same day. First Choice Auto Repair got me in and was able to quickly diagnose multiple issues (sensor, shocks, oil tank filter cap all needed replacing). They got the work done within a couple days and the car is driving like new again! The dealer had a two week delay just for an appointment plus one of the parts was back ordered. I m happy I found this family owned business and was able to get the work done quickly and for a great value. Would come again if I had another car issue.

Really terrible experience with this shop unfortunately. They lost the alarm remote for my car, and the bumper that they replaced was totally crooked. I had to come back a second time to fix it, and even then they couldn t manage to figure it out. I appreciate replacing my alarm remote, But this feels like a bare minimum.

Without question this is one of the best experiences Ive had with auto repair and maintenance. They are the cheapest and fastest auto repair shop in entire bay area. I go there every time to service my all vehicles and never been disappointed with there service. Price is also below average what I see in internet. Excellent service!!!

If I could give this place zero stars I would. I had recently purchased a van and took it to them to get te brake pads fixed and anything else that needed it and told them I was going on a road trip. I specifically told the guy several times to please check everything out and he looked me in the eye and shook on it. Well several hundred miles down the road I hear a clicking every time I brake. Took it to another shop in temecula and the guy showed me the underside of the van - the calipers were completely busted in the back and the back brake pads had not been changed - but the worst part of all was that both back tires were ready to blow!! They looked fine from the outside and had plenty of tread but I guess they were just very old and the guys at First Choice didnt mention any of this to me and they had to have seen them. Unfortunately I cant even ask for my money back since technically they did fix my brake pads and I have nothing in writing but this was a very dangerous situation!!! I dont know if the guy was just lazy or what but if I had anything in paperwork I would absolutely have the right to sue and I strongly suggest you do not give them your business!!!!

I drive 2007 Toyota Highlander. My brakes were making grinding noise. I found first choice with high rating. they took me in without any appointment got my brakes fixed same day with very reasonable price. Jeet and prab two brother run this place very friendly guys. My timing belt was due.I went back to replace it for the 2nd time very reasonable price. I am happy because I got the work done on time and does not have any problems. Love this shop and recommend to everyone.

Always had good experiences here. Friendly and fast. Prices always seem super reasonable. And theyve always got my car up and running great when theres been an issue. There are no pretend fees or extra add on services that you dont need, like some mechanics can trick you with.

I called them couple days before 4th of July. Every other places seems to be booked and very expensive. They took me right away to change oil. Nice coffee shop and new restaurant right next to. You can grab a pizza while waiting for your car. Guys working at the car shop very friendly. Prices very reasonable. Definitely coming back to change my breaks soon.

Amazing shop started coming here 2011 for first car VW Passat well taken care as complicated as German cars are they were deligent in there work and have my car great care every time. second car Chrslsyer 300 well taken care of as well small services as well as major ones were no brained for the guys here. Still coming in for my third car challenger they have done great work on alignment and brand new tire changes.

Experienced mechanics, good estimates and pricing, friendly, and very honest. I have been getting my Lexus serviced here for a couple of years now. Besides fluid changes and tune-ups (computer diagnostics etc), they have changed struts, brakes, and tires for me. Excellent work and the best pricing I could find. While they do get busy, they have been able to accommodate me at short notice as well. I see no reason to go elsewhere.

Friendly, affordable, great service

I recently broke my foot and have been dealing with a ton of nonsense and difficulty as a result. The last thing I needed was my car to start making a noise I never heard before. Still, when you hear something that doesnt sound good, its always better to be safe than sorry when youre dealing with a car. I had one day off to get to my car looked at, and due to other errands I did not arrive to First Choice until the afternoon; I had a feeling of dread that there was no chance they would be able to help me on the same day, especially considering how busy the shop looked. When I pulled in, after about a minute of waiting, one of First Choices mechanics (and lifesavers), Prab, introduced himself and asked how he could help. I told him that with every rotation of my tire, I kept hearing a noise. I did not know much else, except that my brakes were redone recently. Prab stopped what he was doing to give it a once over, then volunteered to take it around the block to better hear the noise. He heard what I was talking about, and told me that he would do his best to diagnose and fix the problem sometime today. I was excited by his declaration, but still kept my hopes down thinking I would get a call later stating he didnt have time. Around 530pm that day, I received a call from Prab telling me my wheel was loose, and that after he tightened it, the noise went away. I still have no idea how this happened, but if Prab did not take the time to check out my car, something very tragic could have occurred as a result. In addition, Prab could have easily made up some nonsense about labor, parts, inspections, or work done, and I would not have known the difference. If he wanted to con me, he could have charged me an extremely high price because I would not really have had an argument against it. Instead, he asked for $20. $20 measly dollars for taking the time to put it up on his lift, take off the wheel, examine everything, and drive it around again to hear how it sounded. This was all done with no appointment or knowledge of me coming. It may seem like standard service, but I can assure you that in this day and age, this is actually quite exceptional. Prab actually cared enough to do what he could and stick to his word. As a result, I will be very happy to give him my future business going forward.
