I usually take my cars here for oil changes, but never again. Went this morning and all 3 bays were full, plus 1 car waiting on each bay. They had me pull into bay 3 and said they were finishing up the car they were working on and would be done in 5 minutes. 10 minutes goes by and they are still working on that car. The car in bay 1 finished and pulled out, and the car waiting pulled in. I'm still waiting in bay 3 for another 10 minutes and no movement. A new car pulls up to bay 1 and parks. The car that is in bay 1 is now done and they pull out, so the employee has the car in front of me at bay 3 pull over to bay 1 and they have me pull over to bay 2. The car that arrived after me goes over to bay 3 and within 5 minutes gets to pull into the bay. I call the employee over and ask why they got to go when I was here before them. He didnt have an answer (clueless kid) and said he would tell the manager. The manager comes out (looks like an 18 year old kid, who is the same one that told me the original wait would be 5 minutes) and also had no clue why they took that car before me that arrived AFTER me. He then proceeded to say it was because they are short staffed. What does short staffed have to do with taking cars out of order? I was then told to pull to bay 1 and it would be 5 minutes. 5 minutes goes by and still waiting so I just left. Get your crap together.
These guys did a great job. They seemed to work cohesively as a team and mitigated errors by calling out each completed step in their checklist. This service far exceeded my expectations. They truly earned 5 stars.
They've done very well for me in the past, but today I called and asked What the mileage was the last time I got an oil change. I gave them first Name, last name, spelled my last name, they asked what state I was in so I said California, they didn't bring up any records. They asked for the Vin. So I ran down to the car read off the Vin. She Read it back to me, but couldn't find my records. She asked me to read the vin again, but I was already back upstairs. I don't know what the interval is, at this particular place, for my car. I have a notification on my dash that maintenance is required. According to the sticker in my windshield, I still have 1500 miles to go. Anyway, couldn't get the information I needed for some reason. I'll just go somewhere else who I can count on to keep records.

My husband took my car to be serviced for an oil change today but after returning home, upon further inspection, my windshield wiper fluid & coolant was not topped off. My coolant was pretty low overall. The invoice shows that my coolant was checked & at “ok” levels. I called to make my concerns known & the first person I spoke to said that all my fluids should have been topped off, but the second person (within their actual customer service) told me that they marked it as “ok” & if they thought it was low they would have let the driver know but in the end we’re the ones responsible for the vehicle. I honestly couldn’t believe he said that to me, considering I worked for a short time at valvoline myself & we were trained to always make sure the fluids were topped off (as the first person told me). Oh, also can’t forget how they had to jumpstart my car after the service was completed (due to unrelated issues to valvoline) & they left my entire negative battery cap off & set it on another part of my car under the hood. Thankfully it was still there when my dad was checking under the hood. I just can’t believe the service was this terrible. Certainly not worth 100+ dollars. Overall terrible experience.
I’m heading to Vegas tomorrow morning. I have a diesel and would be towing a trailer to a work function. My oil light came on so I swung in to get my oil changed Sunday afternoon before the trip. I asked them to also change my fuel filters (Big mistake) they struggled for what seemed like an hour to remove the upper one. Once it was changed out we primed and started the truck the technician (Austin) was standing near the engine bay while the engine was running. He told me that all was well and thanked me for using Valvoline. At the very first light I came to when I stepped on my brakes the pedal was hard and I had to use the emergency brake to stop the truck before I rear ended the car in front of me. Turns out that during the fuel filter change they broke a vacuum manifold nipple that was tied to my braking system. It is VERY OBVIOUS when the truck is running and the hood is open that there is a large vacuum leak. Not only did they not refund the almost $500 dollars that they charged they were indifferent on getting the damage repaired. I would recommend doing it yourself before taking your vehicle here even if you’ve never done it before. Wish I could give less than 1 star.
Took my car for a simple oil change my car had no problems whatsoever before. The employee cracked my oil filter housing still waiting for a reimbursement or small claims court n bad reviews.i got a response from their media to explain again through email to Jamie still waiting i even lost 4 days of work and i didn’t ask for that recompense yet. By law i have to wait 30 days before i go small claims
I came to do an oil change and tire rotation here yesterday. The man that helped me was very friendly and helpful. But idk who actually finished with my tires but they did not put my rim covers back on correctly. Both my front covers. One came off already and almost caused an accident. I added pictures for reference. Just be careful guys. Always double check that everything is done correctly. This could’ve killed someone!
I ve never been here before today, and I can t think of a time I ve ever gone to a drive in oil change place we usually go to the dealership or the hubby does this chore, so this was a new experience for me. It was a very pleasant experience actually. Between the professional and polite staff, and the system they have down for working through the vehicles needs quickly, I was very impressed. Mateo was especially helpful, but overall everyone I interacted with was great. As a woman by myself today going to a mechanic , I felt treated well and I ll definitely go back.
Please DO NOT GO to this Valvoline if you own a Toyota Truck or SUV.

They recommend a transmission service so I said okay they wasted 1 hour of my time to tell me they don t have the tools for a service they recommended. They were taking stuff off and I wouldn t be surprised if they damaged something. It s just ridiculous that now I have to take it to a different shop to make sure they did not damage anything or drain fluid that was not replaced!!!

Every time I come to this location the experience leaves me disappointed. First time, they spill oil all over, so when I go home it leaks oil all over the garage floor. Took it back to make sure there wasnt a problem, and they cleaned it up but said I was good to go. Second time, take it home and it smells like burning oil throughout my garage and house, plus oil all over the floor of the garage. Had to take it back, and they found that there was an issue with how the filter was put on. They replaced the filter again and offered me a 15% coupon for my future visit (mind you I can get a 15% coupon online so they didnt give me anything really for all the trouble time and hassle.) Go in today, my 3rd oil change with this location, and it takes an hour and a half, mind you Im just the 3rd car in line for my line. The lines next to me got cars moved out super quickly, 3 cars that arrived after me all got helped before me, but mine kept getting ignored. This place is a joke, and I do not recommend.

Started coming here last year. Conveniently located and affordable. Im not sure what happened since then, but my last two visits here were astronomically poor. 2 hours for a simple oil change, terrible communication from the staff, plenty of staff but not a single one moving with a sense of purpose despite the line being wrapped around the building. The young gentleman working on my car LEFT IN THE MIDDLE OF MY SERVICE. I had to shout from my window after 10 minutes of just sitting there to find out what was happening. Someone else finished my service. I will not be returning.
My go to oil change spot. No matter how busy they are, the staff is so patient, kind & still cracks jokes. I don t know much about cars so I also really appreciate that they are honest about upgrades and don t pressure to upsell things.
Went in for an oil change and transmission fluid change. After half an hour of them messing with the car they tell me the nuts are stripped. That somebody else must have done that and they cannot perform the service. Its the first time i have a transmission service as my car only has 70k miles on it. They told me to take it to a dealer to fix what they messed up.

Ive only had two encounters with VIOC. Although I love the instant nature of the oil changes, those prices are absurd. I just cant stomach paying almost triple for the same service.

This location is convenient and the crew are friendly however both times Ive selected this location vs temecula I get stuck in a lane with a 45+ minute wait to get into the service bay. At the dealership its OK because you can wait in the lobby or lounge, but here you are stuck in your car and concerned with getting out the car or you will block the road.

The guys there kind off spend more time laughing and joking than servicing, they will say you need a replacement part but don t have it in stock and ask you to go to the autozone to buy the part and bring the part back to have them charge you more to put it in
This place is great! The staff was very nice and professional. I only found this place as I was looking for a Take 5. Im used to Take 5, but theres not one in the area. I gave this place a shot, and I was pleasantly surprised. This will become my go-to place for oil changes. I highly recommend it. They also offer a military discount, which is always appreciated. No complaints.
Brought the car in early for an oil change, and ended up needing a new electric water pump by the end of the day..... Cant explain, how infuriating and costly this whole experience was.

Me and my family always take our cars to this location..but im so upset this time...I called to get information on my last oil change service and the girl who answered said she couldnt give me info cuz it was under my husband name which we have the same address and i couldve confirmed anything else she needed, so I told her but every time I bring our cars you guys except me to do the service knowing its not my name in the sistem...right? Im sorry that is so Dumb, now I have to wait till he gets home around 6pm ..very inconvenient, sorry changing location for our service. Not good smart customer service. But it sounded she didnt care anyway

I ve taken my 2017 Silverado and my 1951 GMC to this location a few times. I would say my past experiences where normal. However, today I brought my 1966 Pontiac GTO in to have the oil changed. I haven t brought this car in before, however I know the oil and the filter by heart. I know they carry both at this location. So anyways, today I m waiting my turn in line when one of the mechanics .comes out with his hand held to look up my car. I tell him the oil and filter information. He proceeds to type and then look up to tell my I can t find your car, so I can service it. Um.. what? I just told you what it needs. He got gruff. So I flat out asked him if if he was joking? He got rude so I in turn got rude back. I definitely won t be coming back here with any of my vehicles. Your mechanic needs to be educated on customer service.

The guys there at Valvoline on California Oaks are top notch! They are so friendly and interactive with the customers, and very smart! And even though people come rolling in very close to closing time, they still greet every last customer as though they were their first. They are conscientious of each other, too, and make sure all safety precautions are in place for the guys below as well as for the customers above. The only place Ill get my oil changed. Youre in and out in about 15 min every time
Never had a problem until recently. Routine fleet oil change and noticed oil drip beyond the usual day or so after a change from spillage. Noticed huge puddle after being parked at the airport for a week. Drive back through and was told, no problem just frame oil . I questioned how that much could still be sitting on the frame after a change 60 days ago, and was told my supervisor is down there and he s confident and cleaning it up now . The picture clearly shows it s not old oil on the frame dripping from the recent change. Still dripping two weeks later. I took it to Goodyear and was told the filter was loose. You d think they would have checked the filter.

I think i was there for...20 min or so. There was no wait. They pulled me up in their system, quoted me a price, applied a coupon I found online for $12 off and did their thing. $113 was my total out the door (8 qtz of oil). I will be back early next year for another service visit. No BS. Just friendly, efficient service
We have been using the Cal Oaks Valvoline for years! Their customer service is way above and beyond and we will never go anywhere else!
Feels like an oil change at a military installation where the crew barks orders to each other. Very disconcerting. Maybe they should be more like the secret service of oil changes.
Avoid this location at all costs. They forgot to put a gasket (under oil filter) back on after they replaced the oil filter and it caused a huge oil leak. When we called them they said it wasnt their fault. I asked them to verify via video if they replaced it and they said they did. I went to location and the video they showed me only showed the top of the car not the underside where the filter is. I asked how did they know they replaced the gasket if their video doesnt show the underside? They got upset and said there was nothing they could do. I had to pay for a complete new oil change at a different company and Valvoline basically said whatever sir theres a line of people around the block waiting for an oil change so we dont need your business The only way these big companies will provide better service is if we hurt their bottom line. Do not go to Valvoline.

I like the drive thru oil change experience, and they point out other services your car needs but they dont pressure you to get those done.

Went to get my oil changed at THIS valvoline shop......and they did not replace the oil cap.....as they should with a new one. NOTE*** a 2020 Ford. They decided to reuse the old one.A few day later, I noticed that my car was leaking oil in the driveway....so when I went back to the shop( waiting for almost a hour in line) to let them know what happened, they said they did not have a replacement drain plug to replace it with, and to go to the other one o. Clinton Keith. WOW!!!! LUCKILY, and thank the man up stairs, they wasnt busy, and they took care of the situation.......NO PROBLEM.....MORAL OF THE STORY....this shop is not good, and the other store ON CLINTON KEITH IS PHENOMENAL!!!! GREAT SERVICE, FAST AND WILL ALWAYS GET MY BUSINESS!!!! PERIOD.

Called for an oil change and they didn t know what type of oil my car used. It s a 2020 Hyundai Elantra. Do not trust your vehicle with these people oil changes in their name but they don t know what kind of oil vehicle state seems very strange to me. Apparently I forgot that I had already left a review I had issues here They are more than the dealership and that s just crazy to me

I ve gone there twice, and both times it was a very pleasant experience. I always look out for how the environment of the car place is, and if the people working there seem like a good team. This place is always full of knowledgeable staff who treat me with respect, and don t try to scam me or trick me into buying things I don t need. I appreciate this a lot, because I don t really know a lot about cars. When I ask basic questions, they never treat me like I m stupid. I also LOVE seeing women in the team, it adds to my positive experiences. And, there s usually some sort of discount you can get if you sign up for emails. Overall, this is a great place to get a quick oil change and have them look at your car. Highly recommend!

They completely broke my engine and had to replace it (the oil filter was not put back on). Process wasn t unpleasant but the manager was. Still having troubles with my car now and they said it s out of their hands. Would not recommend this location to anyone I know.

Great people working here but had to wait 40 minutes then they charge $70 for the same oil change my mechanic does for $50. Add insult to injury then they send me a coupon for $15 off my next service. Again great folks not sure about the company management. Walt Lange

These guys are always the best. Duke took care of my family and I our last visit and went above and beyond to keep my family safe on the road. The team here is fast, friendly and efficient. Offered us to sit inside why they did a radiator flush and oil change since it was 106°. The office was very cool and the air conditioner was great.
Cheap oil filter, dealer also ask if we are sure they used synthetic oil.... I told them we paid $140 for most expensive oil. Also pan bolt gasket was not replaced so leak was occurring. Also bolt for air filter box missing causing check engine light. Spoke with manager and according to cameras they didnt touch air filter box. How convenient.

If you dont change your own oil, this is a great place to have it done in Murrieta. Fast reliable and friendly. Ive never had an issue with any work they have done. I change my own oil but i also drive a company truck and this is where all of our trucks get serviced. Valvoline, that is, not specifically Murrieta. In my opinion, all their shops are held to the same high standard and they continually go above and beyond. There are no plans for my companies fleet to ever be serviced elsewhere. They do more than just motor oil changes.

11-21-21 I m always short on time and had to take my work car in. I was recommended this place by my father in law and I have to say the service was amazing. Everyone was extremely professional and communicative. Checked all the standard bits and bobs and had me ready to go in 15 min. Maybe even less because there weren t many people there. But even if it were packed it would have been faster than some of the other places I ve gone to. Sat in the car the whole time. It was great. This team worked like a well oiled machine, which is what you want when you have a machine that needs to be well oiled. I ll probably never go anywhere else again.

They are VERY expensive. Castrol down the street is $40 cheaper AND they wash your car.

They forgot to screw back in the skid plate, so the plate was hanging low scraping every dip and bump. I guess they needed the screws. Paying attention to detail is a complete failure at this location
Overpriced. After a tire rotation they did I had only 25 psi on my back tire! Yeah way to go, guys. Youre really on your game... pfffttt not. Wont be going back anytime soon.
