Since we established our business Blue Ocean Whale Watch in 2010 at Moss Landing, Peninsula Diesel was our most reliable service whenever we needed them in order to run our business efficiently. At every step the whole team of Peninsula Diesel worked with us to meet our needs in a timely manner so we were able to run our business without any interruption.. We truly appreciate them supporting us with their expertise and service to help us over a decade. Many thanks to Hai and Jay on the field and Lucy at the office to provide the best service possible.
I had a Twin Disc 530 die on me, found one here at Peninsula, drove down from Washington state, gear was everything they said it was and at a fair price. Fine people to deal with, would definitely recommend!
The entire team is fantastic. They are professional and always willing to go the extra mile for our nonprofit. Whenever we have an issue with our engines, we call them, and they always manage to fit us into their schedule. Jay, in particular, is highly detail-oriented and consistently does excellent work. He's a great communicator, always finding the best solution to any problem and explaining what went wrong in a clear, easy-to-understand way.
This work was done on my 2001 F 250 power stroke diesel.Peninsula diesel was good a long time ago but no more they have one good mechanic all the rest are terrible I had this work done and moved north they messed up my brakes they kick and make noise going down the street. They pulled my transmission out to fix real main seal and still leaks. I asked then to change the fluid in the transfer case charged me for it but they never did. My started makes a funny noise since they did the work already burned up one starter. They messed up my hubs up front and don’t go into 4 wheel drive at times. They are terrible I would not recommend them for anything.
zero stars. unethical, unprofessional, incompetent these guys are not reliable or thrust worthy in any one's respectable opinion i was hauled out to do bottom paint on my sailboat, took the opportunity to do a tune up, oil change and a general inspection on my running good yanmar a simple, common engine. during the proces i was told my irreplaceable bronze/ glass sea strainer was going to get cleaned and reinstalled. instead it was replaced with a cheaper plastic unit. i asked to get my old part back but i was told it was thrown away. highly improbable. that is theft in my opinion i let go of the issue in the interest of a good relationship with the mechanic (yanmar dealer and certified repair shop) they sent my injectors for a bench test and discovered one of them needed to be replaced and the injection pump needed to be checked as well. i authorized the work. they forgot to reinstall the oil feed to the fuel pump resulting in a lock up within 5 minutes of being started for total loss of oil. hai the owner took no responsibility and i had to resort to the court system to get justice. i won, however between their bill and the expenses to fix their mistake i am still out a bunch of money,
Hai "built" me a 3208 Cat DROP IN in December 2020, tested it with water and then shipped it across country that was 30 below zero without winterizing it. MORON, the block FROZE during shipping and cracked. He also didn't include an Alternator, or water pump. Not exactly Drop in. He's an idiot.
Peninsula Diesel is a great resource in Monterey Bay for all your nautical needs including parts, fuel polishing, repairs. Additionally replacing your generator or rebuilding diesel engine all together. The family-owned aspect will keep you coming back, the staff is extremely dedicated to their work and will go the extra mile to repair your boat. Repairing commercial vessels is becoming a lost art and my wife and I thankful to have companies like Peninsula to keep important services in Monterey operating efficiently.
Great service, excellent technical knowledge. Where to go for engine repairs
