Raya Automotive and Upfitting in Monterey

I'm a mechanic (Phoenix AZ), my daughter (super intelligent but mechanically naive 22, Air Force) stationed in Monterey CA. Close to Air Force Base. Although ""after hours " checked vehicle in to inspect first thing next dat. She had multiple concerns with her car, couple warning / engine lights, brake noise that needed diagnosis . After expensive estimates from other ships, I was ready for the worst... and a huge bill. HUGE surprise!!!!!!!!! Shop did full inspection, cleaned brakes, changed oil and explained everything to her for price not much more than what others just wanted for inspection. As a mechanic, I very very very rarely recommend anyone. 10 STARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

AMAZING and FANTASTIC customer service!!! I've gone through quite a few mechanics/auto shops in the last couple of years for my Jeep and hands down Raya Automotive/Juan is EXCEPTIONAL!! I thought my job would take a little bit of time but I literally pulled into his shop and was done in the blink of an eye! Competitive/affordable prices and did I mention outstanding customer service?! If you're looking for a mechanic who is honest and explains things, look no further than Raya Automotive!!

After almost 1 year and a half of my truck being in and out of shops and going to 3 different mechanics to attempt to get my truck back up and running Raya Automotive got it done within 2 days! Not only was the service fast but the owner was very professional and found the (real) problem with my vehicle in a timely and efficient matter, the icing on the cake was not only that he found the broken part but even took a picture and sent it to me!! Something none of the other mechanics did or even offered to do! If possible I’d give this shop 10 stars as they’ve got a customer for life now!

I am very pleased to give Mr. Juan Raya an excellent Kudos for service. I was stranded in a Friday afternoon. He took my car in immediately, diagnosed it and completed the service by the next morning at 10:30 a.m. He is very friendly, professional, and knows what to do!!! I took my 2006 Chevy equinox to Raya Automotive with a strange sound coming from my car that was very concerning to me. Mr. Raya took no time at all to look at my car and came to me with a diagnosis. At the end he was so nice to explain everything to me so I could easily understand and assured me that he would do his research to get me the best deal on a quality part. I look forward to having Raya Automotive servicing my car in the near future and will definitely be recommending him to my friends and family.

I had a check engine light on for the past couple of weeks. I never had any time during the week to be able to take it into a shop and get it checked out. I was referred to Raya Automotive through a close friend. I contacted the owner and was informed that I could bring my vehicle in on a Saturday afternoon which was perfect for me. Within a few hours he had my vehicle up and running with the issues no longer present.

I had ongoing issues with my vehicle’s engine and had my local dealership make costly repairs twice. After the 2nd “repair,” which consisted of the whole engine being replaced, I was able to drive my vehicle for a few months before the engine light came back on. I took my vehicle back to the dealership on multiple occasions with the same result, they would run a diagnostic test, clear the engine light, and tell me they couldn’t find anything wrong. Before I knew it, the one year warranty on the repair had expired and my vehicle still wasn’t running properly. After much frustration, I reached out to a friend and was referred to Raya Auto. This was the best decision I could’ve made, it’s been about three months since Mr. Raya repaired my vehicle and I have yet to encounter any issues. Mr. Raya was very thorough, professional, and fair with his pricing. My family and I will definitely be using Raya Auto again for any future repairs.

Juan Raya was very responsive, quick to get back to us, fair in his price, and he was able to get us in on the same day. He went above and beyond to help us. My husband and I plan on going to him for all of our vehicle repairs and I will definitely be referring him to our family and friends. If you want to go to someone who is honest, fair and knows his cars, Raya Automotive is the place to go.
