Freedom smog always takes care of us veterans. Just make sure your ride is ready to smog. All visual and mechanical smog issues should be ready. Stock parts ircarb snickered parts. My 98 z28 passed with avg to way below average ppm.

They just charged everyone for money without doing anything and they used to scam people by military uniforms that they put on the show

Easy to get an appointment, when I got there I had service right away. Car was done quickly, the staff friendly. Prefer to go here to smog my car. Will be back in 2025!

Fast & friendly

Owner politely took me at almost closing and answered all my questions and adviced me with more Smog DMV stuff. He respected my kids in the car. His demeanor was kind. He didnt rush me but was a gentle talker. I recommend most definitely.

Too expensive. The guy is very rude. On the phone giving very little customer service if any. Will never go back here again. And all I needed was a smog check.

Have been here previously for two of my vehicles and took my Dad here for his vehicles. Today I was greeted by whom I believe is the owner in a way that was both disrespectful and extremely rude just because I was there 10 min. Prior to them opening. I didnt say one word to this individual except to apologize for being there. WOW.. Needless to say I found another shop on Carpenter Rd. who was happy to take my money. I wont be returning here nor will I ever recommend them because sometimes you only get one chance.. My boss told me some valuable information once when I was working as a Service Manager, it was, ITS EASIER AND CHEAPER TO KEEP A CUSTOMER THAN TO FIND A NEW CUSTOMER, SO TAKE CARE OF THE ONES YOU HAVE ..

Nice police and very helpful

Service techs were rude and not professional. One guy was sitting in a chair the entire time while 1 tech helped the waiting room full of people. The entire experience was bad and I would not suggest this shop.

These people are liars. Tried to over charge me. Got a quote the day before and after my car was smogged they gave me a higher total cost. I had to fight with them to bring it down. Dont recommend anyone go here.

Owned by a Marine, believe. My gramps was a Marine. So, respect. Museum quality displays at all their places. Much better way to yer wait, than a cell phone receptor. You should see how big the phone in the metal green box tis. That squadron would have decimated half of Modesto for a cellphone, my guess.Tre cool. Worth a visit.

I was told I would need some sort of documentation to smog my car. I took it to the smog shop next door and they snogged my car in 10 mins

The young man at the counter was rude. The bathrooms have no t.p., soap or paper towels. I took back my keys and left. I wont give them my business.

Call yesterday the manager told me their dynamo was working, I showed up today at 8:10 am and the guy doing the smogs ask me the year of the vehicle (1998), and he said cant do it because their machine is down. Not very professional way to treat a loyal customer with 5 vehicles.

Came in without an appointment a little after noon. I was asked to come back around 3, I did and the guy got me in as his last car of the day. I really appreciated that and will definitely come back to this business again.

I would recommend having your car smogged here. The prices were really reasonable. The guys are really nice and explained what was wrong and they showed me what needed to be fixed. I fixed it and returned the next day and passed. Thank you and see you next time I need smog

I needed a smog check and went here based on another persons recommendation. It was your standard issue smog check place but this location included good service and air conditioning. All in all I think it lives up to a 5 star rating

I am not going to give too many details because I dont want them to fail my smog because of my post. So far this has been the cheapest place for me because of their coupons. They found something wrong with my car and was told to fix it. They assured that everything else was perfect and passed except for that. I fixed it myself because I had just lost my job and had to pay my rent and bills and didnt have money to buy the part. I took the car back; they didnt like how I fixed it and was told that I had to buy the part. I told them that I didnt have money and they said that they cant pass it without chaining the part. I ended up taking it to a mechanic and began expending money that couldnt spend since I still needed to renew the registration. So, took it back after getting it fix; now they started coming up with other excuses to not pass the car.

My wife and I have been going here for a few years now. I showed up not aware that they closed at 4:00pm. I waited several minutes while the gentlemen was working on only one customers car. He saw me and came in saying they were closed. He said they closed at 4:00pm. I walked back to the car and it was just before 4:00pm. I hate when businesses post their time and mean another. Say you close at 3:45pm then. Plus, in this current environment you leave money on the table. Couldnt have been the owner.

This is thr best place in Modesto for smog, have brought a few cars here through the years always good value, professional, friendly and quick, Gary helped us today and he was on the move getting them cars in and out. Even though he was busy he was professional very friendly not trying to make us feel rushed. I highly recommend this place

Great service, knowledgeable staff. I went in today for a smog and it didnt pass. Staff knew that I recently had a dead battery because of why it didnt pass. They told me I just needed to drive and give time for the computer to reset and bring it back for retest. In and out in less than 30 min. And the best part is their respect for military. Really great service, really nice people, that Decor is really cool has all kinds of military stuff in it it was just the neatest thing it covered all the services it was just really really a cool place and they had my car done in no time at all. I highly recommend that you go online binder coupon because we got a really great coupon and take your car to them to be smogged.

Smog was fine but they broke the lock on my gas cap and refuse to replace it. Not going back to an unprofessional place. Owner refused to take responsibility as well for her worker.

The owner was very nice and had a nice shop

my girlfriend went to the kansas location for a star smog and they told her that they were in the process in getting certified i then called 20 min later to ask if they were star certified and they said yes. Went in the next morning and jordan said my car was too low and the exhaust was going to get crushed so he said the shop in riverbank can take me. I called before making the trip out there and the person who i spoke to said he didnt have any gas for the machine and didnt know when he would have it available he then told me he could make an appointment and said he would call me as soon as something opened up. An hour went by i went to drop off her car at work and i called the shop back to see if they received any gas the guy told me not yet. Decided to take the car next morning in the riverbank location and told the guy that i was there to get a star smog and he told us that they were all booked with APPOINTMENTS for the day and couldnt help us. It was 11am and they close at 6 pm. It was obvious that the appointment i had supposedly made yesterday was not important enough to be written down. We got into a heated argument and left disappointed. Christina the owner called me And we talked things out. Bottom line id rather spend $70 for true customer service than $30 for the lowest grade service if any service was provided.

First time. Great place for Vets. While my car didnt pass, I felt the tech tried many times(my car had been altered illegally to pass smog). I was given advice as to why it couldnt be tested and required more service shop stuff. I didnt even asked for it, but he canceled the test and said no charge. Once I get this lemon repaired Im bringing it back to Freedom Smog. While the test didnt turn out the way I would have liked, I felt this place is honest and friendly. Glad I found them.
