The staff was friendly, efficient, and shared details throughout the process. The time was taken to make sure my oil was at a substantial level, my tires were filled accurately, and my windshield wiper fluid was replenished.
I came this morning for an oil change and was assisted by a few people- the main gentleman doing my oil change appeared to be in training and his trainer was a woman wearing a beanie with glasses? Anyway they deserve recognition for their kindness and helpfulness. I particularly loved how patient and sweet the trainer was with her trainee. She had such a positive attitude and was helpful, that’s hard to come by nowadays! It was honestly a breath of fresh air to overhear coworkers being so kind to both each other and to their customers. The oil change was quick and they informed me on upcoming things I need done on my car. The trainee was so nice as well and had such a positive attitude! The manager introduced himself to me as well (forgot his name) but he was professional and made sure everything was taken care of. Thanks everyone!!! 🩷❤️

I always get great customer service. The staff is always nice and polite. They ask permission to touch anything inside the car. In today's society we don't get excellent customer service. So I'm always grateful for the service at this business.
Customer service was great. Got an oil change and a coolant flush done. Too over all about 45mins, I provided my own oil filter and was told their oil filters are free but no where near the quality I was bringing in and no options for in-shop upgrades. They checked my air intake filter, was going to suggest replacing it but I had just replaced it the day prior. They also did not secure my intake filter shut, there ended up being a whole screw not tightened and caused an air leak in the intake. Please when training newer employees, follow up and check on their work before sending the customers off.
Have been here two times in total. First time had no problem but I was there on 10/24 to get oil changed. First time driving on highway to work this morning I heard a loud scratching coming from underneath. Attached photo will show the damage as a result of not securing this plate after changing the oil. 2 stars as a credit to the first time I went with no issues. Once I get this resolved I will stick to changing it myself as I went here to save myself time but ending having to spend more time to fix a problem that did not exist before the oil change
Decent spot for quick change. Sitting in the car the entire time is nice but unable to see what the techs are doing underneath and around your vehicle. Some things are just based on faith, I guess. Convenience of being next to costco is key for this location.

SCAM!! They took my windshield wiper off to show me they thought I should replace and buy a new one, I declined They never put it back on and when I went back to tell show them, they said my only option for me was to buy a new one. SCAM!

Express but expensive
One of the employees stole my washer fluid reservoir cap. When he opened my hood to check the fluids it looked like he reached in and then put something yellow in his pocket, but I didn t think much more of it. Then a couple of months later I pop my hood and the cover to my washer fluid reservoir is missing.
Great customer service, they weren t pushy and they gave me a discount without me even asking and fixed my taillight and gave me a free checkup !
I remember the first time took my old car to this location this was like 7 yrs ago , I had. A good service , so I took it a second time , service wasnt good as the first time ,so I decided not coming back again now after 7 yrs I got a new car and I was thinking to visit this location again but after reading all the reviews I said F NO lol , jiffy Lube even worse , all those fancy places are nothing but a scam

$110 to have a technician strip your oil plug, and when you discover that theyve broken your vehicle and stripped the plug, they demand a $50 labor fee to have it fixed because its been tampered with. Tampered meaning you tried to use the vehicle as you gave it to them and it was now in a dysfunctional state. As if they would tell you that they damaged your vehicle, as they obviously didnt. Borderline criminal operating standards.
Completely ripped off on the air filters. I looked up the items they replaced. They were both about $10 each. They charged me $95 total. ++ you replied its because of labor fee? The invoice clearly states that labor fee on that was $0. So you are lying. Also absolutely ridiculous to charge $75 for a simple task that literally takes less than a minute. These guys are frauds.

Problems that did not exist in my vehicle were added as a comment as if my vehicle had them, discount coupon was valid but not applied, worst oil change location on the entire west side. The leak started after changing the engine coolant, do not let it touch it, they have no idea what they are doing. An institution that understands nothing about customer satisfaction..

Enrique (the manager) is the best and goes out of his way to help customers and does a great job training new hires as well! All of the staff are so friendly and helpful, and the location is super convenient right next to the Costco gas station. I d rather go here to get an oil change than use the vouchers at my dealer bc the experience is so much better (and I ve never had the entire oil change process take more than 30-45min, including wait time and tire rotation even on the busiest days). Highly recommend!
Overinflated my tires to 38, had to go to big tire to get them properly inflated. My car had no oil leak and now it does after their oil change. Tried to go today but after 35 minutes of waiting and no movement of cars I decided to go another day. My feelings are the staff lacks training I dont see myself going back

It s totally messed up because I ask them to take it out my bumper because it s shaking but they don t know bumper what is it they takeoff my car undercover and they broke I realized when went home and I turn back suddenly and I told them you takeoff wrong part I can t drive just like that it s not safe but they don t care and they saying we are closing sorry we can t help . These guys took twice as long as any other oil changing company to get the job done. Their reason was because they were having trouble putting the skid plate back in (factory) While driving home I hear a rattling. I look under the car, half the screws are missing . Do not trust these people with your car
A bunch of noobs working on oil change. They first open up a bunch of stuff from the hood and do a sales pitch before they even get to oil change. They screwed up my engine with their oil change. I started getting reduced engine performance and when I took it to the mechanic they found engine oil in the spark plug. Please dont do here. Get professional help.
I took my car to Valvoline in Marina Del Rey to get an oil change back in November. They also replaced my battery at that point. Shortly after this, my car kept not starting - I had to jumpstart it each time I wanted to drive. I went back to Valvoline, they said the battery was drained for some reason and that I should take it to a car repair shop, and they replaced the battery once again. I finally took my car to Subaru, and they told me the wires had been cross-threaded and the battery wasnt replaced properly. They had to replace the battery sensor, and the work they did ended up costing me $700. The Valvoline in the marina is quite literally the only place where my battery has been touched since I bought my car a few years ago and they continue to deny any responsibility after reviewing the footage. I was offered a refund for the battery ~$200 and a card for a free oil change so that they can keep me as a customer, but they have refused to reimburse me for the damages they created. Obviously will not be going back, and I do not recommend this company or location to others. In response the note from the owner - I filed this claim on 3/25/24. The claim number is CS1042492. I spoke with the manager of your location on 3/27/24. Ive already received the reimbursement for the initial battery, but Valvoline never took responsibility or reimbursed me for the damages they caused to the car.
Professional and explain everything to you in plain English. No unexpected charges and the manager and team have great customer service and just a nice overall vibe. I always take my car here.

I pulled in on a whim this morning because Ive been having issues with my car dying if I go more than 2-3 days without driving it. Id been to other mechanics and had one tell me it was the alternator, one told me it was the battery, and a third wasnt sure. Erick took the time to test both, talk me through the results, and explained that it might actually be a parasitic drain from the cars electronic components and suggested some settings I can tweak to see if it fixes it. Hes been the most helpful mechanic Ive encountered in LA so far and Ill definitely return to this location next time I need service.

This was the easiest oil change I have ever had! Drive through convenience, you just sit in your vehicle as they do the work. They informed me throughout with what needed to be done. No pressure and very friendly. My mechanic Josiah was AWESOME!
Someone told me my brake light out was out, another told me it was fine. One person recommended a new air filter, they were out of stock. They recommended a tire rotation, lifted my car up, and it fell off. Avoiding this and all valvolines like the plague

I came in for a regular oil change, which was quick and easy. But when my car wouldnt start afterward, the whole team swung into action to try to figure out what was going on. Very soon, Edgar realized that I had a loose connection to my car battery, a problem that was intermittently bothering me for the last 2 months. He fixed the problem and saved me a trip to the mechanic. I am extremely grateful.
There have been instances where Ive gotten add-on services that I didnt agree to because of vague and unclear communication, only to be surprised when they start opening up my car for something I wasnt aware of. Whenever Im at this location, I always find myself having to be firm and extra clear that I dont want more services that I ask for. I dont trust the people at this location and I always feel like Im being manipulated or coerced to add some extra service on. I once pulled up and literally gave them a clear outline of what I want/dont want so they dont waste time trying to sell me something.

This Valvoline location has absolutely zero interest in accountability for the actions of its employees. BUYER BEWARE, if the people who work here damage your car in anyway due to a total lack of professionalism or care, you are hung out to dry. In my case, the incompetent staff bolted one of my tires on too tightly, which then they could not remove for a later tire rotation, and they simply werent interested in addressing this issue, or even telling me about it without me first asking. The matter was brought to various managers in customer care, and I was very clearly told that my refund was considered compensation, and that I should just take my care elsewhere to correct the issue. The issue that THEY caused. Needless to say, that is the last time I ever get my car serviced at Valvoline. Pathetic.
Would love to hear from the owner. I am waiting on a partial refund that has not been sent yet.
DO NOT GO HERE!!! NOT ENVIRONMENTAL FRIENDLY!! A bunch of worthless high school kids who dont know anything about cars. BROKE MY OIL PAN BOLT WITHOUT ACKNOWLEDGEMENT!! Leaked oil all over the streets!!! I sent it to my mechanic after seizing my engine the next day and I now have to get a new engine. The Dodge ram hemi 5.7 is down the drain!!! If you go to this place check part numbers before you purchase something or they will charge you 3x more!!! I have always been happy with this place because they re fast and nice but I just realized that they over charge you like crazy. My girl got his cabin oil filter changed for 60 dollars! I was very surprised and checked online the same part number and it was 18 dollars on their website. I came back to complain and they didn t refund or had a logic explanation. It was always just like they were busted! O was pretty sure it was a mistake and they were going to match the price but they didn t and now they lost a customer for years. They try to claim that part of it was the labor but in the invoice labor cost was 0 and complementary and it literally took 5 seconds to change the part since it was inside the cabin. VERY DISAPPOINTED!

Hi Valvoline, recently 13 days ago did my recommended radiator service and oil change with you, and today my car had an overheat failure and the water cooler reservoir was empty. My wife drives this vehicle, so she does not do any mileage, but today we went around 50 miles round trip, and in the one-moment car had heat and the red lamp turned On. So we stopped, and no water was in the coolant system. ADDITION: this subject who respoded on my rewiev never reached out, this is A SCAM PLACE!

So disappointed, I have used this soany times before . But this time, and I understood they were busy, I was asked twice to let people in front of me. Even some who came in after me. After an hour ( and being told it would take a half hour to see us) I was ask to park on the side so other cars could get in front of us. I gave up and went elsewhere

Oil changed LESS THAN 600 miles ago/LESS THAN two months prior = DISASTER I recently had to have my vehicle serviced on 10/18/22 with 55,044 miles on it, due to power loss and a rough idle. After diagnosing the issue with the vehicle, the Service Manager asked me if it had been several years since the oil was last changed in the vehicle as the oil was JET BLACK. I informed him that the oil had been changed on 8/26/22 with 54,442 miles on the vehicle, just under 600 miles ago. He indicated to me it was likely that VALVOLINE did not properly drain the previous oil which had since caused oil sludge and debris to dislodge into other areas of the engine, causing the issues I was experiencing with the vehicle. The codes that the vehicle was displaying is P06DE. We have confirmed with Chevrolet that this was for 1 of 3 reasons: 1. Incorrect engine oil filter (does not meet OEM specifications). 2. Deteriorated or dirty oil. 3. Contaminated engine oil. We were informed that the oil was the cause of the issues I was having with the car. Once the oil was changed, the issues with the vehicle were resolved. However, this oil issue had subsequently damaged sensors on the vehicle, that had to be entirely replaced. In total, this cost an extra $820 because Valvoline did not change my oil properly.

My issue is two fold I have been to the Marina Del Rey location numerous times with both vehicles. The price increase since my last visit is too high in my opinion. I presented my Veteran s card for the 10% discount. If the staff has told me that there was a 50% discount on Veteran s Day I would have waited two days. Instead of paying $110 my cost would have been half, l$60 and change. (The $110 was after the 10% discount ) I feel that they should have communicated that Veteran s Day promotion to me when they took my DAV Card. Happy Veteran s Day

Our technician reset our car to factory settings all because he wouldn t wait an extra minute to let us find the oil change reset, literally bullied my partner out of the car so he could mess with it. Then we discovered a couple months later he left a rag under the hood. Maybe our technician was just incompetent but we won t be coming back.

Waited double the time they told me. They started the service in a car that arrived 10 or more minutes after me and when it was my turn they wanted me to wait more so they could do the service in another car that arrived at the same time as I did. That s just frustrating after waiting patiently for 35 minutes.
Super fast, very friendly, and a good price. Didnt try to sell me anything I didnt need. Plus I never had to get out of my vehicle I was in and out of Valvoline much faster than I was when I went through the drive through next door at In-n-Out!
Awesome service! Jesus was the nicest and most professional person imaginable, and overall the service was really quick (oil change plus brake light replacement). I d 100% recommend this place to anyone in need of an oil change or similar service. The area is a little crazy given it s between an In-N-Out Burger and Costco gas, but managed to squeeze through the maze and didn t have to wait at all for the oil change, which was really convenient!

Watch out at this location! They gave only 3 quarts of oil, the oil filter was tightened like crazy on the mount. It caused a head gasket failure and I can throw away my car. I even took the upsale better oil. It cost me $90 to let them break my car. I will never return to valvoline.
The best oil change in LA
Ive never had a faster, friendlier and more efficient oil change in my life. I absolutely love the staff here. To top it off, they always start off by asking me if Im using any groupons or coupons for my visit, not making me feel self conscious about whipping out my coupon.
Waited in line for 30min just to have them tell me they are out of the filter to do the oil change. They wanted ME to go to autozone and buy one. I might have had time for that if they had told me before I waited for 30 minutes. They should ve had a sign outside, or been going around the peoples cars in line and letting them know. Not professional at all.

DO NOT GO HERE! I am never going back to any Valvoline. Had my oil and transmission fluid done there. A week passed and my car broke down. I took it to the local mechanic and quote: FOUND TRANSMISSION FLUID WAS SEVERELY OVERFILLED, AND ENGINE OIL WAS AS WELL OVERFILLED. I had to pay it all again to have the service done properly. And that is not all, I contacted customer support, and they took 1 week to call me saying that they cannot do anything because I didnt take the car back to Valvoline - how am I supposed to do that if my car is breaking down? - and I didnt take pictures - how am I supposed to know that their incompetent mechanics botched my car? I wish this was all a joke, but it isnt. Service: 0 stars. Customer support: 0 stars. UPDATE: Do not fall for their response below, it is just for show! I have already contacted customer support and they have already told me that there is nothing they can do.
If there is a friendlier oil change experience, I havent found it. I came at 6 on a Friday night and the staff guided me in immediately. Several women technicians swarmed my xTerra while the pleasant and friendly customer service guy took down my information. I knew exactly what I wanted, told him and they got it done in less than 15 minutes. All my fluids were topped off, oil changed and my tires were checked. As I had recently been in for service at my mechanic, I didnt need anything else. I saw nothing but energy and a get-it-done attitude. And, yeah, smiles from everyone. Ill be back.
There is a location next to my house and I had been taking my 2016 tacoma for service.. I know its not a full stop shop but they are supposed to handle little service and check fluids and filters. After this last visit though I realize these guys arent doing much of what they say. Less than a week of topping up all my fluids at this location, my truck was staling.. I took it to a shop I trust and they said all the fluids were almost empty. Engine oil , and the transmission was leaking and almost completely out of oil.. if these guys couldnt catch that. What are they doing at all? I took my receipt from the reputable shop to valvoline and they basically said oops. Offerend no refund and just said a customer service rep would be getting a hold of me. Been 2 more weeks and no one has reached out at this time. If your trying to save a little time... DONT by going here.

I loved the experience. I have always gotten oil changes at the dealership, but this was much quicker and the technicians communicated with me very well. In a world where customer service seems to be dwindling, this shop sets a high standard of excellence.
I went to the mdr store to get my oil changed and I was hoping for contactless service ( I normally go to the Subaru dealer in sm) here is my experience. I pulled in staff was wearing mask and gloves employee comes up to the window for info and to greet me. They check my car lights then another employee comes up to discuss the price of the service. A few mins go by I get yet another employee at my window trying to up sell me on fuel system cleaner. Another employee comes up and asks me to start my car. Then shut if off. They check my oil there seems to be some confusion the girl technician calls some other over to check all of them look confused. Yet another employee comes to my window and said the employee in the pit drained my transmission instead of my engine oil! Now you get a free transmission service that s $200.00 for free. Another employee comes over a few mins later and tells me they over torqued the drain plug so they need to replace this. A few mins later they need me to start my car again and shift into drive and reverse. Finally my car is done I m ready to go. I leave pulling out of the parking lot my car transmission shifts weirdly I think maybe the fluid is getting into the trans or there was an air bubble I drive 2 blocks stop at a store for an errand get back into my car pull it out of the parking spot put it in drive and the transmission bangs into gear and feels weird I drive back to valvoline I parked and went in there was a big line of cars. They say that they will check it out they jocky some cars around and get me in 5 mins later. A few employees come up and ask me what s wrong they tell me they put the wrong amount of transmission fluid in my car and they need to redo the transmission service so they can ensure they put the right amount of fluid into the car but there machine is being used on another vechical. So 20 mins later they are working on my car. Finally they are finished I start the car shift the gears everything seems normal. I try to get a receipt for the services done I get one that just says the oil change I ask again to get a receipt with the transmission service they did. And why they had to do it twice. By the time everything was done my 15 min oil change took 3 hours of my day. I m Slightly concerned if I can trust that everything is done correctly almost to the point of calling the Subaru dealer to have them take a look at my car. After this experience I won t be going back I m happy they redid the unnecessary service to fix their mistake. I should have gone to the dealer in the 1st place my mistake lesson learned. Cost wise it was only a few dollars cheaper then the dealer. If I went to the dealer I would have interacted with the service writer and maybe have a porter and a mechanic in my car I m sure the would have disinfected the car and wash it. Good luck to anyone that wants to trust these guys to do an oil change on their car. I m not trying to bash this business I m just sharing how my experience was.

Drove right up with no wait. Great social distance measures as everyone has a mask, you stay in your car, no touch payment methods, and receipt emailed to you. They were SUPER fast, under 15 min! They changed the oil, filter, refilled my windshield and coolant fluids. Checked my tire pressure and air filter all with a smile. Samuel and Edgar were great! Would definitely recommend.

Place attempted to replace my light bulb in a Fiat 500L, instead ripped the (wrong) bulb from the socket and then blamed the car. I didnt realize until I got a quote later from Fiat dealer, but its 500 bucks alone just for the part replacement since I need to replace the whole housing + the labor. 100% would not recommend and Im wondering how to even bother pursuing these guys for the damage. Always got warnings to avoid quick lube places, now I understand why.

This is my second time checking my vehicle to see if I need a oil change. The first time, the mechanic said my oil looks good. The second time, I had two mechanics tell me my options on getting one. What I like about this Valvoline is that they are honest with you. Unlike other places in LA to get your oil change where they want you to buy everything, this place really likes to help you out. This is my go-to spot for my oil change.

Took my BMW 4 series in for a routine oil change. This was not your basic service. Mena, Josiah and the team are next level! The moment I was guided into the bay, the team had a tight running, super efficient process! I was in and out in less than 15 minutes! Super clean, contact less... even with their masks on i could feel them smiling and proud of the work they do! Most important- they wanted to be there- showing up for the community and their customers. This is what set them apart from the rest. They checked everything- turn signals, brakes ... they communicated well with each other, and super friendly! They listened to what I needed and made sure all my concerns were addressed accordingly. They didn t push any products I didn t need, but made the recommendations and set expectations for my next visit. They gave me all the information I needed to make an informed decision without the high pressure sales. My first time here, The process of getting my oil changed was quick what I was surprised that they charged me extra to top of my coolant. Any other oil change business they do it for free... I asked for the price of 3 windshield wipers and they $25 each. Felt like they didnt care about the customer and they just want my cash... I think I will another business. Thanks

Drive thru oil change and u dont have to get out unless u have to use the restroom..very professional- communication is great..thorough checking of the lights and breaks...a little pricey but SOO worth it....they do accept coupons

These guys are awesome. They were quick. Fixed my brake light for $15.99 and showed me the oil level when they were done. Plus they were just super nice and didn t rush through explanations. All in all great experience.
Stripped oil drain plug. Valvoline didnt want to fix it. Eventually after a giant hassle and many arguments with the store manager I got them to pay for the repairs they caused. I would note recommend going there.

Service was great, had me bring an oil additive because of the milage. They all tell across to each other at every stage of the service, but I couldnt understand a single thing they were saying. Not sure what the perception they were trying to achieve.

Been here three or four times for various issues. They are always super courteous and quick. I never feel like Im getting the run around or upsold on anything. Definitely recommend for simple stuff like transmission fluid, battery issues, etc.

My car battery died two times in one day so I knew it was time to get a new one. Was going to use AAA and apparently they do not replace Volkswagen batteries (who knew??). Called other places and all said I needed to go to the dealership (who told me they could not guarantee my car would be looked at today??) so I called Valvoline and OMG SO IMPRESSED with their services. They told me what it would cost over the phone, got there and it was the exact same! No hidden service fees the several people working there were all kind and efficient getting me in and out within 30 minutes. I asked them to look at my headlight and all it was was disconnected so no charge, I also asked them to check a few other things while I was there and it was NO problem. They topped off the fluids, installed new windshield wiper blades (at my request not theirs) and each time they told me what it would cost and made sure I was okay with it. Cannot recommend them enough. If you need great honest service I say go here.
Had a terrible experience here. Very unprofessional workers who were clearly inexperienced and untrustworthy. Their manager was extremely unhelpful. Also, before I left, I watched their employee, Louis, guide a large truck into one of their bays and actually backed the truck straight into a parked motorcycle. It was clearly not the drivers fault. So unprofessional. I don t not trust them with my car and will never come here again.
DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE WITH YOUR CAR. I have a large vehicle and after pulling up to the first bay I was instructed by a mechanic to follow his directions on backing up (as the parking lot is small). He was not paying attention and guided me straight into a parked motorcycle (I was going 2 mph, it was obvious his attention was elsewhere). Afterwards I was told by the manager that this was my responsibility and that I would be paying for the damages. Completely irresponsible and negligent costumer service, trust at your own risk
