American Tire Depot in Huntington Beach

I took my BMW in to have the alternator replaced. This was after a long conversation with the service manager about their experience with BMW repairs. After being assured they work on BMWs all the time, I brought my car in. I asked them to please check for leaks while the alternator was out as you have to remove several parts to reach it. I checked in late in the afternoon and was told they cleaned my engine really well and found no leaks and my car was ready for pick up. I arranged a ride and headed over there. On the way I received a call from another manager, Chris, who said they found a leak in my valve cover gaskets and quoted me $1700. This confused me because my car was ready, and I didnt want to pay double labor to have them take it apart again. So, I texted my original manager and he said not to worry he would take care of it. I brought the parts the next day. I called to check up and was told my car wasnt ready yet. I didnt hear back from them that day, so I called the next day, not ready. Checked in the next day and was told the mechanic had installed one side and was working on the other and my car would be ready later that day. I arranged a ride and got there about 3 and waited. When it was almost closing time, I walked to the service bay to check on my car. I saw the mechanic leaning into my exposed engine and several parts off and to the side. I asked if everything was ok, and he said the air conditioner was in the way and he was having trouble putting on the gasket. I apologized that my car was giving him difficulties but thanked him for his efforts as I could tell he was visibly stressed. I finally got a call that my car was ready 3 days later right before closing. I rushed down there and barely made it. Before I paid my invoice, I asked the girl if the labor was under warranty because I supplied the parts. She updated my invoice to show 1 year warranty on labor. Everyone was gone by the time I actually got into my car. When I got in I noticed grease and silicone all over my interior, and a big oil stain on the carpet. When I started my car, a loud squealing came from the engine, but it stopped. I went to put my top down and it did not work. I went to put my air on, and it didnt work. I decided to drive the short distance home and would return in the morning. The whole way home my car ran terrible. The next morning, I started my car and tons of thick grey smoke came out of the exhaust and the squealing was so loud that the gardener across the street turned off his mower and came over. He asked me to open my hood and then immediately said to shut my engine. I got out to look and saw the fuel pouring out of the broken fuel line. Then I took a closer look and noticed there was something different about my engine. My side engine covers were missing, my skid plate was missing, many caps were missing, there were zip ties where BMW ties used to be, hoses were loose or not attached, and there was oil and silicone EVERYWHERE! Including underneath my vehicle was oil and fuel. At that point I inspected my entire vehicle and was absolutely shocked at the damage. There were gashes in my paint in several areas, my headlight was broken, my grill was scratched, my middle taillight was broken, and this was on top of all the other things. I called the manager and was literally shocked by the absolute negligence in the care of my car. I immediately had it towed to BMW for an inspection. This was in September 2023. I have had BMW inspect it twice (the second inspection was ordered by the district manager, and they left me to pay the bill) CA BAR did an investigation but could not make them pay for the damages. My car has been non op since then. And whats shameful is that they even denied working on my valve covers and basically stole factory BMW parts off of my car and wont return them. I did get a refund. However, that doesnt get my car back on the road. It doesnt pay for the $20k in damages to my car. Both repairs were not done right. This company doesnt care about how their mistakes affect their customers.

My wife and I had just arrived in Huntington Beach to our Airbnb after driving south from Ashland Oregon all day. Upon arrival we heard a strange thumping sound from our brakes and I looked up the closest place and it was the American tire Depot. I called and even though it was only 2 hours before they were going to close they said they would check it out for me and what they discovered was a bolt missing from my front passenger brake. They took me back and showed me and luckily they had a matching bolt they fixed it right away didnt even charge me for the bolt and only for the service. They were truly kind and wonderful to work with and I will definitely become an American tire Depot customer for life. Thanks for saving me guys Im safe on the road again God bless.

American Tire Depot is the best kept secret in Huntington Beach CA. They were extremely courteous and honest, and gave me excellent advice on when to service my car. Brought my car in for service check. They could have told me that my car needed tons of work but instead they gave me an honest assessment without charging me. I have definitely told my friends about them and you should too. Look no further for all your car repairs and servicing. Five Star plus !

I can t express how grateful I am for the service I received today. I bumped a curb and split the sidewall of my tire. After calling around, no one had my tire in stock and I was leaving on a trip the next day. The last number I called I spoke to Rick in Costa mesa. He too would have to order the tire and it wouldn t be in till the next day. But then he offered to check some other stores and found the exact tire. I needed 5 miles away, set up the appointment for me and gave me a little break on the tire price. When I arrived, everyone was super nice to me and I was out of there in about 35 minutes. I will definitely refer others and return again.

I started going here on recommendation from my son, who created his own problems by specing tires that were too big for his truck. American Tire Depot (patiently) worked with him to resolve all the issues. I brought my truck in for rear brakes, which is one of the things I like about ATD, in that, they just dont do tires alone. I used to go to a competitor with a similar name, but was always annoyed that I would have to go somewhere else for alignment. ATD does alignment too. ATD is more of a one-stop shop for anything tire/wheel/brake related. I also bought a set of Michelins for my wifes car as well. Great guys, good service, and I recommend this shop to all my friends and family.

I have been going there for 30 years. Not ever again. They won t fix a nail in a tire. Did the safety issue scam. A nail 3-4 from the side. John the manger said legally he can t fix the tire. There isn t any law that says that. Used to be busy. Now it looks empty. Stay away

Super friendly. Gave good, sound advice about my tires. Said it wasn t quite time to buy a new set. They rotated them and I ll be back in another 5,000 to 10,000 miles!

Ordered and scheduled appointment online arrived filled the paperwork out and waited for my vehicle to be done. No more than an hour to replace and align all four tires. Also they have comfortable seating for you while you wait.

They were efficient and courteous, flexible with my schedule.

Needed 4 tires, all season ,I had been shopping for a few days .I called Tire Depot and John made it happen. Their prices were slightly lower than everyone else and finished the car at the given time. I am happy to give them my business and will be back.

I had a deeply disappointing experience at American Tire Depot. Also not sure why they have such high reviews on google (BBB and Yelp may be better indicators with more honest reviews). The service was subpar and frustrating. Upon arrival, I noticed that the staff seemed disorganized and unprofessional (store was open 15 minutes late, even the delivery driver for this mornings shipments noted that this was not the first time this has occurred at this location). When my vehicle was finally brought in, the communication was lackluster and despite having an appointment at 8 AM, I had to wait over an hour and a half to be told that my tire was not here (this order was placed on 9/1, promised delivery by 9/4, with my appt on 9/5). I attempted to address my concerns with the management, but their response was dismissive and lacked any real effort to rectify the situation. For the amount time spent and wasted, the quality of service was far below acceptable standards. I would not recommend American Tire Depot based on my experience and will be seeking out alternative service providers in the future.

Great, friendly service from John. They repaired my flat tire for free. When my car needs a new set of tires, I will buy them here. Big-O up the street refused to even consider repairing the tire, claiming it was too old . The tire is original equipment on a 4-year old car with less than 40,000 miles!

First time I came here, I made an appt and everything went great. This second time I made an appt almost 2 weeks ago but when I got here they couldn t find it in the system then I was told 1 1/2-2 hour wait. I called back at 2 hours and 15 minutes waited on hold for about 4 minutes before someone answered and asked what I was calling for then he put me on hold for another 8-10 minutes before I hung up. They called me back and they were barely starting to work on my car and then I was told an additional 30-45 minutes. I was on my way back here when he called me back and when I got here there was NO ONE in the waiting area and they re just standing at the desk having a conversation with nobody in here. Having an appt doesn t do you any justice whatsoever. I got screwed over on my time when I supposedly did the correct steps to get this done somewhat faster. I m pretty sure they forgot about my car just like how they lost my appt in the computer. And all I m getting done is a tire rotation and a brake inspection. This is ridiculous. Three stars because the first I came here was great and making an appt did its justice, but this second time it didn t do me any good whatsoever. I still waited 3 1/2 hours total and my appt was at 10:15, but he had to enter me in manually

I scheduled an appointment for two new tires for my Mercedes S500. Upon arrival, I was informed that the wrong tires were in stock and that the correct ones needed to be ordered. Although this was disappointing, the staff was incredibly accommodating. They offered me a better quality brand tire at a discounted price. Additionally, they inspected my vehicle and noticed that a wheel alignment was needed, which they also provided at a discount. Now my car rides better than ever, and I saved some money. Thanks to the staff, this is my first choice for all my tire needs.

Brought my rental car in to fix the tire pressure and the guy at the counter told me it wouldnt be a problem and to take the car to the back. Booked an 8am appointment turns out they take a lot of 8am appointments, more than they have the ability to actually complete. Waited over an hour for two tires to get put on and I m still waiting here, and I was the first one in line, only two people in the waiting room myself included. Next time I ll try a different shop for sure, if it takes over an hour for two tires I feel bad for anyone getting 4 update hour and 20 minutes and they didn t put the spare back. They threw it in the back even though I asked them to.

I was extremely please with the service I received here today! Everyone from the front desk (so sorry as her name escapes me- Jillian? Janelle? Jules? It seemed like a very busy Sunday morning. Phones ringing off the hook and people (such as myself) walking in with our emergencies , questions, and special requests. She handled it all professionally, calmly and with great skill even though it looked stressful at times to me. Hey I was there for over two hours as I was stranded with a flat. Andrew, the service guy, was also a superstar. He let me back in the service area even though I knew I likely should not be there (I work at a car dealership and know the public is not generally allowed back there.) he was very personable; concerned about not marring up my rims; and did a very tricky patch on my tire. Lastly I was shocked to hear there was no charge! If they had the tire I wanted in stock i would have bought one right then and there (I am not a fan of driving on patched tires) even though no matter what they would have charged, my employee discount at my dealership will be cheaper for me. They earned the business. I will go out of my way to recommend them and do business with them in the future!

I was shocked when he told me that there is NO charge! They fix flat tires for FREE! They let me leave my tire there to be repaired while I wemt and run my arrands. When I got back It was all done and ready to go. They informed me that they found that I didnt get a flat but was caused by a stem valve leak. So they replaced it and put a new stem valve in. I was so surprised when they told me that they did it for FREE too!! Really happy and satisfied with the work they did. Great guys! Thank you so much! 5 stars!

Paid for tires that are rated 96w and were supposed to be in stock. They weren t in stock so I had to wait longer and even though we waited they mounted 92h tires on the car. Hard to argue about this and leave the car there another time for another while. Last time it was 10 hours for 2 tires as they didn t actually slot your reservation but mainly just told you end of day. If you bring it in at 8 or 10

Use caution! I highly recommend finding a different tire store. They messed up a tire install and still wanted to charge for their mistake. STAY AWAY!!!! Specifically, Jonathan created the problem and then did his best to hide and not address the problem. This was really poor service to say the least.

Was a few years ago. Great place to go been going for 10 years and new crew is going good NOW 99% of my reviews on here are positive if you check; including my past reviews of this tire store across from Albertsons. I been coming here since 2014. The Old manager Mike was solid as a rock. Good advice and good service. There are new owners, no more bikes to ride home was totally ok. But I got quoted Out the Door price of $878.00. Today I showed up and it was $994.55. Guy literally asked me to punch Pay before commenting on if an oil change happened. Much less new air filter. I waited all day and even called at 12:22 to confirm to check the Air Filter condition during Oil change I requested. I asked if I can bring in my other Honda Element to rotate exact same tires I got here form previous owners. I waiting all day and got the higher price and not even an oil change; even showed the guy when I Called confirm to please check air filter during oil change. I paid way more for way less. I didnt expect the great deal I got last time but at least what I was quoted as out the Door . Now I just committed to 65,000 mile tires that need rotation and I am afraid I will leave it all day again for that and they will forget to to that too and Im wasting another day waiting. Mike the old manager if you see this these people need your help again. I didnt expect the $565 deal in Sept 2021; but I did expect what I was quoted and asked for . Again 99% of my reviews on here including old review fo this place are 99% positive. Will I literally hav not mark my rims to make sure rotations take place here from now on?????? Bummed there were cheaper but I kept loyal to the local spot. Plus I got quoted $29 for a side puncture warranty and just saw they changed $116 as in $29 per tire. Mis leading info. Id honestly prefer to Get my old tires back and start over ..... Bummed....... mike

They fulfilled what they promised. Got my truck serviced and back to me within the time they said they would.

I made an appointment to fix a nail in my tire & had to wait 20 minutes just for them to look at the tire. Thats not the issue though. I was told that the nail was too close to the side wall & he quoted me $422 for a tire that has 1,600 miles on it. Picture of the nail attached. I was very leery about his advice. I went up the street to Allen Tires, paid $35 & got the tire patched.

Had to bring back the car because of bad pressure sensor s, my purchased ones. they installed new ones and did not charge me for extra labor. Friendly, helpful, knowledgeable.

***Updated See Below*** I went online and scheduled a waiting appointment for 3:15. I arrived 15 minutes early per the instructions on the confirmation email. The one behind the counter was very nice and told me my car would be ready in an hour and 15 to an hour and 30 minutes. When I came back an hour and 15 minutes later I fully expected that my vehicle may not quite be ready yet, but I was surprised to find it was still in the parking spot I left it and had yet to be touched. On the electronic board in the front of the store My appointment was listed as a drop off not a waiting customer. The gentleman behind the counter now, was incredulous and said its just an appointment like any other, implying that I had no right to expect my car to be done anywhere near the time I had been promised. And I explain that my appointment was waiting, he still didnt seem to care that they had made a mistake. I have contacted their corporate offices, and well update this review if and when any steps are taken to rectify the issue. ***Update*** The district manager contacted me Monday morning. (The above occurred Friday afternoon) He set me up at another America Tire Depot location and a appointment time of my choosing. The work done at the other location was done well and in a very reasonable time. Ultimately, the company as a whole has worked well to satisfy me, and I will likely use them again although it may be some time before I visit the HB location.

Stranded in my motorhome on a trip. Flat tire. They got me I. And fixed it same day. No charge. How awesome is that? Friendly efficient staff went out of their way to help me. Highly recommended.

Everyone here is always very nice. They complete the work quickly and I do not take any of my cars anywhere else.

Scheduled an appointment on Sunday feb 4th for 4 new tires. I was the first customer, at 9 am. Jillene was by herself and ready. She was already handling the phone, dealing with a glitchy computer, greeting all customers arriving after me. A real multi tasker. I was amazed how she kept her cool and took care of everyone with a positive and friendly attitude. Hats off to Jillene! I hope I got the right spelling =)

The guys were great at American tire. They did a front end alignment and put on two new tires and also patched a hole cause I had a nail in my tire. I will definitely be going back the next time I need something thank you guys.

If I could give no stars I would. I should have trusted my instincts as soon as I pulled in, but I have a unique tire size and with the storm coming I wanted to make sure I had new tires for all the rain. I wish I would have went with a reputable company. They didnt tell me until after I made the appointment and got there that their tire machine was broken and they were walking the tires over to their next door neighbor auto body shop to use equipment.. (RED FLAG) I literally saw them rolling tires over there. Somewhere in the process my rims were damaged. When I tried to address the situation with the manager John Rios. He was defensive and rude. He said it was curb rash when its clearly not. I had dropped by earlier and even the worker said to call/email him about it. Also my car is now saying I have a missing wheel sensor. This has never happened since I have owned the vehicle. Overall, I would strongly advise against purchasing tires from this American Depot location. Save yourself the hassle and invest in a more reputable location that values its customers and delivers on quality.

OMG! I walked in without any prior notice to them. They were kind and gave me a GREAT deal. The whole process took less than an hour. Plus, I left my cell phone with my drivers license, etc., at the store and they held it for me until I got back! Awesome experience and thanks. Definitely see them soon (like tomorrow )

Always great service. Honestly it s hard for a woman to find a trust worthy mechanic that can work on a BMW and not charge an arm and a leg. I have gone here for 2 years now and I have to say never had a problem. Tires , regular maintenance, and breaks always done right. I especially love Tony he always makes me feel welcome. I wouldn t go anywhere else. Even took my daughter shopping for her first car took it there and they told me everything and showed me that the car was not up to standards. So to me they are great and reliable.

They were polite, quick, reminded me of regular maintenance but didn t push any service on me, and they explained what they did and found when servicing my vehicle.
