I called Freedom Automotive for an out-of-province inspection this morning. They told me to come over right away and started working on my vehicle within half an hour of arriving. The inspection took a couple of hours. They also found a live teenage crow under the hood. They gave him some water and put him in a box. When they were done with my car, I took the bird back to his neighborhood and let him go.

Great service! They were prompt, kept us informed, and fixed our car!

Called to get a quote for a transmission fluid exchange, gave me a quote on the phone. I brought my car in, they made sure I had a ride, got it done and it was a quarter of the price compared to the dealership. Amazing service even while the boss is away and theyre crazy busy (for a reason)! Thank you guys!

I arrived in Grande prairie with a bad alternator and after being told it would be days before anyone could replace it I finally found this place ( freedom auto), they got me in immediately at 08:30 and replaced it and was on my way in an hour. Very friendly staff and reasonable priced. Thanks Billy, I highly recommend this company.

Billy saved me over 1000 that the dealership quoted me. He was/is an honest mechanic that will give it to you straight and will me will beat any quote you find in town. He s fair and honest!!! Quick at any service. He kind and compassionate. Inside his shop you can see his love for cars from the classic cruiser to the racer. The inner workings of cats and trucks alike is his passion.

Best shop I have ever brought my vehicle too, Billy diagnosed it within a hour, is was at 3 other shops before bringing to freedom and no luck at finding my issue, I was starting to lose hope on my vehicle until someone recommended me to go to freedom. Lifetime customer here from now on!

These guys totally saved me yesterday! I rolled in from out of town with a truck that shouldnt be driven any further and they squeezed me in right away despite it resulting in them working late to finish their other work. They were so accommodating to myself, and my kids and dogs that happened to be with me at the time, Even sharing treats and bringing water for my pup. Thanks so much for getting us back on the road!

Girlfriend took her truck here with a low oil pressure problem and I was not able to look at it, after trying new sensor (x2 they claimed just to make sure) they came to the conclusion that the truck needed a new oil pump. I was curious as to why the pump would would solve the issue and after questioning him on his logic he told me I can come do the work myself. She was able to get it into a different shop and they had it fixed in a day , oil level was low and they changed out sensor. Still have the quote for the oil pump job worth almost 2k from these guys. Would give 0 stars if possible and wouldn t let these guys work on my wheel barrel.

They got me in next day to fix my breaks. Fast, friendly service and great work!

Called on a monday and needed to get in with very short notice they got me in Thursday morning and even got their guys to stay late to make sure my truck was safe and ready for a 12 hour road trip. They are amazing and i cant recommended them enough. Absolute gems the whole lot of em. Great service and fair prices!

Every time Ive taken my vehicle in to Freedom, Billy and his staff have always treated me fairly and professionally. I have NEVER felt overcharged, nor have I ever felt like I was being taken advantage of, and believe me as a woman walking into a mechanic shop thats a regular occurrence. I will always trust, recommend and use Freedom automotive for all non warranty related work on my vehicle.

My car broke down while travelling through Grand Prairie. The owner helped me right away and didn t take advantage of my lacking in mechanical knowledge. Charged me a very fair price and was honestly just great. Kinda gave me hope in humanity.

Everyone in town booked for at least a week. They took our car in right away and had it fixed in two days. Price was reasonable, Im sure the Ford dealership would have been double.

Billy and Freedom Automotive went above and beyond for me when I was in Grande Prairie with car troubles. Billy was very helpful and friendly and got my vehicle in as soon as he could. I really appreciate it and I will definitely use them again if I ever need to. The shop was clean and had a welcoming feeling.

Had a 10am appointment, didnt get the car in until 1:30. They said an oil change was $60 dollars, and then told me that they put on an extra half hour labour so a $90 dollar oil change... I needed my tire patched and they quoted $30 dollars, and wouldnt even switch the spare to the patched tire without charging me an extra $30. $150 bucks for an oil change and a tire patch plus tax and other fees. I paid $90 for a tire patch and an oil change from my mechanic in Edmonton, and they switched the spare to the patched tire for free) These guys might do a good job, but there are other mechanics that do a good job with fair prices and care about customer satisfaction. Do not recommend them.

They are determined. They will always find the cause of the problem and fix it.Their charges are fair too.

Finding a trustworthy mechanic can be difficult, and this is why I bothered to submit a review. Freedom Auto does not attempt any sort of nonsense, add-on work. They have earned my trust by not only doing good work but also, most importantly, charging only for the work that is needed. For example, the cost of the actual labour is never rounded up, but refelcts the real time required to complete a job.

These guys are awesome! I ve gone here a few times and they ve always taken care of my truck and fixed what needed to be fixed first time around. They will not try to sell you something you don t need. No bull$%it from these guys. Often I ve showed up and Les has been able to book it in right away. I also buy my tires from these guys and have had a few tires fixed. Pretty fast turn around and they will get you in as quick as possible for tire repairs. I live in Edmonton but if I can wait I will only bring my truck to Freedom Automotive. It s nice it s a family run style of business and we should all support the small guy

Fast, professional, and reasonably priced. Brought my suv in sounding like it was 65 and smoking 3 packs a day. Picked her up a few hours later and she sounded and behaved like the first time I drove her. Will recommend these guys to everyone.

Love these guys! I was visiting from out of town when my car sprung a serious oil leak. Two other shops were too busy to see me but Freedom said theyd take a look. 2:30 pm on a busy Friday, I drop my car off. They called by 4:00 pm to tell me what the problem was - free of charge. Im on my way home now with my leak but at least I know how to deal with it. Thanks again Freedom Automotive!

Stranded at motel with car that wouldnt start. Mechanic came to motel, fixed problem and only accepted Tim Hortons Donuts for payment! This kind and honest man saved the day! and the trip!!

The good: Fast work. Pleasant to communicate with. Concerns: Parts (fuel pump driver module) are same cost as dealerships. They work before pricing out what it will be. Asked for what it should cost, Same contact says he will get back to me and next thing you know its repaired heres the bill at our new $109/hr labor rate. I dont appreciate that I got a $750+ bill for this one job without having at least an ability to consider it beforehand. 5 stars for the work 5 stars for the quick turnaround time (same day!!!) 1 star for finally costing things out for me but only after the work was done.

I needed to have my front brake pads replaced as well as my brake rotors. Im new to Grande Prairie and decided to try out this automotive shop. I was quoted $153 plus and extra fee for having my own parts already. when I booked the appointment I was told the service would only take an hour. I brought my car in at 12:30PM and was told it would take a little bit to get it in as the guys were on their lunch break (which was no big deal). I decided to add on an oil change when I got there as well. 4PM rolls around and I still havent heard anything, so I give the shop a call. When I called they said my car was ready so I went back to pick it up. When its time to pay the bill comes to over $300. I understand that I was only given a quote and I added on an oil change, but too pay that much more with no warning is unreal. If a job takes to hours then they shouldnt be quoting one and then charging for two. THEN I get into my car and the ABS light AND the traction control light are both on now (neither of these lights have been on since I bought my car). So I turned around and let them know and they took it back into the shop. After 20 minutes they tell me that I need to replace my speed sensor light, which is a sensor in the area they were working on (another $65 for the part PLUS labour). Once I got home and did some research I find out it is rare for this part to go unless its been damaged. Good job freedom automotive, Im now stuck paying for their mistake. I would never recommend this place

Great small family shop, honest, hard working, and straight to the point. Only place that I will allow to work on my vehicles!!

I was recommended here by a friend and decided to give it a try. Had my timing belt replaced (brought my own parts) and an oil and filter change and thought everything went well. They noticed my rad support was bent, so set back repairs a bit longer, but still reasonable. Less than two weeks after repair, I had a major loss of oil. My transmission cooler line was rubbing against a pulley. A Heavy Duty Mechanic at my work explained that this was due to reassembly. Took my car back in and explained what happened. Asked for a new line and for it to not be jimmied or messed with. Got car back. Was displeased that they didnt wash all the transmission oil off my engine, a/c belt and fan that had sprayed up due to the hose and pulley. Washed it and thought everything was fine. Walked away happy, as I thought I went away with a new hose. Recently, I noticed that my car was leaking again. Now it is due to how they jimmied my old hose. I did NOT get the new hose, and now am loosing transmission oil again. I am replacing both cooler lines and my whole radiator now due to this, as it is leaking from where the cheap hose was put on to my Chrysler cooler line and the connections at the radiator. I will NOT go back. When I thought I was paying someone to FIX something, it would be FIXED, not TEMPORARILY RESOLVED.

My power steering broke in the dead of winter, and the guys at Freedom Automotive got me back on the road in no time. I felt comfortable leaving my car in their knowledgeable hands, and would definitely go back if I had more issues with my car.
