Costco Tires & Auto in Gilroy

Very poor customer service. Made an appointment to have summer wheel and tire combo swapped for all season combo. All tires had been purchased and mounted by this shop. When I arrive for the appointment they refused to do the work. Everything was OEM. I'll take all our business to a reputable shop from now on

Do not get tires here they suck!!!! Had an appointment on Monday and waited 2hrs just for them to tell me that they couldn't do it because they couldn't find the lock key. The following day I purchased a lock key made an appointment for Friday just for them to tell me they ordered the WRONG TIRE SIZE!!!!! DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!

I scheduled a balance and rotation for 2:30 PM. I live over the pacheco pass and drove 45 minutes to my appointment to be told when I arrived if I would like to reschedule or it can take up to 2 hours or longer and that they are not doing services right now. I did not want to have to have the drive, round trip is over 100 miles just to have routine maintenace done. Overall not very satisfied with the level of service. They told me they got busy with other customers, that was a lie, they actually had an 18 wheeler that came to pick up tires or drop tires off and it looked like they were loading tires into the truck. I would not go to lenghts to provide a review but I think this situation calls for it. I have had no issues in the past. Also, if they are aware a pickup/dropoff will occur they should block those times on calendar so customers do not book appointments during that time.

Had an appointment today at 11:00 a.m. Came early at 10:45 and didnt get my car back until 1:45. An hour I dropped off my car I received a call saying that they could not find my lug nut key and without it they could not change the tires. It was in the center console the entire time so either they didn't actually look in the car for it or they just needed an excuse for the delay. Even if the key was lost what kind of tire place doesn't have a super socket to take off lug nuts incase the car owner lost the key. Seems like they are lazy or incompetent, but most likely both. Definitely will not be returning.

Had an appointment for 11. Didn't touch car until 11:50. The guy behind me that came without appointment for a flat fix was done 15 minutes before my car got started. When I brought my car in for a flat without an appointment I was told 3-4 hours. I guess some get preferencial treatment.

I took my car to get new tires, the technician broke a rim bolt which i understand it was an accident but i was expecting them to replace it or at least do something for me, but no. Manager said they don’t do that type of work there and that they were not responsible for it. I called corporate and they told me the same thing, i don’t understand so if there is a damage during a tire service the car owner is responsible for it not Costco ? I ended up paying out of my pocket to replace it. It surprises me for being “COSTCO” but anyway they just lost a client

Brought the car to Costco Gilroy to have tire rotation and balancing today 09/26/2020. They want to overcharge us when our car does not have TPMS. Tried to tell the service person that we just did the same service for our other car a few weeks ago or so here and was charged only $25.99 as many recent Costco reviewers said the same even with TPMS. He did not listen to what we were saying, interrupted us without even looking up from the keyboard, then dismissed it altogether with you-can-cancel-if-you-want-to. To top it off, he asked us to wait, then left the cashier station and did not return. After waiting for a while, we asked the original person who had first rung up for us to just cancel the appt and never mind about the battery that we were going to purchase as well. This is poor professionalism and definitely does not reflect the Costco service that we had come to know and loved. We have brought our car to Walmart just cross the street to have the same service done there while they did our Synthetic Oil Change. With prices list on the wall, they charge $2.50 per tire for rotation and offer lifetime rotation and balance service for only $12.00. Which means less than 2x of regular Costco tires rotation and balancing services. But to get things done in one place and save time, I often drop off my car, go shop, then pick up the car after and call it done. In our almost 40 yrs long having the membership, we often marvel and recommend Costco to everyone because we are very pleased with the professionalism in Costco service level. Needless to say, this was a very disappointing experience. I’d also suggest that Costco Tire & Auto center to post their service prices at the premise, and online, so members can clearly see what the charges will be for which service. We will not return to Costco Gilroy for tires service and hope that Costco Gilroy manager look into this to improve their Tire & Auto service and the pricing aspect.

went there two days ago and looked at tires and got written price. called today to schedule and price is higher. to schedule the tires to be put on I have to go back and pay in person first! no cc over the phone! or I can pay online but that would no doubt generate a different price... they seem to go out of their way to make it difficult to do business with them. scheduled with wheel works instead. over the phone!
