AR Transmission in Fresno

My wife's 2016 Hyundai Elantra had a transmission issue, and they replaced it with a brand-new transmission that came with a one-year warranty or 12,000 miles. The entire process took just four days, and the car was good to go. The cost was reasonable at around $4,200, and the service was incredibly professional and friendly. I highly recommend them.

They do reallyv good work but what they charge for labor is ridiculous. I recommend shopping arund to compare prices because good lord my dad was a mechanic for 40 years and he didn't make THAT much money.....again, they do really good work though.

A few weeks ago the shifting on my car did not feel right. I took it to Lithia Ford to have it checked out at the cost of $250 for a diagnostic. I got a call the next day telling me that I had a "transmission failure" and needed a new transmission, that the "fluid was contaminated" . The cost of a rebuilt or new transmission being between $7,000-$10,000! My car is a 2017 with only 60K miles on it, so I was shocked. I called them back to find out what contaminated the fluid and was told there were some metal flakes in the fluid. I asked if they could do a flush or a drain, and they said they couldn't do that - I don't remember the reason. I told them that I would talk about it with my spouse, but in the meantime that we would be picking the vehicle up. I wanted a second opinion, so I found a highly recommended transmission shop - ARTransmission - and called them. Took it in and they ran another diagnostic - $94 - on it and NO codes showed up. Two different techs drove it, they drained the fluid which was dirty, but they found NO metal flakes in the transmission fluid, told me there is NOTHING wrong with my transmission, and sent me on my way. Steve was great - honest, knowledgeable, personable, and communicative! And, in the future if I need to replace my transmission, their price was well under $7,000 for a rebuilt one! They installed with transmission with first going out, I’ve had nothing but problems after their install, and the best is the cut my warranty because my truck was low which was never mentioned to me. I do not recommend this place unless you want a headache or throw your money away.

Steve was great with email responses on my questions, Car is at the shop now, so far the experience is good, although the cost of a transmission repair is high , it is an investment, right? Will leave a review after all is done and let you know how that went. The work went well, had the car back for 4 weeks or more now, transmission is working great, car is as it was when i dropped it off. No problems. So far so good, any updates i will report back here
