Stress-Free thats just what I was looking for after driving on the freeway and dealing with my Ptsd Im disabled veteran .This is not about my life experience, but I would love to share my experience with Stress- Free Auto care Eric worked with me 4 new tires and a oil change car battery. He went above and beyond anything I could think or imagine. He changed his clothes and changed my tires because he cared about me getting back to the Palo alto va program that Im attending. I was on a pass from the program to get my car fixed and I told Eric that I had to be back by 1pm and He made it happen for me.

Well, I only went there to inquire about a headlight alignment, which I have seen done plenty of times and would honestly do myself if I had enough confidence, but the way the guy shut me down... he basically started off by saying he didnt know if they could do it. Then came back telling me, Well, its gonna be $115 to $230. Just to take a screwdriver and adjust the head light up-and-down??? He didnt provide any explanation as to why all of a sudden he went from him not knowing if he could do it, to all of a sudden giving me pricing. Taken aback I asked, What changed because you just said you didnt know if you could do it? Then I said, And whats $115-$230?? I literally had to inquire about the change in his decision because he offered no explanation whatsoever until i asked. Just came back throwing prices in my face. After I asked he then proceeds to tell me he went and talked to whoever he talked to, and they confirmed that they in fact could do it, but its gonna be a minimum of a $115 to $230... and Im thinking just to put a screwdriver in and tweak it to the left or to the right to adjust the headlights??? I had been to 2 different mechanics already who had done this for me willfully, no charge, they just didnt have, in my opinion, the proper focal point, and the other one closed at 430 well before dark. But here this man is telling me in my face with firmness for no reason, thats his price... that there are 5 other mechanics around him that are cheaper and I was more than welcome to go to them. Im sitting here in their parking lot reading all these reviews raving about Eric. I asked another guy, Was that guys name, Eric? I asked one of the guys standing out there and he said, Yeah and Im thinking to myself why are all these reviews talking about how friendly and helpful he was because I got none of that. Like I said, he was firm for no reason, just like giving me total attitude. Even after I reiterated everything I just went thru with my car and I literally just needed these lights adjusted up or down literally 5 min it would have taken. He didnt give a d*** about my situation. He didnt care nothing about what I had going on. He told me basically they was closing, as I could see (his exact words). So no I wont be going back there. No they wont get a dime out of me. That take it or leave it attitude was completely unnecessary, especially when you pride yourself on stress free interactions and business practices. Like I was bothering him or something... Id rather go spend that $100 with someone who actually cares about their customer service especially new potential customers. He could care less.

Staff is very friendly and will answer as many questions you may have. I have been there twice and the first time I went they helped fixed a problem that a previous place messed up on. From the moment I spoke with Erick over the phone he was very helpful and understanding of my situation and didnt try to pressure me to have a bunch of things fixed at once. Stress Free made sure to send pictures and videos explaining step by step details of what needs to be done and additional texts that lets you know what they are doing from beginning to end. I really appreciate the help I have received and will soon return to get a couple other things fixed little by little thank you for getting right to the work and having it done on time!

I got the tire rotation and oil change service and break inspection service done at the Fremont service center. It was a great experience and I felt the complementary inspection was thorough and well documented and was better than the inspections done at the dealership. Overall would recommend.

I brought my 04 Camry into this shop because it had been giving us some issues and we recently had the need for a second car again. I explained what was happening, why I thought it was happening, what AAA told me was possible, and went from there. Eric humored me on aspects of cars that I wasnt familiar with, let me know what he thought the best course of action was, and tried to only order necessary tests and repairs. I think its a common thought that mechanics will take advantage of your lack of knowledge, and thats what kept me from getting a repair done for all this time, but I never felt like I was being swindled or upsold to purchase services that werent necessary. My car needed some attention, but the proper attention and care was given, and over 30-40 miles since leaving the shop Ive had a seamless driving experience.

Stress Free auto Cate did a great job on my a/c. Its almost too cold now! The shop is clean, customer service is good. Service techs need to put protective paper or something on floors snd seats to avoid leaving grease spots on the car interior. Luckily i was able to clean my seat and door panel with the help of some Folex. Otherwise, all good.

Did an Oil change for BMW 5s. Job was well done.

Messed up my vehicle then gave me terrible service even after recommending them to others (after the mechanics botched the repair that was to be made). I brought my tacoma in about 6 months ago. When I got it back the alignment was so bad that it would have worn through my new tires in a few months. I was asked to drive my vehicle from Fremont to San Jose to get the service that should have already been completed and quality checked internally. This took about 3 hrs to do and they messed this up too. Upon my arrival to San Jo they were unable honor the appointment i made as no one from the fremont office informed them i was coming (even after confirming the appointment with me). I had to reschedule and make a 2nd long drive. I ended up paying out of pocket to wheel works to get it done. So after paying some of the highest service prices in Fremont, I had to spend more hours in traffic than the repair probably took the mechanic to make, and soend an additional 200$ to another company for services i had already paid stress free to make. This would all be fine as the old manager was kind and apologetic and made me feel like they cared. This all changed this morning. I went in to request a proposal arriving at 9:50. The counter person did not seem to keen on helping me. He was moving pretty slow and just didnt seem like he wanted to be at work that day. I requested the proposal at which point he walked away and didnt tell me where he was going or how long it would take. At that point I let him know about the alignment issue from before so he would hopefully pay closer attention. That some how got his goat. He got pretty upset and just stared at me, after starting a few times he started acting all super passive aggressive. Some examples; As soon as he got mad he took 2 separate phone calls and walked out of the room. When he came back in, the things he was saying to the customer made it sound like he didnt know what he was doing yeah this blows me away too but its on the front and back and I can send you the report the tone made you think it was a price gouging tactic. Another lady who was waiting before I came walked up to the counter. He helped her and even offered to make a quick proposal if she could wait a couple min, at which point he looked at me. Obviously he was trying to get under my skin, which he did. He tried to rake me over the coals for bringing up the alignment thing at which point I told him that lets get past that and get the proposal going. I grabbed a card and asked him if he was the manager, he did not answer, and I think he wanted me to think he was. So I asked him how much he makes to see if the salary was a managers... He asked me to go to another car repair shop. With that kind of service I was happy to oblige. This is the young Latina man who was working the opening shift on 7.11.24. Def this guy is doing damage to your brand. Train him better or replace him. These kinds of employees are ticking time bombs for liability reasons. Plenty of sales training out there on handling objections professionally. My opinion of this company before this morning was that they are great. Now I think Im not the only one having these kinds of experiences. I will def not be returning and letting everyone I know about the terrible service I received this morning.

My family has been going to this shop for more than 20 years, even back when it was Bobs Auto. Steve has been helping us out for years and theres nobody we trust more. I was considering buying a used car and took it to them to inspect beforehand. They were thorough and took the time to talk to me about what they found and how significant it was. It ended up saving me about $1,500 when I went back to the dealer and pointed out the issues. Ive also had great experiences with Erick, hes taken care of me with every issue and worked with me to schedule times to get my cars in. Hes given me real suggestions about my options and what things might cost so I can make the best decision. They are always fast and Ive always felt like they are taking care of me. My family and I will keep going back!

My ac in my truck stopped working over the weekend so I stopped in Monday and spoke with Eric about getting my truck serviced. He was able to get me in first thing Tuesday morning. He gave me costs up front so I knew what to expect, and then also called and texted updates with their findings and what was needed to make the repair. A couple leaks were found in my ac system that were repaired and the system was recharged with Freon. I now have cold ac again. Overall, I was very pleased with the service.

A pleasant experience . I went in for an oil change for my Lexus. The service advisor was very knowledgeable and provided a comprehensive diagnostic report with pictures and recommendations.

I went to the shop last week for an oil change. The shop offered a free digital vehicle inspection, and based on the report with pictures and recommendations, I learned that the cabin air filter and spark plugs need to be replaced. Erick was very professional and knowledgeable, explaining the details thoroughly according to the manufacturers specifications. It was a very pleasant experience. I am impressed by Erick and his team s professional work and the friendly environment. Overall, I am very happy with the service.

Went to the shop 2 weeks ago for routine maintenance and brake pad replacement. Was initially hesitant to replace the brake pads due to the cost, but Erick was very understanding and accommodating about the situation and kindly made it more affordable. Also thanks to Ralph for showing me the conditions of the brake pads as well as fixing everything promptly. I left the shop with a safer vehicle the same morning. Overall, very satisfied with the services.

Great experience, I brought my car in for a brake pad replacement, but they did an inspection and determined I didnt need it. My car had gone into the dealership for a recall, and ever since then it has idled poorly and had other minor engine issues. I took it to the dealership multiple times and they always said there was no issue. Stress-free did a full inspection and identified the issue and fixed it the same day. So far the engine feels back to normal! Very happy with the quick service and price was very reasonable!

My review is for Erick and Steven, both who were very helpful and kind during my visit for an oil change. Ive never had an oil change with such level of transparency where during the inspection they take pictures of everything and explain each part at the end, whether or not something needs fixing or not. I greatly appreciate how they leverage Google and other auto data sources to follow for my cars specific recommendations without pushing you to buy into anything. They take a more informative approach and it really shows they do try to be stress-free indeed. Some extra points that they go above and beyond is they have a rather clean and comfy waiting area with WiFi, station if you need to work, they email you the inspection pictures and info after your visit, and Erick not only for me but for others too, likes to put a discount on top of excellent service.

Bob s Auto staff are extremely helpful, personable, and knowledgeable. Communication is unbeatable. Small town hospitality in a city I was unfamiliar with. They even did a courtesy full body inspection of my truck! When my truck was broken into and damaged to the point I couldn t start it, I looked up auto repair near me to have it towed there. The most convenient and efficient auto shop!

Couldn t have been more impressed with service. The staff was friendly and did brake pad inspections at no cost. They looked over the entire car for other issues and prepared a super helpful digital vehicle inspection which included pictures of everything that needs replacing.

Mystery of a new battery going dead...solved quickly, just for the analysis fee...retrieving and replacing a broken dip stick required taking the head off and a new head gasket..done quickly, at a reasonable cost. My old 1999 car loves Stress Free!

Very transparent and quick service

Under new ownership since last year. Growing pain: Not even close to level of service as before when it was Bob who ran the place. No longer can you get quote for specific service online. I had to call twice to get a quote which is about 40% higher than dealer for same service in my case. As an independent shop they will need lots of work with respect to communication and pricing if they want to compete against authorized dealer.

For years my husband and I having been going to Bob s Auto for all repairs. Finding that Steve was still there, I felt comfortable about trying Stress-free Auto Care. Front desk, Paul, was very courteous and helpful. Very up dated on technology and kept me informed thru the process. I was concerned about a couple other items besides an oil change but they reported back stating work not needed. I feel that they are honest and I will use their service in the future.

Avoid at all costs. This place is anything but stress-free. Brought my car in on last Friday for brakes and oil change. Picked my car up and drove home then noticed a scratch and dent on the driver side. Went back up to the shop and they asked me to go to a body repair shop they work with to get an estimate of the damages. I went and it was pretty significant for the amount of damage. But then AFTER seeing the estimate FROM THEIR RECOMMENDED SHOP, they told me they wont be fixing my car because I left the parking lot already. I will now have to sue them to rightfully fix my car. The person who scratched my car knows that they did it and the corporate people at this company are protecting them. They assume people do not have the resources to sue them.

I love using Stress Free Autos web-based scheduling. Its so easy to pick a day and time that fits my schedule and without a phone call, being on hold, or voice mails. I was able to get an appt for an oil change on the same day. Servicing is quick and easy. Waiting in the lounge is convenient. I could have a video chat with a friend using the wi-fi, drink complimentary hot chocolate, and snack on a bag of chips while I waited. I got regular text updates as to the status of my car. I sort of miss the old-fashioned ambiance of Bobs, but do not miss having to find friends to bring me there and drop me off because there was no comfortable place to wait. The new staff treat me nice, and I love having technician Steve work on my car. I recommend Stress Free Auto / Bobs Auto Repair without hesitation.

We are very happy with the professional service we receive when we have our cars serviced. Everyone we encounter is welcoming and friendly. It gives us great peace of mind to know our cars are well maintained and safe.

I went with Initial Diagnostics with $180 as my car was giving Jerks when riding the car. As per diagnostic report they recommended to replace Transmission assembly with total costs $7500. I am totally lost my mind when I heard it, as I bought this car as 2nd owner for $6500. Latest update: 12/19 - I have taken the car to other service center and they said its just a false Alert. They charged $70 for Diagnostic and its been more than 2 months and same car is running without any issues.

WOW! GREAT SERVICE! Others have mentioned how honest they ate, but I want to talk about how friendly they are, and how important that can be. My elderly in-laws car wouldnt start, even after a replacement battery from AAA just 9 months ago. I found the oil-change reminder postcard from Bobs Auto repair for their 96 Toyota Camry and called to schedule an appointment. Chris, the woman I talked to, was SO warm, friendly & helpful. She looked up their record, knew of the problem that other elders in our neighborhood had with dead batteries & talked about possible solutions after it was checked out. I told her I had to travel down from SF to jump my in-laws car before I brought it over, so she scheduled me midday so I could beat the traffic. Steve, the mechanic greeted me & put on a mask before we talked. I dropped off the car & went to Roundtable for pizza. Before I had finished my green pepper, garlic & black olive pizza, he had changed the oil and determined the problem. A bad battery! He could have sold me a new battery, but he pointed out that AAA should replace it for free. He knew they might argue with me about it so he provided the battery test paperwork to give them to prove the battery was the problem, NOT the alternator. Chris had told me that some of her elderly clients had a gadget they hooked up to their cars to trickle charge the battery since they dont drive often. But she said to be careful since you have to remember to unplug them! Considering they have memory problems, that could be a problem! When I got back to my in-laws I called AAA. They took over an HOUR to come out. The car started, since it had just been running. AAAs tech was going to make me drive it around, BUT I HAD BOBS BATTERY TEST PAPERWORK! (See attached) The AAA tech said that because I had that, I didnt have to drive the car around or wait for the next time it didnt start. (Which was likely to be an emergency and I wouldnt be there to get a new battery). The battery was replaced for free, my in-laws didnt have to deal with AAA and their car was lubed and running smoothly. I also asked about fixing the hydraulics on the hood, since it wouldnt say up, he said he could order them & gave me a good price, I decided the stick i was using would be more cost effective. BOTTOM LINE Their friendliness, knowledge of the issues and understanding of their clients needs was wonderful. Chris and Steve did more than just fix a single problem with my in-laws car, they helped me deal with the other downstream problems caused by the circumstances of not driving much during the pandemic, saved them money and helped to prevent future problems. Bobs Auto is by far the best mechanic around. They are so honest and lets you know what needs to be done without upselling you. Pricing is great and very reasonable the added customer service is a home run.
