Honest mechanics

Very disappointing situation , People work here are not trained and well experienced/qualified . Beware of your vehicles if you choose this location. Management is also bit rude , and they care about money .

I took an appointment today for tire changing wheel alignment and brakes inspection I left my car from 10AM and supposed to pick it up at 13:30 when I went they didn t started any thing yet. They waist my time.

I got the brakes done in Dec and car was shaking after that. I thought it may be due to new brakes and took it back there in May. After inspection they said they I need new rotors, looks like they machined the rotors in Dec and likely ruined them and wanted to charge crazy price now to change the rotors. This place is a ripoff. Stay away.

This shop is one of the best midas shop. This mechanics shop is the best, the services are incredibly friendly and the boss of the shop is one of the best bosses one can say.

Best service ever

I made an appointment for an oil change. When I made the appointment, I told them I had a coupon for $34.99 synthetic blend oil which they said they would accept. When I brought the car for service to the Fremont location, they refused to honor the coupon (issued by Midas) saying my car required only full synthetic oil. That is not true as my cars manual clearly says that either synthetic blend or full synthetic could be used and I serviced the car previously at Midas in San Bruno where they used synthetic blend. I did not want to pay double for unnecessary expensive oil and serviced my car at a different shop.

They charged a lot more than supposed to be.

After a failed attempt at another Midas called here He said come over , worked on my car right away, Did the screws tighten it as much as possible. Said I need new clamps I will get them and he will put them on. No problem in and out with no hesitation a lot better than when I came in.

The window glass wasn t working, so my boys took the car in to have it checked. They literally charged $180 for a diagnosis. Total $730 estimate to replace the motor in the door. We took the L and went to another place that did the same job for $335. Either they took the boys for granted or just overpriced.

Be careful about your card numbers! Today i went this store for vehicle inspection and i decided to pay with my debit card. The guy in front desk didn t allow me to put my card to pos machine and take my debit card to his hand. He looked back of the my card and instantly put some numbers to computer with his other hand. I m suspicious about he wrote my cvv numbers to computer. After that I quickly open my bank app and claimed new card. I don t trust them. I m never back this store. So be careful guys

Taken C300 for EIS problem ie Steering does not get unlock, so engine does not crank/start. I told clearly its EIS problem, need to repair it. Charged for diagnostic fee $180 where other MIDAS charges only $99. After diag, it was told that yes, its EIS problem, and we cannot repair, pls take it to dealer. If they dont have expertise on Mercedez, they should say upfront, instead just take car for diag and charge double. Just paid and came. very unsatisfied. I do NOT recommend Washington MIDAS for sure.

They are okay but very expensive then Walmart. They used same oil as Walmart but charge double. Very few people may be noticed that . For same oil chnage walmart charge like 50 bucked they charged $150 .

I did not use their service that day though that was due to my schedule and their availability. Though I have to say when I called they picked right up and were pleasant. When I arrived they checked me in quickly and when I found out how long it was going to take (I didnt have the time to wait unfortunately) they were still nice. I will be going back when I have more time but overall great crew there.

The guy at reception hates his job and customers.

Very bad experience.

My brakes started squealing and decided to try out Midas. I selected a date and time to bring in my car through their website and received a call the next morning verifying my appointment. Its easy to find, although you need to be westbound on Washington Blvd in order to turn into the shop due to a median barrier eastbound. The lot was overcrowded with random vehicles, but luckily, I found a parking spot. Arriving at the appointed time, Allen greeted me, and got the paperwork going so they could do a brake evaluation. After about half an hour in the waiting room, the mechanic comes out to speak with Allen and I as to what was needed to get the brakes fixed - in other words, their front disk brake package. I signed another authorization, then walked to a nearby restaurant. Just as I was finishing up lunch, my phone rings, and voilà...the car is ready! Total time spent was about two hours. The detailed invoice listed exactly what was done (pads, caliper slide service, rotors, etc) plus an unexpected manager discount on parts and labor. Most definitely the place to go when your brakes are calling out for service.

I brought my car here for the first time today and I just wanted to express how great the customer service is here. Allen explained thoroughly what they were going to check and even called me several times giving me updates. My car was fixed pretty quick and the price he quoted was reasonable. I will continue to bring my car here for maintenance. Highly recommend this place!

Client for some years service for my cars last year visited the place with the same car in less than two weeks bill almost 1000 dollars people did not discount any discount coupon or special price talk to manager and owner of this midas was upset by the request that I gave him my discount coupon or special price since it was almost 1000 thousand dollars in the two services they told me annoyed I do not like how you are treating me I simply said thank you and I will not request your service again I do not recommend it

I went for Uber inspection online ad is $25 at Fremont Midas price $35 on vehicle inspection to replace license plate bulb guy coated me $47 to change the bulb I called it unfair I will never come again to this Midas rip-off mentality

I drove my car to that Midas Fremont from Mountain View. They are really rude. There were a fat man believe me guys, he is a bad guy. Please dont go there. I returned to Mountain View and I went to another Midas on El Camino (Sunnyvale). These men are very nice. Thank you Sunnyvale Midas.

Worst service ever. The person asked me to drive to the workshop for an appointment but turns out he just wanted to check if I had an appointment online, what?! Then he suggested I wait for the next available slot. This was the worst experience.

At the end of February my cars clutch went out and needed to be replaced. I was recommended to go to this particular Midas by my co-workers. I was in a big hurry to go back down to southern California and the managers were trying to make that happen. Had some problem with the parts being delivered but the shop did their best with the situation that they were in. I went to get the parts at Subaru and well everything that went bad did go bad. Even though all the things went bad, they did their best to keep the price as low as possible. The clutch specialist Danny did a good job. My clutch came really a stiff and it is hard to get use to but that is just relearning how the new clutch works. I am very happy with the accomodations this shop was making for me and do recommend this shop to anyone in the area.

I came to them for repairing my right front head light bulb. The manager working there was unfriendly and always complaining to his customers. After the completion of the service, the manager failed to explain to me what happened to my car. He also let people who came later than me cut into the line. Stay away from those people go somewhere else!

Rude and unprofessional service. Within 2 weeks of replacing my front light bulbs, the passenger side bulb burst. When I came in to get the bulbs replaced, I was greeted with disrespect and hostility by the manager. After going to the store I bought the bulbs from, it was determined that both light bulbs were installed incorrectly and the driver side bulb would soon burst. Despite this information, the store was only willing to remove and replace the passenger side bulb after a 2 hour wait. Within one month, the driver side bulb burst as well. Management is extremely incompetent and unprofessional; Do not come here for any car repairs. I recommend Irvington Auto Services instead.

wont go here again! am not a person who gives reviews. my experience here prompted me to give this. he said price for a service is $XX...will go higher soon and that service is mandatory especially in california. i said thats way too much for that service...everything is getting expensive here and people should leave CA. he can tell i wasnt born here. he said everyone should leave CA and go back to where they came from! CA is so diverse and if he doesnt want to deal with diverse cultures, he can advertise his services are only for people he wants to serve.

I brought my own oil, my car takes 4.4 quarts they put the whole 5 quarts in.

Didnt use proper quality oil.

Ive come here multiple times over the last 6 years and they always do good work on both my Corvettes and my Challenger. Theyre quick and Ive yet to see anyone there having a problem. Rich is a great guy and stays on top of everything going on.

Average service. Prices are a little high. Make sure you keep your receipts for warranty claims.

The worst experience they try to eat customers money, then don t even suggest the right issue, they will replace whole thing and try to get more money. I don t suggest this.

They charged me $74 for the oil change and tire rotation. They confirmed twice that they had rotated the tires, but I found they did not. One of the tires was repaired several weeks ago, and still had white marks on it. I noticed that tire was in its original position, not rotated yet. I told the cashier that they did not do the tire rotation, and the cashier finally admitted that and gave an excuse which was not acceptable.

Worst service. Today I went for my Tyre flat. They charged $30, they accept only cash and they didnt give any bill/receipt . Even though they didnt patch, they just fill the air.

The owner was very helpful gave me a great deal on my alternator and serpentine belt and Ryan the auto tech shot out to him for getting it done thx guys definitely recommend this shop to anyone in a bind

showed up with my camaro and my own oil + filter...they where cool with that and allowed me to watch them change it out while making sure they didnt hurt my baby ;-) price for the job was reasonable as well.

Their store manager wanted to charge me synthetic oil for my Toyota Matrix oil change, but this car doesnt require synthetic oil. Conventional oil will do because I went to dealer and other Midas stores before. they said this car does not require synthetic oil. Of course synthetic will do better protection. Conventional 5w20 oil is good my Toyota. This store Manager told me go to Lube Boys for this kind of oil change service. Not sure why this Midas sent me post card to tell go there for oil change. I think this store wants to do major repair instead of regular maintenance???

The owner Rich is very friendly and will go out of his way to help you. I highly recommend going to him. I myself have several cars Mercedes, BMW and Toyota. Rich took care all of them and saving me thousands of dollars compared to going to dealers.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR TO THESE GUYS. I was quoted at a grand to get my car started again as they told me Id need a new fuel pump and that the car wouldnt start without that being done. The next day, before they had a chance to clock in the three and a half hours they said it would take, I had the car towed to another mechanic in Fremont who received rave reviews and they were able to start it right up, which means that Midas had gotten the car started when I wasnt there. I read the reviews for Midas and most of them refer to them as liars and cheats. Ill never go there again, no matter what. Thank God, I dodged that bullet. It pays to pay attention to reviews, people!

This dude snitched on me to my boss trying to save his own ass. I was there about 7 hours. I kept hearing its almost done throughout the entire day. Had to finally go out to the garage where they were working on it at about 5:30pm (30 minutes after they had closed) and still didnt leave till about 15-20 minutes later. I was watching the truck and he was sitting in another car and I had to inform him a fluid was coming out of a container (I believe it was the coolant). He could have informed me that it was going to take all day and I could have left the truck there and done something productive with my time. When my boss inquired why it took so long, he blamed it on me. I did stop at my house about 70 miles away and then came straight to his shop. I did this becsuse the truck needed to be driven 100 miles or more...the dude himself even said it could take up to 200 miles. I exaggerated how I went home and chilled and bragged a bit about it, and he used that to throw me under the bus. He even said Im out of it today after messing up another persons info...a customer had called earlier and he completely forgot the phone conversation they had when the customer took his car there in person. I was there while this conversation took place. For these reasons, I give this place 1 star. Luckily I did not get fired but this very well could have cost me my job.

Mechanics dont know anything did a tire rotation and torqued the lug nuts right with an impact gun then was insulted by the mechanics and because then I decided to get my car fixed somewhere else they had my car towed worst shok ever highly suggest to go somewhere else

DO NOT COME HERE!! Liars and Cheats! Multiple bad experiences. We have lifetime Oil Changes (program is now gone, but we have it grandfathered on 2 of our Vehicles still). Its obvious that they do not want to deal with us since they make nothing from changing our oil. They constantly want to upsell (ie: Transmission flush and replace, brakes, etc...) I always tell them that I have a mechanic who does our major repair work, we use Midas to simply change our oil. Whenever they tell me a problem that they see with our vehicle we take it down to our mechanic who ALWAYS tells us... its fine, theres nothing that needs to be done. On one oil change, we got home and I noticed that it smelled horrible when getting out of car, I took a look under hood and noticed that oil sprayed all over engine and under hood. Looked more closely and noticed that the dipstick was never replaced and was missing. Called Midas and they told me to come on down, and that they had it in their shop... Ooops they apologized saying it was a mistake. Its gotten more frustrating because now they apparently dont want our business... At least on weekends... (Even if they are slow). They will check us in and say they can do the job, but once they realize that we have the lifetime oil change they backtrack saying they are busy, and that we need to call in to schedule an appointment, and that they only do lifetime oil changes Monday - Friday. NO WEEKENDS? I never signed up for that! They claim that it was on the contract and go to back and read it. I do recall it saying to call to schedule appointments, but nowhere does it say that work can not be done on weekends. We usually call in before arriving to see if they are booked up and if they have any open stalls. Be forewarned, if you come to this shop be prepared to see a padded invoice with unnecessary repair work. Before agreeing to the work, I strongly recommend getting a 2nd opinion from a trusted mechanic.

I had a TPMS issue that started a few months after this Midas serviced my car (regular checkup). Once I explained exactly what PSI levels Id been using, they knew what was going on and gave me a quick lesson on finding out my cars recommended PSI levels. It was much easier to locate than trying to read the sides of my tires! Once we established my tires were OVERinflated, a nice gentleman did a quick deflate on them all and I was on my way.
