Wally Kennedy Auto repair in Freedom

I recently moved to the Watsonville area and was struggling to find a reasonably priced, reliable mechanic. On the recommendation of a friend, I tried Wally's shop and I'm so glad I did! My old Hyundai received an oil change and smog in about an hour, while I enjoyed a lovely conversation. Bonus, very clean bathroom!

Great service. Wally is very kind, professional and is to the point. That is something I greatly respect and appreciate. I feel comfortable with his assessment of my vehicle, the cost and the service he provided. I highly recommend Wally Kennedy Auto Repair.

Yesterday, April 7th 2025, I stopped by Wally's to make an appointment for smog on my 1989 Toyota Camry and he took me in right then. I was out in no time with a passed smog... Wally and the Mrs. Wally were so nice it made the uncertainty bearable... Thank you so much. 😃😃

Guy who answered the phone was instantly irritated when I called. Started yelling at me that he didn't have time for this and called me a "fool". Told me not to bother him "anymore". What kind of customer service is this? What the hell is wrong with people??? I had never called this guy before in my life. Not even sure if he's good at fixing cars, but I'll never do business here.

We were in a pinch. Our alternator went out just as we were leaving Sunset campground. After being referred to this place, i was glad we went. They took care of the issue, actually had preordered the alternator so "we didnt have to wait" (his words) and had us back on the road in no time. Even though we were desperate and prepared to be taken advantage of, Wally treated us fairly and took great care of us. If i could give 10 stars, i would. Its nice to see there are still good, decent and honest people out there. Thank you Wally.

My father took all our vehicles to Wally Kennedy and built a great relationship d a great relationship in that time. When i got my first car my dad sent me here for a smog check and said hed take care of me. Since then everytime I need a smog or anything else I go straight to Wally Kennedys auto repair and he fits me in everytime. I love this place, the owners are incredible peope and very knowledgeable. I highly recommend Wally's to everyone in need of help with their vehicles.

I’d taken my car to this person a few times for smog service and I guess I picked the wrong day to come in. He was short tempered and rude. I’d never recommend this person to anyone for anything even if he was the last mechanic in Santa Cruz county...

Great customer service ....always greeted with a smile , honest and.... fair prices for smogs...me and family been going for about 5 years and no complaints
