Great service. Took 3 heads for my Porsche 911. One ended up having a crack. The other 2 heads were cleaned and resurfaced. Fast turn around time. Steve and the guys working there are professional and informative. Sending them more business!

Had an awful experience. Dropped off my car with engine problem, one of the lifters failed. When picked up the car, engine was fixed, but drive line, two piece drive shaft were broken, and tiers have thread. Confronted the owner of auto shop. He denies everything. who broke then? New repair $3800. Wish I could give this place one star 👎👎👎

I don't usually write reviews, but I just had one of the best experiences ever! I own a 1972 Ford F-250 with a coyote swap in it and its extremely hard to find shops that understand custom builds like mine. Because of that, my truck had been sitting in my backyard for the last year due to an issue with the fuel system. I was told to call Steve at Clarks and sure enough, within 3 hours of the first day the problem was identified and literally a day later was ready to go. Shop is super clean and Steve is honest and knowledgeable when it comes to vehicles like mine. I would highly recommend him for anyone looking for a great mechanic shop that does custom work.

I have worked with Clark's since I moved to the bay area on some restorations, upgrades and general safety maintenance on my 1958 Chevy Impala. I would highly recommend this establishment for classic car care. I discussed my goals, budget and timelines and the results were amazing! Clark's stands behind their work no question, and they do great work! Attention to detail, and a real passion for these cars of a bygone era. 👍

Great place. I'm a car guy and do a lot of my own work. I don't have a machine shop and that's where Clark's comes in. Steve knows his sht. He is very knowledgeable about rebuilds and engine repair and great resource for knowledge as well work. I've sent numerous LSx engine work to him and I always get a great high quality engine or machine work back. Been going to his shop for years. Prices are reasonable and predictable and customer service is on point.

Best service I've encountered. As a self-taught mechanic, I am very picky with how my truck is repaired and maintained. The guys at Clark's really know their stuff and respect both my knowledge and truck when I bring it to them (when I can't solve the issue). Every single time I take my truck here, it is well cared for, looked after, and runs like new without other issues. The techs even comment on things they notice that need attention and always ask me before fixing it. Most times, if it's an easy fix, they just do it without additional charge. The photo attached is of my '97 Ford Explorer 4.0L SOHC. The timing chain guides needed replacing. Took them 3-4 days to replace them, but was well worth the wait. My truck now purrs like the day she came off the assembly. I've been to many other shops in the past (prior to Clark's), but this is now my #1 choice and won't go anywhere else. Highly recommend Clark's Auto for any repairs or mods for your engine, trans, suspension, and more. Thanks again guys! Really appreciate your work!

Awesome machine shop got my heads done up perfectly. I had some pretty shoty heads that I bought for my Subaru and decking was done up bad. Had them deck the heads a d port the exhaust and intake and it makes great power now. Would definitely go there again for head work.

Really good!

I had a horrible experience! Clark s Automotive charged me around 5k for a valve job because my Jeep was throwing a piston error code. After getting the car back from Clark s after the initial repair I realized that if I accelerated too fast the car would kick into limp mode. I took the car back to Clark s and they could not figure out the issue. The car was throwing a camshaft position sensor error. Clark s kept trying to replace the camshaft position sensor but was unable to fix the issue. The 2nd time I took my car into get repaired for the limp mode issue, Clark s returned my car and it was now in permanent limp mode. Every time I took my car into Clark s to remedy this issue it got worse. The owner who was handling my issue said he thought I needed a new PCM, I bought the 300 hundred dollar part, Clark s installed it and then the car no longer started. I literally had to have my car towed to a dealership because Clark s had no idea what the issue was and honestly they had already been paid so I think they just wanted to be done with my car. I ended up taking the car to a Jeep Dealership, they figured out that the PCM fuse had shorted when Clark s had try to install the new one. So the fuse was replaced, the new PCM was working but the Jeep was still in permanent limp mode and the issue was not PCM related. The dealership charged me another 750 dollars to figure out that Clark s had blown the PCM fuse. I ended up taking my Jeep to Big O Tires in Dublin CA, because the price would be much lower than the dealership to diagnose the limp mode issue. Big O Tires master mechanic pinpointed the issue within an hour. Turns out the wiring to the Camshaft sensor had broken very possibly when Clark s removed the valve covers during the initial repairs. The wiring was replaced for an additional 475 dollars and my car was almost back to normal. I started noticing that the car was burning oil, turns out the new low quality 3rd party valve cover gaskets Clark s installed during the initial valve job repair were bent and leaking onto my exhaust pipes. This repair cost me an additional 200 bucks for valve gasket replacement because these parts were still under warranty, otherwise it would of cost an additional 1k for parts and labor. All in all Clark s shoddy mechanical work cost me an additional 2k in repair costs. The original low quality repairs ended up costing me a total of around 7k, instead of 5k. Honestly I really don t like leaving poor reviews but when you pay 5k dollars and your car has multiple new issues caused by the original repairs, potential customer should know the risks of doing business with Clark s Automotive.

unprofessional and does not operate to bureau of automotive repair standards. took my cylinder head in for resurface. told me would take a week , took 3 weeks. stated will call you back 4 times, not once did he call me back. didnt even call to tell me its done and ready for pick up. and what takes the cake told me a price over the phone, I agreed , when I come to pick up he increases the price . this is against bureau of automotive repair code and I will be filing a complaint. dont go to this place there are better shops to go to.

Fixed an air conditioning issue on our Honda Odyssey. Quick and cost effective. Did the job at a cost that was a fraction of what the dealer wanted to just investigate.

This place is has been well established. I came in to have my brakes fixed and they did so within a day or two. They were attentive with my concerns and responded with direct affirmation with the issues of my car. If you want an HONEST shop, this is the one! It has been years since I have come across a shop that is real and on the level.
