Down-to-earth hotel offering simple rooms & an outdoor pool, plus free breakfast & Wi-Fi.
Nice location near downtown Carmel, but service was inadequate and highly unprofessional. Due to a spill, we asked for new bedding at about 4:30 pm and the front desk said housekeeping had left for the day and they only had access to blankets and pillows. When I asked if there were any other options other than sleeping on a bare mattress, the reply was, "What did you expect for this price?" Also disappointing that a two-room suite had only one bathroom.
We loved this wonderful little hotel!! The staff were so personable and helpful. Having an easy working fireplace and balcony with a stunning view was the icing on the cake!! Can’t recommend enough, we were sad to leave!!
I booked the Fireplace Oceanview Suite for my parents 35th Anniversary and they had the best time! The location of the hotel was so convenient and they really enjoyed the breakfast! But their room was really the highlight. At the end of each day exploring Carmel, they were able to unwind in front of the fireplace or relax and watch the sunsets on the AMAZING balcony. Very spacious and the views were truly spectacular. The hotel was a perfect stay for them, easy check-in, great breakfast, beautiful, affordable, highly recommend.
Very convenient location, walking distance to restaurants and shops. Room was clean, though slightly dusty/stuffy. I asked for additional sheets around 5pm for a crib and the front desk said they didn’t have access to sheets after 3pm. Seems like staff should have access to essential items even during “off times.” I wish the breakfast room with a microwave could be open outside breakfast hours so we can use the microwave freely - this would be helpful for families with kids to heat up food. Staff nearby were nice and allowed me to use the microwave.
On a trip along the coast, found this gem and had the most wonderful 2-day stay. The gentleman at the desk was so nice and helpful and our room (with Fireplace and view of the bay) was perfect. Extremely clean and the most comfortable bed we’ve ever slept in. Highly recommend this hotel.
We liked the room. The bed was a bit hard for me personally. The location was great for walking downtown and there is a deli right next door which was convenient for groceries. The breakfast buffet was ok. The only problem was the noise. It is right off the main drag and the walls between the rooms are thin so the room is fairly noisy at night. In the morning you could hear water running clearly as people woke up. Sleeping was definitely a challenge.
Room pretty outdated. Bathroom needs a remodel shower very tight and hot water almost non existent. No a/c witch was ok cause wasn't hot. Bed was very comfortable. Only thing made worth the price was the view. Other than that pretty much like a motel 6. Lady at checkin was awesome got us in early after long day of travel. Great location to everything. Overall good stay just need to update rooms little.
Motel 6 level room for extremely high price. Sliding glass door doesn’t lock so keep your belongings in the car. Front desk staff is nice. Water temp in the shower is on and off cold. The fan makes a crazy loud noise that will amplify any hungover. Room is tiny and shower head is about 5ft. Don’t stay here.
Walkability: Very close to Ocean Ave and the beach! Rooms
The location is good, and the friendly service from the front desk staff made my day start pleasantly. The bathroom is spacious, which is nice.
I chose this place because all the accommodations here are expensive, but its good value for money.
Comfortable room, easy parking, excellent service!
The Room was very clean and the front desk was very helpful Id definitely stay here again
Would have been perfect but my room was next to the stairs and it was so loud all night. Breakfast was good Rooms: Nice rooms Walkability: Very walkable area
Room had balcony with ocean view and a gas fireplace. Rather comfortable and cozy. Noteworthy details: Located right in the town. Within walking distance to all the shops, restaurants and the beach.
The rooms were nice and clean. Breakfast was simple but filling. It s centrally located in Carmel and we d come again for a weekend stay. Safety: It felt very safe. Walkability: Very close to everything in Carmel - 15min walk to beach. Food and drinks: Simple but good breakfast.
Very attentive service, good breakfast, and the location is truly unbeatable. Very central, within walking distance of the beach and the sea. The only drawback is the rooms, which are unfortunately very noisy, and you can hear every word from the next room. Please note: no air conditioning. Nearby activities: Beach and shops within walking distance
Older rooms but at Great location very close to everything. A bit of views with some rooms. Fantastic guests service at a very reasonable rate!
The hotel team are amazing, professional, helpful and truly kind, this hotel is in the best location someone can be in or want to be in carmel, only thing thats missing is provably a little kitchenette. Otherwise it was a pleasant stay during car week 2024.
Stayed for 3 nights and was not happy with our stay. The only good thing about this place is location. Paid for ocean view and got a partial ocean view if we looked between the trees. There was a problem with their boiler. The water would fluctuate to extremes and when we called in to front desk they said they would check it out. Nothing changed. Their wifi wasn t working properly either. When we brought up our concerns to front desk they said to email manager not even an apology for all the issues. Emailed the manager a week ago no reply no effort to try and rectify the situation. There are so many other places to stay in Carmel by the sea next time choosing a hotel that actually cares about their customers.
Wonderful place to stay!
For the price it should have air conditioning, the TV, the quality is very bad, the minibar is very old, we asked for a horrible extra folding bed, the bed had to remove the mattress and sleep on the floor, as I said for the price it should have been better, I didnt like it Rooms: For the price it should have air conditioning, the TV, the quality is very bad, the minibar is very old, we asked for a horrible extra folding bed, the bed had to remove the mattress and sleep on the floor, as I said for the price it should have been better, I didnt like it
We decided to take a trip down to this lovely little town for a few days and this cute Inn had rooms available for an excellent price! We called to book a room and the price they offered beat all of the websites by quite a bit. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. The Inn itself was very cute and conveniently located by the downtown area. The room was very cozy, quiet, and had a delightful little fireplace to help make the evening a little cozier. We will absolutely be coming back here in the future next time we are in the area!
Excellent location near the center. The rooms dont have air conditioning or ventilation. You have to open the window and it faces the hallway (room 206), which means you lose privacy. The breakfast was acceptable. Its also annoying that you have to request housekeeping every day, and they dont do it by default. The pool was 80 degrees, but its not covered, so youll freeze to death. Rooms: They do not have ventilation or air conditioning Noteworthy details: Notify that you need cleaning service every day, really annoying
Stayed three nights here. Loved the close-to-downtown location, nice rooms (liked how the TV wall separates the bathroom and bedroom), great breakfast included, friendly staff. I left something in my room and after getting home and realizing it, I called and they sent it to my home right away. Would stay here again for sure (but maybe request a top floor so as not to hear the people above us).
Best place to stay in Carmel. This was our first visit and we will only stay here for any future visits. Friendly staff with included breakfast.
I stayed for one night and it was a good experience. The staff were friendly and showed us directions to the breakfast bar on the third floor. There wasn t air conditioning in the room I stayed in but it seemed fine. You could hear through the walls and the roof throughout your stay, though. Nearby activities: Walking around is a great way to find different places that s you might enjoy. So many creative shops and the beach is a great spot too. Walkability: Great area to stay in. Very close to the beach and other shops. Food and drinks: Theres free breakfast on the third floor and there s a market just behind the Inn.
Great location, friendly staff, easy parking, breakfast included, fireplace, swimming pool, very very clean rooms, beautiful flowers and a new roof. Whats not to like? We have stayed here many times. It is our Carmel home away from Los Gatos. Rooms: Once again the rooms are very very clean. Walkability: Easy walking distance to all of downtown Carmel.
Very nice staff, we arrived way earlier than the check in time, they allowed us to park the car there. Excellent location, we were able to walk everywhere from the hotel. There were some roofing work in progress, so we got upgraded to the room with good view. Enjoyed this nice boutique hotel conveniently located with breakfast and parking included. Would come back again. Rooms: Nice clean room with a lot of space Walkability: Easy walking to restaurants in town
Quite large, friendly and sunny room with balcony, fireplace (gas) and coffee machine. Wonderful bed, bathroom functionally up to standard. Nearby activities: 17 miles. Drive, very beautiful, a must-see. A round trip by car or bike. Walkability: Near the center, quiet, many restaurants and shops in the immediate vicinity. A few blocks to the beautiful beach.
Super place to stay! Definitely would be a repeat customer if we returned to Carmel.
We stayed for one night, just passing through. Great location, good service. Like other guests, the smell upon entering our room indicates that action is needed. Breakfast could also be improved. Overall, its good.
Such a charming hotel with comfortable, clean rooms and a super friendly staff. Its also in a great location, right near so many shops and restaurants (and even a farmers market depending on time of year). Included is a pretty full breakfast bar, a clean pool, and plenty of parking as well.
Its a reasonable place to stay for a short while. Outdated rooms, not that noisy but not that well insulated either. Nothing spectacular but fine for a quick stay. Rooms: Outdated but functional. Shower was a bathtub + curtains.
Great little inn. Good location. Enjoyed fireplace in the room! Free continental breakfast.
Large, clean, quiet room. Very friendly welcome. Great location for a tour of the center, parking available and free.
We love the place, the only thing was they told us that the pool was heated but wasn t true :(
Cute, clean, nice view. Our room was one without AC but there are some that do have it.
Pros staff is amazing location is great right by where you need to be parking is tight but well allocated comfy room and nice big modern bathroom fireplace is a nice touch breakfast is good Cons The carpet in the room is a bit old and smelly cannot recommend it enough
Parking is available in sufficient quantity, but spaces are tight.
Right in middle of Carmel. Great location and friendly staff.
Horrible customer service. Do not pay for an ocean view room because you will probably not have one. We came here for a lovely couple s weekend away and after paying almost $400 a night for our room we had a huge tree instead of an ocean view. When I called the front to ask for a different room I was informed they did not have anything available except a suite that I couldn t have because I didn t pay for it. They also said I could call in the morning and see if anyone checked out. This is basic hospitality, if you mess up then you fix it. We were offered no compensation or even an apology. I have included a picture of our view from the room. Terrible service, tv looks like it s from the early 2000s with poor quality, no a/c, no fans, wifi does not work, loud area directly on a busy street, pool closes at 7pm and is not heated. Not worth the money.
Staff was great: polite, attentive and conscientious. This room was quite possibly the cleanest hotel room I have ever stayed in. I have life-threatening food allergies, and I felt totally safe using the table. Surfaces literally shined. They don t allow pets, which is why I chose this hotel, as I also have a life-threatening allergy to dogs and most hotels and motels in Carmel allow them. The shutters on the windows unfortunately did not block light enough, so I had a very difficult time sleeping. It was also very loud. I am unfortunately a very light sleeper. The street isn t noisy at night, but the walls are poorly insulated and all of the doors and cupboards slam. I could hear every time a door or cabinet was closed in the nearby rooms as well as every step on the balcony /walkway outside. The bathroom door needed to be planed and wouldn t latch if you didn t pull it closed very firmly, which made a loud noise. (Room 204) The mini fridge was also very old and quite noisy when it ran. It was, however, incredibly clean, just like everything else in the room. My second night I turned my white noise machine up almost as high as it would go and also put earplugs in at 6 AM when neighbors started walking around and closing doors. This made the noise level a little more tolerable, so I got a couple more hours of sleep than the night before. The location is amazing. It s a very small Carmel-sized block away from Ocean, which is the main street in Carmel-by-the-Sea. Wonderful restaurants and shops are close at hand. Most of my favorite art galleries in the world are located in Carmel-by-the-Sea, with an easy walking distance of this little Inn. I think it was overall a good value for the money. My husband sleeps more deeply than I do, and he wasn t overly bothered by the noise. Rooms: Clean, tidy, nicely but blandly decorated Walkability: Amazing. Excellent, excellent location
What a beautiful place! Location couldnt be better. Room was huge and the view was great. Staff was super nice and Luis Azpilicueta, Member of the Registration Team, gave us some indications that made us have a great night. Thank you Luis!
We recently stayed at this lovely hotel for three nights. Loved all the beautiful flower boxes and flower beds. We enjoyed the fireplace and private patio. Luis, at the front desk was very helpful and accommodating.. didnt want to leave ...
Great accommodation. Large rooms. Very clean. Excellent breakfast. Very friendly staff. 100% recommendation. Rooms: Spacious, stylishly furnished, fireplace, very clean Safety: We never had the impression that we werent safe there. Walkability: Right next to a supermarket, Max. Five to the center Food and drinks: Breakfast buffet offers everything you need: coffee, tea, juice, fruit, cereal, bagels, toast, spreads, sweets, bacon, eggs, yogurt
Rooms: Clean and comfortable. More: No A/C, so pay attention to weather forecasts around hot months. Rooms
Great hotel in a great location, easy to walk to the beach, restaurants, shops etc. The bed was comfortable, room was clean and staff were v friendly. Only small negative is that you do hear some noise from adjoining rooms or from the street Rooms
Great place to stay at when in Carmel! Spacious room, friendly staff. we liked the breakfast. Shops and restaurants in Carmel are just a 5 minute walk from here!
This hotel is great. Fantastic location, the room was incredibly clean (it did have a musky smell but not a dirty one), very friendly staff, comfy beds, good wifi etc. However, one thing let it down. There was a very loud whooshing noise every now and then, I believe it was when someone was using hot water elsewhere in the hotel. It woke us up on both nights of our stay, and I sleep with earplugs in. A real shame and something that needs addressing by the hotel.
Great location and close to everything in downtown. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The decor is nice and fitting to the area. The building is old so one can hear everything, but noise from outside is not bad. I have stayed here twice and always have been comfortable and satisfied. There are many opportunities for lodging in Carmel, this this place an opportunity.
Amazing value for money, great location. Breakfast can be improved even considering the price.
Clean simple rooms. Have gas fireplace which is nice on a chilly night. Great bars in walking distances. Small market next doors.
Quiet, clean, comfortable rooms. Nice staff, great location, free parking, hot breakfast - nothing fancy but great value for the price during the off season. Walkability: A block from all the shops and restaurants.
Great location. Very clean. Good basic hotel. Good bed.
This was our first overnight visit to Carmel. We were there for several days staying in an Airbnb rental but we needed one extra night on either end of the stay. We were looking for a nice but not outrageously priced location and the Inn fit that. The staff was very friendly and attentive and the overall property was nice as well as the provided breakfast. Our only critique is that the rooms were musty. You can tell by the style that the buildings have been there quite some time and even though the rooms have been selectively updated (e.g., the baths, room paint, shutters, etc) the rooms smell (although not severely by any means) like that of an old building. This could mean carpets need cleaning or else air fresheners should be added in the rooms.
This place is clean, cozy and wonderful. The perfect little inn that makes the town easily walkable. Our new go-to place when we come to visit
Rooms: Comfortable, spacious, quiet & fire place Nearby activities: Shops & restaurants nearby Safety: Great place for walkabout without worrying about the traffic. Walkability: All the sidewalk & streets are convenient. Food and drinks: Easily available & no need for appointments
The location of this inn is good. It is in the carmel downtown with beauty all around. It offers complimentary breakfast but the options are very limited. The stay was comfortable and the rooms were clean Rooms
Good for the price. Rooms are clean and service was good. The biggest downside was the road noice which was at times quite unpleasant.
An absolute delight, I loved this place, clean rooms helpful staff and perfectly placed to explore Carmel
Excellent place to stay! Comfy bed with a beautiful view. Very nice n quiet. Super friendly front desk !
Ok cant say any better than that
Great and friendly staff, quiet enough location and ocean views are worth the premium. The ease of access and cleanliness are far above the average for the area!
Lovely
I have worked in hotels for years and I have to say, Luis at the front desk was wonderful. He was so welcoming, even on the phone. He was professional, efficient, and really kind. He even thought ahead about our needs. The room was perfect and we loved the fireplace. Quiet, dark, comfortable bed. No stupid blinking lights! Would recommend this place no questions. Best hotel stay in a long time.
Very clean & spacious rooms. Excellent location in the middle of downtown Carmel & walking distance from the beach. Grocery market nearby & very close to all restaurants & shopping places. Car parking available. Highly recommend it
Just what I ordered
Completely updated spotless rooms, great location with restaurants/ bars right across the street, Diana and staff make sure your stay is very special, cant wait to return Tue 21st.
I have stayed here twice and both stays were very positive. I had room 503 with a single king, balcony, view and fireplace. That room felt upscale and fancy for a great price. I also stayed with my family in room 301 which had 2 separate rooms, 1 king and 2 queens. It was great for hosting our family. It had lots of room and its own patio with table and chairs. It did not feel upscale but it was clean and very convenient, also great value. They have an 80 degree pool to swim in that is small with a short shallow end of 3 fit that quickly slopes down into 9 feet. They are now doing grab and go breakfasts with a banana, croissant and water.
Great place to stay! There s free parking, our room was super clean, and they have friendly staff. It was also walking distance from a lot of stores and restaurants in downtown Carmel.
Great people at the front desk. Nice and clean room, good bed, and perfect location. Pricing is great. Would stay there again in a heartbeat.
Loves this room! Was on the 4th floor with an ocean view balcony. Got my best rest of my whole journey down from lake tahoe. Super quiet. Super clean. Great coffee and great service. I would recommend this hotel to my best friend! Friendly staff and totally accommodating for my late check out (noon). I would definitely stay again!
Stayed for 5 nights Pros: comfortable bed, room was compact but had everything we needed (except no microwave). Bathroom looks newly renovated. The shower is huge and it had nice water pressure and temperature. Room had two luggage stands. The gas fireplace was very nice. Room had a nice amount of lights. Entry front desk is a very nice area. Had a vending machine, ice machine, and suite case wheel racks you could use. The person that checked us in was very nice. Great walking location in Carmel. Pool is heated. There is a very nice deli next door to the hotel so that helps for cheap dinners and breakfast. They also have a liquor store next door. Every worker we talked to was extremely nice and has helpful as they could be. Cons: No microwave but we have a fridge? Maybe its just for drinks. The iron is locked to the board so filling it with water is a pain. The parking was difficult if you come in late. The parking spots on the property are pretty small. Elevator is a bit sketchy. The bathroom sink area, even with the window ledge and small sink shelf is not enough room. The hot water at the sink is a very little stream. Loud bathroom door so its hard to sneak in and out without waking your partner. The pillows are very stiff. At 9:30 am and breakfast area was close with small baggies of water, banana, and cinnamon pastry. The only microwave on the property has been locked in the breakfast area so what is the point? I was kicked out of the wifi, I thought no problem, Ill just reconnect. I retype my access code to the Wi-Fi portal and it says that its no longer valid. I tried calling the 24-hour help desk and it says that phone number is no longer in service. Turns out they reset the password. Our final bill had 3 different types of taxes, about 20$ per day.
I had a terrible experience here. I booked through Wells Fargo and never got a confirmation email or any correspondence. I showed up and they told me I booked for the night before. I asked if they could do anything for me and they wouldn t. I called Wells Fargo and all they could do was ask the hotel for a refund or to rebook me for the correct night, which they refused to do. At the very least, they should have called me the night before when I was a no show. The guy at the front desk told me I could book another room for $260. I refused and went to Carmel Resort Inn which was a blessing in disguise. The rooms there are huge! It s like staying in your own private cabin with your own driveway, free parking, outdoor fire pit, indoor fireplace, microwave and fridge. Save yourself and go save $100 by booking at Carmel Resort Inn.
Perfect!!
I haven t checked out yet but I m so impressed with this place I had to write the review now. For what the hotel offers comparatively to others in the area, the prices are almost too reasonable. 10/10 for the cleanliness, service from both front desk and custodians, views, and location. We got the king suite ocean view room and it has an incredible view with plenty of space for three people. (When the website said ocean view, I thought we d be able to peak the ocean from around the corner of a small window. Not an entire balcony with a view of the whole town.) A five minute (or less) walk from many restaurants and markets and 20 mins from the beach. If we return, I hope to book this inn again and again.
Well located hotel within walking distance to the main street
This is like a Seinfeld story. I put in a request to get room 404 back in October, when I arrive they tell me that someone has already been checked in into that room for a week. I specifically wrote in the memo a month ago we wanted that room. That s why I paid the extra bucks, there s no excuse on trying to explain to me that someone s been there for a week. The thing is that they know how to take the reservation, but not hold the reservation for the room. Sad. It was better last year.
Good hotel In Carmel, cleanliness, friendly and helpful staff also in a great location in the heart of Carnel...highly recommended Rooms: The rooms are clean and well-maintained, and the beds are comfortable
We had a lot of expectations when I booked the deluxe room with the ocean view. To our surprise, we were given a room which faced more towards the mountains than the ocean as evident in the photos. Given that I had booked weeks in advance, I expected a better room, but this was all that was available. They do have rooms that directly face the ocean, but the room given to me didnt, though they charge the same premium. The staff was nice. While they were accommodating and willing to switch me to a better room the next day, I opted to cancel the next day instead. One good thing is that there are plenty of restaurants within walking distance. The amenities were okay. The fireplace didnt work, or at least we couldnt figure how to operate it. The hotel has a very slow elevator too. The parking spaces were very tight. The heater in the room was manual without air conditioning. Since theres no option to just turn on the fan, it gets suffocating. The vending machine accepts cash only, but we didnt carry any, so we couldnt get a bottle of water when we wanted. Overall, I wouldnt recommend this hotel.
Nice location. But the room smelt bad, not sure if it is the cleaning products they use. Couldn t open the windows because we faced the back of a general store that was really noisy. Bring an air freshener if you stay there.
Luis met us at the front desk. He was very friendly and incredibly helpful. Our room was exactly as described and the view of the ocean was wonderful. I realize the inn is older but the touches were wonderful - beautiful tile in the shower, very nice furniture, a very comfortable bed with lovely sheets, nice artwork and the room was very clean. The inn is close to everything in town. My only regret is that we were only there for one night. We will definitely stay here in the future.
Awesome place!
My wife and I arrived at about 7:30pm and brought all our luggage including a cooler into the room. We poured a couple of drinks and talked before planning to go out to eat. At about 8:00pm, there was a loud knock on the door and a.voice announcing it was the police. They said they re dived complaints that there was yelling g and sounds of fur iture being thrown around. My wife was panic stricken and called 911 to make sure they were indeed the police since we hadnt done anything re.otely resembling any of that. After vetting confirnation, u opened the door and they took us each aside and questioned us. They were very decent and saw that we were just a couple enjoying a night out. We had come here to re-live our honeymoon 30 years ago. I went down to the desk and they were less than apologetic offering an excuse that he had got calls but couldnt check it out because he was busy on the phone. The next day I called the manager who also was less than appeasing citing excuses that she couldnt help what other guests did in calling the police. These people did nothing to deescalatw the situation. We will never go back there again. It was a horrible traumatic experience.
Great location, walking distance to everything you need. A bit pricy for the star level and against the local competition. The room design despite renovations is dated but very clean! Parking can be an issue at night, but plenty of street parking. One neat feature was a gas fire place inside the room, not very practical but nice and can t be a romantic feature. Large closets are great, especially if you plan to stay longer than a few days! Areas of improvement: 1. Incorporate a credit card option on your vending machines, or add an ATM machine at a very minimum.. Apple Pay is the trend these days especially with COVID. 2. The heater is room #204 is extremely loud! And when it s cold you re gonna need to keep it on.
View from our room...been staying here for many years. Clean, good breakfasts prior to covid, fireplaces, well located 1 block off main drag!
Love d my stay here. Highly recommend;;
Great place to stay in a great location. I would definitely stay there again.
Very nice and very clean, loved it, reasonably priced as well.
Spent my 13th year anniversary here. Carmel Bay View Inn is a decent and clean hotel; it is walking distance to some of good restaurants, boutiques and next to a small grocery/deli. Definitely going back.
It was a great place to stay at. We stayed in a king bedroom suite on the top level and got beautiful views of the Carmel Bay.
Nice place. No pet friendly. Comfy rooms and really close to everything.
Quick check-in, good service, rooms were big and clean. They looked like they were recently remodeled. Location is perfect, its walking distance to all of the shops. Lovely place. We would stay here again.
Very clean, great location! So many great restaurants and shops within walking distance.
Nice room with a view of Carmel Bay. The room was clean. The room cost was too high.
Great hotel near Carmel downtown, staff was very friendly and helpful , spacious and clean rooms with fireplace and terrace, excellent breakfast ,indoor and free parking.
Nice hotel, comfortable room
The most beautiful hotel ever! Our room had a fireplace & was super spacious, the staff is incredibly friendly + it s located within a walking distance of the Main Street! Absolutely LOVED it!
Good clean and quiet hotel at best location at Carmel
Pleasant stay. Room was small. Fireplace in room was nice.
Great! Large, comfortable room, impeccable cleanliness and great service. Very well located.
Excellent restaurant. Highly recommended.
Stayed at the Inn this Sept 2021 for the first time. Rooms were clean and spacious and the staff was very helpful and pleasant. The great thing about this Inn is its location. We walked everywhere as it is right at the beginning of Ocean Ave with a convenient Deli right next door. Great place to stay. Recommended.
Just needed a fan. Otherwise, super clean. Super friendly. Great location.
Great spot in Carmel!!
I Loved this place! My room had a very large patio& terrace with a BEAUTIFUL View of the Ocean/ mountains & downtown Carmel. The room was PERFECT! Elegant, and The look of the Inn was very charming with all the flower boxes & planters! The Housekeeping Dept did a very thorough job cleaning the rooms! ALL the Staff was friendly & very accommodating Thank You Carmel Inn for a GREAT 3 NIGHT STAY
Amazing service. I wish the beds were a little more gentle but thats a tiny complaint. Cant beat the price or location.
The room is cold. Im from Russia, so its not an exaggeration. Its literally cold like in Siberia. The breakfast lacks protein. Apart from that, nice.
Stayed there several times. Never disappoints.
Clean, great view, close to town. would book again
This quaint hotel that gives you beautiful views of the area. It was such a nice touch of the small garden outside the door. We had such a sound sleep as the beds were very comfortable. The staff is very helpful and ensured we made it to our rooms just fine. I was ecstatic to see a fire place in the room as it made the ambiance even better. Definitely will be coming back.
A charming, quiet hotel typical of the Californian coast, simple and comfortable.
Nice clean and reasonably priced room in the heart of the village.
Me and my partner stayed at this place for 4 nights. The 2nd day, our toilet clogged but it was after 5 so they said there was no one there to fix after 5 so they moved us to a different room. Fine. We had no housekeeping services so we had to request different things. I used the lotion in the bathroom and it was sour. The extra blanket we requested made my face break out in hives. We were trying to discuss these things upon check out but the manager was unapologetic and had an explanation for everything thing. Examples: the toilet wasnt clogged when we checked in; sometimes us women have skin reactions to different things. The worst was when she insisted we were told when we checked in that we had to request housekeeping services which was written in a letter that we werent given. She insisted we got it. She kept saying, when you checked in, you were given this letter. I cant remember how many times she said it, as if it was going to make it true. Like I said, unapologetic and a bit condescending. No customer service for us. There are way too many other places in Carmel. This place is cheap and obviously cutting corners.
No one in the lobby but it clearly is big enough for two grown adults to check in. Front desk clerk tells me to wait outside because they have a sign out front saying one person per lobby! Several yellow social distancing stickers on the floor to designate clear and current social distancing protocol! But the desk clerk has a Napoleon syndrome and decides to flex his awarded prowess led and tells me to wait outside!!! Great customer said no one ever!!!!
Expensive, Weird tight parking, No view despite being advertised as such. You have to leave the main parking go around the corner to access the rest of the building on roads just above being dirt roads that dont look like they should be named ir that its someones driveway. It was clean, the cleaning crew was helpful. The showers were hot and had good pressure. Beds were comfortable.
Highly Recommend!!! Rooms are exceptional clean, office staff was friendly and cleaning team very polite and helpful. The motel is a little far from the beach if your walking, but if your riding your bicycle or driving its perfect. Plus, you have less of the crowd right outside your door since your a little further away. Our room was awesome with a fireplace and lovely view of the ocean off the balcony. Since Covid, we are more about ordering online and picking up the food to take back to the room. Our room had a cute little table and chairs and we felt perfectly safe to eat in the room since it was so clean. We will stay here again. Carmel is a beautiful place to visit, weather was fantastic, especially since we are in the middle of 100 degree temps where we live, so it was perfect. Everyone following the rules with regards to wearing masks and most people seemed to be pleasant, not like some of the other coastal towns where the locals seems to hate you just for being there.
I wouldve put five stars....only issue (wasnt major) but... was the the ac wasnt really cold and the outlets were slow charging.....otherwise the customer service was great very sweet and accommodating...lets say this we stayed again without wanting to and we will come again.
Motel style. Clean room with a small . Bathroom/shower small but clean. Warmed pool.
Get the 2 bedroom suite.
Clean, good view, good location!
Clean place, great location near everything. Few miles away from the beach.
Great place, clean rooms. Older place but nicely maintained. Parking is tight
Great service! Very clean
Service Francisco was awesome. Facilities , wasnt cleaned. The first room we got smelled terribly like a wet dog. Second room was better, but had pet odor. They refunded us promptly and without any hassle or drama. Francisco did his best to take care of us, even asking if we need him to find another place to stay. The Inn is located central to town and has the deli next door that will deliver to your room.
Air conditioner wasnt working. Other than that I give a solid 9/10
This is our favorite place to sstay. But miss the Wonderful breakfast.
Great location! Walking to restaurant and the plaza, definitely coming back
This is the third time Ive stayed at this hotel and I love it every time. This experience is different because of COVID-19, so there are a lot of safety and health precautions set in place. This location is perfect for walking to dinner or down to the beach. We stayed in room 504, which has a fireplace and a great view of the ocean with some outdoor seating.
Very clean. Nice and attentive staff. Fireplace was nice, pretty comfortable bed.
Clean, quiet, and just steps to town. Low key, laid back place.
Super cute, clean room with a fireplace! 10/10 Would stay again
Really enjoyed my stay. The room was very clean and the ocean view was spectacular. Francisco at the front desk was very friendly and helpful! Thank you for a nice stay!
Very clean comfortable and close to everything!!
Recommend for a romantic weekend
Quiet, clean and very comfortable that you almost dont want to go back to reality when you stay there. Not too expensive and within walking distance to just about everything in Carmel. Cant go wrong with this Inn
Great check-in. Clean and very comfortable bed!
great accommodation!!!
This hotel was fabulous!! It was so cute & the room was stunning! The room had a fireplace, the bathroom was very nice as well! Plenty of parking & easy check in.
Great view.
Our stay here was amazing, our room was perfect with lots a space and a large balcony with best view of the ocean. Free breakfast was great too.
Cute, beautiful, great service, nice location and landscaping, good parking, breakfast was just ok!
Very clean and cozy room
There was a smell of gas in the room because there was a gas stove in it. According to the reception, thats okay. We didnt particularly like sleeping in it
Good place to stay. Their complimentary breakfast is good to. Dont buy rooms at the counter though. Internet rates are much better.
Nice hotel with comfortable rooms. All thats missing is air conditioning.
Great location. Plenty of parking. Clean and well appointed rooms. Unbelievable views.
No pets allowed for folks who have allergies
The room condition was better than I expected, parking was free, and the accommodation cost was very cheap compared to other cities, so I was satisfied.
Excellent hotel, very comfortable room with fireplace (gas). Its cool even in summer. Heated pool. Traditional American breakfast.
A very beautiful town, but the restaurants are expensive.
clean and tidy
Everything about this place is so convenient, pleasant and accommodating. The location from shops, food and beach brought me here the first time...literally steps! However, the excellent management and courteous staff bring me back each time.
Good location , clean
My second time staying here great hotel & staff fabulous location .
Very nice hotel, very well located. The rooms are large, very clean and with simple decor! Very good value for money!
Good service, very dated
Been staying here for years. Fair price for a Carmel motel. Plenty off street parking, walking distance to everything. Bed was comfortable and room was very clean.
Great spot with gorgeous view and nice rooms.
Lovely. Cosy clean room. Pleasant staff. Nice little breakfast. Carmel Town is a magical place. I love it.
Amazing place, breakfast room is a little small for seating. But the rooms are big and comfortable with a cute little fire and large tv and decent size bathroom. Walking distance to the high street and beach
loved it
Marked up: service, comfort, fire place breakfast. Marked down: no AC, old, shower, cold rooms.
Carmel great location.
Nice breakfast. Just two short blocks to main drag. Gas fireplaces in rooms
Such a cute place with great views. Please check this out!
We stayed here for a weekend getaway. Our room was very comfy with a king size bed, fireplace and nice bathroom. The location was perfect. It was a minute away from Vesuvios and The Forge. There was also complimentary breakfast from 7:30 to 10:30 AM. We would stay here again.
