I took car in for recalls. In person they were courteous and it was easy to schedule. However despite REPEATED requests to only contact me at my cell they only called my defunct land line, so I was not notified when the car was ready and it sat in the shop for three extra days. It then took two more calls for me to get an answer as my calls were not returned and I just finally got someone to pick up the phone. Very poor customer service.

Horrible experience here today. Called yesterday that I lost my key and needed the key code for a locksmith to make me a new key. They wouldnt give it to me unless I came in with drivers license and insurance card, so I did. As soon as I got here they said no we need registration. I told them I called and thats not what I was told. Regardless I found my registration online amd sent it to them and then they STILL wouldnt give the code to me because my registration had my bank as the lein holder. Well of course!!! I have a loan! Of course my bank is the lein holder. What a joke. I bought the truck here!! And my camry! So then we asked for a manager and they didnt want to bring the manager out! Finally got the manager out and proved I bought the truck here and finally they were willing to get the code for me but made me pay for the code! Shouldnt I automatically get my key code if I purchased my truck AT THAT LOCATION?? What a joke. Never going back. This place is ridiculous.

I contacted the dealer through Facebook Marketplace about a TRD Pro Tacoma. The sales rep was unprofessional, constantly changing the markup and payment amounts. Frustrated, I called my auto broker who works with Santa Cruz Toyota, and he managed to lower my payment, something Santa Cruz claimed they couldnt do. Firstly, its highly unethical to impose such dealer markups. Secondly, on the day the dealership was supposed to deliver the vehicle to my auto broker, they called and refused to pay his broker fee, claiming they needed to split the commission between two of their own sales reps, despite already charging me a $2,000 markup. If the dealer wanted to rectify this situation, they should refund my markup. I would not recommend buying from this dealership as they switch prices on payments and impose unethical markups.

I realize this shop is not to blame for that. It is a hard decision.

As we were about to leave Santa Cruz after visiting family our check engine light came on. It was Sunday December 22. Yikes! We called SC Toyota and they were not only open but said to come on in. The water pump had failed so it was replaced and computer system update installed. I had done my research and came prepared to buy a car. What the sales folks at Santa Cruz Toyota told me about features and availability was different from the information that is easily found on the Toyota website. I had an uneasy feeling and left. It seemed like they were willing to tell me whatever it took to get me to buy what they had, not what I wanted. The following day, I visited another dealership over the hill. I m extremely unhappy with policy. Due to a family emergency I came in late for service at 7500miles - in between the 5000 and 10,000 new car service. 5000 mile = tire rotation 10,000 miles =tire rotation and oil change If I chose to do the oil change I would forfeit the first service completely. I disagree and believe i shouldn t have to forfeit something I paid for, I should be able to skip it and use it later. Service car rides to and from home during service was nice. They didn t wash my car or fix the floor mats which were loose and an inspection of floor mats was supposed to be completed as part if the service.

I usually have my GS350 serviced at Lexus of Monterey but have used Toyota of Santa Cruz my last two services. The 2nd service followed a full service just two months ago. In both cases Toyota piled on with extra services.at an average of $1,500 per visit. Lexus has always stuck to their quotes and I ve always known upfront what the costs would be. I just don t trust Toyota s service department to do anything but pad their services.

Do not come here for service. The last time I was here, the service department not only forgot to put my skid plate back on my truck (making me drive back there) they over tightened and cracked my plastic oil filter cover. We visited SANTA CRUZ TOYOTA after less than positive interactions at 3 other dealerships in our area The salesman (Abel) we worked with was very professional, honest, knowledgeable and extremely helpful. He answered all of our questions, went over the new Camry features and alternatives (based on the trim levels), and was not the slightest bit high pressured. We met with the sales manager and Abel and negotiated a very fair agreement on the specific car we wanted, and received a fair and appropriate trade in allowance on our 2010 Prius. After leaving to go home to discuss purchasing our chosen car, we returned later after deciding this was the car and the deal we wanted, completing the paperwork with the very professional finance person, and drove our new car home that day. That was five days ago and we love the car, and still cant believe the honest and positive interactions we experienced through the entire process of buying a new car at this dealership. Id rate them 10 stars if I could!

They helped to fix the issue with my car and also helped pay for half of the car rental when my vehicle was being repaired which I appreciated. However the work was very expensive and when my car came back there were scratches on the windshield that wasn t there before I brought my car in and a lot of pine needles on my windows that were not there prior to the work being done. Where was my car kept while it was being repaired?

I brought my 2012 Prius in for a software update and asked them if they could figure out why the car was misfiring on number two cylinder. I had replaced everything on the car related to a misfire in number two cylinder prior to having them help me with this. Started with spark plugs, ignition coils, oxygen sensor, mass air sensor, EGR valve, cleaned intake manifold, and then replace the head gasket. I replaced the engine ECU. After all that the car still did not run on all four cylinders. They charged me $100 and said they would have to do another $650 worth of work by removing the intake manifold to inspect which I had done three times prior. At the end of all this, I still have a car that doesn t run right when it s cold and I was out $100. Even The supposed experts could not figure out my 2012 Toyota Prius misfire. This was in 2020. More recently, I brought my 2000 Toyota Celica in for a daytime running light recall and when I got the car back, there was a giant scratch in the hood. Called and left a message with Service yesterday and haven t heard back yet.

This is no different than any auto dealership. Ready to rip off the customer. I went for a $79.95 oil change with an intention of getting tranmission fluid change also if price is right. Well my service advisor told me that they are super busy and it will be 3 hours for oil change and provided me with a list of useless services that ranged in 3 options (cheapest option being $1200 and most expensive being $1800). I was presented with 4 recommended services one of which totally shocked me. It was to replace rear brake pads and resurface the rotors (only rear not front). It was over $1387. Are you kidding me with that. Who pays over $1387 for 2 brakepads that dont even come with new rotors. Anyways, I was given a service contract to sign prior to work that has a price. Once oil change was done, they gave me a different amount on the final bill. My question is why did you made me sign a contract price if you cannot honor it. Anyways they had to correct it as Im not paying a different price. Service advisor was blabbing that it is only a few bucks. Well, too bad we had a contract price. Overall, a bad experience to remember and Im not coming back for next service for sure. Will report to Toyota too if they care. My advise to local customers is to just say NO to useless services they recommend at overly inflated prices.

Service advisors were friendly and helpful, but info wasnt always complete as the repair went on, which may not have been their fault. I was asked to approve the repair before seeing the detailed estimate - that process should be addressed better. I wish I had known I could have saved up to $1000 by buying the parts myself off the Toyota SC website. Aftermarket parts were required but were the same cost as Toyota parts. Overall I feel they did what was best, it just seemed quite expensive.

When a car has known issues and there have been safety recalls and then the parts arent even available anymore then I think Toyota could have waived their diagnostic fee. I would like Toyota America to refund my money and fix my car. Known steering issues are rather dangerous... They did reduce the fee from 125 to 62.50... but the service person I worked with had many lame excuses why he couldnt do any better. Also, the last time I went there they wanted $250 for a key I bought at a local lock shop for $80. It took 15 minutes to cut and program and works perfectly. Update: 3 months later i got new tires and i now have NO steering issues. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER.

This is for the manager, or any high-ranking person who works on site: I would like to propose that you (yes, you!) spend at least a month being the one who moves customer-owned vehicles from the service area back to the pick-up spot where customers drive their vehicle after service. You personally should set an example that no task is beneath you for respecting the customer, and therefore you personally should *clean two large bird poop splatters off of the customer windshield* before handing back the vehicle (bird poop that happened while the car was at your dealership). Would you return a car like that to someone you know? Would you be like thanks for loaning your car, boss, here it is and hand it over with two huge bird splatters at eye level on the windshield? No. And a good manager will lead from the top. This is *not* license for you to go lecture your service staff. Those are skilled technicians that work hard already and dont need to be treated like carwashers. Lead from the top, dear manager. Run bird-crap duty yourself and lead from the top. If you think is beneath you, you are part of the problem.

After having my car turned off for a few days, I turned it back on and my GPS navigation panel was dead black. CarPlay didn t work nothing worked. I took it to the dealer to find out what was up. The lady that was helping me seem to know what the problem would be, she said they had had a software update to the panel and that s probably what was wrong. She was correct and all they had to do was re-download the current software. What bothered me was they charged me $125 to do that because my car was recently out of warranty. But it seems to me that if the car is going to rely operationally on software updates that should be Toyota s responsibility. If something broke, I can understand being responsible for that myself, but I would have had a completely dead dash panel, if I didn t pay them to download this again. I m only guessing, but I assumed it was because my car was turned off when the update went through. That probably happens to a lot of people and I did nothing to cause it and what happens next time there s an update? Am I going to have to pay $125+ every time they have an update because my dash will not work without me doing that? That feels a little like extortion. Otherwise, I really like the dealership and they have always been helpful to me.

They did a good job, but expensively. I really dislike they listed change of transaxle as a problem that needs immediate attention and gave me a form to approve or decline it. Of course I declined as the transmission only neede enough fluid inside. Cost would be $8,500 and we would achieve absolutely nothing. The transmission works perfectly fine and I am staggered I paid for their diagnosis although I didnt want it and they were completely wrong.

Great experience getting my 5K new vehicle tuneup. They were quicker than they said they would be and they were willing to if I needed provide me a shuttle to pick up my dog that was at the groomers! I did not need to do this because they were so quick, but I appreciate the gesture!
